1. And dreams can come crashinf down and turn into nightmares, that is why we need unity on this materr, and take the utmost coution of creating khalistan, or face the future problems.
2. and sikhs will continue to decline for a little while as many imigrate to more wealthy countries and some will be killed by others. Khalistan may bring more problems than we may realise (incresed poverty, more radicals and loss of jobs and infrustucture, and courruption). I'm sure we can handle it ourselves, but we need a "plan" to confront an solve these issues.
3. I'm one of those confused people when it comes to the khalistan issue, although i'm see more and more each day that it's becomming more and more likely that the creation of khalistan will not be a peacefull creation. If that happens, it will be a bad start, but not a loss. I guess it's ok then...
4. Exactly, i didn't hear very much of from the indain governemnt except a drafted up paper saying their condolinces, as if. I believe the indian government is more involved than everyone thinks. I hope Malik and baghri continue to have prosperious lives with their families and businesses and put this behind us. The sikh community is no way guilty of these horrible acts of violence. Must be the workings of another religious organization, anyone else feel the same way about this? -Khalsa Starr
5. then i will join, i dodn't know alott, however it will add tot he sikh population on the bbc forum.
6. this is indeed good news. now what needs to be done is bring the indian government up to the stage and explain. if they didnt do it, musy have been just a crimminal at work again...
7. Know one knows if the events of 84 will happen again.
8. On the topic of youth trimming their hair for fashion and so called "blending into mainstream" I think the dicision is a good step towards halting the intrusion of the sikh image that has been happening in recent years. As long as it does not cause some sort of a division between members of the community. Another possible culprit in the slow assimilation of the sikh youth is the many singers (bhangra or not) that are often seen with trimmed hair and uncovered head. This includes the popular Jaswinder Singh Bains and manak e, just to name a few. Many sikh youth look up to these so-called idols and try to imatate their image. I know this because i have seen many music videos showing these young sikh singers (you can tell by their big shiny khanda around their neck) who claim their faithfull but their image proves other wise. Of course their are singers who follow the sikh dress code and don't slip up. However, to those who do: What are you trying to prove? Is looking less like a sikh "Cool"? I'm especially upset with Jaswinder Singh Bains. Flashing his big khanda and not covering his head often. As well as trimming his beard. Shame on you Jassy b, shame on you... This is a little off topic, but i felt i had to shout it out.
9. you could also use sites like suprnova and azuruas. Be aware though it slows down your interent connection. This is as far i will explain, the rest you can ge by googling it.
10. What is sukha? Just wondering, i know, dumb question...
11. The RSS? Hmm, does anyone have any info on this group? who are they, i'm just learning about this.
12. I was refering to the tyrants, once they see that we are victorious and are successful, they won't bother us as much. As i said, most will stay, while other will want out, depending on how the country is like after.
13. didn't like some 250,000 die in that? once khalistan is made, won't muslums and hindus flee? kind of like a mini partition. But as as user suggested, most will simply just stay... what will they do? Fight against us!!!
14. You act as if i'm not a sikh, and i'm an outsider. so your saying that none of these groups are guilty of doing wrongdoing? edit: are you part of Babbar Khalsa??? Member?? 89027 I fail to see how I act as though you are not a Sikh and an outsider when I make the point about you having a low opinion of us. That statment was not in refrence to you having a low opinion of Sikhs, but rather of people who admire organisations like Babbar Khalsa (eg myself, Singhstah and Bijla Singh). Please do not take everything that is siad as an attack on you, and please do not think that everyone sees you as an outsider. I personally do NOT have this view, which I though you would be aware of considering our previous PM conversations. In fact, I am quite hurt that you took the statment that way. May I also add that we are moving this debate off topic, and thus should try to take it back to the issue it was based upon. Also, in reponse to your question as whether I am a part of Babbar Khalsa, the answer is no. Iam not affiliated to any such group, or even any jatha etc. I base my opinions and feelings towards groups/jathas etc solely on what I know about them, and amopen to changing my interpretations. To form my opinion on Babbar Khalsa, I looked at western accounts, government accounts, accounts of members of the organisation, accounts of both pro and anti Khalistan writers, factual observations (eg who was killed), and analysis of these factual observations (ie why certain individuals were targeted etc). IF we look at the actual 'core' Babbar Khalsa, it is clear they are a mechanism for punishing those who cannot be punished in courts, and thus in my opinion are an arm of justice. Additionally, there is also their stance towards striving for soverignity. On the periphery, there may well be individuals who commit acts out of anger etc, or individuals posing as members of Babbar Khalsa who commit such acts. I do not think it is fair that the whole organisation, and especially the core is tarnished as a result of this. Such an act would be akin to someone suggesting all Sikhs are terrorists- absolutely baseless. 89038 so i guess babbar khalsa is ok, ok, ok, i get it now. now i see that they are good intentions. Now, who did blow up the air india flight? Sounds like indian government working again. I guess some members act in bad ways and give the rest of the organizationa bad name. Now that i think about it, i wonder if i should get involved in some sort of group in the future???????
15. <_<  So true, these things are not just going to dissapear, and what about the infrustructure of Khalistan? after we cut ourselfs off of india, we will have to somehow keep up with it. School and roads don't get built by themselves.
16. You act as if i'm not a sikh, and i'm an outsider. so your saying that none of these groups are guilty of doing wrongdoing? edit: are you part of Babbar Khalsa??? Member??
17. very interesting experience, people should learn before they talk. If they did, then these talks would not happen.
18. I'm not calling sikhs terrorists, i'm calling those groups that commit these acts of terrorism terrorists. If i said sikh where terrorists, wouldn't i be do it? No, so stop trying to change the subject. Think logically Bijla Singh, are all sikhs terrorists? no so end of arument. As for sikhs not owning media, we have the waheguroo network, and many other sikh web blogs and communities that operate, including sikh sangat.com. And as for gathering research, i refrained from going onto indian based newspapers and media, i looked at other sources outside of india. I know that indian media can be sided. so the pople that died in the air india bombings are not incent? and what about the crimes that take place in the lower mainland (BC)? please, just because i'm new on the site doesn't mean i do't know anything. So stop treating me as if i don't know anything. You also said "rather you should keep your opinions to yourself." hey, we all have different opinions so your free to say it. again i say, SIKH ARE NOT TERRORISTS, only those that get involve in violent acts to achieve a goal are called terrorists.
19. i'm thinking of changing my name to include the words khalsa and singh. however, not yet.
20. I believe you mean 23rd June 85, as according to the following refrence: http://www.panthic.org/news/123/ARTICLE/1100/2005-03-13.html I was under the impression that the case had not yet been decided, but obviously you know differently. The supposed evidence in this case is also so shallow that it is laughable. Regardless of the outcome of the case, I hardly think it can be accepted as fact that the accused commited this atrocity. 88965 Then who did it? i got my information from many websites that claim that babbar khalsa did it. BK has been involved in other minor acts a violence.
21. bhindranwale was a part hero and leader. He stood up to the indian governemnts recless treatments towards sikhs. He should be praised for the work he did, even if he died. since i'm new, i'm intitled to an opinion on the subject in regards to his actions and aims.
22. comming from another religion i have to say that sikhism is far more superior than many of the worlds religion. We have so many good qualities and are not tainted like so many others. As for all religions being equal, i go by what gurus and leaders say.
23. Just google it bijla, if you see any sikh groups under terrorst headings, you know their there for a reason. i did not say that sikhs are muslims, i was talking about some of the islamic groups that are extremist and how a select few sikh groups (like babbar khalsa) have made some poor dicisions in achieving their goals. and thus are similer in how they behave in regards to kidnapping, and low key bombings. I did do research, i would like for you to explain why: -329 people had to die in the name Khalistan on June 20, 1985 in the air india bombing. "Babbar Khalsa" was linked to it. -the market place bombings in 1997 by a sikh groups called "Saheed Khalsa Force" happened. -countless poeple have died and been threatend in the lower mainland (BC), including the killing of a sikh moderate by "Babbar Khalsa" The fact that these groups are acting in the name of khalistan is bad enough, why should they be giving the rest of us a bad image. I was in a cafe the other day and i was talking to someone on the topic of religion, when i mentioned that i was a sikh they said that they are like terrorists. Of course i was offended by the comments. How does this relate? the few that are doing bad activities re giving the rest of us a bad image and rep. I'm not a terrorist and sikhs are NOT terroroists. again, SIKH ARE NOT TERRORISTS, AND ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE FEW THAT DO THESE BAD THINGS. You said i should stop insulting fellow sikhs, i did not insult anyone, i simply stated my opinion, is there a problem with that? This is an open forum. You also said "stop insulting my gursikh brothers." are they not mine as well? You sound as if your singling me out. I know i'm new, however i'm entitled to a opinion. And i say that Khalistan should be a reality, but not at the cost of other issues. If you want to talk more on this please talk on MSN messenger with me my address is starrdarcy@hotmail.com. I was meaning to ask you if we can talk on this whole khalistan issue. sikhs are not supposed to slander other religions.
24. Ummm, yeah we do have a choice, khalistan isn't going to solve everything. We don't even have the support of all the sikhs. A friend of mine said that there are seperate gurdwaras in one city because each has it's own different view on how it should be operated. If we can't even agree on how a gurdwara should operate, how can we strive for khalistan? Something much more complicated than any group realises. I believe in khalistan, i just think it needs to be taken slowly and with caution. I also think we have other more pressing matters that need more attention. Our youth are slowly being assimliated into western culture, and many are not attending gurdwara as much. Many sikhs are loosing their identity (appearance) and thus are straying from the elders. Sikh militancy is up, already several sikh extremist groups are resorting to violence and terror to achieve their goals (sounds alot like some of these muslim groups). The result is lost suppport from inside the sikh community and divisions. There are other inside problems, why should we be taking on a bigger challenge when we have so many others that need to be looked after? Please i would like to know.
