  1. i agree with S1NGH that is a great attempt!!!!!!! lol i've also tried using the video to tie the gol dastaar like the bhenji but no luck yet! i can't figure out how long the material should be my dad reckons 5 metres is too long for me! can anyone help? my dad tried to saja dastaar on me but it was waaaaaaaay too loose (plus i kinda got cussed for my joora because my hair is layered so it doesn't all tie in)! <_< looks like i have to keep practising! 92804[/snapback] Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeeh! Loose? Are you wearing a keski underneath?
  2. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vahegurooo Ji ka FAteeeeeh! Bibiji, a damala/dastar is this smilie  or :e: A pagh/rain-catcher is this smilie :T: Alot of the youths that I know prefer damalla/dastar because its easier to put on, plus it looks very stylish and they stand out more from the norm. :e:
  3. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsa, vaheguroooo Ji Ka Fateeeh! Not bad at all, I am assuming that this is your first time? I have been wearing my damalla for the last 2 years or so.... it was tieing or should trying times or sometimes frustrating times.... :e: Are you wearing a Keski inside the damalla? A keski makes the damalla more secure and stable. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsa, vaheguroooo Ji Ka Fateeeh!
  4. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vaheguroooo Ji Ka Fateeeeh! :TH: Your fortunate, I regrettable didnt have a postive experience(just over an hour ago) as you have had. I finished work at 5.55 and as I was walking down to my bus-stop, about approximately eight men were walking up (aged betweenlate 30's early 40s), I gave a glance at one as I persumed I knew him as I was crossing the round to get to the other-side. One of em started to mock my bana (form) particularly my dastar and then my kesh (saying "Thats a big hat", then "Thats a big beard"). @ As, I looked at him he shouted "<something>..... Sadam!" <_< I wasn't gonna take that insult, firstly about my bana then linking me to something that is completely out of pretence. I called him over, he cam edown with one of his pals, I asked him "So, you think I am a muslim", he said "Yea!". I corrected him by sayin "I am sorry to burst your bubble but your wrong", he response was "Well, what are you then?". I responded back " A Sikh, a completely different religion, Pal!" He asked whats the difference? I told him that my faith originated in India 500 years ago, we dont believe in a prophet but pay reverence to the guidence of Gurus. We dont get circumcised as it is regarded as mutilation, we dont eat meat nor indulge in intoxicants and we dont bow to mecca!. He was like OK your a Sikh and walked off. Ignorant uneducated baffoon! Remember a Khalsa (even though I am not a Khalsa yet ) is always Thiar pur Thiar!

  9. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeeeh! HINDU NATION : BBCFour 9PM TOMORROW Sir Mark Tully travels through India examining how the collapse of secularism has created a vacuum in which Hindu nationalism is flourishing. He reveals the threat posed to India's tradition of religious pluralism by the growing intolerance and violence of the advocates of a Hindu nation. The tradition of religious pluralism, he argues, can only be restored by a return to the religious tolerance and unity embodied by Mahatma Gandhi. 12. Vahegurooo JI Ka Khalsaaaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeeh! Hello, Guru Arjan Dev Sahib in Ang (Limb) 12, This human body has been given to you|| This is your golden opportunity to meet the Lord of the Universe|| Nothing else will work|| Come join the true congregation, the company of the holy, vibrate and meditate on the jewel of the Naam (gods name)|| One of my friends, he has a bull-terrier dog and when my friend is sitting on the sofa, his dog looks up at him affectionately wagging his tail in awe. One day out of the blue, my mate says to me "Brucey [the name of the dog] wants to be where I am sitting". Therefore, are human life is so precious and so short that we dont realise this because our mind is deluded by Maya and doesnt comprehend what the aim of this life is even when we are presented with the reason/truth by Guru Sahib. With regards to Judgement Day, as stated previously we don't acknowledge this because according to Sikhi we are being judged by our own actions per sencond, per miniute, per hour, per day, per month, per year and so forth as Guru Granth Sahibji states in Ang (limb) 347 : Chitar and Gupt, the recording angels of the consious and sub-conscious, sing to You; they know, and they write, and on the basis of what they write, the Lord of Dharma passes judgement|| Therefore, at Ang(limb) 38, The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice.|| Then in Ang (limb) When the Righteous Judge seizes you and interrogates you, O madman, what answer will you give him then||

  17. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeh! Anything to do with BBCs Desi DNA - 3HO What all Sikhs should do.. is stop watching this anti-sikh channel and lets see what they will do when suddenly they're ratings plummet. Dont forget we pay them 33p per day through our TV licences, thats equivalent to 6 hours worth of Sky Premier and 20p newspaper - 13p left over to indulge in what ever we want! :T: Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeh!
  18. Vaheguroo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vaheguroo Ji ka Fateeeh! The link was working this morning where is it gone? It is now coming up with suspended_page? Quick response will be appreciated Vaheguroo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vaheguroo Ji ka Fateeeh!
  19. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaah, Vahegurooo Ji Ka Fateeeh! A silly question, of course I did, I will be looking to transfer it onto my PC this evening when I return home from work. If anyone who missed it and wants a copy please send me your MSN, my E-mail address is Sikhi@lycos.co.uk and I'll send you the file. It was a glowing report compared to last years BBCs attempt with Sikhs and the City and that so-called Sikh Sonia Deol. However, to the mentioned show, the program presenter did give a good incite into 3HO and how they practised Sikhi with their 101% dedication to their amrit velas, Naam Jap, Sikhi ideology of Body, Mind and Wealth (Dhan Mun Than). The presenter refers to the 3HO way of life as orthodox. I never knew that within Sikhi there was two routes one conventional and the other contemporary. I always looked at the viewpoint that Sikhi being a very progressive, positive and not restricted to time and space way of life. Not to belittle the presenter, she makes it out that 3HO only follow Sikhi how it is revealed through the Satgurus and Guru Granth Sahibji. If the presenter makes efforts in finding sangat that follow Gurmat I am sure she will come across many her own age in her very local city or town she resides in. I recommend that she attends and experiences Khalsa Camp. In addition to this the presenter referred to the Gursikhs as "White Sikhs", I am sure that the "White Sikhs" would have been offended by being catergorized as this label. All I saw were Khalse Gursikhs who lived by their rehit set by Guru sahib. It was nice to see that the presenter was touched by the sangats pyar for Guru Sahib as Sikhi is a very personal and emotional journey from manmukh to Gurmukh and it was nice to hear how she said she was questioning her faith. Vahegurooo Ji Ka Khalsaaaah, Vaheguroooo Ji Ka Fateeeeh!
