  1. N30 S1NGH Where does the Damdami Taksal fit in under all of this?
  2. Please refer to this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gaganskhalsa/6976315494/in/set-72157629546114134 This Beerh is from 1755 Bikrami, 1698 AD, one year before the creation of the Khalsa. It is currently at Takhat Sri Patna Sahib. The Bani Zafarnamaa is not included in it as it was written 6 years after this Beerh was compiled in 1704 AD.
  3. I translated this a few years ago it is very rough but its something. Rehraas Sahib The paat of Sri Rehraas Sahib has nine shabds from SGGS, and then there is Chaupai Sahib, some dohras, Anand Sahib, mundvani, pauri and a salok. 2॥ This is where Rehraas sahib is up to. So the Chaupai Sahib and Dohras that come Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee has told us to recite these, so Gursikhs have time to recite some Dasam Bani. So Bhai Mani SInghs Panj Granthi has these dohraas in them. Bhai Mani Singh wrote In his Gutka sahib the Rehraas that was recited at that time. So in those old granths the sampooran and correct Rehraas Sahib is written. And in the Damdami Taksal, this Rehraas sahib has been preserved. In the takhats people that have been in control have changed it and made their own maryadas up. So at sri darbar sahib in 1920 ad, a new group of people called the gargujas took control. For 5 years they continued to recite the complete Rehraas sahib. When Klaas waleea kartar singh become the Granthi at darbar sahib. He and some other people got together and said we should shorten Rehraas sahib just like the panch khandeea bhasaureeas have done. That is the Rehraas we should read. We should read 25 pauria in chaupai sahib. So after that they started reading it up to dust dokh tai leho bachaee. They also took out the last three shabads, thatai too samrat, antar gurd, and rakhai rakhanhar. So they started reading half of Rehraas sahib at sri darbar sahib. They did this for about 5-6 years. So at darbar sahib upto 1923 the complete Rehraas was read without any debates. But in 1923 there was some talk about shortening it, but until 1926 the complete rehrras was still read at darbar sahib. Then in 1932 for the first time the short Rehraas was read at darbar sahib. So the grathi singh read the short Rehraas and stood up to do Ardaas, but the rest of the Sangat continued to do the complete Rehraas. The Granthi singh was the only one standing so he sat down, only after the complete Rehraas was read did the Sangat do Ardaas. This happened in 1932. So the next day they brought 200 men and forced their Maryada at sri Akaal Takhat sahib and sri darbar sahib. At first the complete Rehraas that comes in the puratan pothia and gutkai was read at all takhats and gurdwarai and by all Gursikhs. At the time when Central Maja Divan and Panch Khandeea Divans were made the trned to shorten bani started. During the Akaali Movement they printed gutkai with these shortened bania. This is how the puratan and complete Rehraas was shortened down. So as guru jee hast started the Gursikhs should follow that Maryada and not any new maryadas. Following guru jees Maryada we make guru jee happy and follow the path they started. If we use our own thinking then we will lose our faith and respect for guru jee. By reading shortened bani we are losing the fal(profit) we get from reciting the complete version, and on the other hand we are collecting sins by disregarding guru jee’s Maryada. Reading shortened bani does not make our guru happy, we should read the complete version, then guru jee will listen to our Ardaas’s and bless us with true happinesss and give us whatever we want.
  4. Thank You Bhai Mehtab Singh! I have been looking for this for ages now!
  5. GSMANN Do you have any other info on Bhai Hardas Jee? Or about his saroops, any books about his saroop that was destroyed in 1984?

  7. Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee Bhindranwale on Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee http://gurmatbodh.bl...indranwale.html Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee had a lot of love for any Gurmukh Pyara that kept Rehat and did a lot of Naam Abhiaas. In Sant Jee's writings and Katha many times you can hear Sant Jee referring to himself as the dust at the feet of those Gurmukhs that keep Rehat and are Guru-Valey. In Dehli, foreigners (the British) tore down a wall at Gurdwara Sahib Rakab Ganj, the Singhs ( Bhai Sahibs Jatha) became aware of this and were ready to die to protect the Gurdwara Sahib. Bhai Randhir Singh went himself to give his life and protect the Gurdwara Sahib, Sant Randhir Singh is a Naam Abhiaasee Gurmukh, and does Akhand Keertan to his heart's content । । For 17 years he was imprisoned but still kept a strong Sarblohi Pehra, Great and Blessed are those beloved Gumukhs that are physically and mentally imbued with the love of Akaal Purakh. Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee's student, Bhagat Jaswant Singh Jee (Bhagat Jee) has written beautifully about Bhai Sahib: He calls Bhai Sahib: Worthy of great respect and honour, Bhai Sahib the one that gets great sweetness from Gurbani, The Great Keertani, Complete Mahapurkh Bhai Randhir Singh Sahib Jee. The love Bhagat Jee has for Bhai Sahib is clear here. Here is a story Bhagat Jee wrote in his book, in a section where he condemns the eating of meat. The Puratan Singhs did not let a few small differences get in between their love for each other. We should learn from the lessons the older Singhs have taught us.

Ekta-Unity in the Panth http://gurmatbodh.bl...12/01/ekta.html One thing that is lacking in the Panth today is Ekta, or unity amongst Gursikhs. In my opinion Ekta is when you accept another Gursikh’s opinions on certain controversial issues and don’t let it get between your Gursikhi Prem. There are many stories that I have heard of Gursikhs from the Damdami Taksal and Akhand Keertani Jatha, and how much prem they had for each other. Over the past 30-40 years these two Jathebandis have given the most for the Panth. On Vasakhi 1978 it was these two Jathebandis that spoke out against the Nakli Nirankaris, who were disrespecting the Sikh Gurus. Sant Kartar Singh in the early 70’s held protests and nagar keertans against the Nirankaris. Then in 1978 under Sant Jarnail Singh the Taksal and the AKJ under Bhai Fauja Singh peacefully protested against them. Everyone knows the story of what happened next and the 13 Singhs that gave their life protecting the honour of their Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. More can be read here: Vaisakhi 1978 and here: Vaisakhi 1978These two jathebandis stood shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand against Beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. One of the first stories I heard was the amount of love Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee and Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee had for each other. These two Brahmgiani Gursikhs who had a few different opinions on some issues, yet there Rehat and Maryada was virtually the same. Sant Gurbachan Singh’s love and respect for Bhai Sahib is clear in a poem they wrote about Bhai Sahib: । । The amount of respect and love Sant Jee had for Bhai Sahib is clear in this poem. Calling Bhai Sahib a Sant, writing about the sacrifices Bhai Sahib made and still kept Sarbloh Bibek. Dhan Guroo Ke Pyare. Another time, Bhai Joginder Singh Jee (Talwara) invited Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee to their house for an Akhaand Paat Sahib, Talwara Jee told Sant Jee the Bhog would be after Mundavnee and Raagmala would not be read. Still Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee came and did Katha after the Bhog. Gursikhs like Sant Gurbachan Singh didn`t care when Bhog was, as long as it was one with piaar. They knew that those that do not believe in Raag mala only do not believe in it because of their piaar for Guru Jee. Today we see Sikhs getting into physical fights over these issues. Another story that comes to mind is the amount of Love Sant Kartar Singh had for Bhai Jeevan Singh and the other Jatha Singhs at the time. Whenever Bhai Jeevan Singh Jee came to Mehta for Rainsbhai Keertans Sant Kartar Singh would spread his Hazooria on the ground and get Bhai Sahib to sit on it and then would serve Bhai Sahib langar. Master Niranjan Singh a Keertani from the Akhand Keertani Jatha says in a video recording that every year the Jatha used to go to Mehta, the headquarters of the Damdami Taksal to the Barsi Smagam of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee, they would do Keertan and other seva. The Taksali Singhs would show a lot of love and one could not differentiate between who was a Taksali Singh and who was a Jatha Singh. The Taksali Singhs never once brought up the issue of Raagmala. Sant Kartar Singh used to organize Nagar Keertans and the Jatha used to go to them to do Keertan. The Taksal owned a car, and Sant Kartar Singh used to make the Jatha Singhs sit on top of the car, rather than walk. So much love between these Gursikhs. During the 1980s when Sant Jarnail Singh was the Head of the Taksal, the Taksal was invited by the Jatha to an Akhaand Paat Sahib, so Sant Jarnail Singh and some of the Taksali singhs went to the Bhog. When the Bhog was done at Mundavnee one of the Taksali Singhs shouted out,”Oh aren’t you going to read Raag Mala?” Sant Jarnail Singh took this Singh outside and slapped him, and told him “Everything was going so peacefully, so much Anand, why did you ruin that Anand by shouting that out!” This was the love Gursikhs had for each other. We should all aspire to create this ekta in the Panth!
  10. What is needed to bring back Larreevaar Parkash is to educated the masses that don't know the difference. Any Gursikh that has pyaar for Guru Sahib can be easily convinced about this issue. After that all Gurdwara Sahibs need to be convinced to do Parkaash exclusively of Larreevaar, but this is the hard part. I have personal experience with this it is very hard to get a committee to do this. Many of the Granthis arnt able to read Larreevaar, in my opinion they aren't Granthis at all. What kind of Granthi can't read his own Guru? It is a difficult task but if everyone can start pressuring their local committees we can make a big change. Now can everyone list out the Gurdware in their area that only do Parkaash of Larreevaar? In BC I know that Khalsa School Gurdwara Sahib only does Parkash of Larreevaar. In Ontario I Know Tapoban Sahib Only does Larreevar Parkash. I have also Heard Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Malton only does Parkash of Larrevaar as well can anyone confirm this?
  11. I agree Krishan cannot be in Sachkhand, however I have heard Sant Jagjit Singh say that Krishan is God and where ever he goes it is Sach Khand. Perhaps Neo Singh can clarifiy this point. This is the stuff that I meant in my earlier posts that is not Gurmat. How can Krishan be in Sach Khand when Guru Gobind Singh Jee in Sri Dasam Granth writes: A Shiva was born, he passed away, another Shiva was born again (such gods took birth several times and expired), Likewise there have been many incarnations of Ramchandra and Krishna. There have been many Brahmas and Vishnus; Many Vedas, Pura1).as and a multitude of Simrities were composed but they all passed away.
The Importance of Larreevaar http://gurmatbodh.bl...larreevaar.html Khalsa Jee when it comes to respecting Gurbani the highest form of respect we can give our Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee is accept its True Form, which is the Larreevaar Form. For those that do not know what Larreevaar is: it is how Gurbani was originally written by our Gurus. Instead of there being spaces in between each word, all the words are connected for example like this: The above picture is from A Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee written in the 18th Century. A Pad Chhed saroop (Pad Chhed is when the words are split up) looks like this: Whatever the Guru did is for our betterment, it is to help us. So when the Guru Decided to write Gurbani in Larreevaar Format, it was up to the Guru to decide and it is up to us to believe and follow that command of the Guru: ਸਤਿਗੁਰਕੀਬਾਣੀਸਤਿਸਤਿਕਰਿਜਾਣਹੁਗੁਰਸਿਖਹੁ O GurSikhs, know that the Bani, the Word of the True Guru, is true, absolutely true. Whatever Guru Jee does is perfect, because he himself is perfect: ਪੂਰੇਕਾਕੀਆਸਭਕਿਛੁਪੂਰਾਘਟਿਵਧਿਕਿਛੁਨਾਹੀ ॥ All that the Perfect Lord does is perfect; there is not too little, or too much So for a Gursikh it is natural to accept what the Guru has done, and not change anything. Guru Sahib gave us Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee which is perfect nothing can be added on and nothing can be taken out. So when Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee are printed and they are not Larreevaar it is a great disrespect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. We are telling Guru Jee, sorry Guru Jee, we didn’t like how you were originally, so we changed you. Can you imagine going up to Guru Nanak Dev Jee and saying Guru Jee sorry but your kes are getting too long, here can you cut them a little bit so I will like them? NO! Such an act is horrendous to even think about then, how can we go up to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee who is the very light of Guru Nanak Dev Jee and say hey Guru Jee you are too hard to read (Larreevaar as all the words are joined) it would be much easier for me if the words were split up. When we do this we are committing a big sin! Nothing is worse than disrespecting your Guru. So for this reason it is a humble appeal to Gursikhs to only do Parkash of your True Guru, Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj in their True form, of Larreevaar. If only we take a stance against the printing and doing Parkash of Pad Chhed will this epidemic stop. It is not wrong to say that Larreevaar Saroop is our true Guru, because it is. Our Guru is the saroop that was given Gurta Gaddi in 1708 by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee, which is Larreevaar. So for a Gursikh to say that only Larreevaar is the True Guru and not Pad Chhed is only the truth and nothing else. Pad Chhed Saroops are deserving of respect as they still contain Gurbani, but they cannot be called our Guru. Sant Giani Kartar Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale 13th Jathedar of the Damdami Taksal whilst doing Katha says says that doing Pad Chhed of Gurbani is "Atyant Mana Hai", and says that "eh manmat hai, eh nahee karnee chaeedee". They say this practice is extremely forbidden, these words are reminiscent of Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee's words who said that doing Pad Chhed is "Maha Manmat". If such amazing Gursikhs like Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee and Sant Giani Kartar Singh Jee were so against this disease of Pad Chhed then we should put all our efforts into stopping Parkash of Pad Chhed and doing Parkash of only Larreevaar, which is our True Guru! May Guru Jee bless the Panth with the ability to only do Parkash of Larreevaar Saroops. For Further information regarding Larreevaar Saroops please refer to the following: http://www.tapoban.org/article/51 http://tapoban.org/T...20is%20Lost.pdf http://www.gurmatbib...nts.php?id=1931 Vaahiguroojeekakhalsa Vaahiguroojeekeefateh

  15. Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee and Bibek Everything is from this site: http://gurmatbodh.blogspot.ca/2012/01/bhagat-jaswant-singh-jee-on-bibek.html http://gurmatbodh.blogspot.ca/2012/01/sant-gurbachan-singh-jee-khalsa.html Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee all their life kept a Strong Bibeki Pehra. Daas had the chance to Talk to a few of Sant Jee's students, one being Bhagat Jaswant Singh Jee (of http://gursevak.com). I asked them if Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee kept Sarbloh Bibek. What Bhagat Jee said was originally Sant Jee did keep Sarbloh Bibek and did so for a while. They only stopped when they got really old but still went all over India to do parchar. With an old body and the amount of travelling they did it became hard for them to keep Sarbloh Bibek, but nonetheless they still kept a strong Bibeki Pehra. They would only eat food made by Amrit Dhari Singhs that was made while they recited Bani. Bhagat Jee said the entire Jatha was bibeki and only ate from Amrit Dharis. Infact the Laangri Singhs and Degh Sevadaars were very strict Bibeki Singhs. When they were doing Seva they never spoke anything but recited Gurbani and did jaap of vaahigurooo vaahigurooo vaahigurooo. Sant Gurbachan Singh in their writings and Katha make it clear how important Bibek is in Sikhi. Sant Kartar Singh writes about Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee's Bibeki Pehra: If a Mona, or someone that smoked made any langar, sweets, etc. Sant Jee would not eat it or let any of the Jatha eat it. They kept a lot of cleanliness. They would never eat any Joot or let anyone else in the Jatha eat any Joot. Sant Jee were against the usage of Cha (Tea), Opium and other intoxicating drugs. Importance of Sarbloh Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee keeping the importance of Sarbloh says that during an Amrit Sanchar all utensils used should be of Sarbloh. The Baltee, Garva, Bate, Karahee,Khanda, Kirpan etc. everything that is used to make Degh and Amrit should be of Sarbloh. Degh should always be made in Sarbloh, with a Sarbloh Karaahee, Sarbloh Karshee. When Bhog is done the Kirpaan should be of Sarbloh. Bhagat Jaswant Singh (Student of Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee) on Sarbloh Bibek Bhagat Jaswant Singh Jee (Lovingly called Bhagat Jee) is a student of Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee Bhindranwale, here he shares his views on Sarbloh Bibek. Below is the original from one of their Books, and a Humble translation: "ਜਿਸ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗ ਲੁਆਇਆ ਹੈ,ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ? That food even it has been blessed by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee (i.e. Kirpan Bhet), but it was not made according to complete maryada and utmost cleanliness was not kept while making the food, and Sarbloh Utensils were not used, then we should not tell a Bibeki Gursikh, to eat that food, instead we should correct ourselves, and make the food in Sarbloh, with complete maryada and cleanliness. Bhagat Jee then shares some more thoughts on Sarbloh Bibek, they are presented below with translations: "ਨੌਨ ਸਟਿਕ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ, ਸਟੀਲ, ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰੋ ਜੀ, ਕੇਵਲ ਸਰਬਲੋਹ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਵਰਤਣੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ..." Here Bhagat Jee says to never use non-stick, steel, or brass utensils, only use sarbloh utensils. Bhagat Jee says it is very important to use Sarbloh utensils. The Greatness of Sarbloh- Recognize that Sarbloh Bibek is a great gift given to us by Guru Jee so because of this we should respect and recognize the greatness of Sarbloh Bibek. Don't get turned off by the colour of food made in Sarbloh, i.e daal turns a blackish colour. Daal and Sabzee made in Sarbloh is extremely tasty! Bhai Gurdas Jee writes that even the dirtiest and dirtiest of things can be made even dirtier when a bad person looks at them, in this Shabad: The meat of dog cooked in the wine was, Along with its foul smell, kept in the human skull. It was covered with blood stained cloth. Covering thus, the scavenger woman (chuhari) after appeasing her lust was carrying that bowl. On being asked about (the abominable covered material) she cleared the doubt, ੯ ॥ By saying that she had covered the meat to hide it from the sight of an ungrateful person to avoid its pollution.(9) Bhagat Jee is saying that Langar made today in a Gurdwara is made by those that smoke, drink, and have bad character, so for this reason this food should not be eaten by Gursikhs. So Gursikhs should prepare langar in Sarbloh and eat that. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee started Sarbloh Bibek Maryada 300 years ago, Guru Jee knew the health benefits of cooking and eating in Sarbloh, these same benefits are only now being discovered by Doctors. This is Hukam of Guru Jee for his Sikhs to cook and eat in Sarbloh. After making food in Sarbloh it should be stored in Mitee or Chinee vale Bhande. To make Bibeki Langar the utensils should be properly cleaned. Those making langar should not be wearing jewellery (i.e bangals, rings etc.). Wash the water pump or where ever you get water from properly with soap and water before using the water. Food that is made outside like paneer, pakoria, seveean should not be used. Use home made version, use home made butter. Everyone that is making langar should be amrit dhari or should promise to take amrit soon. Those that do Seva in Panj Pyare are not allowed to drink Cha at all, infact they should not even use the utensil that has ever been used to make cha. If cha is made for the rest of the sangat, the person making it should not touch anything else. After making the Langar, the sevaadaars should leave it in a clean place. Singhs of the Jatha (Jatha Bhindran) will distribute it themselves. Whilst making the food, the sevadaars should never touch their face, feet, etc.
  16. I am pretty sure the first mangal is from Sri Gurmukh Parkash written by Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee Khalsa
  17. Well what is implied is that Gursikhs only eat from the Hands of other Gursikhs. I'll tell you my personal experience, my whole family is Athiest. I cook my own food, and just eat by myself. It's simple for me, but for others it may not be. It all depends on how strict you are with Bibek. What I have posted above is translated from Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee's writings.
  18. Thank you. I had a chance of listening to this live on ATN, Baba Jee's Katha is just something else.
  19. Well said Bhai Sahib. Baba Ranjit Singh may not be perfect (i.e mistake of birthday party, and I may not agree with his wearing colourful Bana and Dastars) but he has joined people to Sikhi and got them to turn away from falsehood. I don't know who you are, but one time a few people asked me if I was onlyfive on sikhsangat.com, I had no idea who that was.
  20. Can you ask Baba Jee to expan on Sarbloh Bibek, and Bibek in general, eating only from Amrit Dharis, eating from Normal Langar in Gurdware these days?
  21. There is no Hatred towards Monai and non-Gursikhs, this is just rehat of the Khalsa. Who the Khalsa eats with associates with etc.
  22. This beerh is from 1755 Bikrami, 1698 AD, one year before the creation of the Khalsa. It is currently at Takhat Sri Patna Sahib. The Bani Zafarnamaa is not included in it as it was written 6 years after this Beerh was compiled in 1704 AD. Giani Sant Singh Jee Maskeen on Sri Charitropaakhian
  23. Yes!! Great to know someone else who feels the same way. I was starting to worry that all this Vedant Manmat has taken over Gurmat!
