  1. The last thing we would not like to see is a child being upset from an Internet forum, so if the OP says he is 13yrs old we should think of as our own child and as Harsharan ji said deal with it in the best way we can as not to offend, hopefully he will get the answers to his questions. Waheguru
  2. Hanji this is what I was trying to do, to find out if somebody is putting him up to asking these questions or that if he has some problems that he's not able to understand as 13yrs is a young for a child to understand as an adult would so quickly. Also as bullying has been mentioned so my main concern is if he is being bullied or his school friends are asking for proof of his religion.
  3. Jagsaw paji he wrote he's 13years old, so I'm only replying to what I've read. It's difficult to tell as 13 year olds are quite intelligent nowadays, and he keeps going on about science. Science vich soohi fasi a. Hanji you are right about the parents bit, but that I asked to make sure if he is the age he says. I haven't read all his posts, so I'm sorry if I've not given the right advise. I was also thinking that at 13yrs these sort of questions didn't cross my mind, especially the spiritual ones, but I didn't know his age, as he states until this morning.
  4. To Canadian Singh, the best thing for you would be to attend a Sikhi camp for children your age and you can ask any questions you have there as there will also be same age group, plus lots of activities you can participate in to learn all about Sikhi. You may have missed them this year, but depending on what area you are in there may still be some on.
  5. Have you asked your parents these questions dear child? Are you concentrating on your school work? You seem to be asking a lot of questions for others. It would be interesting to know who these people who want proof are? Are they your school friends?
  6. Firstly dear child why are you talking about bullying and fighting? No this is not a good example. If there is bullying and fighting in a school you should tell an adult or teacher. Is anybody being bullied at your school?
  7. The OP is only 13 years old, and just inquisitive as children that age normally are. but feel maybe diverting from school work. searching for answers and the science bit, lol, well that age group science is what they are taught at school, so they know of no other. Don't worry about skeptics child, who are the skeptics? Just do what you do and if anybody is asking you things you do not know tell them to research themselves.
  8. There was a programme on Sikh Channel, Sikh Council UK update on Anand Karaj protocol this evening. I recorded it but can't upload on here.
  9. Hanji Balkaar ji this is nice, I've not been a fan of Kanwar Grewals songs, but I like this concept and has been done very well.
  10. A comment from a commenter from the below link: "The people have been blinded by the 5 demons (Kam, Krodh, lobh, Moh, Hankaar), the seeds they sow turn to blood because of their ill gotten gains and this is what they feed to their families. Only the children can see through the cloud because their innocence has not been corrupted yet. When the lover of God (Sat Guru) blesses them with his presence he washes their sins so they can see through this cloud and leads them to follow the true path. "
  11. Congratulations on Winning the contest. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/66439-waheguru/
  12. The soul is the only one that stays, the rest is an illusion. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/The_body_shall_turn_to_dust,_and_the_soul_shall_fly_away Ḏehī hovag kẖĝk pavaṇ udĝ▫ī▫ai. Ih kithai gẖar a▫uṯĝk mahal na pĝ▫ī▫ai.(4) The body shall turn to dust, and the soul shall fly away. So where are their homes and resting places now? They do not find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, either. Those who are caught and entangled in these are carried away by sensual desire. (3) (SGGS Ang336) Our deeds from past lives and this life reflect upon our soul. Soul The "Atma" or "Soul" according to Sikhism is an entity or "spiritual spark" or "light" in our body because of which the body can sustain life. On the departure of this entity from the body, the body becomes lifeless - No amount of manipulations to the body can make the person make any physical actions. The soul is the driver in the body. It is the roohu or spirit or atma, the presence of which makes the physical body alive. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Soul It is time and again stressed in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib that there is only One Amrit that the mind (or Aatmaa) can drink or eat. And that One Amrit is the Naam (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ, ਬਾਣੀ). The Gur-Shabad defines Amrit as follows: ਸਲੋਕ ਮਹਲਾ ੨ ॥ : Salok Mahala 2 || Jin vadiaaee tere Naam kee te ratte mann maahi. Nanak Amrit ek hai doojaa Amrit naahi. Nanak Amrit manai maahi paaeeai gur parsaadi. tinhee peetaa rang siou jinh kaou likhiaa aadi|| 1||: Salok Mahala 2: (O Lord!) Those who are blessed with the glorious greatness of Your Naam (ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਭਾਗਤਾ) - their minds are imbued with Your Love (the Love of Your Naam - ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ). O Nanak! There is only One Amrit (i.e, the Naam-Amrit); there is no other Amrit at all (i.e., they do not consider anything else as Amrit). O Nanak! (This Naam) Amrit is within the mind (of everybody, but it is), obtained by "Gur Parsaadi" (Grace of the Gur-Giaan...). They alone drink it in with love, who are so destined by the Primal Lord. ||1|| (sggs 1238). Gurbani.org
