  1. How are you worshipping a being that contradicts Himself? explain that. And you say you can't see Him, so he may not be there. Well, who created everything then? Athiests say gases and elements were always here, how is that possible? How could they just have 'been' here without someone creating them? If electrons were just a tiny bit slower, if protons were just a little smaller, nothing would exist. The molecules would be out of whack. How could this order be there without Someone having put this order in? Earth is protected from many dangerous threats from outer space (ie. asteroids) and is the perfect distance from the Sun for us to exist. It contains resources for us to live on. It gives us life. Someone has put these resources there. How could these Saints be free from the spell of Maya without Him? God keeps them detached. If there wasn't anything there, what would these Saints be praying to? If there wasn't something there, how could these Saints remain detached? Without religion, life's empty, so empty. Do you really believe that "this is it"? DO you believe that this is the max. happiness we'll ever achieve? Going out to parties, hanging out with friends, is this the max happiness? And we're never always happy either, except the Saints of course. We feel bad sometimes, we're never at extreme bliss. We're on a lonely roller coaster where we believe the maximum happiness we'll ever get is form drugs, intoxicants, friends, social gatherings, and other pleasures, all the while experiencing bad times. It's all very empty without God. God gives us extreme bliss for eternity, he saves us from reincarnations.
  2. Yea, but when the screens off it should be fine? I guess when the screens on to the app it should be treated like a Gutka, just in a digital form. I used to compare it too a Gutka being in a museum exhibit behind glass, the glass being the mobiles screen, and we were just touching the glass but even then, if were to pick up the "exhibit", we should care for it with both our hands, not fling it to the side, and treat it with the utmost respect. I guess we've come to a conclusion?
  3. WJK WJF I have an app on my iPod, as im certain many of you do too, called Gurbani Anywhere that contains the whole of SGGSJM. My question is should we wash our hands, hold the iPod/iPhone with 2 hands, and treat it just as we would a normal Gutka? WJK WJF
  4. This is nothing new Singho, our history is filled with mislead hatred, whether it be from the Mughals of old, Hindus of 1984, or whites of today. This is no different. I'm sure the Mughals would have been saying similar stuff as this ignoramus.
  5. WJK WJF Is there any way to know if your close to God's Darshan? Any signs/symptoms I guess you could call them. Thanks Below is just posted a beautiful Shabad for your hearing pleasure: Bhai Baldev Singh
  6. Thanks for the reply Veer Ji, but I was looking for something where the person reading seems to 'sing' more. While the links you gave me were great, and I will listen to them, I was searchnig for somehting else. Something along the lines of this, which was posted here earlier:
  7. WJK WJF I was wondering if anyone knows an album, person, link, recording, ..etc. where the reader of Gurbani is doing it with real prem and gives the listener Anand. I'm not looking for Shabad recordings, something more along the lines of this : It's absolutely beautiful and was looking for more recordings like it. PLEASE and Thank you!
  8. WJKWJF With Gods mercy, I was trying to get more into Sikhism and realized now that friends can distract you from God, with all these outings and such, and that to get higher spiritually, you can't hang out with them a lot. Well, I was trying to separate myself from the crowd and love I had for my friends before is kind of wearing off (it was fake love I know) and I know that's good, but why do I feel guilty? How do I get over this feeling? I think it's because my mind feels bad for them because I distanced myself from them. Its like it's saying they loved you, and you turned your back on them. How do I make it understand?
  9. Thanks to the both of you.
  10. WJKWJF Does anyone have links to katha where the person doing prachar speaks of experiences in his life or other Gursikhs? Like, I was listening to a katha where the person spoke about how a bibi would get up at Amritvela and she got Guru's Darshan telling her that He would take her away the next day to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's home. i would like katha like that, where the person basically tells inspiring stories often along with his katha. Thanks
  11. That's sad. I'm going to California this spring. Anyone from Cali or anyone who went there, is racism against those with turbans a problem there?
  12. Whatever happens in one's life is predetermined by their karam. If someone dies peacefully, it was through God's mercy and due to that person's karam. Others may have bad karam and die more painfully. Also remember that in a disaster, thousands don't die in an instant nor do they die in the same way. As determined by their karam, some may have died sleeping, others may have been fearful, others could have died fast, others could have been stuck under something and died of starvation. It's all karam.
  13. Veer Ji, Sant Ji went to Sachkand far before 2009. Also, the first slide says '1975'.
  14. Well that's good, and hopefully you never encounter it. I just wanted to know because there's an extremely upsetting video on youtube on how a couple of Sikhs were treated in Cleveland when they went to a football game and was wondering if things like that happened to Sikhs in mostly white cities often.
  15. WJKWJF With growing intolerance, more and more Sikhs are being targeted at airports and other places and are the object of blunt stares by the ignorant. Most of these occurrences do not, thankfully, lead to physical altercations, though I'm curious and wanted to ask if anyone here on this site had actually gotten into a physical fight with a racist while traveling abroad? WJKWJF
  16. Could you write the video links please? This topic interests me. Thanks
  17. Ignorance is everywhere I guess then. Thanks for the well thought out response though.
  18. WJKWJF After hearing what the British PM said about extremist Muslim groups, I noticed Sikhs supporting him, as we should, terrorism is bad, but I couldn't help but wonder whether the British public would view Sikhs and Muslims the same? I'm not sure how educated the British public is, do they know the difference between Muslims and Sikhs? Do they know Sikhs are against these terrorists and support the PM, or do they think of Sikhs as a problem as well? Do they know that almost no Sikh indorces violence? I'm from Canada btw.
  19. I think it was more a jab at the ignorance of America
  20. The creators of these groups will reap what they sow in the end...
  21. WJKWJF Just thought the Sangat may benefit from this. http://beemp3.com/download.php?file=5173041&song=Simran The Simran is an hour long, and they sing it with such prem, it's amazing.
