  1. Well done to the people at Vismaad. It was a shame that some dirty rotten criminals were selling pirate copies of their first production in Canada. The company had no external funding for the Sahibzade animation. They were reliant on DVD sales to finance the company. But some lowlife dogs had the nerve to sell pirate copies.
  2. Another Jullunduriya. So you in Model Town or Defence Colony ? LionKing you ever been to Darya Ganj ? Delhi has some of the best book shops in the world (I am not kidding). They may not stock much Chattar and Jiwan Singh books but if you want any other book published by a major publisher (Oxford Uni Press, Harper Collins, Penguin, Roli, Viking, Punjab Uni etc etc) then you cannot go wrong in Delhi especially in Darya Ganj. You would be surprised at the books available. As for the old delhi belly. Firstly prevention is better than cure. I urge you not to eat anything that is frozen especially ice creams (even the Walls ones). They are usually refrozen and as such full of gand which can give you the runs. Drink lots of fluids. Foodwise stick to things you have seen being cooked and make sure the place is clean. Loperamide tablets can help bung you up for 5/6 hours if you do get the runs. Watch out for pirate copies of books. You may laugh but they do exist. They are usually very crude photocopies binded together.
  3. May, June July and August are the best times to go. There are a lot less NRI so you have thr run of the towns, shops etc. Most the locals tend to stay indoors during the midday sun but hey if you are NRI you can go out in that weather. The only thing to worry about is the monsoon as the rain can flash flood areas in towns for a few hours as the drainage is rubbish. Driving vehicles is easy in India. Just dodge the people, cows, monkeys, tractors, mules etc etc and you cannot go wrong. With regards to books and kirtan cds read the reply I posted to yor last request.
  4. Yes I have put a whole years worth of weddings to wreck into a spreadsheet. Let me know and you can have a copy :TH: What better way to spend a weekend than wrecking weddings. Have you got any plans for more beadbi ?
  5. Please pardon my ignorance but why will Bhai Sahib Ji be going to Huddersfield ? The last time I went the Gurdwara was running a party hall called the Sikh Community Centre and I heard the other Gurdwara also had a party centre. If he goes there I hope he takes the opportunity to tell the committee wale off and ask them to put a stop to their nasha paani party halls.
  6. It is people with a belief set similar to yours who want to treat Guru Mahraj in the same manner that Christians etc treat the bible. If it was down to individuals like you people would be walking around with Guru Ji under their arms. Defending your Guru Ji does not make you a fanatic. One has to study the teachings of Guru Ji to be able to write quotes. Please feel free to use quotes to enforce your views. The simple fact of the matter is that your original post was full of spite it demonstrated exactly your understanding of Sikhi. People like you remind me of those who followed the Din-e-Ilahi faith. So are you some sort of superbeing that has the ability to judge others ? As for a real bore, your initial and subsequent posts have been boring and full of anger. Thats a bit of a climb down. Just two minutes ago I thought we had found the new Dr Gopal Singh Ji.
  7. Even an "off on" singh does not tie a dastaar as if he is an extra from the Sinbad films.
  8. The mindless thugs have managed to pick up a few seats. Barking stands out where they have got a few BNP voted onto the local council. Now we have Blair undertaking a cabinet reshuffle. As they say prevention is better than cure. He has acted too late. If he had sacked the fumblin Clarke and the groping Prescott perhaps it would have had an impact.
  9. Someone should ask Dr Bachan and Kiranjit Kaur what exactly they did during their tenures in the SGPC to preserve Sikh heritage. The Kar Sewa wale heritage destruction builders have been given a free reign to destroy anything they want in India by the SGPC. These two are guilty of being party to this as they remained mute spectators as the kar sewa wal destroyed everything and anything. The following page illustrates the SGPC approved destruction http://www.punjabheritage.org/index.php?op...d=358&Itemid=41 Lahore’s Dera Sahib Gurdwara in disrepair By SSNews, newkerala May 4, 2006, 18:28 Email this article Printer friendly page Contrary to the Pakistan Government’s claims that international level preparations were afoot to observe the 400th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev ji, the fifth spiritual leader of Sikhs in Tarn Taran, the Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore is in an utter state of neglect. Even after getting liberal donations from Sikhs all over the world for renovation of the Sikh shrines in Pakistan, the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee (PSGPC) has failed to save and rebuild the Shrine. Cracks are easily visible on the wall of Dera Sahib Gurdwara. The frescos, which were considered to be prepared few centuries ago, have either been replaced by bathroom tiles or been with whitewash. What is even more astonishing is that centuries-old paintings and murals at Dera Sahib have been replaced with tiles. The interior walls of the Gurdwara were adorned with murals but unfortunately, many of these have been obliterated beyond recognition, and at present, only a few panels have left. The painting represents the Hindu gods and goddesses and as well as Sikh durbar during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Dr. Gurcharan Singh Bachan, former secretary, SGPC, who recently visited the Shrine, said that on the one hand, the Government of Pakistan claimed of paying special attention to preserving the religious and cultural heritage of Sikhs and special allocations were made for maintaining their sacred places. But on the contrary, the same was destroying the Sikh art and history. Dr. Bachan said that the most of the Sikh art and work could be seen on walls in frescos and very less work was done on paper. He advised that the Pakistan Government should take immediate steps and must take help of the conservatives and art technicians to save the Sikh heritage and culture. Kiranjt Kaur, former general secretary of SGPC and a noted critic, said, ”I was deeply hurt when I saw the condition of the Gurdwara in Pakistan, though the newly formed Pakistan Sikh Committee has been doing some work for the face lift of few Sikh shrines, but a lot of work is yet to be done”. She regretted that even after getting huge donations from the Sikh community from all over the world, the Pakistan Government had failed to save the art which was kept there as their valued positions. She further went on to say that to mark the 400th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev ji, the Pakistan Government should make efforts to repaint the murals and frescoes with the help of the old paintings preserved by Sikh artisans and experts. Sikhs living in India and abroad will observe the 400th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev ji, the fifth spiritual leader of Sikhs in Tarn Taran, which was founded by the Guru. Several other functions in this regard would also be held in Lahore where Mughal Emperor Jahangir martyred the Guru. The martyrdom anniversary will be observed for the first time officially by Pakistan’s Punjab Government in June next year. Pakistan Government has already given its nod to arrange mega function on the occasion and announced a liberal visa would be provided to the Sikh pilgrimages on the occasion. The government stated it was making every effort to make the visit of Sikh pilgrims comfortable so that they do not face any difficulty in visiting their holy places in Pakistan.
  10. This has been going on for a while. Some pea brain has been sending letters threatening bombs at railway stations like Ambala, Ludhiana, Phagwara. I guess he has moved on to Gurdwara and Mandir now.
  11. Its not hit and runs. Say you drive a vehicle with that reg plate through some racist areas. The local langoor will have a field day smashing your car as you sip cups of tea with a cousin.
  12. There is no enforcement. With no law and order you get anarchy. Until we get enforcement the cowboys are going to carry on.
  13. Oh I think I got over excited. He has only asked them to drop the word Akali. Considering Badal said his party was secular more than 3 years ago, it is good to see the quick response form Vedanti. At this rate he may look at the UK beadbi cases by 2012. SAD must drop Akali from its name: Vedanti Tribune News Service Amritsar, May 4 Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti, Akal Takht Jathedar, has asked the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to drop the word Akali from its name as it has given an undertaking to the Election Commission that the party is secular. In an interview published in the recent issue of the magazine ‘Sant Sipahi’, he has said the SAD has been formed under the patronage of Akal Takht and should address aspirations of the Sikh Panth. If the SAD cannot maintain its Panthic image or identity, it must drop the word Akali, he said. He said the saffron colour referred to ‘sanyas’ while xanthia was symbol of ‘chardi kala’ and considered auspicious for Sikhs. When contacted, Jathedar Vedanti said he stood by the interview given to the magazine. He also said the colour of the ‘Miri-Piri’ emblem and other Sikh flags had to be changed from saffron to xanthia. He said the SGPC and other Sikh organisations were unaware of the difference between both colours.
  14. I have no problem with the pictures being deleted but deleting a whole message is not good as it smacks of the type of censorship that the GOI applied in the 80s and 90s.
  15. True. Were there not a few isolated cases of chairs being placed in Durbar hall in a few Candian Gurdwara in the 1980s ? From what I was told some Singh went and asked the committee wale to remove them, after the pleas fell on deaf ears the chairs were smashed and the problem ceased to exist. The other problem we have in the UK is too many do gooders on councils who like to give money to Sikh community centres where drinking is allowed. So you get committee wale using golak money and council grants to fund these drinking dens. If Guru Ji cannot go to the pubs and clubs they bring the pubs and clubs next door to Guru Ji. People attend parties at these Gurdwara funded pubs and then think it is ok to take Guru Ji out into similar environments. The Akal Takht Jathedar has received petitions urging some action but like a true fussar panthi he hides and does nothing.
  16. Probably nothing. He is a complete <banned word filter activated> and thinks the BNP actually like him. No doubt behind his back they call him pa$i $%^£$$%£$% etc etc. I think he feels he is a pucca gora.
  17. MS Nijjar Ji :TH: Have any of the folks at the Sikh Council in Wolves got email ?
  18. I think some of our young couples think they are doing Guru Ji a favour by letting Mahraj grace their wedding in a fancy hotel. Anyway for these modern thinking couples who think everyone with a dastaar is a demon, read what Chacha Einstein had to say on the matter.
  19. Admin Note : *PICTURE EDITED*Think before you post the picture of someone else and then make fun of it. How you will feel when some white person post your picture up on some other forum and make fun of you as saying Bin Laden because of your outlook? Please do not post picture or make fun of others because of their physical appearance.
  20. Waste of money if you ask me. You make a slight mistake whilst driving and people can easily identify remember your number plate.
  21. There are other forums apart from this one. Did the people specifically mention they were active members of the SikhSangat forum ? There was not one but many statements urging people to be polite. I agree those who used vulgar words deserve punishment. I would even say they need more than a slap, maybe a good beating. I also say those people who facilitate and turn a blind eye to beadbi need a good slap. Reena, good to see you are so concerned about beadbi and meat. Why dont you take a step in the right direction and help prevent this ? Also be aware that meat is not a big taboo subject, a 1980 Akal Takht Hukumnama makes the position over meat very clear. At the peaceful protests at a few hotel weddings last year the only vulgar language was coming from the wedding guests. I hope the crude behaviour of those wedding guests also concerned you.
  22. The old "pavitar" curtain trick!! If the Jathedar of the Akal Takht attends Anand Karaj at marriage palaces how on earth are we going to educate people this is wrong.
  23. We need to know who these pakhandi giani are. If they are freelancers then they do not deserve to have Guru Ji. If it is a Gurdwara then they too should be made aware that such action is beadbi and their actions will be publicised if the pub wedding takes place. Just messing about in Autoroute using a Gurdwara pinpoint file it appears that the Gurdwara on Ellesmere Road North, Sheffield, Tel: 0114 242 0108 is the nearest to the place of the wedding. It may be worth phoning them to ask if they know who does these beadbi weddings. I am not saying this Gurdwara is involved but being close to the venue the prabandakhs and giani may know who is involved. A few Gurdwara in Doncaster are also within range of the venue. Remember be polite.
  24. Does anyone know which Gurdwara is involved. The R4GJ campaign did an extensive mailshot a while back to make Guru Ghar aware that taking Guru Ji to a hotel etc was beadbi and against a Hukumnama. So ignorance is not an excuse.
