The kara is round in the inside, not like it comes with grooves in it to!!! Jst do what i do, wear your simple kara small and light which obviously you never remove from your arm and if you have shastar based kara then wear this too. That way, if anyone questions you, you can easily say yuo have both. The gold kara is a punjabi thing. Notice how they only given at weddings, when a baby is born and typically at a birthday (eg 18th. 21st?) Its punjabi. Not Sikhi. In my opinion neway. For all the Hero Singhs that wear "Big Kara" to look hard at school, give thema slap. If they dont know how to use it, what its there for then they shudnt wear it. Why carry a hastar if you dont know how to use it? All that happens is your opponent can take it off you and ise it against you... Learn why you wear shastar, how to use it then wear it.... WJKK WJKF With this issue, theres a few things that need to be considered. (BTW i am all for using in a kara, the sight of my 2 usually shock people as the heavy weightd also so u know, most people back off in advance unless they stupid) 1. NEVER by all circumstances hit someone in the face with it! - U WILL BE CHARGED and pay the risk of banning Kara. 2. Only use it if you know how to. Not just smack some one loadsa times, learn how to use it to your advantage, sometimes you can defeat the opponent without even taking it off. 3. Respect it like you would respect a Kirpan. Its shastar at the end of the day, treat it that way. If you HAVE to use it, then use it only for defense, dont remove to provoke a fight. Just use as last means. Even then use it to control the person, go for areas which will temporarily disable the person such as the legs, shoulda blades, areas like these will prevent the person from striking you. You dnt even need to put too much power into shoulder blade strikes jst place kara on and push. Hurts enough!! Sorry for the martial arts lecture!! I agree with using it to defend oneself, not to attack someone! Only use if know how, and dont use to show off!!!! The size of the kara is not yet illegal but if misused can be made! Gurfateh Sadh Sangat This is basically a note to let all of you know, who may not be aware, a year ago the French Government put in place a law that stopped all Religious Items being worn in schools. At first they allowed Sikhs to wear Turbans, but over time even took away that right. The Sikh Federation have being helping the 3 young boys who have been taken to court for this matter. Sikh Way Forward are now trying to help as much as they can. Below is an email sent to myself and other organisations in the UK outlining what we can do. We have VERY LITTLE TIME TO ACT! We have at max 4weeks left, but if we say 3weeks you can see the deadline is close. ===================================================== Vaaheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa, VaaheGuroo Ji Ke Fateh The French Law that Bans on the Sikh Turban in schools is up for review in March. There is an opportunity to get the law repealed. Serious URGENT ACTION needs to be taken asap. We must all do so for the sake of the Sikh students who have been forced to be expelled or cut their kesh. We humbly ask whether you can support the French School Children. Please try and make the points below happen. Co-ordinate with www.unitedsikhs.org who are taking the French government to court. Letters Should go to (a) French ambassdor in the UK (b) French education minister in France © Local MEP in UK (slightly modified letter). Letters should go from all Sikh Organsiations and Gurdwaras in the World. Gurdwaras should put adverts in national and local papers. Also, If his sangat see him as their Guru, and he allows it, we need to basically put into play Gurbani! "Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukham Hai, Guru Maneo Granth!" Says it all! Infact look into History! When the Bhandi's looked at Bhanda Singh Bahadur as their Guru, the Akalis at the time proved them wrong! If people learned their history, they will wake up. The best part is, most of the time we will get into arguments with non sikhs over beadmi to us. But when we have beadmi to Guru Ji By SIKHS! we do not always stand together. Let us please join together now and resolve the issue! I have spoken to youth from all over the country as well as other organisations and i need more info so i can update the website. Not all, but a large amount. I am familiar with many people from luton sides who attended and were witnessed dancing in glory for their Baba's birthday. Not respectfully praising Naam which i believe is much more important in Guru Ji Godhi! For all of you who were dancing, and drunk, and being stupid, i hope one day you realise the pains you have put my Guru through! Especially to those old men, with WHITE BEARDS! who were also dancing away, should you not be showing an example? A CORRECT example not one of Behzti?
