  1. Some people are leaving sikhi, because, they do not get inner satisfaction. They have questions which remain unanswered, however, some give answers according to their limited and corrupted minds, and the thing is, these moorakhs think they know by reciting the whole Bani, when the fact is, whenever they open their mouths, they just speak nonsense. They are full of haume, of jealousy, of envy, thus so self centered naturally they have lost all sense of being humans...and the base for being good spiritually, starts only when we are humble and good at heart. Then also, nobody cares to dig deeper into the Bani to find the spiritual wealth, but rather limit the pure Bani of our Guru Sahibans to their corrupted and impure manmat. And in case, if anybody mentions the lesser known Truths of the Bani, they are slandered and looked suspiciously, as if they have done any wrong, when the fact is, they are only singing the Glory of Wahiguru, that also not of their own, nor for any personal benefits, but even then the stupids keep on barking like mad dogs and make a lot of noise.... True following of sikhi and justice to sikhi, is not by mere talkings and hot debates as fools, but by being humble and putting Gurmat into each and every thought, every action, through the jugtee or technique of His Simran. Because it is by His Simran alone, we become pure at heart and mind, not by mere intellectual reasoning, which brings no good, and leaves us as donkeys as ever, plus filled with the filth of ahankar or haume. Sat Sree Akal.
  2. Dear DontKnow Jee, Following are some possible answers for your questions. 1) When you ask this question, it shows how little you know very little about your ownself, and lesser even, about beloved Wahiguru. You see, we do not even know what is going to happen the next moment, which means we are limited, and thus, we do not exactly know what is good or bad for us. 2)You were sent for a superior goal. Just as when a child is sick, and does not want to take the medicine to get well, the mother holds him/her tight, and opens the mouth to introduce the medicine inside, she cares not for the inmaturity of the child, she only wants the child to get well soon. In a similar way, we do not know what exactly was in the beginning, and surely it is not His mistake, but our "naadangee". And for getting cured (muktee), one indenspensably needs to get born in human form first, to get the medicine of Naam. It is His unconditional love for you, for which He blessed you in your present human form. Look around yourself, there are billions of creatures in the craetion, and among so many countless creatures, He chose you and blessed you with your present human birth. Just ask yourself, was it by your merits? Or is it by His apaar Grace on you? 3)You see, we are all condemmed by our own actions in the cycvle of births and deaths, but is is by His Daya Meher only, that we are given this human body, and more than that we are blessed to be born as sikhs and follow Gurmat, to get freed for once and ever from the cycle of births and deaths. If you are really worried of being in this cycle of births and deaths, then do not complain, be strong and do the needful to get out of it, cause as the Bani says: Bhayee prapat manukh dehuria, Gobind milan kee ih teree bareeya, avar kaaj tere kitay na kaam, mil SAadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam. 4) Because, by having done the karmas as per our manmat, our nadangee, we are here as prisoners, but it is by practicing Gurmat (love and devotion for Wahiguru) alone, we can become free totally from the paraphernalia of this mayvee creation and merge in Him. 5) No, jee no, it does not sound like dictatorship. It sounds like your enemy the mind is forcing you to believe this agyanta as truth, fot it wants to ensure that you have feelings of hatred for Wahiguru, thus secure your stay in the cycle of births anbd deaths. But it is His inmense and unconditional love for you, that inspite of you having averse feelings for Him, still He loves you and has showered you with this priceless human body. Moreover, He does not look at your body nor mind, but He cares for His essence in you, which is the soul consciousness within us, that He wants to get back as soon as possible. He is Dayal Purukh, He is Sachay Patshaah; just think,if He was a dictator, He would punish you for having such thoughts for Him, but no, He is a ever loving Father, who wants His child back, that also as soosn as possible. Please do me favor, do anything you want, but please do not have ill feelings of hatred for our dear most beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh.... Sat Sree Akal.
  3. Brother Jacfsing2, exactly that is what I am trying in telling Dontknow. He is asking: why i was created without my approval? So I am telling him, how can you remember and so accurately say this, when you do not even remember what or who were you in your last birth. How do you know, you were separate from God in the very begining, and He decided to send you here without your consentment? You see, it is very easy to blame Him for any of our shortcomings. It is we who are coinfused, we are filled with vikaars, and then too, we are set out to judge Him, the Oouch Apaar Beant Soami.... Just ridiculous..... Our moorakhta has no limits, and His wadeeayee is limitless, is beyond our imagination .... Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Dear DontKnow Jee, how about if you look your questions from a different angle as seen below?
  5. For those manmukhs, donkeys, ignorants stupids, who take Naam as something secondary, and do not understand its Beant Vadeeayee, nor accept it as the only everlasting, existing and unchangeable reality, or in other words, prefer their own limited corrupted "manmaat", rather than Gurmat; so Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj, tells us in His paavan paviter Bani in Raag Raamkalee, that nobody can ever love, accept nor understand the value of Naam, if it is not by His Hukum. He says: Dhur karam paa-i-aa tuDh jin ka-o se naam har kai laagay. Those who have such pre-ordained destiny are attached to the Lord's Name. You see, it is not by one´s own efforts, that one sees Naam as the only Supreme reality, but it is by His Hukum only, otherwise one is engaged in his own manmat...and the funny thing is , he thinks he knows everything, when the truth is, he is no better than the most mentally retarded donkey .... Gurmukhs, Sant Janas, Guru Sahibans, sing only the praises of Naam .... but the stupid manmukh ignorants do not understand this, thus they can not withstand this wadeeayee of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, as their mind is filled with the filth of haume, of ego ..... But nevertheless, if they ever take into consideration the essence of Gurmat which is Naam, even then, those stained pieces of iron, shall be carried across the bhavsagar, such is the mahanta of Naam. Sat Sree Akal.
  6. DontKnow Jee, all the questions you ask, is not your soul which is asking, it is your lower mind..... The Bani says: Sabh Gobind hae, Sabh Gobind Hae; Bin Gobind nahee koe. Your true self is Him, just remove or break the treacherous mind, you will see nothing, but Him. Had you been Graced by Guru Jee in knowing and understanding Him, you would never ever speak such harsh words for Him.... Even then, His Grace is not something partial, but our own karma ..... it is our mind, our karma, which keep us under the bharam that we are separated from Him. So you may ask, how to break this mind or bharam? Well, it is by loving Him, love alone can make us merge in Him. Was it not because of His presence in you, you would be consciousless as stone or paper .... Sat Sree Akal.
  7. God..How Should I Pray Your Way Please Teach Me, Lord ... I Want To Know Exactly How To Pray. I Need Some Words Which Ones Are Right? Please Tell Me What To Say. I've Bowed My Head I Have Knelt Down, But ...Should I Be Upright? I've Closed My Eyes, I've Bowed My Head< I've Raised My Hands, Or ...Should I Fold Them Tight? Do I Stand Up? Should I Sit Down? Dear Lord ... What Do You Like? Are Lights Turned On Or Are They Off? Maybe ...Candle Light? Wear My Glasses? Take Them Off? Be At My Desk Or Table? Should I Whisper? Speak Out Loud? Do I Quote The Bible? What Do You Think About The Time? Do You Prefer The Dawn? Should I Pray Fast, Or Keep It Slow? Better Short ... Or Long? I'm New At This What Are The Rules? I Want To Do It Right. How Do I Know You'll Even Hear That I'm In Your Sight? And While I Sat There Quietly Waiting For Some Sign, I Heard A Gentle Voice Say, "Oh, Dearest Child Of Mine ... Do You Think I Really Care About The Time Of Day, Or Whether You Are Standing Up, Or Kneeling When You Pray?" "I Don't Care About Your Posture, Or About The Place You Choose; Just Open Up Your Soul To Me, I Have No Other Rules. Tell Me What Is In Your Heart, And Tell Me What You Seek; Tell Me Of Your Sorrows, And Of Those Things That Made You Weak." "Speak To Me In Private About What Concerns You Most My Child, You Don't Need Lessons, Just Talk To Me Each Day; Tell Me Anything You Want, Dear Child, Anyone Can Pray."
  8. What is the purpose of any religion? And in our case, about sikhee? True religion is, the one which enables us to become one with Him. Many get confused, as per which religion to accept and follow, as there are so many in this world, since its creation. Because religions are many, and all of them have something or the other to offer. Most of them, offer as their highest goal, objectives as heaven, swarg, baikunth, dev lok...etc ...etc ....and engage us in outer rituals, karam kaand, dogmas and practices, thus we continue remaining in the wheel of eighty four, without any chances to escape ... So, what does Sikhee offers us, or in what does it differ, in comparison to the rest of the paths? It also depends on us, what we want to achieve with Sikhee? Because it can be that, pearls and diamonds (Wahiguru) are being offered, but, some due to manmat, refuse them, and go for stones or imitation jewelery(lesser entities or dieties). But in any case, the goal or target in Sikhee, if followed faithfully, is the One Supreme Wahiguru. Other dharams, base the success of acheiveing their goals, on a varied lesser devotion steps, such as jap, tap, poojas, paaths, pilgrimages, fastings, murtee poojas, flowers... But, as said above, in Sikhee the goal is only one Wahiguru, the Light of all other lights, based on only one jugtee, one devotion, one True love, and that is nothing than, the Simran of His Naam. Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj, in His paavan paviter Bani in Raag Basant, reveals us the secret, the essence of spirituality, and the base of any true religion, in just a line of 6 simple words only ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈ Bin Naamai Mukath Kinai N Paaee बिनु नामै मुकति किनै न पाई Without the Naam, no one obtains liberation. He says: do whatever you may want, but if you do not hold the pallav of Naam(through its Simran), you shall drown in the painful cycle of unending lifes and deaths. Guru Sahibans, Bhagat Jan, have gracefully placed before us, the Highest. It is now up to us, to be wise in choosing and accepting it, without the doubt as tiny as of the blinking of an eye. Sat Sree Akal
  9. Brother S1NNG, You should keep in mind what the Bani says: Hukum andher sabko, baher hukum na koee . So you see, whether we believe in Guru Granth Sahib, or people like you believe in living Master as you say, it is all by His Hukum. And if this is so, do you think you can change the world, or we can change you? Who can go against His hukum? Your own beloved Master, does not like to indulge in debates which lead to conflicts, hatred or agressiveness, then why do you not follow him, and stop telling anybody, this is right or wrong, thus being wise. Just leave it man. You were leading a peaceful life, just came here and have altered people´s sensivity...and gained their anger for nothing..... and you may deny it, but you too must be affected as per loosing peace of mind...so is with the sangat here also. Many came before you, many may come, or want to come and do the same, but believe it, everbody is going through his/her destiny as per Hukum, which no man, no devil, nor any gods can change it. So, just leave us as we are, right or wrong, it is our choice, our responsibility .... You see, all wars, all riots, all religious controversies, start when some try to impose their views on others .... Just think, what is the need for all these problems. So, please stop telling anyone here to keep quite, or do not do this or that....that is not the right attitude, forget being spiritual, but first of all we have to be good human beings. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Brother Kishyahu, there is no mystery in the Name Wahiguru, it is all maginficence, it is all wonder, it is beyond any words, beyond imagination..... In short, it is the Creator Himself. It is verily true, what you have written above in these lines . "WAHEGURU is the door to Salvation or Gati of Human Soul. WAHEGURU is source to reveal/teach mysteries in scripture. WAHEGURU is the healer of body and mind. WAHEGURU is Echd or Ek onkar. WAHEGURU is eternal truth and Amrit. Without WAHEGURU there is no AMRITBANI." But let us not be confused, Waheguru Himself is not a word in any language, is a Conscious Power of Supreme Heights. You see there where He is, He has no shape, size, color ...... Well then, we may ask if He is, and has no colour, size, form... what is it that He is. The Bani says, He is Shabad, He is Naam, it also says : Jug Charey Naam ootam, Shabad veechar. Means, throughout the 4 ages, or we can say, at all times,He is, in His Naam or Shabad swaroop. Guru Jee also gives us hints about Him at several places in the Bani. They refer to Him, as the source of Light, when in Aartee, we recite: Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae see. This means, He is present in all as souls, with His particle of life giving light, as He himself is the True eternal Light. Then Third Patshahee reveals us in His Bani Anand Sahib, another quality of this Consciouss pervading energy, when He says: Nam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. Means, when the Gurmanter has been firmly established in our minds firmly, we listen that Amrit Bani within, as unstruck divine melody within us. First Patshahee tells us in Jap Ji Sahib, that when our minds listen that divine melody within, we break and get freed forever from the chains, which bind us in this mayavee creation, and are the cause of our pain and sorrow, in the form of sins and karmas. I have gone through several religions by studying them, but Sikhee or Gurmat by far is the best... not because of any outer reasons, but becuase, if practiced faithfully as per Bani literally, without any manmat additions or substractions, it is a direct path to Wahiguru. Sat Sree Akal.
  11. Simran Pen Jee, thank you for posting above such two beautiful and precious Kirtan Shabads. Waheguru.
  12. Kaeval Raam Naam Man Vasiaa Naamae Hee Mukath Paaee We all know, we come into this world in the human form for only one purpose, which is to get freedom from this mayvee creation, and merge our surtee in Wahiguru Akal Purukh. But how to achieve this noble goal? People think that by worshipping this or that deity can be done; others think maybe by rituals, by pilgrimages, going into the jungles, or in the forests, others by torturing their lives, by doing poojas, paaths, fastings, then, some even give up their precious lives...and the list could be endless of all types of answers found, as many as people, we may meet from different walks ... But Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj, gives us only one answer, in simple plain words, in His paavan paviter Bani, in Raag Sorath. Which goes as in the following verse: ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਈ Kaeval Raam Naam Man Vasiaa, Naamae Hee Mukath Paaee केवल राम नामु मनि वसिआ नामे ही मुकति पाई The Name of the Lord alone abides in their minds; through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they find liberation. He clearly says, it is through Naam Simran, the Naam comes to abide in the mind, and then through this very Naam, one finds true liberation by merging in him ultimately. There are quite a few foolish moorakh manmukhs out there, who get atonished, surprised, dissapointed, as per why so much stress is given on Naam The thing is, no man can ever sing His praises, it is by His Grace alone, and through the Bani, that we come to know that all else is fanah, is koor... Only Saacha Sahib Wahiguru, and His Saacha Nao, is the everlasting permanent Truth. The Bani says: Ekas bin sabh dhandh hae. So why waste our lives after shadows? Why not to go after that Akhand Jot, Naam? Sat Sree Akal.
  13. Swaasa dee poonjee All of us are born with our capital of life in the form of swaasas. This is the most precious or valuable thing which is really ours ...... At our last moments, no amount of any millions of dollars or pounds can get us back eve a single swaas.. So, according to the Bani, if our swaasas are such precious, but even then, if with this bhandaar of wealth, we do not invest it rightly, we shall become loosers. So, what is it to invest it correctly to gain real profit out of it? Each and every breath which escapes me without the Naam - that breath is useless and corrupt. Guru Jee, in the line above, is telling us, that if we do not repeat His Naam with each inhalation and exhalation, then, that swaas, that breath, is useless and lost. On the other hand, if we do His Chintan with each and every breath, we are sowing our seeds in Sach Khand, which will make us go there and have the Fruit of His Darshan, not only that, but with this His devotion, He blends us with Himself. Sat Sree Akal.
  14. Brother sikhstudent99, though many can give many answers, but as per my point of view from Gurmat, take refuge at the Lotus Feet of Wahiguru, take shelter in the Most Powerful Akal Purukh, through His bhakti, then nobody can even touch a hair of yours. Tati vao na lagai, tati vao na lagai, jin Parbrahm sharanai, Gurandi, sharan peya... This is the guarantee of Guru Jee. Sat Sree Akal
  15. kaurp penjee, below is a beautiful and a technically perfect answer, given by our Simran penjee, where she is telling us in just few words, that Wahiguru is the sole motor of everything. Do ardaas to Him with a sincere heart, He will clear your ways Then, my 2 cents to this your question above, with a quotation from the Bani, as there is hardly any other way.... Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj is telling us in His paavan paviter Bani in Raag Bilaval, in just two verses, how to deal with the difficulties you mention: ਧੀਆ ਪੂਤ ਛੋਡਿ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਆਸਾ ਆਸ ਮਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਰਈਆ Dhheeaa Pooth Shhodd Sanniaasee Aasaa Aas Man Bahuth Kareeaa धीआ पूत छोडि संनिआसी आसा आस मनि बहुतु करईआ The Sannyaasi renounces his daughters and sons, but his mind still conjures up all sorts of hopes and desires. With these hopes and desires, he still does not understand, that only through the Word of the Guru's Shabad does one become free of desires, and find peace. Here above, Guru Jee is telling us, that one does not need to become a sanyasi, or run away from the world, in order to dedicate ourselves in His devotion. Rather He is saying, while living a household life, and fulfilling one´s duties, responsibilities, one has to take out some time from the 24 hours of a day, and dedicate it in His Simran, as He is the unlimited fountain of peace, bliss and Truth. There is a saying which goes like this: as you meditate upon, so you become. This means, if we meditate on Him alone, we shall profit ourselves with His virtues mentioned above. Not only that, but something much much more fascinating...something which is beyond any expression...which is, by doing so, we merge and become one with Him. That is why the Bani says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. Waheguru, Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Kedar Joshi the author of these satanic verses, seems to be satan himself ...it is sickening to see people carried away with this utter and sheer lies. I am not pro hinduism, but from that point, to the other, to say Krishna was evil or a terrorist .... that is biggest nonsense, in fact, I would say the author himself is a terrorist himself. We have heard mad people exist, but from the words of this evil person, it seems, he has crossed all limits of "rakshaspan". There is no difference between him and Kansa or Ravana. Krishna right from his birth, was the avatar of Vishnu jee, and as such, while not being the absolute Truth as our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh, neither comparable to any of our Guru Sahibans or the Gurmukhs, he was good to an extent, and is helpless, just as all other deites, in doing the task (of running this mayavee creation) assigned to him, and them(devis, devtas, gods) by the only one Creator, Satnam. Shame on this poor and mentally handicaped Kedar Joshi, for uttering such ugly lies .... trying to manipulate the probably mentally and spiritually weak ones .... Sat Sree Akal
  17. Brother Lucky, Sat Sree Akal. Welcome after so long time, we miss you here, please come more oftenly, and allow us to have our share of your wisdom. The Bani says: Ekas bin sabh dhandh hae, sabh moh maaye. And this Ekas, is none other than Wahiguru Akal Purukh Himself. And so what is Wahiguru? Is He something personal, with form, color or size? No. The Bani says, He is Akal, He is Nirankar. He is described as Alakh or Agam also. He is also described as Bani or Amrit Bani, and such, this Bani is the Anhad Naad, the unstruck divine melody ringing within us at all times, irrespective of our caste, color, religion or nationality. And while this divine melody reverberates constantly nonstop, then also this manifestation of Naam or Shabad, projects Akahand Jot, from it. So in conclusion, He can be heard through His Shabad Dhun, and we can have His Darshan through His Jot being pargat within us. And throughout Gurbani, the Bhagat Janas, our Guru Sahibans, have gracefully revealed us these truths, which otherwise we by ourselves could never come to know. And all these saintly Gurmukhs, stress only the bhakti of Naam, because through it, we can manifest that Shabad Guru within us, and by listening to it, we start becoming pure paviter, as we literally burn our store karmas, that is why First Patshahee says: suniye, dukh paap ka naas. Means, by listening to the Shabad Dhun within, which is as same as saying, drinking the Amrit within, all our karmas get dissolved, which are the cause of our sorrows and pains, and of us being prisoners in this mayavee creation And once we become totally inmaculate, gradually with His apaar grace, we merge in Him, and become one with Him. This is when the Bani says, the jot (light, our souls), merges in the Akhand Jot. So when Guru Jee says, suniye in the Bani, it means, we have to do the jugtee of Naam Simran, in order to be able to listen that Shabad Dhun within. This is when Third Patshahee says: Naam jiske man vaseeya, vaajeh Shabad ganere. And when it says "maniye" , it refers to those who have understood and accepted this Truth, as Naam, or Shabad Dhun, as per means of becoming one with Him, through His Simran. Sat Sree Akal.
  18. Brother Sat, sorry to disagree with you on this point. None of us are free. We have a limited free will, in the sense the karmas we do, we have the choice of doing good or bad. We were not free, in having the choice of where or when to be born, of the family, country, or religion to be born, etc. Everything is predtermined by our karmas. So, how can we call ourselves free? Then, about the Truthfulness....Gurmukhs or Guru Sahibans are free since birth, they are above karmas, even then they respect and abide by the laws of Nature. And these very Guru Sahibans or Gurmukhs, do not have to practice any truth, as they themselves are the very embodiment of that Suprme Truth. It is all others, we who have to practice Truth, because we are still in the realms of mind and Maya, but they Gurmukhs, have their "chit", their dhyan, permanently focused and merged in the Shabad Dhun, they are in constant communion with Shabad. Thus, only them are totally free, and as such, they can take back with them to Sach Khand, whomsoever they want, under the Hukum of Wahiguru. Outwardly they may look like us, but the main difference is, while we are not free and we have to strive in being truthful, they are manifestations of that Primal Supreme Truth, Satnam, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Sat Sree Akal..
  19. Upon the supreme importance of Naam Bhakti Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj tells us in His Bani, Raag Sorath, something on the supreme importance of the devotion of Naam. O Nanak, the blind, ignorant fools do not remember the Naam, the Name of the Lord; they involve themselves in other activities. He says, they are fools, blind and moorakhs, those who do not meditate on the Naam, but proudly engage themselves in all other sort of activities and rituals as substitutes for this real bhakti. They are bound and gagged at the door of the Messenger of Death; they are punished, and in the end, they rot away in manure. This means, these stupid manmukhs, are severly punished by the messengers of Kal / death, for wasting away the present blessed opprtunity by Wahiguru on us, for the only purpose of devoting ourselves at His Lotus feet, through Gurmat, which is : Ik Oankar, Satgur Parsad, Jap. There is only one Lord, who is realized and met by His Simran/Jap. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. Good post Sat jee. To what you have stated 24/ 7 , I would add 365. Because most people say they can do this or that for 24 hours and they do train for it, but then they relax, and forget what they were trying to understand in those 24 hours of practice. That is why the Banis says: Tum karoh daya mere Saee, Aisee mat deejhay mere Thakur, sadah sadah Tujhe dheeayaoo. Guru Sahiban, is telling us : sadah sadah, means always do His Simran & Dhyan, but we moorakhs, according to our manmat, we add other things(our own mirch, masala), like in preparing curry... stupid silly people, that also, when Gurmat, Gurabni is so simple and starighforward , butr we make it limited and complicated, thus it is a great unjustice, a disrespect, to the teachings of our Guru Sahibans and Bhagat Janas. But the thing is, Wahiguru, through His Gurmukhs, is telling us that, if you want to become one with me, just do my Simran, that is it, no jap, tap, poojas, paaths, pilgrimages, fastings, nothing at all. Because all this is done with the body, and the body will one day become ashes/dust. The soul is subtle, it is captured as prisoner by the mind, so, we have to fight with the mind, with the weapon of His Naam, to defeat it, and liberate our souls from its clutches, and thus be able to merge in the omnipresent Wahiguru. We must bear in mind, His Naam, is the only weapon to defeat mind, maya and kaal...no devis, devtas, gods, angles, etc....absolutely nobody and nothing can help us being free from these evil enemies of ours. Gods, devis, devtas...none of them even know, what Wahiguru or Naam is, as they themselves are deluded in Maya. That is why the Gurbani, only stresses on the one creator Wahiguru, and His reality as Shabad or Naam. This is the wadeeayee, of our Guru Sahibans, who are most merciful on us by letting us know about Wahiguru and Naam. Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Brother, Gurbani is the remedy. Does not the Bani say : Sarab Rog ka Aukhad Naam...or, Prabh Ka Simran, man kee mael jaae. So ask yourself, where is this vikaar of kaam in us? Like all other vices, it is in the mind. So it is in the mind, where the medicine has to be applied. And the only effective medicine to defeat or conquer all the vikaars is His Naam, through His chintan, His Dhyan... You see, the mind is fond of pleasures. It constantly seeks them, and runs after them madly ....in the way, it crosses the limits of morality also, so naturally it incurrs in karmas, which have to be paid without any doubt. And the worst thing is, it makes us to do wrong intentionally, and then makes us feel guilty also.... In my opinion we have to attack and surround the mind in various ways: keep good company, do sewa at the Gurdwaras, read and study Gurbani, develope deep love for Wahiguru, and then regulary engage yourself in His Bhajan Bandagee as much time as possible, the more the better. And as Wahiguru is within us, you will definetely get the help from Him, within. In due time, you will by yourself see changes taking place in you ... As said before, the mind is fond of pleasures; so, in order for the mind to abandon these vikaars, it needs to be given a superior pleasure to hold on, and that brother, is the rus of His Name only. May Wahiguru bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  22. WHAT IS NAAM AND HOW TO MERGE IN NAAM? From the Naam, everyone originated, O Siblings of Destiny; forgetting the Naam, they die away. The True Name of the Lord comes to abide in the mind, and through the Name, one merges in the Name. Raag Sorath Guru Amar Das In the first line above, Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj, tells us, that Wahiguru, Naam or Shabad is the same thing, and that everything was created by this Naam. All the Khands, the Brahmands, the material or subtle universes upon universes, gods, devis, devtas, all species of life forms ...absolutely everything was created by Naam alone. Then is the second line, He is telling us, that this Naam, is achieved only, by meditating upon it, and then it is this very Naam, which makes us merge in it. So wonderful, so beautiful no? Through Naam, we merge in Naam, and become one with Naam. After going through these words full of wisdom of our Guru Sahib Sree Guru Amar Das Maharaj, one feels, that pitifully, the whole world is blind and ignorant, by getting entangled in manmat, through so many other diversified activities, rituals, etc.... The Bani of our Guru Sahibans, is very clear, in terms of what is True Bhakti, it is we manmukhs, who turn our faces, and do not want even to hear such truths... Everything depends on us, if we follow Gurmat as it is in essence, we shall become one with Wahiguru. If not, we shall wander in the cycle of births and deaths...Then too, we think we are wise, and we proudly say, we are His devotees .... Sat Sree Akal.
  23. Bani: Raag Sorath, Sree Guru Amar Das Maharaj. O Nanak, through the Lord's Name, one is emancipated; attuned to the Shabad, he finds the Lord. In this line above, Dhan Dhan Satguru Amar Das Maharaj, is telling us, if you want to get freed from the cycle of births and deaths, and meet the Lord, just get attuned to the Shabad. Now we may ask, how to get attuned to the Shabad within? The answer is, Naam Simran. Our Guru Sahibans, in each ang of the Bani, have blessed us with their Daya Meher, by constantly reminding us, that if one is a sikh and wants to get reunited with Him, there is only one way, and that is of Shabad Guru, of Naam, through its Simran alone. Sat Sree Akal.
  24. Historically Dushera is a hindu festival, and is celebrated in remeberance of Ram, the son of king Dashrath. Ram was an incarnation of Vishnu jee. People rejoice in celebrating it, as Ram rescued his wife Sita and killed the demon Ravan. It represents the victory of goodness over evil. For us as sikhs, we can have another more accurate view about this whole scene in the perspective of sikhee. Our soul is represented as Sita, the ten headed demon Ravan, as the mind with its ten heads as 5 karam indriyas and 5 gyan indriyas. This demon mind has kept us prisoners in this mayavee creation; keeping us apart from our Lord Wahiguru. This demon, plays tricks upon us, in the form of vaasnas, trishnas, etc, in order to divert our attention, our rememberance of our true Lord Wahiguru, towards the perisahble mayavee creation But then, the soul, using the Name or Naam of Wahiguru and making Him pargat within, He is manifested as Shabad Guru, who defeats this dusht mind or kaal, and takes the wadbhgee soul back to Sach Khand, our true everlasting blissful land... once the soul reaches there, there is an endless festival of Lights, of the Jot of Wahiguru. Outer dusheras and diwalis last only a few days, but, in the inner spiritual realms, there is constant Diwali, when the bride soul, gets reunited with the beloved Wahiguru Well, this was a play... an mystical interpretation of this seasonal festival .... Sat Sree Akal.
  25. Dear kaurp jee, Simran Pen Jee and Not2Cool2Argue, have given you good advices above. Anyhow, not knowing the full picture of your situation, I would tell you, be with your husband, support him, let him see that you stand his side and support him in his decisions, as we men usually have a lot of ego (lol) ... well that is how we are, we are not perfect, as women are not either, and we have to accept these facts. In the long run, women have more positive qualities then we men. First of all, we owe our existence to you women. So that is it. So konwing our limitations, we as humans have to arise above them, and cooperate with our life partners on a level of trust, understanding, cooperation and moral support. If in spite of doing this, you can still tell your husband to allow you to go to Canada for that exam, and buy you a ticket if the economical conditions are fine, because you as a human have a life to live with dignity. Men have to understand their wives, that women make a huge sacrifice and leave all their families and friends, just to be with the husband´s side. This decision alone by itself, is solid a reason to love and respect women, and be all that supporting and helpful, they may need from our side. Then pen jee, if he does not agree, or can not afford for your going to Canada, wait for a while, work a bit, earn and save enough money, to fulfill your dream, to become a fully dignified human being. Stop all antidepresants, breathe deeply, and take shelter at Wahiguru´s wisdom to be guided, cheer up, your life is only yours... My best wishes are with you. Sat Sree Akal.
