  1. Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae soee. (Wahiguru or Nam /Shabad, is not flesh neither subtle etehreal bodies. So if Christ, or Guru Nanak and the other highly spiritual beings like the rest of the Guru Sahibans or Bhagat Janas mentioned in the Bani, left this plane and merged and become one with that Primal Jot, how come anyone can recognize them as individual entities over there in His Darbar? Moreover the Bani says: Sach Khand vasay Nirankar, means whosoever reaches Sach Khand, becomes one with Him, that is His majesty and greatness. We all long to become one with Him. If we want to be there and see different individuals there in multitudes, like here on this plane or even in Baikunth or Swarg, then I am sorry to say, we have not understood the Bani at all, however religiously inclined we may appear to be, and we are doing unjustice to our Guru Sahibans It would be foolish to think, that I will reach there and stay besides Him. No, no, no...that is all manmat. After all, lets us ask ourselves, before their coming into the bodies, what were they? The answer is, Shabad . So if they leave their physical coverings bodies here, which are turned into dust, what is there left of those bodies to recognize them in the inner realms? It is just ridiculous. So in conclusion, either someone is just boasting rubbish, or we have not understood Gurmat at all, which is a great pity. The thing is, we can only know and understand ruhaniyat, if we read and follow what the Bani says, then we need nobody to tell us aything, because we have also allowed that Nam to be pargat within us, with love, devotion and above all, by His Grace. The Jot of Waheguru, or Naam or Shabd, is the only reality in Christ, as well as in our Guru Sahibans or Bhagat Janas, and also in us. With the only difference, that while in all others that Jot is suppressed by our haume, in them, it is fully manifested. But we manmukhs take these high spiritual beings as something of our sole property, It is this our narrow mindedness which create conflicts among us. And then going agianst their teachings, we limit their greatness and reality to the body, which is just an uncosciouss handful of dust... Just as anything made of the 5 perisahble tatwas .... Wahiguru, Naam or Shabd is the only reality for all, that is why third Patshahee says: Naam outam, Jug chaare, Shabad veechar. Throughout the four ages, the Naam is the ultimate; reflect upon the Word of the Shabad Raag Gauri Guaarayree Guru Amar Das. You see, this Supreme reality of Wahiguru as Naam or Shabad, did not start 2000, 700, or 300 years back only... it is the law, the path to follow and reach Waheguru, since the very Aad Jugad...till the endless times. Sat Sree Akal.
  2. S4NGH Jee, no I am not a christian. The bible, conatins the glory of Waheguru Akal Purukh. Not as interpreted by many of the mankind, but the core message in it, the teachings of Christ, which can be summarized in the following line: Love the Lord above everything and love thy neighbour as thyself. It means be truthful, and worship one Lord God only with the aid of the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, which we know as Shabad or Naam. I believe He was a Gurmukh. Christ was not the perishable body, just as our Guru Sahibans weren´t so. Nobody is saying, the Bible is the divine .... the divinity is chetanta, is awareness, is consciouness, is the soul, the jeeva a spark of His Jot . The common factor in all Gurmukhs, of any time or place is, the Power of Naam or Shabd is manifested in them. That is why the Bani says: Prabh jee baseh sadh ke hirdey .... Har jee baseh Sadh kee rasna You see, the power or energy of Naam or wahiguru manifested in them, Gurmukhs, is for the only purpose to unite us with that ultimate and eternal reality, which is Wahiguru. And this reality is not limited for a particular time or place, not it is the copyright of any race or creed, it is universal. That is why in the Aartee it is said : Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae soee.
  3. Dear Singh Jee, whatever quotations you have written above, it is one of the most ignorant and rubbish information written by anyone(not you obviously). It is all false ...al manmat. Christ was the Light of the world, a giver of eternal life, through the Holy Name or Naam or Shabad... And all this is contradictory of taking away lives, which is the task of lesser entities, such as "yam doots"... And the task of Jesus, was that of a Gurmukh, the Son, to awaken us, and show us the way to the Father, through His Simran. Then the other point, let no one remain deluded, that Christ will ever come back sometime in the same body ... it is against Nature. When our very Guru sahibans or the Bhagat Janas, had to appoint a Successor to carry on with the sacred task of awakenenig the Souls in the Light of Shabad, how can that One God Lord Akal Purukh, change His views for Christ? It is all a fantasy nonsense of the foolish manmukhs, who spread their heavy dark agyanta among the folks, though they may have acheieved degrees in religious literature ... It is the duty of each one of us, to cut from the roots all this rubbish. We are blessed by Him, that with the aid of the wisdom of the Bani, we become mentally and emotionally balanced, thus be able to shed the Light of one unchangeable Universal Truth : Waheguru Akal Purukh. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Please let us not be so narrow minded. We live in a world, of different cultures, different religions, different races with whom we do have interacation at some time or other, as we are social beings. Other thing is, if one is obliged to do something which is wrong, like, to smoke, drink alcohol, or other bad actions... This is what one should see and avoid... But to attend a friend´s feast, or wedding, or birth of a child ... I think it is a good idea. As long as one knows, where one stands, then it is fine.... So brother, go and enjoy, and make him happy, just from a human point of view... I myself have christian friends, or muslim also, and we talk normally, and there was a time, when quite a few years back, I had customers of almost every corner of the world, and I learnt a lot from them, nothing wrong in it. Of course, good and bad people we have it everywhere ...the goodness or the evil is not in the bodies, but in the minds, and it is there we have to take care of ourselves, as long we have our beloved Wahiguru in our hearts or minds through His Simran, then not even the devil dares to come near... Sat Sree Akal.
  5. Brother JagjeetST, frankly speaking, not only you but we are all confused. Do we know, when we are confused? I think we all know, that when we want do something , but we do it wrongly or without being certain of it. So do not worry much, the whole of the wotld is acting blindlingly. You see, Wahiguru and His Gurmukhs, are the only permanent reality and source of bliss, peace and true happiness. And we are all confused, because we are manmukhs, we follow the dictates of our minds and our fellow men. It is like blind following blind. Nobody cares for what the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, Bhagat Jan or Gurmukhs say, we are very much after our own preestablished perceptions of how sikhee should be .... We do not care much for the Bani as said before... many a times even if we see anything which in reality says something, but we prefer to ignore it and hold on to what we have been told that what Sikhee is ... So naturally, if we allow others to interpret the Bani according to their level of understanding and we get influenced by them, the consequence is, we are putting our lives in the hands of the multitudes ...just to feel comfortable and think we are one more among them... And them means maya, means agyanta.... As brother Sat has said above, sikhee is not difficult at all. Rather it is a natural path of purest love and devotion for Wahiguru. That is it, nothing more and nothing less. It is a love story between the jeeva soul and the beloved Wahiguru, everything else is surplus and ought to be out of scene. But it is a pity, that we think that when we go there we will see the large multitudes as seeing here ... There is a beautiful and simple line in Aartee, when it says: Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae soee. You see, Guru Jee is telling us, Wahiguru is an Highest level of Conscious Energy. Just as any energy has no caste, creed or nationality, nor is it realated to any geographical location, in the same way, Wahiguru is not related to any outer paraphernalia. Though He is the sole Creator of everything. Guru Jee has beautifully made it simple for us : He says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya . You see, to become one with Him, nothing else is needed. Only His Grace, to repeat His sweet Name, in order to become one with Him. And on the contrary we are complicating everything here ....That is because we are confused, we do not rely on the teachings, the ultimate Truth, but on the surroundings which fade away within time, and we are left into the darkness of agyanta like the rest of the world ... and that is a tragedy, when we have the best teachers: our Guru Sahibans; the best school: Sikhee ... and we don´t profit even a single grain of wealth from it ... The Bani is the only solution for all our shortcomings, provided we follow it implicitly. Sat Sree Akal.
  6. Dass Jee, if you listen Nitem, which is quite good...can you tell me the base line teachings which are in the Nitnem and throughout the Bani. Isn´t it the mahima of His Naam? You see, just by saying oh, how good is that cake, it has cashews, it has cream, nuts, and so on ... one´s hunger will not get , until you eat it . So listening Nitnem is just listening the mahima, the goodness of Wahiguru, but then doing what the Nitnem says, is being attuned and one with Wahiguru. If you love Wahiguru, you will or anybody will surely love to recite His Naam. The bani says: Saas saas simroh Gobind. Time, Kaal, will never allow us to do His chintan, it is we as sikhs that have to make the best of our time and lives and dedicate it lovingly devoted to Him at His Lotus Feet. You complain about time, when you go or come from the uni, or are free for a time with your mind, just repeat His Naam...as simple as that; gradually by His Grace, you will automatically get time to do His bhajan bandagee ...you will be amazed. But bro, to start with, you will have to do that much, nothing is for free. Even atheltes, to get a piece of perishable metal, train daily for eight hours minnimum .... And we think to get the Hghest and Unmeasureable Wahiguru...just like that? Sorry, that would be childish... All our agyanta, our faults, our filth in our minds...can only be wiped away, if only we hold on to His Name, and it does not matter if we do anything else or not ....because in the end, His Name, His Shabad, and He Himself are the only reality. The Bani should be fully read and understood with devotion, but to get the aim of sikhee, it is only by holding on to His name. Regarding the supreme importance and the value of His Naam over anything else, Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev Maharaj clears all our doubts by going straight to the point, which is all about our liberation in the end: Vin Naavai Hor Dhhan Naahee, Hor Bikhiaa Sabh Shhaaraa Without God's Name, there is no other wealth. Everything else is just poison and ashes. Raag Maajh, Guru Nanak Dev. Brother, even to repeat His sacred Name, is not done by our will, but, by His Grace and will. If it is His will, we shall repeat His Naam, otherwise we will be engaged in many and diverse outer things, which are futile in His eyes. That is why the Bani says: Se simrae, jisnoo Aap simrae. This is Gurmat, everything else, however appealing or attractive it may appear to be, it is all "manmat" God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
Those who forget the Naam and do other things, O Nanak, will be bound and gagged and beaten in the City of Death, like the thief caught red-handed. In these lines above, Dhan Dhan satguru Amar Das Maharaj is pointing us out the base of sikhee and any true religion. He says, that iko Wahiguru is Truth, and iko His Nam is Truth also. Wahiguru is Nirankar, but we can hold on with Simran to His Name and reach Him. So, He is telling us, that as means of devotion, if we do many other things, but do not do the kamaee of His Nam, then we have done nothing, and as consequence, at our departure from this world, the yam doots will beat blue and black, and catch hold of us, as we were thieves. Cause we did not follow Gurmat, rather we did manmat, and followed the corrupted ways brought within sikhee by the spiritually blinded, and thrown on us as if they were equally valid methods of realizing Him. If ever we have any doubts, or even if we feel proud with our behaviour and so called religious practices, it would be advisable, if we checked throughly with the Bani of our Guru Sahibans. We should read it by ourselves and explore it, and discover the Truths by ourselves. whatever we read, we should use it as a checker, if that what we hear, see and learn from our elders, preachers, samaj, community, since we came into this world tellies with what our Guru Sahibans want to tell us through the Bani. Even when we go the bazaar to buy a shirt, don´t we touch the material, to see if the quality is good....Then, why do we accept things which we are told without analyzing them. You see, the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, is much much more, than anything . it is a pity, we are being chained into brahmanvadee practices alike, within our very sikhee. So naturally, the Truths of the Bani are delegated to lower levels of consciousness, thus we do not derive the benefits from the Amrit Bani, and that is why, Guru Jee knowing our weaknesses, even several hundred yearss before our coming into the world, warn us, apart from Nam Bhakti, do not do anything else, otherwise you shall have to repent heavily for it, and by that time, it will be late for us, cause we shall have wasted away, the golden chance of human birth to realize and merge in Him. Sat Sree Akal.
  8. It is good if both are on the same path, because it will definetey be source of inspiration and help, when one is likely to be down at sometimes, as we humans are weak by nature. But the thing is, we get married due to our adjustment of karmic accounts of previous lives, which we have to settle with each other, as well as with anyone at family, work, or any other sphere in this "karam bhoomee" creation. We are blessed by Akal Purukh, to be loving and kind towards our life partners, so that karmas can be setteled in a smooth way without any discomfort or disturbance, and at the same time, engage our selves in His Bhakti, in oredr to fulfill the purpose of our human birth, by becoming one with Him, by means of His devotion alone. We can not remain idle, our karmas push us to be in continous motion, but it is His devotion and Grace, which is individual, and necessary for our spiritual developement, in order to become pure, paviter enough to merge in Him, that´s it. We should be balanced and be broad minded in our lives, with the tools of truthfuness humility, love, kindness and compasion, which are the qualities required by us to be true sikhs of Guru Jee. Each one of us has come alone, and has to go alone, it is wrong to think that we shall go to gather there in His Darbar, or find our relatives, parents, siblings...etc. Each one of us. is like a drop of the Ocean, which once falls into the Ocean, looses it´s own mayavee limited false identity as an individual, to become in reality one with Ocean.... And once in the Ocean, who can trace those individual drops some time ago.... Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj, tells us in His pure paviter Bani on how to devote ourselves to Wahiguru Akal Purukh, and not only that, but also which we must surely do, in order to please Him. Because devotion everbody does in their own way, but here Guru Jee is telling us, that, in order to achieve spiritual purity and to ultimately merge in, is only possible by pleasing Him, anything done apart from that is "manmat", which be the cause of our being condemmed in the "chaurasee ka chakar". No matter how so ever religiously inclined we may feel about ourselves, but the thing is, if devotion is ever to be done, why not to do it according to Gurmat? So following are the words of Chauthvee Patshahee, where he tries to remove our bharams about true devotion, and encourages us to do that highest devotion, which will in the end fulfill our purpose of coming into the world, which is to reunite our souls with Him with love, so that He and we may become one, such is the greatness of Gurmat alone: ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੀਰਥ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ Jap Thap Theerathh Sanjam Karae Maerae Prabh Bhaaeiaa जप तप तीरथ संजम करे मेरे प्रभ भाइआ Chanting and meditation, penance and self-discipline, and bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage - the merits of these come by pleasing my God. * Chanting, bathing at so called sacred shrines, self discipline or hardships on oneself among other outer practices, are widely considered as means of devotion in almost all religions, but here Guru Jee is telling us, that if does not do at all these things, but one pleases Him, then all the fruits of these futile practices are showered upon us by Him. Then naturally, one may ask, how can one please Him? To this question of ours, Guru Jee answers it in the following line. So serve the Lord with a pure heart; singing His Glorious Praises, you shall be embellished and exalted. * Here, He is telling us to be simple and pure in hearts, means in mind, in order not to injure in anyway to any creature, as He is present in all. Devotion can only be performed when we are pure in hearts. It is not that once in a week we go the churches, temples, gurdwaras, and then in our daily lives we become beasts...in this way we are only cheating ourselves. Progress in ruhaniyat is only possible, by being pure and humble, because only then, the seed of our devotion is watered with His Grace, which will give us the fruits of His Amrit, His Naam, His Shabad, and not only that, but will allow us to gradually become with Him, once and forever. So when He says to sing His Glorious praises, it does not mean sing His kirtan, which is undoubtedly very good, but here Guru Jee refers to meditate on Him, with His Simran. That is why the Bani says: Prabh ka Simran, Har gun Banee. His Simran, is in reality to sing His praises. We must bear in mind, we must pay full attention to the words of our Guru Sahibans, because it is only by following them implicitly, can we ever become spiritually healthy and wealthy. My Dear Lord is pleased by this; he carries the Gurmukh across. * Thus by doing the right devotion only, we please Him, not otherwise. Wahiguru does not want our big big words, nor does He want us to severe our bodies with hardships, nor fasting.....nothing of these sort of things. He as our Father, wants us to merge in Him, and become one with Him. And this, according to the teachings of Gurmat, is only possible by dyeing in His Name. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Maharaj can never ever punish us. Avatars, Incarnations, gods, godesses, Dharam Rai.... may punish some for their misdeeds. But, Wahiguru Akal Purukh can never ever punish us. He is an infinite Ocean of Love and Mercy.... He has nothing apart from that. If He ever wanted to punish us, then, there would be no place to find shelter, but the thing is, He can never judge someone, neither punish. The question of punishment or anger does not at all arise in His Darbar. His other Name is : Dayal Purukh, He is sadh bakshan haar, sadah meherban. If anyting keeps us away from Him, is our "haume", our mind, our karmas ..... and the worse/heavier our karmas, the farther we go away from Him. You see, He is like a powerful magnet, and we are rusted pieces of iron. The pull from the magnet is always there, but it is the rust of our haume, our karmas as said before, which keep us away and distant from Him. So then, what to do? The Bani says, just as when a piece of "loha" comes into contact with "Paras" it is transformed into gold. But, there is another type of Paras, which by coming into conatct with a rusted piece of iron, does not convert it into gold, but turns it same into "Paras" like itself. This is the wadeeayee of this type of Paras. And this type of Paras, is known as Gurmukh, Sant Jana, Bhagat .... where the sikh coming into their company(Sadh-Sangat), is converted from a paapee, into a Gurmukh. Please everybody, do not feel insulted, as the Bani says, we are all heavy sinners right from birth, we all carry our load of karmas , sanskaras, vikars, on our heads, since countless yugas , since we stepped into the creation, we have done nothing but collecting karmas only..... It is in the Sadh Sangat, where we come to love truly Wahiguru, and stop running outside, and turn ourselves inwards, where we search for Him. That is why the Bani says: awar kaaj tere kitteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam. Sat Sree Akal.
  11. Personally I do not think Kabir Sahib was against woman. He was a Bhagat of the highest order, right from the day of His birth in this Bhavsagar. I would even go a step further, He came to this plane under the Hukum of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, to awaken the souls, to the reality of Nam and Shabad, the essence of Satnam. These Bhagats, in contraray to our manmukh behaviour, see the Jot of Wahiguru, as souls in us. They care not for the coverings or layers of filth on us, but their only purpose is to kindle the consciousness of Wahiguru´s reality in us. Their divya drishtee is opened at all times, though they behave as they know nothing, out of their utter humility. Look at Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, He knew right from His birth all that pain and suffering He was to go through the misbehaviour of the foolish mankind. He was one with Akal Purukh, if He wished, He could punish all of them, with just His thought only, but nay, He said: Sachay Patshah, Tera bhanaa meetha laage ..... You see, these highly spiritually advanced souls, do not at all display any powers, they are one with the Will of Akal Purukh. No matter how the world slanders them, and abuses them, they remain absorbed at all times in Nam Simran, and it is from there where they derive that state of silence, contenment and enduarance.... and then also, only forgiveness comes out from them. For if they were to condem us, for our misbehaviour, then not even Wahiguru could pardon us. And as we all know, Wahiguru is an Infinite Ocean of Love and Mercy, so naturally, the Bhagats, the Gurmukhs, the Sant Janas, as being one with Wahiguru, their output can only be Love and Mercy also. We people are foolish, we tend to take these Bhagats, these Gurmukhs as mere mortals, and as per our corruped and rusted minds, we think they are going against our preconceived distorted mental pictures of how dharam should be ... so then what do we do? We slander them, then we abuse and torture them ... we leave no stone unturned, to inflict pain on them. But the fact according to Gurmat is , that they are totally one with the Shabad Guru, these beings are not the body, which one day will decay like any body made out of the 5 perisahble elements. It is the Jot of Wahiguru working in them. That is why, the Bani says: Prabh jee baseh, sadh kee rasna. Har jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey. Nanak, Sadh, Prabh, bhed na paee. Our problem is, our haume, our ego. We do not even know how to overcome our vikaars, our haume, our filthy karmas ...and we are eager to judge these Bhagat or Sant Janas. So dear all, let us read, and listen the pure paviter Bani with full wide opened eyes and ears and get the treasure contained in it thus enriching our minds and souls, so that we may grow in spiritual maturity, and get nearer and nearer to Wahiguru, so that in the end we merge in Him, through His Naam. Sat Sree Akal.
  12. A fantastic post Bro NEO, Sukmani in fact means, the jewel of true everlasting happiness. Now according to Sikhee, this jewel is nowhere outside, but right within us. And this jewel is none other than Wahiguru Himself. All other things fall into Parlay and Mahaparlay.... But it is Akal Purukh Himself, who is the Highest and eternal. So, now we may ask, if Wahiguru is Infinite, Limitless, beyond any imagination, how can we hold on to Him, to savour that Supreme Bliss or True happiness? You see, though He is Beant, infinite in size so to say .... But He is Omniscient also. He knows of our limitations, that we by ourselves can never ever even think of Him. He is Dayal Purukh, He is Sadah Meheravan, Ichaa Poorakh, Sarab Sukh Daata Har.... Thus He has graciously made Himself available to us, in such a simple way, that nobody could ever think about it.... And that way, to disclose Him within us, to make Him manifest within us, to turn out His Niarankar Swaroop, into a subtle tangible Swaroop of His akhoot Jot, of His Anhad Dhun, is as simple as, to still the Simrran of His pure paviter Name in our whole being : Wahiguru. That is when the Bani says: Anter Jot Niranter Bani, Sachay Sahib siu liv laee. In His Simran, the unstruck melody of Shabad is heard, and His refulgence is seen; and when one reaches that stage, True unwavering Love and faith for Wahiguru is generated within us, and it is through this Love we merge in Him. That is when, Tenth Patsahee said: Sach kahoon, sun leho sabhay,Jin Prem kiyo tinhee Prabh paayoh. Unless we erase all the filth of vaasnas, karmas, and sanskaras, and become a pure drop of that Love of Wahiguru, we can never merge in Him, do whatever we may. The Bani of our Guru Sahibans is utter Truth, throughout all the Yugas. Whosoever wants to merge in Him, must follow this ritual of Love, of His Simran, from which all blessings are showered on us. Last but not least, that is why the Bani says: Prabh Ka Simran, sabh teh oochaa. Sat Sree Akal.
  13. Brother, all the memebers above from the sangat have given you the right ways to improve and bring the best of you, but let me add two cents here. First of all take out yourself. Though it may not be your case that much, but we usually feel hurt, when we feel we are the doers.... Just sing His glory with all your heart and soul. Remeber, singing His Glory is not being a disco dancer or singer, it is being a kookar, singing the praises of our beloved Master Lord Wahiguru. Once you take out yourself from the scene, then only He and His mahima remains .... and believe it, His power is such, He can make a tiny mustard seed into a huge mountain. So free yourself, do not even notice you are singing His Bani, He will bring out the best in you, leave it on Him . Sat Sree Akal.
  14. All these unhuman and painful situations occurr, because of beings who are foolish and blind. And the most insane expressions are, it is done in the name of gods..... How can that at be called religion or dhrama? The problem is not with the religions or dhramas, it is the fault of the foolish people. We as souls are sent here to wash our filth with devotion, and merge in that Supreme Truth, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. But, what are we doing? We want to conquer the world and make it part and parcel of our dharam...we tie heavy chains around our necks, such as land, mazab, dharam, zaat, paat..... So naturally we imbalance and pollut our minds with falseness.... We think we have the right to punish and ill treat those who do not believe and think like us, to the extent, we kill others, or die for our fanatic ideology. Religions do not promote fanatism, it is the foolish peple who do so, they misinterpret and twist the teachings always, so naturally madness and disasters are the consequences .... We must bear in our minds, religion, as said somewhere, means the path which takes us to Him and merge in Him. This path can not be different for different people of different cultures, or nations .... Outer rituals and dogmas, can be different, languages can be different, but that Supreme Truth is the same for all, as the Bani says: Ik Noor se sabh jag upjaa The Bani truly and wisely says Noor. Now what is that Noor ? Noor means Light, means energy, but not any energy. It is an energy of the Highest order with Full consciousness, power and presence. We can see, Guru Jee does not say: Wahiguru, Allah, God, Bhagwan.... rather He says, that everything was created by that Noor. So if everything was created by that Noor Energy, call it Nam, Shabad or Word, then why so much of hatred of me, my religion, my god and my land ? The thing is, if it was one or two foolish people, it would be a lesser problem, but no, we are countless moorkahs and manmukhs, polluted by the mahamoorakhs so called leaders .... The balloons can be of various colours, sizes and shapes, but it is the same air/gas(Noor/Naam/Shabad) present in all of them in equal measure. We are living beings, just because of the presence of that Noor, Nam or Shabd within us. The moment, that Supreme Power withdraws itself from that materialistic and insentient body, that body just falls down, and becomes a handful of dust... That is the reality of our bodies, just a handful of dust.... And to think, we commit such atrocities, due to this useless and valueless dust ..... Would not be it foolish, to say: hey you, you are rubbish, I am the real one? Yes it would be. All our problems are due to our narrow mindedness. If only, we could pay attention to the Bani, we will definetely change our foolishness into wisdom. The Bani is simple, not difficult at all. The thing is, we recite it as parrots, so we do not pay attention to the spiritual wealth contained in it, so naturally we continue to remain as blind paupers .... Dhan Dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj tells us in His pure paviter Bani about who are the most foolish. The most foolish of the foolish are those who do not believe(accept) (in) the Name Here He clearly tells us: our foolishness is due to our negligence to Naam, or call it Shabad, or the Noor mentioned above, it is the same thing. He says, we do, and prefer to do many things like outer rituals and hypocrisy ...thus we can never become pure. Then going one step forward even, He says: ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਾ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ Sathigur Kai Bhaanai Man Vasai Thaa Ahinis Rehai Liv Laae सतिगुर कै भाणै मनि वसै ता अहिनिसि रहै लिव लाइ Through the Pleasure of the True Guru's Will, the Name comes to dwell in the mind, and then, night and day, one remains lovingly absorbed in the Lord. He says: it is by associating ourselves with that Noor, through His Simran, that, that Noor/Shabad/ Naam, comes and dwells within us, then we are filled with His Love, to the extent, that we merge our individual soul drop, into that Infinite Ocean of Noor, or mercy,of Love and become the very Ocean. Then wherever we look, listen and talk, it will be only His divine Love, such is His mahanta. If ever we fail to do this jugtee of meditating upon His Name, as per instructions from Guru Jee, then we shall always remain filled with the devlish vikaars, though however outwards we may change our attire, and pretend to be religious, thus fooling everybody, but not Him .... It is Him, whom we have to please and impress, by purifying our polluted minds with His Noor ...not the false world God bless all. Sat Sree Akal.
  15. First of all what is Mool manter? In short, It is the essence of sikhee and the root of spirituality. It is also a reminder to us, the moorakhs, the manmukhs, about the reality and inmensity of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. That, there is only one Lord Wahiguru, and that the way to reunite ourselves with Him, is first of all through His Grace, by which we do the right devotion, and that is the Jap, of His Naam. Ik Onkar Satgur parsad, Jap. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Following is a Shabad of Sachay Patshah Arjun Dev Maharaj in Raag Soohee, where He sings the Glory of Akal Purukh, and talks about the conditions of His Sant Jan, and His devotees : ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰਾ सतिगुर पासि बेनंतीआ मिलै नामु आधारा I offer this prayer to the True Guru, to bless me with the sustenance of the Naam. When the True King is pleased, the world is rid of its diseases. You are the Support of Your devotees, and the Shelter of the Saints, O True Creator Lord. True are Your devices, and True is Your Court. True are Your treasures, and True is Your expanse. Your Form is inaccessible, and Your Vision is incomparably beautiful. I am a sacrifice to Your servants; they love Your Name, O Lord. All desires are fulfilled, when the Inaccessible and Infinite Lord is obtained. Guru Nanak has met the Supreme Lord God; I am a sacrifice to Your Feet.
  17. Memorisng can be effortless, if there is genuine love for His Lotus Feet in one´s heart, mind and soul.... Then, the more one goes through the Bani, more the bliss felt in one´s being... It is being like a child in a chocolate store .... Sat Sree Akal.
  18. Such a pity, so much of hatred, of violence, of racism ..... it is horrible and certainly disgusting. There are some conclusions to be taken in account, everytime these stupid things happen, in order to avoid them or minimize them, cause as long as this world will continue, foolish humans will continue behaving so .... There is One God, he is not a hindu, christian, muslim or sikh. He is like the Sun up over there. Through His Light, He reaches all corners. It is foolish to say or think, just because His Light enters my room, my land, my country....so we try to garb it and make it ours. That is the problem, instead to make ourselves His lovers, and stay in His will, we do the contrary, we want to make Him as one of us or ours, as with a physical person, so naturally this can never be acheived, and rather we will become mad and stupid fanatics, and this will lead us to unnescessary conflicts and violence. Ik Noor se sabh jug oopjay, kaun bhale kau mandey ... Respect each and every person, irrespective of faith, gender, color or class .... Do not try to force your opininos and faith on others. Express yoursef with rationality, but giving space, and time...do not try to convert anyone, as, each one´s destiny is already written...as per his/her stay in the mayavee creation. So what if someone believes or not, what we deem to be correct .... So what if we are many or alone.... each one of us, will have to go alone from here .... So why so much show off and trying to force others and gain such multiplicity? How de we get any spiritual benefits from all this nonsense? The path of spirituality has to be walked by each soul alone, no mother father or brother can go with us there, so how can we expect multitudes walking towards Him there ? Nonsense/moorakta has no limits.... Have we not heard: Sach Khand vasey Nirankar. And if it is only Nirankar over there, where does, I, me, you, he, she, we, you, they, at all have any place? If ever we have to make any sacrifice, let us not show the world openly outwardly, this has no value in His eyes, rather let us kill our polluted minds with His Name. Sat Sree Akal.
  19. Reasoning and Gurmat God gave us intellect to carry on the works of this world of phenomena. Beyond that, our wisdom can not reach .... One who relies on reason alone, can not atain True knowledge(knowledge of the Lord). Reasoning is the function of our physical brain...... God and spiritual things, can be realized by the direct perception of the soul, through contact with the Shabad. The soul can perceive clearly, without going through the process of reasoning. Our mind is too feeble and limited to comprehend the unlimited and incomprehensible One, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. A LESSON OF lOVE We have all heard, God is Love and Love is God. It is by the link of Love, by which we attach ourselves with Him, and finally merge in Him. Dasvee Patshahee says : Saach keho suun laeho sabhay, jin praem keeo tin hee prabh paaeyo. I speak the truth, listen everyone: Only the one who is absorbed in True Love shall attain the Lord. Now, the question is how to Love Wahiguru. Do we need to say or repeat Him constantly : Wahiguru I love You, I love You ..... ? That is not the right attitude. Even at our worldly level, when we love someone, we try not to do anything which may cause hurt, and also the main thing is to spend as much time as possible in the company of the Beloved. So then, how can we express our love to our Beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh? And as we saw above, Tenth Patshahee says, whosoever loveth Him, shall merge in Him. Here, He is revealing us the secret of spirituality, that merging in Him, is only possible by loving Him. And we all know, that only by His Simran, His Dhyan, can we realize Him and merge in Him. It has to be so, as we do His Bhajan Bandagee, we spend a part of our time in His presence , this is in reality singing His praises, and telling Him in His own langauge, the language of love, Wahiguru Sachay Patshah, I love You alone. Wahiguru does not want any words from us, He wants our intentions to be expressed through action, and these can can only be possible through the channel of bhakti of His Naam Simran. Gurmukhs, Sant Janas, come for the only purpose of making us aware of our spiritual nature, and at the same time infuse a bit of His love in us, by singing His infinte Glory, then they plead us, to make grow that love in us for Him through His Simran, till the day comes, when we find ourselves totally filled with His Divine Love in all our being, then only, our tiny self of Love(soul/jeeva) can merge in that Satnam Samundar of Love. Thus, the beautiful words of Dasam Pitah, become true in terms of realization for us: Jin prem kiyo, tinhee Prabh paayo ... Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Yes for sure, a very very Happy New Year 2015 to all the Sangat worldwide . May He bless us with faith and renewed resolution, to dedicate a little bit of our time each and every day to Him, in His Bhajan Bandagee. Thus in this way telling Him: Wahiguru I love You alone the most. Sat Sree Akal.
  22. Brother Satnam, Sat Sree Akal. Your posts are quite uplifting, but let me tell you, for me Simran is bandagee, is devotion. Maybe you want to refer to " rehnee karnee", which you mention in your line below, to the practices of good deeds and putting virtues in action as : selfless service, true love, forgiveness, compassion.... All this is very good indeed, as it softens our stone hardened hearts, and dye us with these divine virtues...... And in my personal opinion, I do agree, when you say Truth is Highest, but higher is still truthful living. I do not want to underestimate your view, neither to create any controversy, but I would definetely say, we all agree Wahiguru Akal Purukh is the ultimate Truth, but when it comes to truthful living, I do not think, truthful living means doing only good karmas as mentioned above, because they will at most get one to Swarg, Baikunth or a heavenly paradise, for a certain period of time. Of course, this type of truthful living is necessary for spiritual practices/devotion, but in the end, if depending on it alone, it is after all a type of chaining, of bonds in this very creation. With the only difference, that, we changed from iron chains, to golden chains, but in the end, we are still prisoners. So, as said, in my opinion, our Guru Sahibans, Bhagats or Sant Jan, when refered to truthful living, could not mean, something which will bind us, that is not their purpose, they want our permanent liberation from the cycle of 84. So let us ask ourselves, what can that truthful living be? For that, let us see, what is Truth first. As said above, Wahiguru Akal Purukh, is the one highest and ultimate Truth. So what is Truthful living? It means, to live being absorbed in that very Truth. And what is that living and being absorbed in that Truth? And to answer this question, we come back to the base of sikhee, which beautifully and in simple words says: awar kaaj tere kite na kam, mil Sadh Sangat bhaj kewal Nam So we can see, bhaj kewal Nam, is living and being absorbed in that ultimate Truth, which in other words, is known as His Simran.. So now, we may ask, why His Simran is the Truthful living? Because, it is the only bhajan bandagee, devotion, bhakti, which not only makes us pure paviter, and fills us with true wisdom, but also makes us truly humble,( which is a very compulsory virtue to enter in His Darbar), and ultimately it merges our soul drop consciousness, in that Ultimate Truth. So only this can be the Truthful living, without any such bondages of creating good karma, as it fulfills the purpose, of our merging in that Highest Truth. That is why also, the Bani says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. Here, Har japeeya is the Truthful living, and Har hoeeya, is the consequence of that Truthful living Bhul chuk maaf jee. Sat Sree Akal
  23. Dear Depressed jee, brother Satnam has beautifully given you the answers, so reading Bani, listening Bani is very good, but to achieve that state of consciousness, is done by hard work, like he said, he does bhajan bangdagee from 1 am onwards, but you may do it, whenever it suits you, but the thing is, to do it constantly and regularly. Just as we eat food daily, in a similar way, our soul needs the healthy food of Truth, of His Nam Simran, which will in due time, purgate you of the toxins in your mental body. Once the mind is healthy, the body will automaticlally function rightly. So give up your evil tendenciy of drinking, because that dulls the vison of the mind, making it a tool in the devils hand to torture you. It will not be easy for you to start, but you have no choice, if you want to come out of the hell, it is you yourself who has to take the right steps, all of us, by His grace, can only give you our moral support, but it is you, who has to put all your sincere efforts. Wahiguru has already blessed you, with a human body so that you can do the bhajan bandagee and liberate yourself, once and forever. So appreciate the real value of His blessing you with a human body .... if you do not make the most of it, then the wheel of eighty four- "chaurasee ka chakar", is already there ...who knows, after how many eons, one may get this nar narainee deh, human body again? The Bani says: Har mandir ehu sareer hae, gyan ratn pargat hoe. This body is His temple, where if done the right jugtee of His bhakti, you will find all spiritual treasures, including the real treasurer, who is none other than Wahiguru, Himself. Sat Sree Akal.
  24. Well said jkvlondon. Does not the Bani say: bin boliya sabh kich jaanda, Kis aagey keejay ardas ? So let us ask ourselves, do we really need to ask Him, or tell Him what we need, or what He ought to do, as per our wishes, our desires? He who has the power to give, surely has the power to know also what He has to do, or when He has to do.... The thing is we have limited ourselves with manmat. You see brother, before we were born, our destiny was written, then only we were born. It is like the movie we watch, is has been prerecorded. Without that prerecording, no movie can be watched. Isn´t it? In a similar way, our present lives are based on our past karmas. And the law of karmas, works under righteousness, without any manipulations, oo any corrupted powers of humans, gods and so on..... You see, He is perfect, Nature works under His perfect Hukum, so if it is so, let us ask ourselves, how can He modify His Hukum, just for our selfish limited vision and desires? Or do we think, we can bribe Him with our so called "prayers", so that He may edit the movie of our lives as per our wishes instantly? It seems that we take Him more likely the genie of Aladino´s lamp, than what He really is. He is an infinite Ocean of love, peace and bliss. So if any discomfort we have, and we want to erase it, we have to do the real bhakti. We have to attach and merge ourselves with His Shabad Form, which can be possible by Hi simran. The Bani says: Har simran me Prabh aap Nirankara. Which means, He Himself is present in His Simran. You see, all that which we have to give, receive or suffer, is already written, which can not be modified. Plus any karmas we do, are all taxable by Dharam Rai. There is only one thing which is not written in our destiny, and that wealth is not taxable. It is the real wealth, unextingushable. The more one gathers it, the more can we take it with us. The Bani says: jal nahee dubey, taskar nahee leve, bhaae na sakey saare . This means, that True wealth, water can not drown it, fire can not burn it, and the robber(kal purukh who collects his due taxes on all karmas performed by us in his jurisdiction:Trilok), can not rob it. But look at the condition of us moorakhs manmukhs: we shall do all sort of rituals, external practices, entagle ourselves with dharam, mazab, politics, lands, etc ..... but, that True action, that True bhakti, we do not pay attention and overlook at it, though our Guru sahibans, in each and every Ang, in the Bani, have only stressed on doing the right bhakti of His Naam Simran, by which we have imbibe the countless virtues of Akal Purukh, and thus slowly and slowly start feeling and knowin the changes that ocurr within ourselves. Ourwardly we may look more or less the same, but by His Grace, our mind starts getting the "rus" of Naam, and sheds all its evil tendencies, and we just adjust ourselves with His will, which makes us ask nothing but only more and more of His bhakti, so that we may have a glimpse of His blessed Darshan. This is the mahanta of sikhee. Sat Sree Akal.
  25. Pen Jee, First of all congrats, cause you have written such a Truth, which many of us while reading it in the Bani, turn our faces by looking the otherside. But let me add also something on this wonderful topic; of course, the Charnamrit of such Bhagats or Guru Sahibans, can definetely rid us of our sins; but that is also true, no True Gurmukh, or Sadh, will ever tell us to do that, out of their utter humility....they will always say I am a servant, a sevadar of the Sangat ..... But that much we can surely say, the real swaroop of these Mahapurkhs, Sant Janas, is their inner swaroop of Nam or Shabad which is pargat in them, in each pore of their being. The physical form they assumed , is just to dispel our agyanta and give us the updesh of His Simran. This statement is beautifully described in the Bani, In Raag Ramkali Dakhni, of First Patshahee Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev Maharaj: ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਆਪੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆਇਆ Aapae Guramukh Aapae Dhaevai Aapae Anmrith Peeaaeiaa आपे गुरमुखि आपे देवै आपे अम्रितु पीआइआ He Himself is the Gurmukh, He Himself bestows the Ambrosial Nectar; He Himself leads us to drink it in Then with His Grace and our kamaee of that Nam, Amrit will be produced within us, which will erase all our impurities, and this means, that Nam will be revealed within us, or we can say, it will become pargat within us, and thus, we will attain the state of bliss, of supreme happiness, which is the natural state of Shabad, of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. The Bani referring to this Amrit, produced as a consequence of true Simran, says: Nanak, Naam, maha rus meetha. In the end, the purpose of any true Sant Jan of any time or place, will always be to draw our attention to the permanent and changeless reality(NAM) within each one of us, which Wahiguru has kept in equal measure in each jeeva, irrespective of zaat, paat, dharam, mazab, color, class, genders .... or any external factor. As long there is life, in any body, that reality is within, and it is there where we should direct our attention, by His Simran, in order to achieve our goal in merging in Him and becoming one with Him. Sat Sree Akal.
