  1. Wahiguru the maker/doer, soul, mind and karmas ..... The Supreme Being´s primary unit of creation, is not made of matter. His fundamental being is a little being, the soul, the jeeva, made of His own substance, in His own image, being or consciousness. Every living creature is a being, a drop so to speak, of the Ocean of that Supreme Being, Supreme Consciousness. And every creature also has a mind attached, - which is also a drop so to say of the higher universal mind - which acts as a sort of dynamic, ever changing screen throug which "reality" is perceived. And the mind is formative. It is the mind which creates multiplicity of changing forms. The mind consists of subtle, shifting patterns - limitations or constraints upon the essential being or consciousness within. And it is the mind that is projected outwardly or crystallized, so to speak as body. This is what makes one species different from another - the character of the mental envelope around the soul. The mental pattern from which the physicall form is manifested. And a part of that mental envelope is what we call instinct- the unconscious and mysterious mental functioning that constrains each creature to behave in the way it does. Every creature is a being encapsulated by the mind, which has taken material form as body. That is how beings reincarnate and transmigrate from one body to another. What a being does in one body, it leaves impressionson its mind, which then precipates or manifests as body and destiny to which that being is bound in subsequent lives Reincarnation is the result of subtle, hidden processes of the formative mind. The mind is the means by which the requiremnets of the karmic law are worked out. The law of karma is actually the law of mind - of duality, of cause and effect, of events happening in time. Now the question of releasing the soul from being encapsulated in mind and the three coverings, to become imaculate and worthy of its union and merging in Wahiguru, is the key for our freedom from the mayavee creation. How to achieve that? The whole of the Bani, is nothing but a constant stressing, that by meditating upon Him, through His Simran, is the only way to our sure success from the perishable creation, to Sach Khand, the realm of Truth and eternity . Nothing more, nothing less. Sat Sree Akal.
  2. Dear Guest, I was just reading your post with attention, and find out, that whatever you have stated, is a sincere cry of your soul. You are saying things that only a bhagat can say, lets us take each line of your statement and see the depth in it : What if I say that I don't want anything not even my soul to exist in any form and wants to die. That is all we want really, we want to get out of the web of the creation for once and ever, we awnt to die for pnce, means for a last time with this very life. So carry on, do not change your mind on this ideal. i just want to quit this is too much difficulty and weird for me I mean 84lakh just for one human life. Yes, we want to quit also, nobody wants to stay in this valley of pain and tears....But just saying you want to quit, will not do; for that purpose of quitting, you have to do something, give your hand to Wahiguru, so that He may pull you out. And for that, you have not to do nothing extraordinary, nor many things, just stay and live in His will, His Bhaana. His Bhaana is also, that He wants us to turn our faces towards Him, He misses us more than anything, in fact, the words you express, are nothing of your own, but His pull within you, He has given you vairaag, which many do not get even after much "taap". In a way, you are blessed, you have already walked half the way, the rest of your walking towards your destiny, is to hold tight to His arm, which is doing His Simran. we are already in a hell. Yes it is true, being away from Him is a hell itself. Also it's too difficult to reach god. Difficult yes, but not impossible. But tell me, what is easy in life? Is it easy to bear a child? Is it easy to study? Is it easy to be a good person? And so on ..... You see, even the sportsmen, to just win a piece of metal in the olympic games or other championships, train daily non stop for eight hours, and you think that, that Highest and Purest, will be got just by lip service? The fact is, He is got by His Grace, and to get His Grace, is the secret to quit out, and to obtain His Grace, one has just to please Him, by doing His Simran, nothing else pleases Him more than this His devotion. That is why the Bani says: Prabh ka Simran sabh te oucha I am ok with one single life and after that a complete death but instead If this is true what you are saying, than do with all your heart, mind and body, the only jugtee for really quiting out : His Simran I am stuck here forever. You are stuck, by our own deeds, though you may not be consciouss of it, so now do some deeds, to get out, as said above, do His Simran with utmost love, like a fish without water... I wish my soul never existed in first place Who wants to be separated from Him? But now, wailing will be of no avail. Do the real job of being true to yourself and feelings, by making this birth of yours the last one... In fact, it is your soul which is talking, who wants to return to its Nijh Ghar. Brother, can you see the amazing Grace of Wahiguru on you? You are talking like and advanced jigyasu, seeker of Truth, without you being aware of it. This is the Grace of Wahiguru alone, He can make stones carry out His orders.... His Hukum. Jin Har japeeya, se har hoeeya. God bless you jee! Wah Wah Waheguru Jee
  3. When we say Gurus or Mahapurukhs, we tend to take them literally phisically. When the fact is, outwardly they look like anyone of us, but it is internally, where the differnce lies. While we are full of vikars and paaps, thus agyanta; they are in full communion with the Shabad Guru within, Naam is pargat in them. This is only perceived by His devotees, they have that nose, to smell that fragrance of divinity emanating from them, not by all, most of us have our noses obstructed with our paaps, so we do not perceive that divinity from them, the True Sadhs, Bhagats, or Guru Sahibans. Those who tortured our Guru Sahibans, or any True sant Janas, had noses like us, then, why could not they get the smell of Wahiguru from them? Because they were obstructed with paaps and vikars like most of us, moreover it was not His Hukum for them also... They are peacefully attuned in the divine will, while we struggle with our agyanta. As the saying goes, One Light, many lamps. The Light, the Consciousness, is, of that One Supreme, Power, and the lamps are the different swaroops or bodies, in which that Light is manifested. The wadeeayee, the mahima is of the Light alone, the lamps are just means. Just as the jewel box and the jewels. The value is of the precious jewels, the jewel box howsoever decorated, is only a lifeless/ unconsciouss container. But we manmukhs, moorakhs, give more importance to the lamps, rather than to look and pay attention to the Light alone, and remove our darkness. And the proof of, that our attitude is not the right one, is, we are quarreling and fighting under the influence of our dark egos...Thus moving away from the Light, the Truth... Sat Sree Akal
  4. Paa Jee, half truths are never good. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me" Jesus. Isn´t there a contracdiction, in this sentence the way you have written it? Why do you not mention that, He also said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing? Let thy will be done. When you say, Christ was a pakhandee, on what basis do you say so? Whom or how did He cheat? Did He not say : Love the Lord above everything, and thy neighbour as yourself. Means, Wahiguru is above everything, and then respecting others as much as yourself, means, there should be no hatred just like that for anybody, neither we should cheat anybody, because if we are on the path of devotion to the Lord, morality is essential, otherwise no spiritual progress is possible. In His teachings, He insisted much also to find the Lord within the body, and meditate on Naam to reunite our souls with Him. You see, understanding esoteric meaning of the teachings of any faith is essential to first know about it, and then if anything is to be judged, it can be done with rationality. Otherwise it is the same in sikhee, we have a lot of parrots, who have tons of words, but not even 1 gramme of it in practice. They easily mix sikhee with politics, social gatherings, and rituals, and mistake that by that behaviour, they are very much sikhs, which is far from reality. The Bani clearly says: Awar Kaaj, tere kiteh na kam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam. Let us ask ourselves sincerely, how many of do this implicitly? Are we not pakhandees, in the sense, by professing being sikhs, while we do not follow the simple base line of Gurmat? But to just condem anybody without any other reason than that of being of a different culture or race, is just fanatism or even fascism. Someone who says to love the Lord above anything, I think that does make Him a pakhandee, other thing is, if He said, do not worship the Lord but me, and this we all know, He never said so. So let us just stop accusing and judging anybody just like that, and creating fuss among the sangat. There are many learned here, many more are naive or youngsters trying to find their way in life, and that is not a good conduct as humans, to fill somebody´s mind with poison. But it seems, some enjoy creating controversies. If something is not agreed, so what? We have to bear in mind, all of us do not have the same background, nor the same interaction with the world at different levels. Questions can be asked in a normal tone and manners, and answers can be given..... The thing is, we should not impose our opinions. It is just normal to disagree. That does not end the world. Give the opinions at the best, and leave it, there should be no hard feelings towards anybody, nor grudges .... The wrong things which have been done throughout the history in the name of christian religion, is like everywhere else .... What Christ told the people to do as per terms of devotion and spirituality, aboslutely nothing is done in that way ... So He is not to be blamed, but only the mahamoorakhs manmukhs, and agyani people of the world ... Stupid people forget the essence of the teachings, then, they start their own manipulation of that path, corrupting it with their ego, their agyanta, their manmukhta ... so naturally, what the original Sadh, Mahapurkh said, is lost out of sight.... This is the evil human nature, which can only be overcomed, by His Grace, and by putting into practice Gurmat into our daily lives at each moment, each second(this reffering, is loving the Lord above everything else, by having Him present at all times, through His Simran). Sat Sree Akal.
  5. Dear Jsinghnz, not every time there is a need to do or say something...Sometime things just flow in a natural manner without any calculations... We need to wide our horizons, we can not, neither we should embottle the teachings of the mahapurukhs of any place or time in our limited minds... It is we manmukhs who judge, they are graceful....their teachings are for the whole of mankind, for whosoever(soul), which wants to return back to the Father. Times and places may change, but we as souls of any part, (as souls have no nationalities), we have the same needs, to return back to Wahiguru. Do not blame the teachings of Christ, which basically are the same as our sikhee. You see, one should not take the teachings of Christ in the Bile literally, as they were not written by Him, but were transmitted mouth to mouth and were complied about 300 years after Christ having passed away. So as usually, we manmukh people, distort the teachings and change them completely. We should read and understand the message underneath those words, that is important. But if we sit and say why this, why that, then it will lead us nowhere, we should always have a positive approcah and look at others, as they also have the same spark of light of Wahiguru, just as we have it, so in that sense who are we judge? Only, if something is wrong, we should say it, otherwise it is just racism and discriminationn, just becasue they are of a different dharam or race... We as sikhs have faced such discrimination throughout the history, and if we too do the same, then in which way are we better? I am not saying to be a doormat, but, not be that closed minded that only me, mine is better, the rest is foolishness... It is the same with sikhee, just as I perceive it. Our Guru sahibans, told us just a few things to be done, in order to reunite our souls with Akal Purukh, but today, that very pure paviter sikhee is going in a different direction, and the worst thing is, everbody is happy under the influence of maya, and nobody asks sincerely the question, is it all that written in the Bani that we follow implicitly only? I am no authority to change or judge anybody, but, I feel pity for all our sikh brothers and sisters, as well as for the rest of the mankind, that, the teachings say one thing, while we are doing many things. So next time before pointing towards anybody, first let us look at ourselves and our surroundings ..... By the way, the topic of this thread is of mahapurukhs, and their way of facing life with humility faith, love and devotion towards Wahiguru or God. It is for that reason we seek their company, to get inspired by them, and get the fragrance of Naam from them, (the Bani says, Har jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey): and to learn how to truly love Wahiguru, through the right devotion, as simple as that. And I do not think, that the quotations of Christ mentioned by me above, are diffferent in any way, from the path laid by our Guru Sahibans. Sat Sree Akal.
  6. A very beautiful topic started by our penjee, on which, some tuks of our beloved Guru Sahibans, the highest authorities, are being reproduced for the sangat : Raag Aasaa: Fifth Patshahee: tumhree kirpaa tay bha-i-o saaDhsang ayhu kaaj tumh aap kee-o. By Your Grace, I have joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; You Yourself have caused this to happen. Dhan so kalijug saaDhsang keertan gaa-ee-ai naanak naam aDhaar hee-o. Blessed, in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, is the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, where the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung.O Nanak, the Naam is my only Support. Further on Fifth Patshahee tells us the secret for our liberation in Raag Soohee: janam maran moh dukh saaDhoo sang nasai. Birth and death, attachment and suffering, are erased in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. jinh ka-o bha-ay Da-i-aal, tinh saaDhoo sang bha-i-aa. They alone join the Saadh Sangat, unto whom the Lord becomes Merciful. If still we have any doubts about the importance of Gurmukhs, Mahapurkhs or Sant Janas; Sachay Pathshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, elaborates for us some more lines on this topic in His Bani, in Raag Sorath: sant parsaad har naam Dhi-aa-i-aa sarab kusal tab thee-aa. By the Grace of the Saints, I meditate on the Lord's Name, and then, all comforts come to me. *Why is this so? Why so much imporatnce of Sadh Sangat? *Because: santan bin avar na daataa bee-aa. Without the Saints, there are no other givers *O.k, thay are dataars, but of what? *Of Grace, of Daya Meher, and because this their grace, we can do the real bhakti of Satnam; it is by being in their company, we stop manmukhta, and follow Gurmat in the true sense. *That is why He says: jo jo saran parai saaDhoo kee so paargaraamee kee-aa. rahaa-o. Whoever takes to the Sanctuary of the Holy Saints, is carried across. kot paraaDh miteh jan sayvaa har keertan ras gaa-ee-ai. Millions of sins are erased by serving the humble Saints, and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with love. *Because they stress only on His Kirtan, His Simran as means of one´s purification and liberation from the wheel of chaurasee ka chakar. *And thus by singing His wadeeayee, His Simran, due to our Sadh Sangat , the result is as follows: eehaa sukh aagai mukh oojal jan kaa sang vadbhaagee paa-ee-ai. One finds peace in this world, and one's face is radiant in the next world, by associating with the humble Saints, through great good fortune *And on top of all, we achieve of our goal: agam agochar sad abhinaasee saran santan kee lahee-ai. The inaccessible, unapproachable and eternally unchanging Lord is obtained in the Sanctuary of the Saints. nirgun neech anaath apraaDhee ot santan kee aahee. I am worthless, lowly, without friends or support, and full of sins; I long for the Shelter of the Saints And for that very reason, Panchvee Patshahee in the end of this Shabad of His, proclaims that, we by ourselves are manmukhs, we are paapee, full of vikars, totally blinded by agyanta, and so we by our own efforts can never reach Him, that is why if board the ship of Naam, of which they are the Captain, we shall reach the shore safely. Surely there are thousands of fake babeys, pandits, pakhandees out there, but, that does not mean, there are not genuine ones, though one or two in billions maybe .... But if we pay attention to the Bani as mentioned above, we can never ever recognize some by our own selves, unless it is His Hukum for us.... It is He who puts us in their company, and for this very reason, I am going to rewrite the pricelss words above: tumhree kirpaa tay bha-i-o saaDhsang ayhu kaaj tumh aap kee-o. By Your Grace, I have joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; You Yourself have caused this to happen. Christ also says something similar to Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, in the Bible: "I have come to collect the marked sheep by my Father" "Nobody can go to the Father except through me". "I and the Father are one, he who has seeth me, has seen the Father." Christ was a Sant Jan, a Gurmukh, like the Bhagats , the Guru Sahibans in the SGGS, though he came around 1300 years ago before First Patshahee, but we can see from His teachings, His words, the path to reach Him, does not change with time, it is eternal for all yugas, past, present or future. We can see in His words, the same importance of Sadh Sangat, of Wahiguru, as well as the need of it for us as seekeres, as sikhs, as in the words of Fifth Patshahee´s. Neither Christ was limited to the body, nor was Dhan Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, because in both of them(as well in all True Gurmukhs), the working Consciouss trascendental power, was of Naam or Shabad. Sat Sree Akal. P:S: No True Sant or Gurmukh ever comes to create any new religion, because their purpose is not to confuse us with outer unimportant things which have no value in His eyes, but to show us that aprat from Wahiguru Akal Purukh and His Naam, everything is perishable and naashvant. So in their teachings , the only mahima to be found, is of Sant Janas, of His Naam and of Wahiguru Himself.
  7. Frankly speaking, to escape from this world´s entanglements we have no free will, or just to say we have a very limted free will . Let us elaborate it a little bit an see it from a rational perspective. First of all, all our relations, our mental or emotional states are all karmic adjustments. Eye for eye and tooth for tooth. Nothing goes in waste ..... nothing is free . So if our present state is due to our past karmas, and our future is based on our karmas in this present birth/body + our reserve karmas in the causal plane, we can surely agree we have no such free will. But by His Grace, we have another type of free will, which do not engage us with anything of the perishable creation. Because if we exercise that free will of ours, we will surely be freed from the mayavee creation, to the plane which is eternal and changeless. We are here due to our karmas and unsatisfied desires, but we can reverse this situation. In the mayavee creation, any karma we do, we have to pay taxes(benefits) to the landlord of that creation, who is none other than Dharam Rai. Wahiguru has entrusted him the administration of the lower creation, and told him, to not block the road, nor tax by any means, to those who want to sincerely return back to Him. Now let us have a look in our horizons and ask ourselves, is there anything her in this world which I can do, and which does come under the tax law of karma to be paid to Dharam Rai? Surely we shall not find anything as such, no shubh karmas, no rituals, no fastings no pilgrimages, no bathings..... nothing of that sort... Then naturally the question arises, so what is that which can be done with free will in order to gain true freedom? The answer to this is : His Simran. How? Well, by His Simran we do not incurr in any karma as such, then we are doing the bhakti who is truly the only free Supreme Being, and third, by His Simran, we unfold the Nam or Shabad within us, thus we board the vehicle of Naam and reach our True Nujh Ghar Sach Khand. That is why the Bani says: Nanak Naam jahaz hae, chareh, so utare paar. The Bani is very simple and clear, it is we manmukhs who have polluted and totally made a mess with the pure paviter Bani of our Beloved Guru Sahibans. Sat Sree Akal.
  8. If we agree and accept there are these three worlds, or planes of consciousness, then naturally we must also acdept that to function in them we must know about the adequate bodies in which we access and move in those planes: "The interpenetration of man's three bodies is expressed in many ways through his threefold nature. "In the wakeful state on earth a human being is conscious more or less of his three vehicles. When he is sensuously intent on tasting, smelling, touching, listening, or seeing, he is working principally through his physical body. Visualizing or willing, he is working mainly through his astral body. His causal medium finds expression when man is thinking or diving deep in introspection or meditation; the cosmical thoughts of genius come to the man who habitually contacts his causal body. In this sense an individual may be classified broadly as 'a material man,' 'an energetic man,' or 'an intellectual man.' "A man identifies himself about sixteen hours daily with his physical vehicle. Then he sleeps; if he dreams, he remains in his astral body, effortlessly creating any object even as do the astral beings. If man's sleep be deep and dreamless, for several hours he is able to transfer his consciousness, or sense of I-ness, to the causal body; such sleep is revivifying. A dreamer is contacting his astral and not his causal body; his sleep is not fully refreshing." Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Stop complaining man. How long will you go on like this? You have had the support of all of us, then one moment you say you are going to improve at other moment you say you are a loser.... You see, nobody is forcing you for anything...rather everybody is supporting you. You have to peep deep within you, and help yourself. Because unless you do no not help yourself, nobody´s words can ever have an positive effect on you... If you really want to be determined and stop watching bad stuff, either put a picture of Guru Jee on top of the Pc or the Laptop you have. So as soon as you see you Guru Jee, you will remind yourself, that He is watching you, so you wil not have the guts to do any bad karma ... And the second option is, break and throw away all the cds, dvds, PC or the laptop even, so that the means for doing bad karma is thrown away.... Something like that happened with me, and I threw away all the bad stuff, since then I became lighter. If you want your house to be clean and smell good, first of all throw all the waste, (which causes bad odour, or foul smell) out of your house, then put some flowers(cultivate the virtue of His Simran), and you will see in due time, how all your house(self) starts (smelling) feeling good... But once again, all this we have told you, it is up to you to change yourself ...stop feeling guilty, and pitying yourself, just love yourself a little bit by accepting yourself as you are, with your ups and downs... Come on man, nobody is perfect here. So, if you can not do any good, at least refrain yourself from doing anything bad. Take one step...then other ...then other slowly. But if you always complain, there are stones, the road is long, there is much sunlight, it is raining, and such excuses, you will never learn to walk and run.... Just walk as you see others doing, If it was not so, Wahiguru would have never given you legs... If He has blessed you with human birth, surely He knows you can overcome all difficulties, you just do not give up...nobody is putting any gun on your head to make you do anything wrong... Hope next time we all hear you being proud of yourself, which will automatically make us proud of you..... Sat Sree Akal.
  10. Hi Eric, I understand what you mean and follow the direction of your point. You see merging in God, is not like going somewhere lie to a theatre, or a football stadium....just to mention a few places. And then when we go there, there soemone sees us, and is a witness in case of need, or there are cameras recording the 24 hours...... neither are there huge masses of devotees or followers...all going on the highway to heaven. No nothing of that sort. The meeting and merging in Him, is something very intimate and personal, neither the mind accompanies the soul there. The mind which is a very calculative item with all its inmense possibilities and capabilities.... There only the naked soul, means, without mind, without karmas, or the coverings of astral and causal bodies ..... If at all, there is anything which goes with the soul there, it is the Shabad Guru. Without which the soul can never ever reach its true Home. There is a famous quote of the Bani, which I usually use , and that is : Nanak, Naam Jahaz hae. This means, O Nanak, the Naam or Shabad is the vehicle, in which, by boarding on it, the soul reaches it´s True Home as said before. Without the means of Shabad or Naam, sorry to say, there is no other path... no yogas, no jap(recitations), tap(austerities), fastings, pilgrimages, rituals, dogmas....absolutely nothing apart from Naam, Shabad, or the Word, mentioned in the Bible. Chinese call it Tao, the muslims call it Kun. God, Shabad, naam or Word, are different terms in different languages, but all refer to the same power, to that same highest level of consciousness, or consciouss energy, which is as said by these Saints, is an Ocean of Love, Mercy and Grace, above all as its main virtues or qualities. Some call Him Sachidananda, which means: Everlasting Truth, Pure Consciousness and total bliss. Others say He is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent all pervading According to the Guru Sahibans or Gurmukhs, or True Saints, or call it Mystics; Naam, Shabd or the Word, is the cleanser, the path, the vehicle, the Light to guide us within, the Guru . This Naam has Light, and has celestial melodies out of reach of the parmeters of expressing it with words in any language. Saints say, to describe Him or Shabd is like giving a sweet to a dumb person and expect from the same to describe it ...and we all know, that is not possible. The second Patshahee said : Akaha bajoh vekhna, bin kanah sun -na, paira bajoh chalna, bin hatha karna.... There, we see without eyes, listen without ears, walk without feet and work without hands.... all these things are done by our sensory system here with the aid of the respective organs ... Christ also said: having eyes ye see not, having ears, ye hear not .... So what is it that Guru Angad Dev Maharaj, or Christ, want to tell us, it is that Word or Naam, as all pervading energy, as Light or Sound form, can be heard and seen by the soul, but alas, we are so caught up within the spheres of mind and maya, we hardly practice Gurmat, namely the real devotion to the Lord, so naturally, no one knows about the esoteric importance of the teachings of any True Gurmukh, Bhagat, or Guru Sahibans of any time and place ... The Bani says: the Shabd or Naam, is the highest Truth in all eras, whether past, present or future... What is the meaning of Guru? Guru means, the dispeller of darkness, the one who leads us from darkness to Light. So , where is that darkness? It is within us. So when that Naam or Shabd is manifested within us, it guides us, from the lower regions, towrds the Highest One, Sach Khand, that is why it is called: Shabad Guru. So in short, going to your question, I would say: Wahiguru is like and Infinite Ocean, the soul is like a tiny drop left on the shore(creation), and the Shabd Guru is like the wave which emerges from the Ocean and is a limited necessary manifestation of that Infinte Ocean, but in that Form, it comes to the shore, wraps the soul in itself, and then only the drop (soul) and the Wave(Shabd Guru) become one with the Mighty Infinite Ocean. The drop, however it may try, can nevr ever reach and merge in the Ocean, unless that very Ocean, becomes a limited Wave and gracefully gets hold of that drop and become the very Ocean. All this is nothing, but his play of love and grace toward us, souls. So if there is any witness, it is the Guru, but then who has that purity to know all this...of course no one, as each one has to workout his/her own purity first, in oredr to reach that level of Highest Consciousness. Sat Sree Akal. Waheguru
  11. Avatars of gods, come to the earth, to restablish law and order of a spiritual order, to punish the evil doers, and and establish righteouness, and moral values once again. On the contrary, Guru Sahibans, Sant Janas, Gurmukhs, Bhagat Janas, do not come to establish any law for improvement for peace or to make this earth a type of paradise, so that the people can live happily and in harmony. Undoubtedly, moral values, are needed to tread the spiritual path, they are means, not ends. Depending on moral actions alone, they are like golden chains on us, and thus we are still prisoners here in the creation. But as said, the true Saints, come only with the message of Naam from Satnam, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. They say, do whatever you may, but if you do not practice the devotion of Naam Simran, you shall remain prisoners in this creation. They say, your True Home is Sach Khand, your True Father is Satnam, and the vehicle to reach there is the Shabad Guru/ Naam. That is it, nothing more, nothing less. Thanks to the Bani left by our Guru Sahibans, we are blessed with true discrimination, so that we live our lives according to Gurmat and free ourselves once and forever, by cutting all our attachments in this creation with the sword of Naam. This means, we can not detach our attachments from the creation just like that, unless we attach ourselves with a higher power, which is Nam or Shabad. And to attach ourselves with His Naam, is to meditate upon it, by His Simran alone. Waheguru.
  12. Dear Sukhvinder Kaur, just as skaur888, has said, make full profit from the chance you have now with a positive attitude, that you are single, and you can devote yourself fully to Wahiguru. He is our true beloved Father, if you turn your face towrds Him, belive me, as per Bani, you will not have any needs, neither will they arise, because by dedicating yourself in His devotion with faith and love, you will drink the true inner Amrit within, which will quench all you desires, and only fuel you to be be more and more in love with Wahiguru alone, with each passing moment. Suppose one makes friendship with a Carpenter, then you do have to worry at all for your furniture, He will fill your house with your needs. This is the case, if we make friendship with Wahiguru Jee... He can make one keep alive even without air, water or food, provided our love and devotion are genuine.... Nay, He is so gracious, that even if you attempt to just take one step towrads Him, He will come running to shower His infinite bakshish.... He is waiting, that someone may even take one step towards Him, to just give Him an excuse, as said, to bless us with "akhoot Daya Meher" Grief, happiness, health, wealth, spouses, children, friends, foes.... are all karmic settlements. All of these, one will get, even if we do not try, because one´s destiny is already written. If there is anything which is not written, and one should struggle for, because our human life was given to us for that purpose only, is to, do that much bhajan bandagee, so that we may become pure, paviter and merge in Him. Bhaee parapat manukh de hooriya, Gobind milan kee yeh teree bareeya... That is it. Waheguru.
  13. If allowed, I would say that, the three worlds or triloki, whenever they are mentioned by any spiritual master, they refer to the three planes, which are: Physical, Astral and Causal. These major 3 planes are constitute the region of Braham. From there on, starts Parbraham, and the end is so to say Sach Khand, though it is infinite and beyond any imagination.... Waheguru.
  14. Dear stingers 12, the question you have asked is worthy a million dollars and more, hats off to it ...... it is a beautiful question, and important in the life of each living being. Let us see what is the meaning in this Shabad that Guru Jee wants to convey us: When He says: Ram Ram karta sabh jag phirey, Ram na paaya jaey. This means, the whole world is reciting some type of name of god. Some say Ram, some Krishna, others god, some Mahadev, some Durga, others Waheguru, others Satnam, some Allah...and like this the list is endless, as there are so many devotees, in so many cultures, different langauges, different religions, and so on .... So Guru Jee is saying, that mere chanting of any name, or the reciting of religious texts, like parrots, is not enough at all to realease ourselves from the bonds of vikaras, karmas, mind and maya. We must bear in mind, that there are several levels of consciousness from Sach Khand below. Being the level of Satnam the highest and the purest. And it is there where we should put our objective. As the saying goes: "jaisa dhiaeeyeh, vaisa hoeeyeh" Means as you meditate upon, there you go and become like that. Meditate upon something below Satnam, one will go to Baikunth, heaven, swarg lok, Shivpuri.... In this way, our Guru sahibans and the true Bhagats, have stressed to meditate on Naam alone, by doing His Simran. And this Simran, has to be implanted in such a way in our minds, that the Consciouss power hidden in it gets manifested , by disclosing itself within us. That is why Sree Guru Amar Das Maharaj tells us in Anand Sahib: Naam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. This means, we have to repeat His Naam by meditating upon it in such a way, that, that Naam, manifests istelf by revealing us its True Jot and we star hearing the divine melodies of that Shabad within us. This Shabad or Nam is present in each and everyone in equal measure, irrespective of any creed, caste or colour, but it is only develpoed in us, by doing its Simran. We all know there is fire in the stones or wood, but not because of that we can get our food cooked, by placing it on them. the food can only be cooked by first rubbing one stone or a piece of wood, with the other one,(this is called the jugtee of Naam Simran), thus some sparks are generated, which leads to a bigger fire, which cooks our food, or bakes our rotis (bread). In summary, we must drench ourselves, our minds, with His Name, by doing as much Simran as possible at all times, thus we gather thr real wealth and fulfill our human birth. And at the same, by performing faithfully this type of highest bhakti, we are entitled to enter His abode. No yam doots, nor Kal himself, can ever stop any wadbhagee soul, who by His Grace has done His Simran with love and devotion throughout his/her life, by returning back to Sach Khand, as He Himself, accompanies at all times, the soul, the sikh, the chela, in the form of Shabad Guru. Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru.
  15. This Das is nobody to judge anyone, but as far as I understand Gurmat, Saint is only that Purukh who comes directly from the abode of Sach Khand to our level, and as there we all know, it is only Wahiguru who exists there. So let us take the support of Bani and satisfy our answers. First of all it says: Ik Onkar, Satnam. The Bani tells us, He is the only one Lord, and His Name is Satnam. And this Truth, is not only stated by our Guru Sahibans, but like all the true Gurmukhs in the SGGS as well. One does not become a saint, by telling others to do good or remember gods, or by changing one´s attire, or by splashing ashes on one´s body, or by performing miracles and displaying powers, nor inducing us to chant bhajans of the different names of the gods..... no.... nothing of that sort. Moreover the Bani, reminds us continouslly, that, to reunite our souls with Him, and for merging in Him, the need of Naam or Shabad is essential, by attchaing ourselves to its Simran, which then transports us to Sach Khand. That is why it is mentioned: Nanak, Naam jahaaz hae. Moreover :Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. As simple as that. Of course morality is good and is an aid for spiritual progress, but only by being good and doing good, is not enough to get freed from this mayavee creation, something more is neccesary, it is important to attach ourselves to that imeprishable reality, that eternal and changeless Truth, which is Naam or Shabad, the essence of Wahiguru. So, in this way, take the teachings of any true Saint, we shall find only three baselines in them, as well in the Bani itself: 1) Sadh kee sangat 2) Naam / Shabad-Guru 3) Satnam Appart from these 3 points, everything is paraphernalia. When everything ceases to exist, these exist forever throughout the ages, the eras, the yugas....as designed by Wahiguru Himself, which no man, no power can change. That is why Dhan Dhan Sree Guru Amar Das Maharaj, tells us the following words in His Bani of Raag Gauri Guaarayree: Jug Chaarae, Naam Outham Sabadh Beechaar. Throughout the four ages, the Naam is the ultimate, reflect upon the Word of the Shabad. So we can see, Gurmat is not difficult at all, it is we who just surf on the surface of the Bani, which is good than nothing, but the real value, and true wealth of the Bani resides in its depth, so by diving deep into it and doing accurately what it tells us to do, we can profit ourselves by getting freely the "akhoot bhandaar" in it, the spiritual treasure, which in short is got, only by His Simran. Sorry, not only that wealth, but the owner, the maker of that wealth Himself, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Such is the mahanta of Bani.... Waheguru.
  16. Dear shastarSingh: You just tell him lovingly, it is good what you say, but listen to me: Sabna Jeea ka Iko Daata, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. And to this One Wahiguru alone, we bow and give our love and devotion. babas, rishis, munis, avatars, devis, devtas,pandits...are nothing in comparison to Wahiguru Akal Purukh. While Wahiguru is the priceless diamond, all others are mere stones.... Waheguru.
  17. Dear SinghGS, first of all, because just as Dhan Dhan Sree Guru Ram Das Maharaj , says : gur satgur kaa jo sikh akhaa-ay so bhalkay uth har naam Dhi-aavai. One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name. So, if I am a sikh, or call myself a sikh of the True Guru, I have to follow His orders, His wishes as a command, as Sat Bachan, as Hukum. And in following His orders as Hukum, lies our spiritual welfare. We must be aware, that our main enemy is the mind. You yourself are a witness of what I am telling you, because you are going through it. You want to do bhajan bandagee of Wahiguru, but the mind does not allow us, it says, it is o.k, you are tired, so continue to lie a little bit, do it later, what is the hurry for.... And we all know, once we give up, that later moment never comes.... Thus we have missed the chance to gather the spiritual wealth for that particular day.... Then again the mind makes one feel miserable, by making us feel guilty, that you are bad, you have not done your part ..... You see how clever and cunning it is? If you cooperate with it by giving in, you are sure to loose, then instead to make you feel somehow happy, by submitting yourself to it, again it rebukes you, to make you feel miserable for not doing it otherwise..... So you see, we by ourselves can never ever defeat the mind ..... Not even devis, devtas, gods, rishis, munis, or even the tapasvees of the heights of Ravan, who conquered the three worlds, but could not defeat his mind, so in the end he died like a dog... If all these higher beings can do nothing in this sense, then where do we stand? Naturally our condition is a pitiful one..... But yes, there is a power superior to the mind, which can defeat it, but only if we take the refuge at their Holy Lotus Feet. And these are none, but our very Guru Sahibans, who out of their love and grace for us, have left the Bani in SGGS for all of us the mankind, irrespective of caste, color or creed. So, to defeat the mind, we have to follow implictly the hukum of Guru Jee. That also, not out of feeling obliged to do so, but out of love and faith at their Lotus Feet. Then when we follow Gurmat in this way, Wahiguru is pleased, and then He just showers His Grace upon us, in the form of inner Amrit of His Naam. Once we taste this Naam within, the mind just stops doing/playing its mischiefs, becomes pure, and is since then, our best friend, who cooperates with us at all times in our spiritual goal, of becoming one with Wahiguru. So brother, getting up early and doing bhajan bandagee, has only benefits. It is for us, to make the most of our limited life, by gathering the wealth of Naam, which is the only thing, that goes with us, and helps us a lot in the spiritual realms. Then doing bhajan/simran at the early hours has other benefits, like, there are no phone calls, no traffic noises, no radios or televisons on, the atmosphere is cool and calm... you see all these ingredients are necessary for meditation, concentration, simran. But the main thing is to keep Him as our objective at all times, then nobody will have to tell us do this or that... we will have His Grace to know, what to do , and the will power also to do it... Such is the mahanta of our beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh, let us open our hearts to Him without any reservations... He is continously blessing us, can´t we even devote ourselves to Him for a short time? Is that too much to be done? That also, that devotion we do, it is only for our benefits ...... we are not doing Him any favour by loving Him, but rather to ourselves alone. Let us stop being lazy and silly, and just wrap ourselves as a garland of flowers at His Lotus Feet, by doing the only devotion which pleases Him the most, and that is His Simran.... Waheeeguruuuuu, toon atee Sundar, toon mero pyaro.
  18. Dear brother Singhstation, just faboulous, congratulations for spreading His gyan. After all this what we all need, to be reminded of Him at all times. :waheguru:
  19. Dear bdemon, The way you ask the question, it can seem, that the existence of one Wahiguru is questioned, and maybe that is not your intention, but it sounds so.... But anyhow going to your question, that Wahiguru exists, there is no doubt about it. Wahiguru is the only permanent, eternal, Truth. And He is best described in the mool manter. After all, all jeevas, right from the plant kingdom, up to Sach Khand, are nothing but levels of consciousness. Like for example, you take a battery, you have the negative pole, right at the bottom, and the positive pole at the top of the battery. The energy is at the fullest, at the top, and as it starts going downwards by its use, it becomes less and less positive, to the point in the end that it becomes zero when it touches the bottom. In a similar way, just take this creation as a battery, in which the lower the specie of life, the lower its level of consciousness, on the contrary, the higher the level or state of evolution of that soul, the higher or purer that soul, and as such, its consciousness. Man is the top of the creation, among all creatures. And this means above all gods, godesses, devis, devtas, angels, celestial beings.... These beings have acheived their present status, because when in human form, they did extremely good karmas, so they are enjoying thier karmas, and once they are finished some day, they will have to come back into this creation, but they do not know in which joonee it can be.... On the other side, if one does not act accordingly to the laws of nature even by being born in a human form, one will fall down to the lower species of lives..... and once again, start its evolution towards upwards, and that may take millions of years, to get the human birth. This has to be so, beacuse our soul is a particle of Wahiguru, where ever it maybe, its natural tendency is towards its origin which is Wahiguru...so this creation is in a manner a stage, a process of the evoution of the soul, until it becomes one with its Origin, there is no other way. The Bani tells us: bhaee parapt manukh deh hooriya, Gobind milan kee yeh teree bareeya. This means, you are the most fortunate among the creatures, as you have been blessed by Him with a human life, so this is your chance, to make the most of it, and become one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh, through devotion to Him alone. The wise ones have stated: jaisa dheeayeh, vaisa hoeeye. This means, as you meditate upon, so you become. You think or are attached to dogs, cats, parrots, gods, devis, devtas ...there you shall go. Nature satisfies all our desires, so we must be careful upon what we meditate or get attached to. So in this way, if we love and devote ourselves to Wahiguru only, who is free from births and deaths, who is the highest, naturally, in Him we shall merge. And so, what is to meditate on Him, or love Him? The Bani tells us: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. He who meditaes on Him by His Simran, become one in Him without any distiction, that is His mahanta..... His wadeeayee... we just show Him a sample of our love to Him, and He is so graceful, so merciful, that He just pulls us to His level. This is what the Bani means, when it says: Jevad Aap, te vad Teree daat. Wahiguru Jee, just as big as You are, so great is your gift of mercy upon us, cause You make us, as big as Yourself. We have with Him for us, we can become as big and free as Himself, but we moorakhs still look for devis, devtas, gods ..... These gods are nothing, but compared to Him, are His servants carrying out the duties assignated to them, while He Himself is the Emperor, the True King, Sachay Patshah..... Wahiguru Akal Purukh. These gods, just as an example to illustrate what they are compared to Wahiguru, though the reality is much much higher and superior, they are like a 1 watt bulb at most, while He is not one Sun, but billions and trillions of Suns moons, stars all together and more even than that.... one is left speechless, when coming to terms of His Majesty, His inmensity. The Bani also tells, there are many creations, and as such, many Brahmas, Shivas and Vishnus exist in each of them, while He is Iko. The Bani also tells us: Har Iko Daata seviye, Har Iko Daata dhiayeeye. Sabna Jeea ka Iko Daata, so meh visar na jae. Just imagine, if we are so fascinated by these gods, devis ... devtas, because they may impress us by their powers, so what to say about Wahiguru then, the One who has created, not one, not two, nor three, but countless of these beings, and ven then He is infinitely the most Supreme.... just imagine His power, just imagine His wisdom, His Grace, His beauty, His splendour, His lightning, His refulgence..... Can we ever comprehend Him adecuately? Nay, never ever .... He is Alakh, Agam, Oouch, Apaar, Beant Soami..... Wahiiiiiguuuuuuurrrrruuuuuuu. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. I think, Guru Jee keeping in mind how moorakhs we are, cause we like to go left and right, instead to look just to the front, keeping Him only as our objective ..... Guru Jee knows, we are weak, and we may some times think looking at other deities in case of emergency .... as we may never know... So Guru Jee said, no need to look here or there, just knock one door, and stay as a kookar at His door, He is as good as Vishnu, Brahma or Shiva for you, or even as their mother Maya, cause He can bestow you, that what you may seek from these gods, these devis, devtas..... And not only that, but Sachay Patshah Dhan Dhan Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, goes one step further and tells some of the countless virtues of that True Guru us in Raag Gond: guroo guroo gur kar man mor. Chant Guru, Guru, Guru, O my mind guroo binaa mai naahee hor. I have no other than the Guru gur kee tayk rahhu din raat. I lean upon the Support of the Guru, day and night. Then in the mid of this Shabad, He just bursts out, and proudly reveals us the mystery of the mysteries, which no mind can ever understand or imagine: Gur parmaysar ayko jaan. Know that the Guru and the Transcendent Lord are One And so as Wahiguru and His mahima is infinite, in the same way Guru´s mahima, can never be done justice by exressing it in any way: Gur kee mahimaa kathan na jaa-ay. The Guru's glory cannot be described. Sat Sree Akal
  21. Verily true. The statement of the brother in the post above, is a statement out of pain and despair to see where our sikh Dharam is heading. He is not saying that actually Guru Jee is wrong, but wants to tell us, that enough of maanmat.... The beauty and value of the Bani is overlooked, nobody cares to experiment those higher truths within us as described in the Bani, but rather the outer aspects are given importance, so naturally we will never ever taste the bliss of all that sikhi is about, but loose our lives after peanuts, when our Father Wahiguru wants to give us His hands to pull us out from this mahabhavsagar, and give us our real spiritual heritage, which is to be with Him, in Sach Khand..... Sat Sree Akal.
  22. Two days ago, I looked at bad stuff again. Maybe I don't respect GuruJi enough. What should I do? Dear SinghGS, our main enemy is the mind, so, in my humble opinion, we should at all times take shelter of the Bani, to overcome all our weaknesses by victory over them. And as Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj tells us in Raag Saarang, do only faithfully Naam Simran. You may ask why, only that? For that question, let us see what does Guru Jee is telling us in the following words: jap tap sanjam karam sukh saaDhan tul na kachhoo-ai laahi. Chanting, deep meditation, austere self-discipline, good deeds and other techniques to being peace - they are not equal to even a tiny bit of the Lord's Name. So you see, if nothing is equal to even a tiny bit of His Name, then why not assure sucess once and forever, by doing the right type of bhakti as instructed by Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev.... And, if we have even 1 gramme of common sense, let us do what Satguru Jee is telling us, let us stop doing what others say by mouth or hearings; because in spiritual matters, only beings of the highest level like our Guru Sahibans are to be paid attention, in that lies our sole benefit. Sat Sree Akal.
  23. Pen jee, we are humans, and we do have emotions, we have a heart, and a mind. So it is normal all these thoughts you have to an extent. Though the they are disturbing and painful, they can not be removed from one´s mind just like that, but surely, their effects on us, can be felt less only, by the wisdom of the Bani. Why so? Because, it is the panacea from Wahiguru for all our ills, if only followed faithfully. Our main problem is haume, of me, mine, yours, theirs, etc... Bani tells us, all our relations are due to karmic adjustments. To some we have to give, from others we have to receive. Once this adjustment is settled, be it father, mother, brother, sister or son, each one goes its own way, without even looking back for a moment, when the yam doots come to collect us.... But, this does not mean, we should not love our relations. We should love them, like for the example, the duck is in the water, but when it wants to, it can fly. This means, we should know our limits. Going back to love our parents, it is just but natural, to love them, we should be thankfull to them, that through them we have got this most valuable human body, for the purpose of realizing Him within us, it is our chance to free ourselves from the cycle of Our only true relation, is with Wahiguru, He is everlasting only Truth and reality. The purpose of Gurmat/ Sikhee is to make us realize our true spiritual nature, and to profit ourselves by experiencing those higher truths in the Bani, thus being firm in faith , in love and in devotion, at the Lotus Feet of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. And all this grace, all blessings from Him can be obtained, if we just love Him as someone near and dear, not as someone far, or even as for some as mental projection only...... So by the Grace of our Guru Sahibans, this spiritual transformation is possible only if we follow their jugtee or updesh implicitly. They say: aath paher Prabh dhiavoh, saas saas simroh Gobind .... that is it, as simple as that. By this way, we learn to offer our true love to Him, this is Gurmat. So naturally if we act accordingly to His will, there is scope for sucess only, then there are no failures. Gurmat is a perfect spiritual science. And by abiding with it all times, we get true spiritual gyan, this leads us to the last step of the ladder, with faith, courage and fearlesness, which is Sach Khand, the Mansion so say, of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. So pen jee, just turn towards Him, through His Simran, and you will be filled with His infinite love, and this will also be the medicine for all our shortcomings and weaknesses, because then by His grace, we shall be turned into Him. Sat Sree Akal.
Those who are branded with Your brand fight bravely in battle; those without Your brand run away. Here Bhagat Kabir Jee, is telling us that, those who meditate on Him, with His Name, fight bravely with the mind and succeed in defeating it, others , the rest of the people, just give up, and say, no no I can sit no more. As recommended by all Saints, Naam is the only weapon to fight with the mind and defeat it forever, otherwise, the fierce and mighty mind, no matter which other bhaktis we may do, will not leave/loose its grip on us. It is only when, it gets hurt by the blows of His Simran, that, it falls K.O. And this is because, though we may never ever estimate the real value of His Simran, which most of us take it so lightly, but the fact is, it empowers us with His power, to overcome our weaknesses, sins, vikars, etc ..... and become as pure paviter as He is, so to say, to merge in Him. Then Kabir Jee says: ਕਬੀਰਿ ਦੀਈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕਉ ਲੀਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ Kabeer Dheeee Sansaar Ko Leenee Jis Masathak Bhaag कबीरि दीई संसार कउ लीनी जिसु मसतकि भागु Kabeer gives it to the world, but he alone receives it, upon whose forehead such destiny is recorded. In the above line He is clearly telling us, the Bani constantly tells us to do His bhajan bandagee of His Simran, but many of us prefer to do many other things. This is so because, he alone can repeat His Name, on whose forehead is written so by Him, not otherwise.... What can the poor mortal do also.... To devote oneself to Him, in His real bhakti, is also a bakshish from Wahiguru, let no one think that it is done per our will... we are moorakhs. Gyan, dhyan, kich karam na janaa ..... saar na janaa teree, sabse wadah Satgur Nanak, jin kal rakhee meree By myself my Lord, I have no merits, have not any knowledge, nor do I know how to sing your glory adecuately, it is only becase of You, through your grace, that you have accepted me at Your Lotus Feet. Sat Sree Akal.
