  6. china and india will shove eachother but won't go to war but will try hurting eachother without going to war but sikhs need to be prepared and best way to prepare is get trained, each sikh family should have one family member in the army if child from each family has military service thats a good 4 to 5 million trained sikhs in combat but cause sikhs lack training and keep getting weaker the sikhs took a raping in the 80's and 90's with over 200 000 inocent youth killed, if each family member had one properly trained saint soldier during 80's and 90's every time the indian security forces entered a village in the 80's and 90's rather then people running scared and getting butchered it would bin the indian security forces getting butchered
  7. why have so many punjabis accepted being slaves like under british rule were many were loyal to the british rather then standing up for freedom today allowing corrupt politicans to enslave the punjab even though they have the democracy to vote in public servants how does punjab break out of this and people of punjab wake up to the slavery
  8. gsp, but bruce lee if alive today would train in more modern martial arts like muay thai and and would be the world champ in the 135 pound weight division Dana White and the future of UFC (2004) Wickert, Marc. 2004. Dana White and the future of UFC. fighttimes.com Actually, the father of mixed martial arts, if you will, was Bruce Lee. If you look at the way Bruce Lee trained, the way he fought, and many of the things he wrote, he said the perfect style was no style. You take a little something from everything. You take the good things from every different discipline, use what works, and you throw the rest away. but nice try
  9. why is their so much politics in the gurdwara and gurdwara politics alot like government politics the politics divide the community up and cause of the politics their is so much money that goes to waste in these gurdwara's that could go to be used to hire human rights lawyers for sikhs in inda, run day cares at the gurdwara for free so we don't have a generation not knowing punjabi and sikhi, the gurdwara would be able to help people using sikhi who have suffered abuse instead these gurdwaras are run brutally bad WHAT IS THE CAUSE AND SOLUTIONS TO THESE PROBLEMS? Proprs to the sikh youth slate at guru nanak gurdwara in surrey canada for workign at ending this
  10. unfortanatly sikhs are losing this fire in them as the years go by, sikhs are getting weaker as time goes which is really sad more sad is if india were to attack the punjab again sikhs would be in twice the trouble then they were in the 80's and 90's considering india buy's more weapons from the US then any other country and are signing packs with other country's like us and isreal to train their soldiers Sikhs need to bring back their military traditions were each family sends one child into the army to learn combat
  11. i think english and punjabi are some of the biggest problems keeping youth away, alot don't know punjabi and the gurdwara's stay away from english
  12. what are some ideas to attract more youth to the gurdwara and educate people on sikhi and history
  13. at the end of the day the sikhs are failing their sikh sisters
  14. if sikhs had the same drive they did 200 years ago they wouldn't make excuses and in every country you would be seeing sikhs leading in army in public service in buisness medicine science athletics
  15. england canada america arn't like india 1984, these western country's are home to everyone thats why you have minority's doing so well look at the american whitehouse or the sikhs in canadian parliment or success of sikhs in england, also indians are the most economically successfull community in america these are our country's and our homes, these country's are home to all who live their and joining the army gives you free post secondary education, you learn leadership skills, you learn to fight advirsity, you learn to set and hit goals, you gain so much respect heck if your a war veteran you'll never get a speeding ticket 90% of the time if your pulled over unless you act like an <banned word filter activated> and get vip treatment in many places, also for the singh's cryiing about girls not liking sardars in the states its college athletes and war vet's who get the most women AND ITS NOT FIGHTING FOR YOUR COUNTRY BUT FOR HUMANITY AS A SAINT SOLDIER, YES THEIR ARE A MINORITY OF BAD APPLES IN EACH ARMY, BUT THATS WHY WE NEED MORE SAINT SOLDIERS ON THE BATTLEFIELD AS WELL ITS A SIKHS JOB TO BE TRAINED IN COMBAT, IF WE ARE WELL TRAINED IN COMBAT AND WELL ORGANISED HECK WE COULD BRING JUSTICE FOR SIKHS IN INDIA, AS WELL THE PAKIS WOULDN'T BULLY THE SIKHS IN ENGLAND CAUSE OF THE MILITARY TRAINING, THE SIKHS IN AMERICA IF MOST SARDARS WERE TRAINED IN COMBAT LIKE BOXING MUAY THAI AND JOINED THE MARINES THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO USE THOSE SKILLS AGAINST ANYONE WHO TRIED ATTACKING THEM
  16. their's alot of sikh shows in england and canada why not bring on local politicans to discuss issues like this and gather sikh vote up
  17. non of it was non sence just truth, i was just exposing the lies placed by fans of traditional martial arts I just believe if you want to train then learn the best and I hate when lies are spread around thats why i believe you defeat the lie with the truth, traditional martial artists are dumping 6 billion lies out their about their martial art vs mma cause people who are smart and do their research choose to train in mma over traditional martial arts cause mma is much better then traditional martial arts and shastar vidya is a waste of time, i believe sikhs should learn and train but go to the best of the best gyms to train
  18. I really think england and canada were punjabis have a huge influence with votes should come together and start voting in and voting out politicans who stand up for human rights
  19. punjabis are the hardest working community over 90% do extremely well cause the parants work 18 hours a day to get their kids everything, unfortanatly when you put in the punjabi culture of boys being favored over girls and boys getting spoiled and aprants working while boys grow up listening to gangster rap http://www.amren.com/mtnews/archives/2005/12/cultural_issues_drugs_poverty.php good read The tendency toward favouring boys in the culture has produced what Kandola calls Generation S—for Generation Spoiled. “When a 19-year-old has a $50,000 car you’re asking for a death warrant,” he said. “Our research tells us that 70 per cent of the boys who are killed are either the only son or the first son.” http://www.sikhnet.com/news/1984-and-indo-canadian-gangs The true feminine is the Grace, the loveliness of life. The true masculine serves her and protects her Grace. This is available to all who serve the Guru. Dark secrets and anti-social behaviour reveal the underbelly of families and communities. Young men joining the Punjabi gangs are coming from middle and upper class families that spoil them. They are known by the enforcement authorities as ‘mama’s boys’ with poor impulse control, using bravado to bolster their egos. Their gangs are not as sophisticated as the more established Asian ones, but are very violent and dangerous as their passions are played out in public venues for attention and status. At source is a patriarchal system that prefers boys over girls, that has a double standard of expectations of boys and girls, that perpetuates the demeaning of the feminine (in men and women). Combined often with a traditional authoritarian parenting style that precludes real communication, the youth often feel alienated and misunderstood. The false masculine is being played out in the gangs. The hunger for power, money and status to hide a deep insecurity and fear of the True Self. This is the counter-balance to the prevalence of the false feminine in the patriarchal culture – the repression of the feminine, the violence against women. Boys are spoiled and seen as trophies in families. Girls are aborted and burned for their dowries. Mothers-in-law are bullies, widows are shunned, and elder women are depressed, girls are flirts and sell their grace to get attention and security from men. There are also other false masculine arenas. Aggressive businessmen with no integrity. Pervading fraud in the community: taxes, immigration, and unemployment fraud. The doubtful integrity of leadership in the Gurdwaras and the mismanagement of funds. These are woven into the mainstream culture and more difficult to deal with. Suggestions for Healing The gangs are the end product, the focus people, of thousands of years of denial and repression of our True Nature – of all of us humans. There is no quick or simple solution. It will take effort, faith, lots of creative people and time to restore balance in our communities. By shifting the focus from the gangs (including telling boys not to join gangs!), to the communities and source of the gangs, a positive result begins right away. Just a Few History shows us that change comes from the few – either the dominant few or the righteous few with the courage to stand up to injustice. Indira Gandhi was a powerful political leader but had become corrupt. Sikhs, as a tiny minority, were able to disrupt this status quo. Only a few are needed, as leaders, to work on balancing themselves and their families, transform their inner demons, honour each other, stop projecting out their fear and pain, and hold the space for others to do the same.
  20. im trying to find it on the internet
  21. Sikh Youth Vancouver Hold Public Meeting To Push For Positive Change VANCOUVER – After two years of court battles, the election for the Ross St. Gurdwara is finally near. In eight weeks the show will finally come to a close. In anticipation for the election the Sikh Youth Vancouver group held a public meeting at the Himalaya Restaurant last Sunday. There were no negative attacks against anyone. The only negative issue appears to be the current “political situation”. The public meeting highlighted the success of the past two years as well as bringing awareness of the obstacles and challenges that were faced and those up ahead. The Sikh Youth Vancouver fought a fierce court battle and has spent nearly $200,000 dollars. The result of which was equal representation during the enrollment process and a fair third party election at the Gurdwara. The main emphasis was to get all the un-registered voters to enlist. Various speakers stressed the need for everyone to work together as a community and put the future of our children at the forefront. There has been too much lost as a result of “religious politics” financially and religiously. Surprisingly, the microphone was open for all. Anyone from the public was welcomed to give their views. Various community activists, past members of the society as well as prominent athletes stressed the need to work together for a common cause. Satnam S. Johal, from the Canadian Sikh Study & teaching society and past general secretary at Ross St., pledge his support for the Sikh Youth Vancouver and praised the achievements made. Davinder S. Katora, ex-executive member, told the gathering that “many “ex leaders” did not expect a few unknown people to be so successful in their campaign. From Khalsa Darbar they had Gian S. Sandhu (Secretary), Harjinder S. Sohi (Vice Chairman), Avtar S. Sandher (Chairman), Kultar S. Tith (Treasurer), as well as Narinder S. Cheena, Ranjit S. Atwal and Jagdev S. Virk. From radio Shere-Punjab host Kuldeep Singh and CEO Ajit Singh Badh (President of Shromani Akali Dal NRI Avtar Singh Bhullar (father of Commonwealth Games Gold medalist Arjan S. Bhullar) summed up the reality of the current situation with a few simple words. “We have seen many leaders come and go. We are tired of leaders. We now need to have those that will work hard for the community and take charge. This fight is like a wrestling match but with a different strategy,” Bhullar said.
