  1. Thank you veer jio! Could you possibly specify a vide variety? So i could be an all-rounder so to speak? What i had written up was simply Jeet kune Do, Soft-Weapons, and some type of sword (gatka was my first choice).
  2. errrrrrrrrrrr........... your gonna have seroius issues when you get in the states though (or even britain).
  3. well obviously i would do different types, but there is nothing against a Sikh doing some different art then Shastar or Gatka then? I was also under the impression that if i could defend myself or others i would be okay, but the whole Guru Gobind Singh Jee taught us a specific art doesn't matter?
  4. sometimes i feel like moving to india and just grouping all of them up so we can all go in the fields make some food... and then just do some simran for the rest of the day. what else do we need? I pity those kids, they have no where to go right now. It's disgusting because i sit here with all this technology, and i forget that all i really need is simran... Wish i could do something, or anyone could.
  5. well as stated above: do we have to follow the martial art that Guru Jee taught us? or is it okay to go into Jeet Kune Do or Kickboxing or something? Just wanted to know before i started something that i shouldn't
  6. I was just wondering what sikhi or the sangat thought about this particular quote: "For every evil there are two remedies: Time and Silence"

  9. double post.... before the post somehow.
  10. Okay, now i'm really confused, because i read up a little on Operation Bluestar itself.. This is what i found out: Iqbal Singh from UoC said: "It is hard to conceive that 1500 weapons, some of pre-First World War vintage, could even remotely be a challenge to the world's fourth largest armed forces composed of a million soldiers, thousands of tanks, aircraft and modern artillery." so, i mean all they really had to do was just ask right? to get the weapons out. i know i've really strayed from the subject but this is just so intriguing that it has piqued my curiousity. and why on earth did they pick Guru Arjan Dev Ji's day of martyrdom? i mean its easily packed to past 100k people in there.. and (i can't remember where) but it was said somewhere on the internet that the operation was planned 6 months prior to the attack on a replica of the Harmandir Sahib (though that sounds far-fetched) and why could the Red-Cross not go in to help attend the wounded during the day of Operation Bluestar? Now, i have realized, that i have done some research and become even more confused about the subject.
  11. So Indira Ghandi was already in Charge? So this whole thing started with her trying to destroy the Sikh population (as to not start an uprising to her short-coming dictatorship as she tried last time?) Or does this have nothing to do with Sant Jee? Many of you have said it was the Government and the Media, but wasn't the media under the control of the Government??? Wow, what a great democracy we have back there. . . Or did she destroy the population so she wouldn't have to create a state called Panjaab? And was she targetting Sant Jee primarily because many Sikhs listened to him, and if his name was slandered the Sikhs would turn away (I think i misunderstood the post from before)
  12. mainly these arguments were made by the Government? (could someone tell me who was in charge at that time? was it Gandhi or Singh Jee?) The link is very helpful, thank you so much! Very interesting information here. So basically there is an argument between the ignorant/non-learned people against the Sikhs? Meaning, all Sikhs believe Sant Jee to NOT be a terrorist? Good Information, Thanks a bunch sangat!
  13. do you know where I can find such speeches? quick question without creating a huge fight or something: He wasn't a terrorist right?
  14. I don't know why, but when ever the subject of Sant Jee comes up, its quickly hushed. Is it because people argue about him a lot or just to pay respects (i keep getting the strange feeling its the former). If it is because theres an argument about him, could someone educate me on the different views? So confused, I always thought he was a great guy, but the way people today hush him up you'd think otherwise.
  15. please excuse my lack of knowledge with this word, but what is MOHARNI?
  16. have you ever seen the movie Unbreakable? It stars Bruce Willis and it was directed by M. Night. Anyways it was about this guy who woke up sad every day and to not get mixed in the story and other stuff, some other guy told him why he was sad when he woke up. He said that Bruce Willis was sad because he had this gift from God to do so much good, and he wasn't using that gift. Maybe you're in chardi kala..... but maybe you should help others find chardi kala as well? I don't know much about your personal life, so I wouldn't know what i'm really talking about. Hope it helps (it helped me, anyways)
  17. I was just referring to the rehats, for those. Sorry, didn't know peeps would get so mad.
  18. ouchie.. maybe tommorrow pal! just do it inside for now, like me... gonna try to sleep to it. night for me now.
  19. I have so much i could say......... but i wont, because it has all been mentioned before, and if i type an argument up.... you'll just say something that has already been brought up. This forum is supposed to be for learning or teaching. Not for FIGHITNG! freaking turn off your computers, go outside in the sunshine and just chant: vaheguroo vaheguoo vahegurooo vaheguroo vaheguoo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguoo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vhaguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguruoo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo vaheguroo aheguoo caheguro vaheguroo *ad infinitum*
  20. just wanted to note that in God's "eye," so to speak, we are all girls, because we are all His soul-brides. I think we've covered the subject on humans all being equal, so I won't go there. I do wanna say though, that if we had Gays in the sangat, that would be a very bad bad BAD thing. The reason that the girls sit on one side and the guys sit on the other is so that the guys don't "mess" with the girls sitting next to them, in which case they would be furthered from God. If homos are in the same place... i mean... its gonna be a distraction...
  21. I'm assuming this is according to the Hukamnama given in the morning of the Harmander Sahib?
