Go to their house and offer your condolences to the family. Ask when the funeral is and if it suits you, you can go to that. After a few days, the family usually has a prayer ceremony at the local Gurudwara which you should join.

Singh559, this discussion is about ignoring and snubbing all kind of stereotypes. This discussion is about changing our way of thinking. The whole idea is to stop talking of caste and creed in our religion. FULL STOP.

That is exactly what I am trying to convey that there is no caste system in Sikhism but we have been divided on the basis of caste by our enemies. I will see I have succeeded in getting this message across to you when you stop saying,"I'm actually married to someone who in caste system is higher status than me." and start saying I have no caste because I am a PROUD SIKH.

I cannot understand why even simple things cannot be understood by the readers here. Akal Takht has taken the right step because Manpreet Badal has dared to challenge the authority of the Akal Takht by visiting Chuha Sauda. Akal Takht had directed all Sikhs to boycott the bastards in 2007. Whoever disregards the directive should be thrown out of the Panth. That includes the core committee of SAD if they have interacted with the bastards after 2007.
