We need to experience the power of Gurbani through doing hard core Bhagti with sangat." My brother from Christianising the religion it is exactly the opposite of what you have stated. Christianity has now come to the point where there are various sects and groups who preach the bible in different ways all due to egotism. They did not want to learn from those who heald the knowledge of the religious doctrine and started to interpret it themselves thought thier own experiance. Examples are David Koresh, The Mormans, Quakers, Lutherianism, Evangelical Christians, Catholics, Protastants. The same has happened in Sikhi. The original message was convayed by the four core sampardas who were taught by those present when sri Guru Gobins Singh Ji did the arths of Guru Sahib leading to the salvation of those present. This was through the Katha itself but obviously these individuals had a rare jeevani as well. They went through the stages of Sunnan, Mannan and Nidhyasan. One should listen to Katha and Gurbani and should live in accordance to the precious teachings. With regards to people going home after an hour or two of listening to katha and feeling as they have achieved something. The same can be said for listening to a Sukhmani Sahib Paath or Sahaj Paath. Satsangat is essential, Gurbani is essential and Katha is essential(sargun and Nirgun). these are all required but the pride has to be eradicated through submission to the Guru and learning from another about the teachings of the Guru. You would not suggest to a number of children not to attend school. To just sit as a group and read a maths book then to experiance what they have learned. Without the core (texts/shabad) and the teacher one does not actually learn as the ego leads them down a long and dark path to no where. The modern day missionaries, scholars, writers, Bhasurias have all come about due to ego as they do not want to learn the core tenants of the Guru just to experiance and talk about Gurbani in their own desire. Due to these Neo fractions all of a sudden there are arguements over what is Gurbani and what isn't, what is Ithaas what isn't and what they consider to be Gurmat due to individual ignorances. If i have misinterpreted what you have said i apologise in advance
  15. One thing here I am going to say is i am not here to defame or criticise Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh as my avastha or Budhi is no where in comparison. I just think that the view i have of katha is puratan sampardaic and the creater of this thread is a neo Akhand Kirtani. Our views are different and i am not here to defame or ridicule what he is saying but to try to balance the discussion
  16. Har kee Katha Sargun and Nirgun Katha has its differences as we are all aware. Nirgun Katha of Gurbani is the greatest but many people initially gain Vairaag and Vivek hrough listening to Katha of Sooraj Prakash and also sections such as the 5th ruth of the Sooraj Prakash hold all the brahmgian vidya required to understand the deep mystical compositions and Gurbani and the atma. To totally ignore katha of Sargun Upashna is dangerous. If that is done then when Katha of Gurbani is done and uthanikas have to be given or details explained of who the guru is giving updesh to where and why, how can it be done without knowing the historical perspective of the shabad. Most of this can be found in the Sri Sooraj Prakash. The ideal example is the Dohras from Salok Mahalla 9 where one one of the saloks are by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and from the numerous puratan saroops i have seen of Guru Sahib one will find it under the title of Mahalla 10. The saloks are direct questions and answers and the ithaas of the saloks and dohra can be found in Raas 12 Ansoo 60 - 62 in the Sri Sooraj Prakash. Another example is that there are 3 So Dars in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji but were all uttered at different places to different audiances thus the difference in the wording and language differ from one another. If the historical perspective is not know then to and Tom, Jo and Harry it looks like Guru Sahib put the same shabad it 3 times for no reason. Again all three of these are explained in the Sri Nanak Parkash when they appear as updesh at different places to different audiences. Doing katha on the lives and teachings of the Gurus are as imporatant to us as Gurbani. All is Har Ki Katha regardless of Sargun or Nirgun Hari. We should not implore such a Christiann (semitic) ideal in the way that they should only preach the new testiment and give up all historical psalms, apostiles and doctrines. By doing this you can ask the christians about many parts of the bible and they will not have a clue as to where, when or why the psalms or prayers were written.
  17. "Har kee Katha" is referred to Naam here and not katha by some gyani Thats quite funny i have never heard this line referred to Gyanis! The greatest of all is the expounding of the narratives of the Lord. Whether that be Nirgun Hari through Gurbani or Sargun Hari through Ithaas. The above two posts have added some very good points also.
  18. So if you cant do parkah of any other granth then you cant do any katha of any other granth. What happens when people do rehraas from a Gutka, isnt that also doing parkash of a granth?

Can i just aska very quick thing before the mods close this thread but it was mentioned that "anti raagmala sangat has taken this issue lightly and accepted akal takhts hukam of raaag mala being in guru jee's paviter saroop" Other then the Akhand Kirtani Jatha who else opposes the Raagmala? If it is just one group then it isn't really for panthic unity as it is just one sect of the group fraction.

The translations are for the intricate arths of bani similar to the arths done by Giani Thakur Singh Ji in the Jap Ji Shaib Katha which was translated by Neo. These are the same arths given by the nirmalas, sewapanthis, udasis and nihangs since Guru Gobind singh Ji explained the arths of Guru Sahib at Damdama Sahib. Regarding Giani Gurdit Singh's Book on Mundavani a lot of research is being done into the pictures of the granths he posted. Like the jathedar of the time Joginder Singh Vadenti stated that Giani Gurdit Singh Ji had lied and took phtoos of granths that had raagmala but only took the pictures up to the mundavani. Because of this a number of indivuals have revisited these granths and found they do acutally contain the raagmala. A book to counter alot of the lies in that book is currently being written and will be published soon The issue here is that those who regard raagmala as bani accept it and those who follow the bhasuria mentality do not! not alot more can be said of this issue and it will not cease! The thread was started just to let poepl know the book was available if they wished to read it. I do not wish any more to do witht he thread and happy for Mods to close it.
  22. Please just have a look at the book. The Jap Ji Sahib has not been used as the examples. There are other shabads that follow the same system as shown. If you dont want to purchase the book, go into the store and browse through it there
