And I dont question my guru. :umm: But pheena ji.. let me tell you something.. in every religion there's something called baptism.. muslim;s & chiristians too baptised. U and I are born in the SIKH religion! Hence we should baptised in the manner that is told my our GURUJI. Secondly saying that partaking amrit is not important is not right. Please see my post in one of the topics here about 5k's where i put a story about husband and wife. We have and i repeat again have to be pure in and out. It is not done by saying that we are pure from inside hence there's no need for us to partake amrit. IF you are really PURE from inside and really LOVE guruji.. you will NEVER question GURUJI in the first place. Partaking amrit is one of the cycle of our life. There are four cycles: BIRTH, AMRIT, ANAND KARAJ, DEATH. Please note that amrit comes before anand Karaj. If partaking amrit wasnt necessary for us; why should guruji equal Khalsa to him; KHalsa mero roop hai Kaas.. Khalsa here means (PURE) .. how should one be PURE.. he has to be ONE with his body, mind and soul. Comparing ourselves to high avasta like bhagat kabir & farid would not bring us anyway. Well i am no where to be compared to them. Partaking amrit is just a start. It is to disciplin e ourselves so that we can take control of our mind. IT is a discipline that makes us wake up in wee hours in the morning to do simran and our nitnem. By doin it everyday it will be a habit for us. :umm: GIve it a try and you will understand what I am trying to say here. Partaking amrit is VERY important for all SIKHS. For those who are amritdhari, they arent allowed to smoke and drink.. its in the bejjer kurehet.. we had this discussion in one of our samelans.. a lot of people tell this that they love guruji from their heart... from inside .. so why do they need to show it by having all the kakaars.. that doesnt make them any good.. usually this people will always say that whats inside of u that matters not outside.. so virji below is a story for all of us to ponder: THere was a couple who were happily married for few years. One day the husband had to go outstation for some work. He was suppose to come back after three days. But the husband thought to himself that he will come back a day earlier as it was his wife's birthday and give her a surprise. When he did reached home, he had a shock of his life seeing his wife with another man. He got very :umm: . He asked his wife why she did all that. His wife said.. "Physically I had relationship with this guy. But internally I only love you. Even though I have given my body to this guy, but my heart and soul is only for you." She also included, "what really matters what is in the heart and not physically." Now I would like to ask the sangat on this forum; can anyone accept this. That his wife is having an affair with another person but instead she says that the only person that she loves in her heart is you and it doesnt m atter about the physical aspect. NO one can accept this I am sure. Then why when it comes to our Guruji.. we will always say its okay as long as we are pure in our heart we don't need to show it (physically). And for those who are amritdhari, wearing kakaars is not the end. We have to link with guruji, internally also. OUr heart, soul, mind and body has to be ONE. It is not really true.. there are a lot of programs that are usually held both in malaysia and singapore. Recently there was a 3 days smagam in malaysia where sant anoop singh ji came and a lot of other prominent foreign and local raagis took part. Apart from the kirtan program a lot of other competitions took place such as archery and etc etc... THe problem is not as serious as how you are mentioning virji, but as what ive seen sikhi in india has been influenced a lot with hinduism. THe amount of ritualistic things they believe there amazed me at times.

Yup thats what all of us are suppose to do .. during bathing our kakaars should be alwiz with us.. a sikh should alwiz be tiaar par tiaar.. kirpan can be tied with gatra on the head.. keski if ur taking keshi ishnaan can be tied around ur waist.. even ur kangha.. :umm:

10 dollars look so big when we take it to Gurdwara, But so small when we take it to the store. 60 minutes is long when we are sitting in Gurdwara, But short when shopping, playing golf, or watching television. We believe what a person or newspaper says, But question what GuruJi says. We can't think of anything to say when we pray, But don't have any difficulty when we gossip. Well im from malaysia ive not heard about this.. but yeah ive heard bout some ppl going to some ppl claiming they have some baba spirit comin into them and this person will give one or two lines of baani to read so that all their worries or problems can go away. ANd this person will in return as for daswandh claiming it is needed to make a gurdwara in India for that particular baba ... :umm: @ i dont understand this people sometimes. We have our own guruji, to whom we can cry all our worries and problems out.

FIrst of all they are some of you who says that while putting bhangra we can think of waheguru.. can i ask how could we with such loud noise and people jumping up and down around us? We even find it hard to concentrate to do simran while we are in gurdwara then how could someone do it during bhangra? The person should be a chardikala person :umm: Secondly have anyone of us seen any sant mahapurush going and putting bhangra? Ive not.. maybe if any of you have seen it can enlighten moorakhs like us. If we want fun we can have it in a better way.. such as having an informal gathering and doin open air kirtan... gatkha.. paintballing.. doing simran.. just sit and have discussion regarding sikhism.. why waste all da energy dancing away when that energy can be used for better things.. if im not mistaken we are only allow to bow in front of sri guru granth sahib ji and nothing else. Well sarbloh granth can be useful for knowledge use but bowin in front of it shud be a no no ....
