  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji In July 1982, Longowal invited Baba Jarnail Singh Ji to take up residence at the Sri Harmandir Sahib compound. In December 1983, Baba Ji moved to Akal Takht, this was around the time India contacted the British government (and most likely others...?) The attack in June 1984 used 250,000 Indian army troops, action took place against many, many villages and Sikh gurdwaras in Punjab. The false allegation that this was purely an action against Sikh freedom fighters in Amritsar was a lie sold to the world. Many, many women were raped and children killed and/ or made fatherless. Both Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi are directly responsible for the resulting 100,000 Sikh deaths. The water in the holiest of Sikh places ran red with blood (which the Indian army made, the few, surviving prisoners drink).
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji This is shocking... To hear the British government sent a SAS military officer to draw up a plan to attack Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), which resulted in up to 100,000 Sikh deaths, means the British are as equally culpable and responsible as the Indian government for Sikh genocide. It seems, in the UK, the only homage they pay to virtue, ethics and justice - is hypocrisy! Is this why Sikhs fought in World War 1 and World War 2? Read more... http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikh_news/1984_sikh_genocide.html Wicked witch of the east meets wicked witch of the west, both have blood on their hands. Guru's Kirpa repaid them in full. They both stood against Sikhs and were the real 'extremists''hardliners''kharkoos''miltants' and 'terrorists'.
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Hindustani - We understand the point you are making with Raymond Davis. However, two wrongs don't make a right. Even if Raymond Davis committed a crime, this does not establish a precedent that makes it acceptable for Devyani Khobragade to do the same. By invoking this fallacy, you are arguing the alleged crime should be ignored. A prime witness of the 1984 Sikh genocide watched a live relay on Doordarshan and (after Rajiv Gandhi whispered something into his ear) saw Amitabh Bachchan raising his arm and shout the slogan, ‘khoon ka badla khoon sae laengae’ (blood for blood) two times. Amitabh Bachchan, also by making other comments, has been pursued for crimes against humanity and by your twisted reasoning would have done no wrong. Is this why your fellow hindustani's are not prosecuting those that committed Sikh genocide? Are you a Sikh or hindu? why did you hide by the username of Amandeep1378 for so long? Do you wish you were part of the Khalsa? It's never too late to change your mentality.
  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh "India chose to stand behind the reigning Princess of elitism, Deviyani Khobragade, who is not only accused of abusing her maid and lying on official documents, but is also involved in getting a flat allotted to herself in Adarsh Housing Society (a housing project for war widows in India). It’s often said that it is only the most corrupt that steal from widows and orphans…need I say more?" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adarsh_Housing_Society_scam "Now let’s suppose the charges against her hold and she is sentenced to two years of imprisonment for her crimes. Let’s now suppose two years pass and she’s not released, and then three years pass and then four…….let’s just suppose everyone forgets about her and leaves her in jail to rot…. Now that would be something to go into uproar about!" "That unthinkable and traumatic scenario is going on in India as we speak. There are many Sikh political prisoners who are in jail way beyond their official sentence and the Indian government refuses to release them. Rather than to create an uproar over someone who was strip searched legally, Indian citizens should be going into uproar over these innocent souls left in jails when they have already completed their court prescribed jail time." Read the full true story about the Devyani Khobragade incident here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devyani_Khobragade_incident Khobragade was "accorded courtesies well beyond what other defendants, most of whom are American citizens, are accorded". It is also claimed that Uttam Khobragade, Devyani's father, threatened the victims family with abduction and false drugs if they complained about the treatment they received. Hindustani - You represent everything that is wrong with "Hindustan", a country that is plagued by corruption, injustice, and one which punishes the innocent for actions of others. In this case, India has made it very clear that it rejects the due process of American law (perhaps they are confused with their own system of justice) and in doing so, has looked very foolish across the world.
  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji A change in Australian law will be required, most likely (as in the UK) via an amendment to the 'Road Safety Rules Act 2010' This could be done at State level, or if via Parliament would apply to the whole of Australia. In the UK there are 3 main sources of official UK legislation that allow Sikhs exemption. 1. In accordance with 'The Motor Cycles (Protective Helmets) Regulations 1980' passed by the British Parliament on 29th August 1980, Section 4(2)© this exempts 'a follower of the Sikh religion while he is wearing a turban.' The following link shows the actual legislation and wording... http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1980/1279/pdfs/uksi_19801279_en.pdf 2. Road Traffic Act 1988, Section 16 Wearing of protective headgear. (1) The Secretary of State may make regulations requiring, subject to such exceptions as may be specified in the regulations, persons driving or riding (otherwise than in side-cars) on motor cycles of any class specified in the regulations to wear protective headgear of such description as may be so specified. (2) A requirement imposed by regulations under this section shall not apply to any follower of the Sikh religion while he is wearing a turban. The following link shows the actual legislation and wording... http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/section/16 3. The Highway Code - Rules for motorcyclists (83 to 88) 83 On all journeys, the rider and pillion passenger on a motorcycle, scooter or moped MUST wear a protective helmet. This does not apply to a follower of the Sikh religion while wearing a turban. Helmets MUST comply with the Regulations and they MUST be fastened securely. Riders and passengers of motor tricycles and quadricycles, also called quadbikes, should also wear a protective helmet. Before each journey check that your helmet visor is clean and in good condition. Laws RTA 1988 sects 16 & 17 & MC(PH)R as amended reg 4 The following link shows the actual legislation and wording... https://www.gov.uk/rules-motorcyclists-83-to-88 UK Sikhs do not abuse the motorcycle helmet exemptions, there are very few riders. The UK has been through all the safety arguments that Australia is currently raising. Ultimately, Sikhs value their dastar and kesh (turban and hair, to non-Sikhs) more than their heads. I wonder how many Australians complained about health & safety when Sikhs fought in WW1 and WW2 wearing turbans?
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Thank you Bhaji, Waheguru's kirpa. The website is accessible via mobile but only as the full version at the moment. We need to work out how the '.m3u' stream can play on 'android' and will continue to look for a solution. There's still a long list of things, sakhis, articles, books, audio, speeches, etc to add... We have a lot material to share. It would be great if all the historical gurdwara's could provide live streams so we can share them with the world. It will happen as gurdwaras progress with time. Perhaps they need some help/ advice on how easy it is.
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Feedback received from younger Sikhs and people from non-religious backgrounds has been very postive. If you have any links or good articles, please let us know and we'll load them to share with others. We have added and released a number of additional webpages today, including one called 'Twins' (to 'Common Atheist Myths') which is a great short fictional tale posted by luckysingh99 on Sikhsangat.com last year. Other pages we would recommend; Is there a God? here are six straight forward reasons to believe that God is really there. Pascal's wager - atheism is a terrible bet. It gives you no chance of winning the prize. The psychology of atheism - and the reasons for non-belief. Waheguru or science? without god, life is meaningless. http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikhism/atheist_myths.html
  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Bhaji, Wise words... which apply to all unjust actions against innocent Sikhs. I hope you don't mind if we use these words in a web page or two...
  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh 1984... Provide your proof? This lie was the sole justification for genocide against Sikhs and using the Indian army to attack a holy place and massacre thousands of innocent civilians. And a subversive action for the Gandhi dynasty to keep their communist dictatorship alive.
  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh With 'Psychology' in mind, Humble request, when using the words 'extremist''hardliners''kharkoos''miltant''terrorist' please do not use them with the word Sikh... People are falling for a surreptitious campaign that eventually leads to Sikh genocide. The words above are being increasingly recognised with the word 'Sikh' without Sikh being mentioned. This has been identified as part of the first 4 stages of genocide, as follows... 1. CLASSIFICATION 2. SYMBOLIZATION 3. DISCRIMINATION 4. DEHUMANIZATION For further info, read http://www.genocidewatch.org/genocide/tenstagesofgenocide.html Need an alternative... try 'freedom fighters' and those against 'oppression and tyranny'.
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh This 'incident' exposes India's mentality. India's sabre rattling is conveying a special hidden message. Here's a translation... 'We (India) have a lot of corrupt and unethical officials and politicians, which we accept is perfectly normal. We welcome dishonest and immoral behaviour and so do our citizens, we will not hesitate to show our resolve in protecting our depraved actions so in future we do not expect the US and the rest of the world to interfere with our shameless way of life...'. The US should stand firm and deal with the other politicians when they visit next, they can start with those involved in the Sikh genocide of the 1980's and 1990's. The Gandhi/ Nehru dynasty and other minions. Of all the moral causes Indian officials could have raised with the US, they've raised the cause of a corrupt and dishonest official... Truly amazing. I've seen Gursikh children behave better.
  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The Sikh community has been an integral part of the American fabric for over a century and made numerous contributions to the progress and prosperity of our society, including a proud tradition of military service dating back to World War I. In the last two World Wars 83,005 Sikh soldiers were killed and 109,045 were wounded while fighting. In the years to 1945, 14 Victoria Crosses were awarded to the Sikhs, a per capita record given the size of the Sikh Regiments. In 2002, the names of all Sikh VC and George Cross winners were inscribed on the pavilion monument of the Memorial Gates on Constitution Hill next to Buckingham Palace, London. From the founding days of their faith, Sikhs have been enjoined by their Gurus to confront social injustice as an integral part of their spiritual expression and advancement. However, since the 1980s, observant Sikhs have faced great difficulty in serving due to a discontinuation of exemptions to uniform standards which previously allowed Sikhs to maintain their religiously-mandated beards and turbans while in uniform. Americas allies, including Great Britain, Canada, and India, presumptively allow Sikhs to serve in their militaries. By allowing devout Sikhs to serve with their articles of faith intact, America's military can project core values of pluralism and equal opportunity to the world and expand its pool of qualified soldiers. We therefore call on you to end the presumptive ban on devout Sikh soldiers in the U.S. Armed Forces so that patriotic Sikh Americans can freely serve the nation they love. 13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Mark Duggan, whose death sparked riots in England in 2011, was lawfully killed by police, an inquest jury has concluded by a majority of 8 to 2. There were angry scenes outside the courts, with supporters of Mr Duggan's family chanting "murderers", drowning out a statement by Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-25657949 Have UK Sikh organisations/ representatives prepared themselves for any potential issues with safety/ public order?
  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Recently someone (who shall remain anonymous) mentioned 'I don't believe in Sikhism because I believe in the big bang theory..'. We explained the big bang theory (or evolution) doesn't disprove God and leaves many questions. This led to the creation of pages with articles about 'Common Atheist Myths'. The pages have been released today. If you have time to help (and distribute links to friends), please read. http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikhism/atheist_myths.html Any feedback on the articles would be appreciated.
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Excellent work, very professional posters. I would recommend you forward the posters to; Lindt - http://www.lindt.co.uk/swf/eng/contact/ Mars - http://www.mars.com/uk/en/about-mars/contact-us.aspx Nestle - https://econsumeraffairs.com/nestleuk/contactus.htm?F1=nestleuk Thorntons - http://www.thorntons.co.uk/custserv/contactus.jsp ... to let them know Sikhs do not approve of these products. You never know, they might make changes, but they need to be told first. Its a pity that Sikhs do not have a food standards organisation, which not only looks at what Sikhs eat but considers animal welfare. Wonder what the Akal Tahkt would think? Personally would not suggest; Protein from bones, cartilage, tendons, and skin of animals. (Much of the commercial gelatin is a by-product of pig skin) Which, in more normal English, is some; Marshmallows, yogurt, frosted cereals, gelatin-containing desserts, molded salads.. Perhaps, in the absence of proper leadership. members of the Sangat could try and build a list of products with ingredients that are not suitable for consumption. If a list can be created, we offer to create a web page and share the information with others like www.1GUK.com. Once again, great effort by 1GSeva for raising this.
  16. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sukhi Bhaji, nice to see you saw the satirical comment. Dharmi Bhaji, a number of good points. Unfortunately (for Sikhs), Manmohan had a unique opportunity and failed to heal wounds between communities; failed to stand up for Sikhs; failed as a role model for Sikhs and failed to be a Sikh patron. Where are his list of achievements in the name of Sikhi? Was he just a 'nice man in a turban'? Has Manmohan ever called for Article 25 of the Indian Constitution (which says Sikhs are hindus) to be repealed? http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikh_library/english/constitution_of_india.html There are many pictures showing Manmohan bowing, visiting and taking part in mandir event's and showing his masters how a 'nice man in a turban' can be trained to behave. Have yet to see a picture where he bowed in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Unilke, Manmohan there have been many world leaders who have never forgotten their roots; participating and repaying the communities they came from in full. Both Sonia and Indira Gandhi adopted lion cubs. One stayed as a cub, the other turned into a ferocious lion that could not be controlled. His roar was famous, his name was 'Jarnail Singh' and he was from Bhindran.
  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Indian PM Manmohan Gandhi is to retire... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-25585033 Manmohan, an economist who was an unexpected choice for the top post in 2004, has been one of India's longest serving prime ministers. But his image has taken a beating in recent months, especially over a slew of corruption scandals. Also, of late, his position has been undermined by the growing influence of Rahul Gandhi, the latest member of the influential Nehru-Gandhi dynasty (that deceived and murdered Sikhs) who is widely projected as the Congress Party's next leader. He acknowledged that he had been unable to tackle corruption and inflation and also generate jobs - all major concerns with the voters. But he said history would judge him kindly... So how will Sikhs judge Manmohan's term as a prime minister? There are those who would argue that Manmohan has been the least effective of India's PM's ever. He might be a nice person but then so are all front men. A Nehru-Gandhi chela (servant) he did little or nothing for Sikhs. He could not stand up for the turban against other nations. He could not bring justice for Sikhs, for sufferers of Sikh mass murder and genocide. He could not change anti-Sikh policies.
  18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Khalsa Ji, Ik hor saal jeevan da khatam ho gya hai, dab ke Naam Japlo! (another year of life has finished, redouble your efforts, repeat God's name...) and recite the Guru's hymn's. http://www.discoversikhism.com/sikh.html
  19. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has made some significant achievements for Sikhs (parchar, unity and freedom). He has also exposed true Indian feelings. When you read malicious stories in the hindu media, you feel the true sentiment of India towards Sikhs. Wake up Khalsa Ji! the jackal (opportunistic predator) is still at the door...
  20. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Breaking News - Bhai Gurmeet Singh has been released on parole. He was released this morning from jail and has arrived at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali. Bhai Gurmeet Singh has joined Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa who is currently in a private meeting with Giani Gurbachan Singh and Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma. www.discoversikhism.com/sikh_news/sikh_news.html (read more on how India is violating its constitution) (Waljinder Bhaji - you've been carrying a great job keeping the Sangat updated. Waheguru's kirpa, chardi kala)
  21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Western media generally is not interested in covering Sikh issues. They see men with turbans and have been brainwashed into thinking 'terrorist'. Indian propaganda has not helped. Media ignorance about Sikhi and Sikh issues is staggering. However, Sikhs also need to take action and unify. The list of issues is long... Who can speak for Sikhs collectively in western countries? What's Sikh foreign policy? Who's in charge of it? Where's the UN recognition? Where are the facebook/ twitter and other social media campaigns? Where are the demonstrations? What are the so called Gurdwara masand's doing? Akal Takht Jathedar, Giani Gurbachan Singh is a weak, ineffective leader that lacks vision. Unfortunately, (it pains me to say) he has only succeeded in damaging the authority of the Akal Takht through indecisiveness and inaction.
  22. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The jokes are part of the campaign to de-humanize Sikhs, they are very deliberate and began in India after the Sikh genocide of 1984. The jokes pre-dominate in specific hindu communities (and associated media) known for their extremist views, unfortunately, the racism is now spreading world-wide. 'Santa Banta' jokes surreptitiously refer to Shaheed Satwant Singh and Shaheed Beant Singh (who the sangat is encouraged to research and remember).
  23. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh These are the men the world has conveniently forgotten... Good work, Waljinder Bhaji.
  24. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Basic's of Sikhi, Bhaji, is Live on Sikh Channel now! with more superb prachar.
  25. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh A number of lawyers have been contacted and legal advice has suggested that Gurdwara's carrying out inter-faith marriages are at risk of litigation. Would advise anyone that feels they have been misled by Gurdwara Masands, to seek appropriate legal advice.
