  1. Its true..... sikhs have been portrayed as anti muslims just coz there was tyrant muslim raj during guruji's time.....so its more coz in our history all the bad names we heard were muslim.....but we shuould always remember that the foundation stone of Harmandir sahib was layed down by Sai Mian Mir.....a muslim..... so its never clash of religions with islam..... we have to fight against injustice and evil, be it muslim, hindu, christian or our fellow sikh........ bhul chuk maaf karni.....
  2. LOL....well another intresting thing about khadoor sahib is that they are celebrating 500 yrs of GURU ANGAD DEVJI... my parents were there couple of days back and they were told that the whole event would be shown at their website www.khadursahib.com frm April 14th. I did checked out the site but culdnt find a link to the event.... :umm: .....maybe they will add on sometime later....... i'll confirm it and let u ppl know who might be intrested in watching the celebrations....... Deg Teg Fateh!
  3. Waheguruji Ka Khalsa! Waheguruji Ki Fateh!! "Kaur@guruji's feet" said the right thing..... Its the respect that matters and we dont have to tell each other how much respect we have for each other.... we know that a fellow sikh has utmost respect for their brethern............We all are guruji's kids.....and i guess we could simply call each other by their name with "JI" or preferrably reffring each other "khalsaji"...coz thats what we are trying to be and thats motive of each one of us......... bhul chuk maaf karni......
  4. I cant agree more....... he was a sikh by name not by heart.....so loosing him to some other religion should not be something to be discussed about....... if he was misguided he should have asked fellow sikhs....but he chose to go his own way and accept islam.....let him be a good muslim now...... but i dont think he could be....... he was born n raised in sikh family and culdnt know about it then how can he know about other religion fully in matter of days...... he will go on and adopt some other religion after few days and then maybe other........ ppl look for those aspects in religion tht appeal to them most and comforts them....... they want everything easier way.......... but attaing HIM is not an easy task to do...... all religions are different paths for same destination........i personally feel he was not really into religion...he was more of attention craving fella........ watever is the case...lets pray for him..... and for all........ GURUJI sabb nu matt bakshan.......we r luckier then him to have an iota of it.....he seems to be running out of it at present....... so lets not waste our precious time in knowing y he did tht and wat we could do to get him back....... we want quality in sikhs not quantity......... remember we r "SAWA LAAKHS" of our beloved GURU GOBIND SINGHJI....... .... rochak u dont need to feel bad or shed tears for someone like him....... he is not worthy enough for tears of person like you........ i would rather say tht i wuld not mind loosing hundereds of sikhs like him to get one true sikh like you..... ......... bhul chuk maaf karni....... deg teg fateh!!!
  5. SGPC would be the last place i wuld got for taking amrit........ they call themselves the representative heads of all sikhs...... but no offense, most of them seem crooks to me..... they are no less than old days masands, controlling the gurudwaras....... distorting sikhi according to their likings(i.e handful of ppl managing it)....... there is no sarbat khalsa anymore at akal thakht....its more of politics.......and the law of nature goes...we get wat we sow......i'm against eating meat and sgpc preaches it openly...... a guy i knew pulled out meat while hanging out his kirpan.....it was offensive to me........ i'm not here to start tht discussion.....but we as sikhs should not follow a particular organisation...... pick the best frm everyone....... DEG TEG FATEH!
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki fateh! The topic discussed is really sensitive one and surely pertains to our future as a religion....but i'll like to ask one question......weren't there any muslim missionaries at times of our reverred gurujis? and ages after that....... but we managed to pull through all that with HIS grace......similarly it does hurt to see fellow sikhs going for conversions.... but we should ask ourselves if those ppl care less for their religion should we be concerned about them.....we should rather have quality than quaantity........a singh/kaur is not a sikh by name but by virtues.........i personally feel those ppl who go for conversions are non believers born to sikh parents and if they cant do any good to us they cant to other religions also....so lets not be concerned about them.......but also i'll like to add in tht we should not stop right there......its our duty to teach our siblings the right path........if they r worthy enough for GURU's grace they'll follow it....... those all things r [olitics..... so lets not embroil ourselves into it....... we know our path and should keep moving ahead........ everything that happens is by HIS own grace and we are mere fools to understand it........ a sikh should not be troubled by such things...... if we can see it so can GURU, and only HE knows why it is happening........so lets pray for ourselves and for those misguided souls.......... I wish to ask for forgiveness if I ofended anyone unintentionally...... DEG TEG FATEH!
  7. Waheguruji Ka Khalsa! Waheguruji Ki Fateh!! Thanx for ur support everyone.......i just pray to guru to keep me close to him and give me power to propogate sikhi to my fellow sikhs...... Deg Teg Fateh!
  8. That was absolute truth...... and i personally feels the cause of this all is our preoccupation with worldly affairs than our religion......Sikhs have had distinct identity.....our Fathe Guruji gave it to us and we should keep it intact under all circumstances........this is my personal experience........I came to US to study last year.....post sept.11 things changed......it was hard to get into social life and secure a job for sustainence....most of my frends cut their hair.......i preferred sticking to my guru's word.......though late but i too got a job........but being alone sikh with turban in the whole county in south is real hard.........my point here is that we loose our heart very easily.....if same thing was done by all those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for sikhi......we would not have been here........and if want our future generations to be true sikhs...we here have to take on the responsibilty to set an example to them.......not by cutting our hair and wearing a khanda in neck or on backscreen of our cars.......but by honouring the order of true guru........
