it's not the cristian calendar. it doesnot mean that if christians use it, then credits goto them. well, it's solar calendar. and our very gurus, were great scholars too. guru nanak dev ji has stated everything about how the world started etc and explains everthing. and these things are proven today. so, we follow the NATURE's way to celebrate new year not the christian way. well, vaisakhi day is also celebrated as new year by us, << that's a new question!! (i have the answer but want sangat to reply)
