Dhan waheguru ji! your post has just made me feel like -waah!!! i'm going to do that tooo! Thank you so much veer ji for your inspiration, theres no better cure than naam by the way, i've got a really good feeling that your methods going to work and pen ji will have beautifully clear skin, do you think so too ? Pen ji, i heard that putting lemon juice on your face works as a remedie for dark patches???
  3. Thank you to both of you! May waheguru ji bless you... both saakiya are amazing :D exactly the type of things i'm looking for! you guys should read this too- The first time that Baba Nand singh did darshan of satguru nanak from Sri guru granth sahib jee, Baba Jawand singh jee ( rajajansee wale) were also present with Baba jee. They both made a promise that until Satguru Nanak Dev Jee Does not give darshan by becoming pargat from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and eat the parshaada they had prepared for them, they would not eat anything. This event took place at the Saraghari Gurdwara Sahib. In this manner , for 6 long days they did not eat anything, but prepared parshaada for satguru everyday by doing continuous ardaas at the lotus charan of satguru jee. In such situation , they were on the verge of death , but both mahapursh did not give up , remembering Bhagat Ravidaas Jee's Bachan ' Ehu Janam Tumaare Lekhe.' Finally Parkash came from Satguru granth sahib and Sri guru nanak dev jee Gave their darshan to both mahapursh. Baba jee offered satguru jee their parshaada and guru sahib ate their food with much happiness and blessed both mahapursh. 1st guru sahib said to Baba jawand singh jee, ask for anything you want. Baba jawand singh ji replied 'whenever i do keertan, please bless me with your partakh darshan satguru jee!' Guru sahib Said ok, you will definatley get my darshan , but even those who even listen to your keertan , even they will get darshan. After Baba Jawand Singh jee had asked, it was Baba Nand Singh Jee's turn. Guru sahib asked them, what do you want? Very humbly, Baba ji replied, " Sache Paatshah ! i don't even know how to ask from you " ( Daas nu mangna nahee aunda!") Guru Sahib Jee said; Bhai Nand Singh, you must ask for something. Baba jee said - Just do one thing, make me yours! I dont need anything else.' These were the bachans of Baba ji proving their absolute Piar, Prem, Bhaavna for Guru sahib. When Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji walked up to Baba Nand Singh Ji and hugged them and said, '' You said you didn't know how to ask for something, but you have just asked for everything'' 'Je tu mera hoe, taa sabh jag tera hoe' If you are mine, then the whole world will be yours... Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev jee Dhan Baba Nand singh jee Dhan Baba Jawand singh Jee gur peeraa(n) kee chaakaree mehaa(n) kararree sukh saar => To work for the Guru, or a spiritual teacher, is terribly difficult, but it brings the most excellent peace. dhan waheguru ji
  4. thank you for the pdf file i just looked through the content and i was like OMG :D :D BUT i'm still currently trying to finish reading through one of Bhai Sahib Bhai veer singh ji's books,,, i've nearly finished the first volume and still need to read the second! So i waas hoping that if any gursikhs like you have read through these amazing books could share some saakiyan about sant/mahapurshs that you remember... (basically shared reading LOL ) ;-) Very true, i agree with you veer, like the basics of sikhi guy says that if you follow humans your bound to find mistakes and your sharda may break so if you follow waheguru ji he is perfect = no disappointments. But i enjoy reading/listening/knowing about sant maharpursh because i've always felt that saakhiyan of sant/mahapurshs usually stick in my head and act as a reminder through my life.
  5. I agree veer ji, its like they say, what you think/whats in your mind has an affect on your actions so why can't our actions have an affect on our mind.... Having a clean environment really does help, i.e. when I use to have exams, the first thing I use to do was clean my room so I felt relaxed and fresh! So SinghGS veer ji, I really think you should do an Ardas and just chuck all this trouble and pain out your life, like I've suggested before if you have to use your PC for work reasons put safety locks on there, like they have in schools so you can't access the stuff ! Also, this is a 50-50 possibility action, if you really can't control yourself, just do it, look at everything you want to and then because you've experienced that amrit vela, that blissful peace and the kirpa of guru ji, you'll yourself realise that actually its not worth it - it'll feel like a waste of time.... I've tried this, for example when I keep thinking about the same thing again and again, my head eventually starts hurting, I then begin telling myself that i'm not going to think about it but typically the mind will begin thinking about it even more, at the end i'll just give up and think about it as much as I can.... soon my mind realises its not worth it and I stop thinking about it ^^ I hope this didn't confuse you! I keep reading it myself and getting confused .. I think I keep thinking about it for no reason LOL
  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh! Sangat ji, I've always wanted to know as much as I can about the sant mahapursh In our Sikh faith, as Sant Baba Nand Singh say that if we can't do sangat of a sant, we should at least read/research about, This is just as fruitful ! however I've never really managed to read through so many books so I was hoping that if you guys could post any information you know about any sant mahapursh and their jeevan/teachings... it would be beneficial to us all bhul chuk maaf karni Dhanvaad ji :waheguru:
  7. uncle jiiiii! haven't you managed to make a Jodi yet ?

    Gatra

designer gatra :excited: I want one tooooooo! I think you'd probably have to sew a long strip and then make a little slot...
  9. hahah, that made me laugh! But a good idea though Dhan waheguru ji! Beautiful, if we keep these kurbaniya in mind we could sail through kalyug That's true, we usually waste most of our time thinking badly, BUT hey you don't have to think of it in a negative way, be happy thinking "wahoo I didn't give into the bad thought" :D An idea just popped into my head, do this, every time you think of something bad make a note of and then underneath write a little thank you to baba ji, in other words what you'll end up doing is adding positivity to negativity – even in bad you'll be doing good which will be saying thank you to waheguru ji! By thanking waheguru ji you’ll feel positive about yourself too- you’ll feel like you've achieved something with the grace of God. However please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, I am NOT justifying bad thinking, what I’m trying to say is that slowly slowly try exchanging bad thoughts with good. You’ll eventually begin to control your mind from thinking bad by thanking Maharaj ji. Fir maharaj ji nu appi tuhadi raakhi(protection) karni peni a :respect: from all bad as you’ve followed his teaching of ‘Je sukh deh ta tujhe aradhi dukh bhi tujhai dhai’ – thanking waheguru ji in both times of good and bad! Actually, talking about this reminds me of the saakhi of Bhai Bhoomia ji who believed that the influences of Bad deeds could be washed away by good deeds- Bhai Bhoomia ji was a rich robber who declared that every peer/fakhir/saint who came into the village must come rest and have food at his house. :nono: Nobody else in the village was allowed to serve them, the people in this village were very upset as Bhai bhoomia ji did not only loot their houses but their opportunity to do good deeds. So when Guru Nanak Dev ji went to this village, Guru ji refused to rest or eat at Bhai Bhoomia jis house. Bhai Bhoomia ji was very confused and went to Guru ji to ask why? Guru ji smiled and asked him about his profession. Although Bhai Bhoomia ji was worried thinking about what to say, he didn't lie and told Guru ji the truth, that he loots people in the day and commits burglaries at night. He also tried to justify it by saying that although my profession is bad, i use the money for a good cause - running a free kitchen for holy people. Even though Guru ji disagreed with what Bhai Bhoomia ji’s profession, his truth telling impressed Guru ji. Guru ji was merciful and explained that good fruits cannot come from bad seeds.... (The saakhi goes on… but ill have to put a pause here as I’ve explained my point  ) Just remember we don’t want to make the same mistake like Bhai Bhoomia ji and do good just to cover up our bad doing/thinking. We want to do good so that we have fruit (happiness/peace) from it. Don’t try covering up or making excuses for yourself, just admit that what your thinking was and at the same time thank Guru ji that he gave you the strength to not give in. I remember hearing bachan from Mahapursh, they said that ‘if your mind leaves you with no choice and doesn’t stop thinking bad, the least you can do is make the right choice by not giving it the weapons to carry out the bad thinking. I.e. the weapon being your hands to steal or eyes to look at bad etc :biggrin2: Also another thing, always remind yourself that the worldly pleasure will only make you feel good for a few minutes or just for that moment and later on it'll just feel like a waste where as the path of our beloved Guru ji will make us feel peace now and forever! Its like at that moemnt doing teh wordlything seems to be the funnest/best option but later as so on as that phase of a few minutes/hours pass you'll yourself think back and say 'it wasn't all that, i'm better off without it..' :waheguru: I know i've gone on abit in this post but i still hope it helps you, bhul chuk maaf ji
  10. thank you also do you have any tips for making sure your keeping consistency in your speed, because i think that may be my problem for not matching the tabla, maybe? or any other tips for making your kirtan better!
  11. hahahha ! you make me laugh! but yeah! I went to watch it straight away! Lets just say, I've never seen anything so beautiful and heart touching in my life before! AND to know its all TRUE! LOVED EVERY BIT<3 dhan Guru, Dhan teri sikhi!
  12. omg! i'm having the same problem lol pen ji :D, I knew you'd have a solution! haha, I was trying to find a solo recording of the genuine table beat for normal shabads (without raag) Also I was wondering if anyone has any tips for making sure your keeping a consistency in your speed whilst singing a shabad? Thank you
  13. I agree with khalsa 1469!! we need to make sure Punjabi stays alive! I'm born and bred out of India and I can read write and speak Punjabi confidently ! if I can do it anyone can :D
  14. good idea! but to be honest i'm thinking of gradually building up because I've noticed if i'm doing too much, i usually say most of it wrong and just rush (may waheguru ji forgive me) but because your part of the sangat and you've suggested that i'll add on one maala (at least) of simran on to my routine and if waheguru ji does kirpa i can add on more simran! Thank you
  15. I want to do it all in 40 days but I find it quite difficult getting 4 maalas done! also I noticed that 40 x 108 maalas for 40 days =172800 so far I've set an aim to motivate myself that 4 maalas of 108 beads for 300 days = 129600 im such a moorak that instaed of benefiting and getting 'laaha' from doing naam simran trying to get short cuts and running away from it :stupidme: may waheguru ji forgive me
  16. lol i don't know why but i was so scared to ask you, but anyhow thank you
  17. just out of interest 4 maala of 108 beads for 400 days = 125000 veer ji will that be okay too, or does it just have to be done in a certain time span ?
  18. Do ardas and ask for forgiveness! Always remember that waheguru ji is benevolent, he doesn’t judge you based on your past sins. What’s happened has happened, what waheguru ji is interested in is what you do next! However don’t misinterpret what I’m saying and think that okay, you also need to bare in mind that a mistake done by mistake is forgivable but when you make mistakes knowing that you are doing wrong that is paap meaning you will probably have to suffer consequences. Why don’t you put some sort of safety lock on your Internet like they have at school so anything that contains such content will not be allowed? That should hopefully help solve that issue! We can never respect Guru ji enough, you may be thinking that you don’t respect Guru ji but the fact that you’ve thought and mentioned it shows that you do! Everything springs off from the seed of thought, if you think good things you will do good things. Remember Guru ji is always with you so when you think about doing something consider what Guru ji will feel like whilst sitting next you or standing by your side! :waheguru:
  19. You reminded me of a sakhi about Baba Harnaam singh ji, Baba ji use to do a lot of path apart from Jaap sahib because they use to find it a bit difficult to do by heart! Every day Baba ji use to do Ardas to have dharshan of Sache paatshah Guru Gobind Singh ji. So one day when they were doing bhagti in their hut, a shaheed singh came and knocked on their door telling that Guru Gobind Singh ji has come to see them. Baba ji got very happy as from a distance they saw Guru sahib on a horse riding toward the hut. Guru Sahib came to the hut and looked at Baba ji and then went away. Baba Harnaam Singh ji was in tears. The shaheed Singh asked Baba ji 'why are not crying, Guru ji has fulfilled your ardas and given you darshan' Baba ji replied ' I have been longing for this moment for so long but whenever I imagined it to happened I thought about Guru Sahib doing Bachan with me. My Guru has come and not even said one word to me!" The Shaheed singh saw baba ji and said that he'd go and ask why. After a while the shaheed singh came back and told baba ji "Guru ji said he didn't speak to you because you do not do the full nitnem. as you miss out Jaap sahib" From that day on Baba ji did his full nitnem including jaap sahib alongside his extra naam simran. I hope this motivates you and shows you that every baani in the nitnem is essential hence that why its called nit- everyday, nem- routine. Also always remember you will only be rewarded according to what you've earned so if you haven't done your full nitnem you won't get the full reward! so come on veerey you can do it!
  20. HAPPY BANDI CHOR DIVAS! :khalsa: may Guru ji free us from bandans such as moh maya haumai and hankaar ! :onfire: be careful of fireworks and have a nice day pyari saadh sangat ji
