  1. This may explain to you why these experiences occur.
  2. I will find the quotes and put them on here. Perhaps the translation was not understood by me. I will look for them yThough.
  3. Would Guru Angad Dev ji still be our Guru, If he was performing durga puja? He woulH be Icoming back In search of the true Guru In the next life. Do have a glass or two of water for headaches.
  4. The Gurus have been chosen by God to be our teachers. God has ordained them and put the seal in their foreheads that they will be able to do all the kamayi they have achieved. We are supposed to follow in their footsteps. Everyone who is able to pray or do anything else is because God has given them the ability to do so. He has written everything beforehand. we are just experiencing it. Read the SGGS regularly and the veil of darkness will be slowly be lifted off. The same message over and over again- how to escape death ? The Gurus did it, the bhagats did it- they escaped death. They are there to guide us how to do it. God himself was engaged in bhagti for a number of yugs. Then he put maya under him.
  5. You have yo think In terms of spirits, not physical bodies. They have past lives but they are above janam and maran. They cannot come In juun like us.
  6. Any time I pass a desi on the road and he is on the phone, I hear no less than 10 swears in that quarter of a minute. People think its cool. If only they knew... if only they could see that you attract powers to yourself with that speech. If you say waheguru, bhala hoega, janam kateya jaega. All this swearing makes them even more dhukhi, hence resulting in even more swearing- a never ending cycle.
  7. Any normal person who wants to achieve mukti and become one with God will have to come and perform tapasya on this earth. In fact they would have to take birth 7 times to achieve the perfect state. Vich duniya sev kamaiye ta darge besan paiye. It is most likely that all the Guru jis were doing their kamayi parallel to the time that we were probably lost in our churasi juun. By some good karma which is darshan of our Guruji in any of their previous births, we have become sikhs as well. Hum rulte phirte koi baat na puchta. Gur satgur ki reh hum thape... ( not sure how this line goes exactly) We are all moving ahead in time. Vin karma kich paiye nahi. Our Guru jis have performed tapasya and have shared it with us. Some have told us about their past lives, some remain hidden by the hukam of God. I wonder how much divine knowledge written by Guru ji got lost in the sarsa nadhi. Bhai Gurdas Ji dhiya vaara even refer to the past life of Guru Nanak Dev ji. We have to remember that earthly forms are different to heavenly forms. Just as you at home wear a different dress and behave differently to when you are at school or at work. .. God too is different in heaven, different on earth. People at school may call you another name and you have a different name at home. Its the same with God. You are the same person at home as at school and your duties name and dress differ. So are all divine beings. They are different on earth and different in heaven.
  8. Here are all the facts and statements arguing for and against raag mala. Make your own conclusion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragmala
  9. You have had that state many times. When you have been coming and going in all the different births and all the deaths. It is God who makes us forget it and we can engaged in moh maya. This state seems alien to us then. However in our end days we will face the truth once again. It is like engaging in a film watching activity. When the cinema closes or your ticket for that particular film expires you need to face the truth and go back to your home. If you know what going back home is going to feel like, then you will be mentally prepared. if you have taken the time to plan your journey properly because you know there will be many dangers in the night, you will find it easier. If you have not planned properly then you will get a misfortune and get caught up in some disaster. This applies to our life. If we do not forget why we came here - aaeeyo sunan paran ko bani, then we will have an easy time going back. If we forgot to plan our journey back, then firstly we will be shocked when our life ends and will not want to leave our body. This is the state to which Gurbani says that the jam will come and pull our hair and beat us hard. This happens to people who are in denial of going back for judgement. They have to be fotrced to go back. However the Gurmukh has been preparing for this journey back home. Some will be informed of their time to leave the world. They will be received by Guru Ji, shaheed singhs or by angels. They will be taken back to their home with great respect. Mane pat siu pargat jae. Mane marag thaak na paye. There will no obstacles on their way. Guru Ji will come to save them. Even the sins which have not been destroyed by Naam simran will get neutralised by Guru Kirpa. People who regularly engage in simran are able to see into these states. This is however all the wish of the Almighty how much he decides to reveal to anyone. All we can do is stay in hukam and do as much naam jap because that is the only thing that will go will us and save us in the end.
  10. It would be more beneficial for you to listen to shabads if you plan to get closer to God. The message from those songs in anti-gurmat - you dont want to feed your soul on ---- aj mae pini yaaa. You gain more by listening to Amrit peeevio sadha chir jeevo. Listen to sachi bani and amrit bani. The Gurus never wrote any songs for us to listen to... they gave us bani... listen to shabads as much as you can. check out an earlier discussion
  11. All of Guru Granth sahib is dhur ki bani. Its from God. All the Gurus had the one jot of Akaal purakh. They all give the same message. The bhagats all give the same message too. Guru Arjun Dev Ji has sorted out the bani and all is sachi bani. There is no kachi bani in the Guru Granth sahib.
  12. Here is a soothing shabad which tells us that we are responsible for all these things which bind us down. We need to let go and become like an innocent child. We need to stop using our man mat to judge things. Question

When I was in school, I used to sit silently in the class and recite mool mantra to myself. I would recite it while walking to and fro school. I would do it any time I remembered too. I still try to.... however there are lots more distractions. Feeling sleepy all the time can sometimes be due to a lack of vitamin D. Everyone needs some sort of supplements these days esp. in the winter. Everyone in our family was vitamin D deficient. Aim for a balanced diet of fruits, nuts etc. Eating light at night helps reduce the heavy kind of sleep.
  14. Part of a person who is ready for amrit also does not care about approval from others. SGGS Ang 215 Maan apmaan dhou samane. Their mind does not bent either to praise or dispraise. Mān abẖimān ḏo▫ū samāne masṯak dār gur pāgi▫o. 15. Gurbani says do not be proud of good looks. They do not last for a lifetime. You have them just for maybe 20 years, so what comes after that? Your body may last for 60, if you are lucky 70, 80, or 100. After that? We will all go to be judged. Always remember that coz thats the most important.

    .

Is there a way you can consider a marker for ticking and recoding which banis you have managed during the day, week etc. A buddy system where you can be matched with someone who has similar goals. eg I want to try sukhmani sahib path everyday... so if my buddy does it- and sends me a msg, I will be more motivated to try it.

I saw Go Sikh on a number plate and I thought it was so cool. You might choose to use that. I personally love polls and blogs. Polls that summarise the votes in real time.
  18. Idealy I think he might not be dating because it does not have much meaning for an amritdhari. An amritdhari takes amrit in order to become closer to Guru ji and the all divine Waheguru. Technically if he falls back in his old ways he might not be regarded as amritdhari. People are allowed to change. Depending on the way he carries himself he might encourage both boys and girls to become amritdhari or he might turn the other way. Only time can tell. Sometimes we do underestimate people. He might be a better Sikh than all the rest of us. Talking to the opposite gender does not necessarily mean that something evil is going on, as assumed. It takes strong willed and full of character person to make the decision he has taken. I mean it both before and after amrit. He could be simply be an outgoing person whose company people do enjoy. One of my nephews is similar to him.
  19. I think being able to delete profiles is a waste of effort and time too. why would you write something only to come back to delete it? Sometimes you want to go back to your record or someone else who wants to give you some advice would like to check your older posts. A lot of info is available which can help the advisor advise you better. Older posts help people to understand posters better too. We are after all humans interacting with humans. People do want to know whether it is a school kid, working person or an older person who is saying what they say. I strongly disagree with deleting of posts and profiles. One irritating person was deleting and posting and deleting again. I would say I found that very irritating and I stop reading or posting anything for that person.

    Schoolwork

What happens to people after taking amrit is they sometimes fall out of the routine of doing path. This happens when your own routine changes for some reason. This may be starting uni, changing school, visitors which stay over for some time, outside pressures like exams; getting married, other people's expectations of you, etc. When you are younger you do not have an experience of many things. It is good to wait until you are more mentally mature and you can keep up your routine without breaking it. Sometimes when you take amrit, then you feel you have achieved a certain goal. This makes you a little more complacent. So its better to be In the disciplining section of time so that the path and bani habits become engrained deeper in you. This way you will be able to stick to your path routine better when you are older too. Trust maharaj ji and know that he has planned and given everyone a time when he will deliver them. What he wishes comes to happen and no one can raise an eyelid when the blessings come straight from Maharaj Ji. So stick to your routine and increase your sikhi knowledge too. A Sikh does not renounce the world, but performs all the worldly duties as well as performing simran most of the time or whenever they can manage to. Keep your time for school work and simran too. Concentrate on the right thing at the right time. As a Sikh lady you will have the duty to look after a family in the future, whom you will have to support too. Therefore you need your goog education to get a job too. A good sikh is supposed to do their own kirat and earn. The line you choose in the future will require your good education too even if it is something sikhi related too. Your parents have been through all these things and cannot explain them to you. You need to experience them to understand better. So keep respecting and obeying them too.
