  1. That’s irrelevant to the point.. I was merely pointing out the flaw in your analogy. I take it you don't live in the UK? Or more specifically England
  2. Err no.. It's like saying you are English because you were born in England ?
  3. Your judgement is clouded.. The sarai is managed by the archaeological survey of India.. Sikh shrines by law come under the protection of SGPC.. You can't blame the federal government for the neglect.. In fact if the structures were under asi control it is very likely that they would have been looked after much better.. Banda singh Bahadur didn't blow up all their buildings.. He was in a specific fight with Mughal agents of sirhind.. Not against Muslims. In amritsar itself guru Hargobind built a masjid.. You also seem to have a ahistorical view. Sikhi came into existence at the same time as the arrival of babur who was a invader but his descendents were very much indian.. After the death of aurangzeb guru gobind singh ji had cordial relations with Bahadur Shah.. He had a dharmic issue with the governor of sirhind not all Muslims..
  4. Enlighten you to what? You appear to agree with me ?
  5. You have a slightly ignorant view of heritage preservation.. The sarai comes under the responsibility of the federal government whilst the palaces you mention do not.. If they did they would probably be looked after much better
  6. Are we all not of divine birth? You have a really simplistic idea of the beauty of sikhi ?
  7. You have a unhealthy and skewed understanding of history.. Sikh heritage is and has been destroyed by Sikhs! No one else can be blamed..
  8. Fair enough individuals may go through a personal transformation..
  9. People don't become sikh.. It's not a club
  10. Wrong he did not convert anyone because their was nothing to convert people to.. He illuminated peoples minds with the truth.. He didn't say any dharam is wrong he demonstrated that the way people practiced dharam was hollow if it was not practiced truthfully and had become ritualistic or ones behaviour was selfish
  11. This is ridiculous.. Guru nanak never sought to convert anyone.. The idea proselytising and evangelising to convert people is anathema to a sikh.. The fact that a sikh acts truthfully and behaves truthfully is enough to make people ask deeper questions.. Guru tegh Bahadur gave his life in opposition to the idea of conversion.. Have some shame
  12. Mool mantar tells me I only need to read one thing... 1
  13. From the things you write I'm pretty sure you don't understand it..
  14. Absolutely also there are no easy routes into India coupled by the fact India and China have ongoing issues about borders so it is very sensitive to both countries. Developing major roads and trade routes would also mean that troops could easily be deployed in times of tension.. Both countries have a tacit agreement not to do that as it may be seen as a act of aggression and escalate
  15. First of all you seem to have a very poor understanding of geo-politics.. Or what the Silk Road actually was.. It was actually a number of roads and a referred generically as a trade route.. The passage of the what was the silk road passed from China via Afghanistan through Iran and into Europe.. Indian trade routes variously fed into the routes like tributaries in to a river.. By the time amritsar was established as a major trading centre the Silk Road was being surpassed by sea routes and European traders who exported via the east India company .. Amritsar established itself as a major centre of commerce during the rule of maharaja ranjit singh.. Particularly as a centre of high quality shawls.
  16. I'm a proud liberal from the tradition of guru nanak ji
  17. Just getting darshan in chardi kala.. I think worrying about this kind of thing is a big distraction?
  18. Anyone with any sympathy for Stephen Yaxley lennon aka Tommy Robinson or the EDL needs their heads checked
  19. I agree kalyug is a time when we asked how much we actually believe and are challenged
  20. Kalyug will exist for as long as it does in your own heart
  21. How do you know that what is what all people of that faith think its a bit of a leap.. I know more Muslims who reject that approach than believe in it. Sikhi I think is totally aligned with human rights
