  1. sounds interesting I'll check the book out.
  2. can we suffer the sins of our ancestors? and can we save our descendants/ future generations how much is our karma tied to our families?
  3. i come from baba vadbagh singh jis family and have been to his dera sahib gurdwara in himachal pardesh. A lot of odd anti gurmat things happen there. theres a waterfall there where people go to cleanse themselves off from black magic and spells. the whole place was scattered with threads and beads and old clothes scattered everywhere which people leave there after going under the waterfall. these clothes and threads are apparently cursed and contain the evil spirit which they washed off so we had to dodge these items everywhere while walking. there were literally black threads scattered everywhere on the floor. the mountain that this waterfall comes from people go up there to leave the spirit which were clinging onto them . near this waterfall is a little gurdwara where this man smacks you with peacock feathers as you do matha tek. outside the actual gurdwara higher up in the mountain there were possessed women spinning there heads around super fast as some man was chanting things too them. didnt like the place, very spooky! i think baba ji fought against the afghans but then decided to retire and went up in the mountains where he helped possessed people.
  4. i see it as, us being a product of our past lives and karma. your battling the bad karma which you gathered in your previous life. I dont see it as life throwing things at me but me simply facing what i sowed in the past. tackle it with your faith and the remembrance of Waheguru. i see patterns in myself, everywhere i go and whoever i meet i see the same recurring pattern, its the same theme, same emotion its a continuation from the past.
  5. sometimes when you look back you realize its the times that you hated the most that strengthen your faith.
  6. do you know that massive business like the heart foundation, diabetes and cancer research organizations are actually sponsored by things like KFC, mcdonalds, mars bars, and massive beef production companies. how messed up is that! all these things like american heart heart association are a joke and are sponsored by the very things that make you unhealthy. dont trust any of these things they all messed up people living near pig slaughter houses are more likely to get cancer, its a fact, says a lot about the meat that you eat. look how strong and tough the punjabis of the past were, they did all the work by hand without the use of any machinery and tractors and all they ate was simply vegetarian food.
  7. yh just checked taimur wasnt related to gengis khan, but he liked to think that he was recreating the mongol empire.
  8. sad, weird, dinosaurs all sorts of names for us
  9. true, discipline is what makes you strong. it gives you this strong positive energy. if you can fight temptation whatever it may be then you are strong. discipline makes you strong in many ways. it helps you in your spiritual growth, in fact i think discipline is what you need to grow spiritually. its a good feeling too if you fall for every temptation then you are lazy and weak.
  10. men who sleep around starting in their teens all the way to their 40s i dont understand how they can have meaningless sex with random women for 2 decades, you would think after a few yrs of doing that you would want something more and meaningful if that makes sense. but no these days many continue right into their 40s and then look for something meaningful. having casual meaningless sex with random women all the way till their 40s do they not question it or feel empty .... strange
  11. with my cousins cases they were messing around, going out getting drunk, sleeping around and all the rest of it, once they turned 40 they decided they had their fun and wanted to get married. one married a girl from india half his age and the other married a woman same age as him. but either way both them are happy and so are their partners and they have kids still not how i would go about with it though lol
  12. its still on bbc iplayer if anyone wants to watch it
  13. true that, iv often thought about it that there really isn't anything that is authentic punjabi culture. Punjabi architecture, art, classical music nothing. yh there is literature most of which is written by punjabi muslims who were influenced by foreign culture. the little punjabi culture that we have is folk culture which was developed in the rural lands, things like dhadi music, tradition textiles like phulkari etc but thats about it really. kabadi is south indian even the word kabadi is tamil. it makes sense though, us punjabis were suppressed by foreign tyranny for 900 yrs, our people were slaves for nearly 900s yrs, they were not free and constantly living under fear, generation after generation. they were not able to express themselves, to create culture you need be free and able to express yourself. it explains why culture in rural punjab was aggressive. it would be interesting to know about alcohol consumption in punjab during the 900 yrs on invasion. punjabis were a depressed people living under constant fear, i wouldn't be surprised if alcohol was used as a get away during these dark times, this thing with alcohol could go back a very long time.
  14. i don't watch porn! where did i say i watch porn! and i don't remember laughing at anyone
  15. i wanted to get married by 25, my early 20s was a waste. i was really close to this punjabi girl in my late teens, we broke up, and it took me a long time to get over her, and that stopped me from looking into other relationships. after that all the drinking problems and the rest happened. its only when i turned 24 that i felt normal and stable but since then i haven't met anyone. waste of time really. o well im still in my 20s hopefully i will meet someone soon!
  16. i recently had a rishta, a singh who lives down our road knows a girl 3 yrs younger than me who wants to get married and she dont mind if the guy is a singh, so the singh approached my dad. i told my dad i will have a think about it! im 27 now and need to get married! but i rather find someone myself and get to know her ... a singhni from our area told my mum about a girl for me but my mum dont like that lady so she rejected it lol i turned 27 yrs old in Dec 2019 by the end of this yr i need to get something sorted... cant be too picky
  17. 2 of my cousins got married in their early 40s and had kids in their mid 40s it does look odd!

  19. corruption starts of at national level in india and then trickles down to state level and from state level it spreads into the towns and villages. Corruption is deeply routed in that country, in fact this exists in most 3rd world countries. corruption is part of the culture there, i think indians dont know how to run countries because they never ran a country for a 1000yrs. i think india is beyond repair, corruption is deeply embedded in the way of life there, its too late. didn't sonia gandhi have crazy amount of money stashed in foreign banks? that country has no hope.... its a shame because before the invasions india was a land of discovery, spiritual discussion and debate with its own unique culture. knocking your own people down is also another trait shared by most people from 3rd world countries. Blacks, pakis, somalis, hindus they all do it. not sure why this is. people from 3rd world countries seem to all have similar traits. i know a few black people and they all say how blacks bring other blacks down. pakis are the same. i think a lot of the indians here who came decades ago are maybe envious of the newer ones? indians decades ago worked harder, faced racism, poverty, they had to build communities themselves, i dunno ... west is the best place to live.
  20. According to that map border districts like batala, ferozpur, gurdaspur etc were muslim majority too yet they ended up in india. Might be something to do with gurdaspur being next to kashmir? So the indian politicians negotiated with the goreh.
  21. Men can catch it from women as well, sleep with the wrong girl and you can catch all sorts.
  22. Paintings from the the original baburnama (his dairy) this is what the original mughals looked like, these are some of the earliest mughal paintings, they look central asian with small eyes and patchy facial hair. later their looks obviously changed because they married rajput and persian women. later they married rajput and persian women and looked less central asian. painting of Shajahan he looks very southasian aurangzeb
  23. Babur was a descendant of taimur i think? who was a descendant of gengis khan taimur also invaded india from taimurs dairy, he writes about the hindus slaughtered. this is basically what our ancestors lived through for 900 yrs “they said that on the great day of battle these 100,000 prisoners could not be left with the baggage, and that it would be entirely opposed to the rules of war to set these idolaters and foes of Islam at liberty. “throughout the camp that every man who has infidel prisoners was to put them to death, and whoever neglected to do so should himself be executed and his property given to the informer. When this order became known to the ghazis of Islam, they drew their swords and put their prisoners to death. 100,000 infidels, impious idolaters, were on that day slain. Maulana Nasir-ud-din Umar, a counselor and a man of learning, who, in all his life had never killed a sparrow, now, in execution of my order, slew with his sword fifteen idolatrous Hindus, who were his captives“. “In a short space of time all the people in the [Delhi] fort were put to the sword, and in the course of one hour the heads of 10,000 infidels were cut off. The sword of Islam was washed in the blood of the infidels, and all the goods and effects, the treasure and the grain which for many a long year had been stored in the fort became the spoil of my soldiers. “They set fire to the houses and reduced them to ashes, and they razed the buildings and the fort to the ground….All these infidel Hindus were slain, their women and children, and their property and goods became the spoil of the victors. I proclaimed throughout the camp that every man who had infidel prisoners should put them to death, and whoever neglected to do so should himself be executed and his property given to the informer. When this order became known to the ghazis of Islam, they drew their swords and put their prisoners to death.”
