  1. I really feel we need more younger parchariks, in their 20s and 30s, doing parchar in English, not fancy English, but do parchaar in a way which so that young people can engage and connect. Pot-bellied gyanis from India aren't exactly drawing crowds into the gurdware now are they! They're Ok for the uncles/aunties, but not for younger people. To bring younger people in you need younger people doing the parchar.
  2. It was quite bad apparently. I knew a lady who said Black men broke into their house in Kenya, took the nalas out of her salwars and lenghas and tied her hands up with the nalas and all her families hands and robbed the entire house! The Black slaves they kept were also tied up with the nalas. She said it was the local Blacks who were anti-Indian and the policemen who did the robberies! She said every night atleast one house was broken into like that in her area. The same happened to the Gujjus. I tried keeping a straight face when she said all the nalas were taken out of her salwars and lenghas to tie their hands up! I hope I did! I'd imagine these experiences were quite traumatic!
  3. Sant Jarnail Singh ji wore White, sant Ishar Singh ji and so many others. I don't see any Christian influence on them whatsoever. Saffron symbolises martyrdom in Sikh tradition. Different colours symbolise different things. The only colour which is forbidden according to one of the rehitnamas is Red, if I remember correctly.
  4. Most sants wore White. I think it depends on the context. Within Sikhi its considered a pure colour. But culturally Indian women wear White when mourning, and I can see why.
  5. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking them down. If a Gurdwara or Sikhs were to be attacked, these lot would probably be one of the first ones there to defend and fight! Despite their lifestyle, their connection to Sikhi/Sikh is still there, and admirable, but obviously are very misguided. Remember when the riots were happening in the UK years ago? Started of as Black protests and then ended up being people breaking into shops and looting. They tried coming into Southall but were driven away. Rumours spread that they were coming to our town as well, and many guys sat outside the gurdwara all night, many of then being those type of moneh, including my cousin! Who gets up to "no good" If I had to pick between those moneh or the interfaith promoting and LGBT promoting "City Sikhs", without question I would pick them moneh! If a Gurdwara was under attack, the first one to call for an uber would be the city Sikhs and the rest of us pendus would be left behind wondering what's going on. "Hot young blood" is a great addition to any community, but it needs guidance and direction, otherwise they start directing it towards wrong things, which is what is happening. What is parchar like in Canada? Are there many young Canadian born parchariks or are they all uncles from India?
  6. Tattoos of Khandas and other Sikh related things is just wrong. I've got a cousin in Canada who has a tattoo of a historical Sikh figure on his arm, its just wrong. But how are you supposed to stop people? They don't practice Sikhi so it comes down to getting Sikh tattoos or wearing Sikh t-shirts. That is what it narrows down to for them. SGPC said they're going ban actors from wearing paghs and imitating Singhs, but has that actually happened? Nothing is ever put into action. Moneh in general should be banned from wearing paghs and carrying kirpans at anand karaj, that is just beadbi of dastar and kirpan.
  7. Quite a good documentary, especially the first episode which is about NDE and the last episode which is about reincarnation. Episode 3&4 are a bit odd. Their about ""mediums" people who give you information about your dead relative by communicating with them. Worth a watch if you have Netflix.
  8. I don't find this funny! its quite disturbing actually. They're trying to make zoophilia acceptable, some disturbing videos on Youtube.
  9. I've heard and read many of these cases, on this forum too. If you're religious and are getting married into a religious family, then make sure that you investigate and find out which "type" of Sikhi the other family are following. I've heard of many cases where Amridharis get married to people who come from families that follow cults like Radha Somais, and these cults then try to force you into their cult. The most recent one I've heard of is my mothers friends nephew, young amridhari guy, had a love marriage with a girl who comes from a radha soami family. A few months into the marriage and he hardly contacts his family now! My cousin who was a foji had a lucky escape! He was about to get married to a divorced Punjabi girl from India living in Southampton. And she asked him what our family believe in, and he said we believe in Guru Granth Sahib ji and the jaggas in our pind (I don't believe in that) and she said her family believe in the Bias wala baba/Radha soami, and that he has to start visiting the dera as well if they get married. He was desperate for a passport, lol, and said yes to her! Luckily they had some disagreements and she decided to ditch him and they never married. He had a lucky escape! It really opened my eye to how these dera/cult members work. Be aware of who marry, or date ...
  10. Yeah, its only yesterday I watched a old video of an Australian girl who was caught in a Satanic cult back in the 80s. She said they sacrifice humans and forced her to have s3x with animals. Her Nan was part of it.
  11. I wouldn't take his views very seriously. He has an obsession, it's in his head and it's eating him away, it's worrying actually, not healthy at all. Things like that can make you unwell. There does seem to be a rise in puratan Sikh culture among the youth in Punjab. Interest in horses, shastar etc which is great. Its quite similar among the Sikhs in the West, an interest in puratan Sikh culture. Yeah, gym, kabbaddi etc really should be encouraged. It'll keep that fight alive. Also distract them from wrong things. The government knows that it's rural Sikhs that rebel, that's why majority of the youth that were murdered back in the 80/90s were rural youth. The government knew exactly who they were targeting. They weren't just random killings. It's why I thought the fighting spirit was dead after everything that happened in 80/90s, but obviously it's not. Unfortunately I think we are heading towards some dark times, but I think people are better prepared this time. I think these recent protests are a huge wakeup call for them.
  12. Thanks for posting the lines. Yeah it seems satan is different to Kalyug. Quite interesting.
  13. I wasn't aware bani mentions satan, Where is satan mentioned ? Yeah, the definition of satan and Kalyug is pretty much the same. Satan is the emperor of this world, misleading people etc. When Kalyug appeared before Guru Nanak Dev ji, I think he offered Guru Sahib gold etc When Satan appeared before Jesus in the desert, if I remember correctly he offered Jesus wealth etc
  14. The next war that takes place, for equality, so women feel equal, can we have an army of 50% men and 50% women ? I'm all for equality, and it's only fair if the same number of women are sent to war to die as well. Preferably the feminists, as they want equality. When the next war is about to take place and mobs of angry feminists are protesting that 50% of the army should be women, I'll be protesting with them as a proud feminist.
  15. Yeah, they'll create slaves like this and victims to abuse.
  16. It's really sad isn't it. They're probably gnna raise human babies like that as well.
  17. I was surprised that they still has some fight in them, after watching videos of the recent protests. I had the impression that after the 80/90s that fighting spirit died. It's a good thing. I think a gym should open in every pind and wrestling/kabaddi should be encouraged. After seeing the videos of the protests, there is some hope, because unfortunately I think we're heading towards another very dark period under the Indian government. Its worrying. The future seems very uncertain, but they're gnna need that fight.
  18. It's really messed up right? I don't think God would want us to do this stuff. They're using the excuse that it's to help premature babies, but they're probably planning to do really messed up things. Kalyug and the biblical "Satan" is pretty much the same thing, but for some odd reason Christians think Satan Is an actual physical being in war with God. Sikhi gives a far better understanding of Kalyug/Satan. I don't know who Kalyugs wife is. The elite ruling the world? I feel sorry for the baby lambs, they're nothing but an experiment.
  19. I agree, forgetting your own language and adopting the language of the people that destroyed your country and enslaved your people, as your main language, is basically a continuation of the slavery and the raj, but the raj is in their head this time.
  20. I'm not amritdhari yet but how are you supposed to avoid products with alcohol in them? what about tooth paste? deodorant? cologne? mouth wash etc ? Cake and chocolate with alcohol in it tastes nice.
