  1. Well Hindus had a langar system but due to the caste system it was obviously limited. Guru Nanak ji made langar for all. But remember Hindus have ashrams where people donate food etc. It is a very old concept but it's been changed and altered a lot if times, but guru Nanak dev ji made it firm and solid.
  2. Langar is a dharmic concept and started with Hinduism.
  3. So why don't Sikh brides cover their heads? they normally have their buns covered but not their heads. whats the reason behind this? if i walked into gurdwara with my patka slipping and hanging of my bun i would probably get death stares, People would probably feel like tossing me out of the window. But why do Sikh brides get away with it? a few years back during the summer i wore a cap to the gurdwara, i soon had 5 singhs standing behind me not looking very amused. i was told to take it off and wear a ramal. why the double F,ing standards? heres a quick google search., Why were none of these women dragged out or told to cover their heads before guru granth sahib ji ? you can hardly call any of the below a head covering. The double standards are really starting to annoy me
  4. I remember this was posted everywhere on facebook, mostly by liberals, women and feminists, hardly surprising. I remember even a gujarati girl on my whatsapp posted this as her status.
  5. There's a difference between questioning/criticizing someones faith because you don't agree with it and, on the other hand there is deliberately trying to offend/hurt someone. I guess it depends on the persons intentions. its a touchy subject. The gurus were questioned and criticized for what they said and taught, but never did they fine or kill the individuals that did question Sikhi.
  6. well people are thrown into jails and fined around the world for questioning other peoples faiths so i was just wondering what Sikhs think of this. Yes its a odd question lol but this stuff is happening ...
  7. Asia bibi is a Pakistani Christian woman who was sent to jail for saying something like "what has the muslim prophet done for humanity" after the local paki women called jesus a b@st@rd, because he didn't know his father. The whole row started when she used water from the muslim well which angered the muslim ladies because a "filthy christian" used their well. she was jailed for 8 years.
  8. Can people criticise Sikhi? Recently some woman in Austria was fined and jailed for calling the muslim prophet a pedo. Now obviously different people will have different opinions on this, some will agree some won't. In European countries this is a very touchy subject and we now live in a politically correct culture where most people hesitate to voice their opinions in case they offend someone. With people being jailed for criticising religion, political correctness it makes you wonder if freedom of speech really exists. But what about sikhi, let's say khalistan was created, would the Hindus, Christians, dalits and whatever be allowed to criticise Sikhi? Would they be allowed to question the divinity of the gurus, guru granth sahib ji, miracles, sikh ithias, question and criticise the lives of the gurus and other sikh figures. Would they be allowed to give their own interpretation of guru granth sahib ji? If not, but one of them decides to, how would we deal with it? In most middle eastern countries you have you head chopped off for questioning Islam, what would happen in a sikh country? Not a trick question, just interested in knowing what others think of this ...
  9. Where do you watch these videos? Are they real suicide and beheading videos? Where do you watch them, is it online?
  10. I give money to the british sikh council monthly, they help the sikligar sikhs and other poor sikhs. I want to help poor sikhs in India, sikhs who have bad living conditions. But I also give money like 50p or £1 to homeless people I see in the high street. In future I also want to give money to animal organizations
  11. Just keep your hair the way it is. Nothing wrong with some treatment if you want but dont shave it off. When you meet the right girl she won't care if your bolding or not. Don't worry.
  12. But what about just talking to people who smoke and do that stuff? There's obviously a difference between being friends and then just talking... My dad drinks alcohol, eats meat, swears a lot etc but does that mean I should stop talking to him lol in fact majority of my family are like that.
  13. Think their from Karnataka they worship Shiva as the supreme God but reject the Vedas and other scriptures. They don't consider themselves Hindus and want the government to recognise them as lingayats. But the governments have made this into a political game and are messing around with it
  14. Well obviously sex and nudity is allowed in Sikhism how else are you supposed to make baby sikhs for the future. but by watching sex and nudity you are only filling up your mind with kaami thoughts, your feeding your mind with the wrong stuff. Actions first develop in the mind and then become physical acts. Guru ji has told us to do the opposite and clean our mind of such things. Go about 2 weeks or more without watching or listening to kaami stuff and instead meditate and you will experience a difference. Tv makes your mind foggy.
  15. The stickers look really good. That's what Nishan Sahibs looked like during the sikh empire.
  16. I don't know anything about him apart from that he's deported lots of mexicans and that he's cheated on his wife with pornstars
  17. Most tv dramas and series are full of sex and nudity, I try avoiding it actually. A few months back the guys at work told me to watch power on Netflix. I decided to watch and the 1st episode had sex and nudity. That filled my head with wrong thoughts and I ended up going to my room and doing the obvious HAHA ! But yeah I didn't watch any other episodes. Try avoiding that stuff tbh But documentaries are good to watch! It's good to know about history, nature, and what's happening in society. BBC I player does interesting mini documentaries about real life people and issues. I watched this series called sex drugs and murder on BBC I player. It's a documentary series about this red light district in Leeds. It's actually shocking and tragic what these poor women go through. Very eye opening. David Attenborough is gonna have a new series called dynasties starting looks real good!
  18. These ugly modern day militant feminists, the fat ones with multi colored hair, they should all be rounded up and shipped off to some island in the Pacific ocean
  19. Feminists are basically unwanted rejected women! I mean just look most of their faces. They then in return become militant man haters. These same feminists don't like beautiful happily married women with children and speak against the traditional family unit. Once again this is the result of them being rejected by men so in return they hate married women.
  20. I cant stand feminists. Most of them look unwashed and smelly anyway. What do you guys think of the S. L U T! walk in new York? 100s of feminist walk naked with phrases like slag, s3x, F me, painted on their breasts. I think it's something to do with female empowerment and equality
