  1. so beautiful. I love the last one especially
  2. It's great if rehat is encouraged, SOGGS, but rehat is based on love. Guru Jee says that love is the most important part of Sikhi - and only those who have LOVE will attain God. So hopefully, the kids are taught to do amrit vela and everything out of pyaar, being told the importance of rehat. This way, love will well up in the children themselves, and they will want to do such things. It's good if rehat is enforced, but it should be enforced with love - love is the basis of everything
  3. I hope this bhanji finds sangat! If any of you know Sikhs from Scotland - ask them about specific programs and sangats in Scotland
  4. does anyone else know how it is from experience?
  5. I think that because it's in the "sticky" section and also because it's under "sikh history", not all the members on this forum have seen the petition. Maybe you should ask the moderators to send a p/m to all of the members on this forum and tell them to sign the petition? Or get it sent through different Sikh yahoo groups - and also post it on other websites (www.akj.org, www.tapoban.org, www.gursikhijeevan.com, etc.)
  6. How can that be - if we were drug addicts and rapists and murderers, why would we be born into Sikh families and why would we be blessed with so much kirpa? Plus, what about the other millions of people in the world who actually do work hard, have an honest living, remember God, etc. Weren't those the teachings of Guru Nanak? To me, Sikhi is about love, not fear. I can't work on fear, it just brings me down rather than inspiring me to do simran or whatever.
  7. You should send this petition out in an email - or tell all the Sikh Sangat people to sign it - this is the first time I've even seen it... Create more awareness - send it to more people !!!
  8. If that's all true, then what's the point of trying? We probably wont make it anyways. That basically means that life is impossible and meaningless because we wont reach Sach Khand anyways, no matter how much love we feel inside. If Dasmesh Pita Jee is SOO SOO diyaalu and understanding and sweet, then WHY wouldn't he save his children from the hot winds and dukh of this world? WHY wouldn't he protect his children from the jamdhoots and Dharam Raj? WHY wouldn't he reward all of our efforts? What about all the times we tried to get rid of kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar? What about all the times we got ridiculed for keeping hair and having this Khalsa roop? What about all the times we tried to imb ue ourselves in Naam and Seva? Wouldn't Guru Jee have mercy on us and save us from this world? I know we shouldn't expect to be rewarded - but if we follow the Gursikh way of life, wouldn't Guru Jee watch over us and protect us from dukh? Wouldn't he want us to come back home to Sach Khand? Wouldn't he take us back home? :
  9. does she need sangat as in individual people? or sangat to attend? or a gurdwara, or what? is she moving there alone?
  10. Japmans veerji, please chill with the sarcasm. I agree with what "smart singh" was saying. The rest of the website is great. But it was just a bit misleading - the first 3 or 4 pictures that popped up were of girls with died and cut hair and skirts and stuff, I'm a girl so it didn't really bother me, but it doesn't really represent SIKHI properly.. I looked at all of those pictures, and every single girl I saw had cut hair. I'm not being judgemental, honestly, I'm just saying that there's more to Sikhi than simply attending these conferences or whatever - We need to live the Gursikhi Jeevan, and Singhnees especially need to be strong. It's a website dedicated to Sikhi, but you see pictures like that, and it's a little bit dissapointing. Otherwise, its all good.
  11. I know how you feel jee, we all miss him SOOO much, or at least I know I do. The video made me feel better though, for some reason. Like how at the end, he talks about how Singhs die everyday, and he also says something about how the death of a Khalsa is sundhar or beautiful. He knew this, and he knew that everyone has to leave at one point. The part that helped me the most was at the end when you see him bowing, and then it just fades, because it reminds me of the end of his life. It makes me feel like he did all that seva of teaching gatka, warming our hearts, and putting smiles on our faces, and then he bowed to Guru Jee and took his leave, going back home. It made me feel like "ok, it's fine, he's done his seva, and now he's probably up there, chilling with Guru Gobind Singh." If anyone has any more advice about dealing with this all, please post it
  12. we don't need to let go, Japmans. We need to carry their jot, and light that fire in our hearts, as well as in the hearts of other Sikhs, so that the Panth will become stronger, and it willll, it will . :umm:
  13. YEAHH everyone come come come!!!!! It's going to be awesome :umm:
  14. If love prevails, a Sikh women has already found Guru Nanak, the King of the Universe, and no one walks away from Guru Nanak empty-handed. When a person finds Guru Nanak, there is no more searching left to do - they have found purpose, meaning, and love. When a person finds Guru Nanak, they have found LIFE! They have found eternal beauty, they have found Waheguru. naanak ho pir bhaalee aapanaa sathigur naal dhikhaaliaa ||4|| O Nanak, I was searching for my Beloved; the True Guru has shown me that He has been with me all the time. ||4|| :umm: Guru Nanak pulled me up, out of the deep, dark pit, the intoxication of attachment. ||4||30||60|| Guru Nanak is the greatest of all; He saved my honor in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||4||10||57|| The glorious greatness of Guru Nanak is manifest, throughout all the ages. ||4||11|| :D What teachings can be imparted to those who have the Divine Guru Nanak as their Guru? ||1||

  17. waheguru babeeha amrit vela bolia tha dhar sunee pukaar meghey no furmaan hoa virso KIRPA DHAAR :e: waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru
  18. Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, who has demolished the fortress of doubt. O Creator, Cause of causes, Lord God of Nanak, I am saved and redeemed in the Society of the Saints. Those who follow the Guru's Teachings meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Filled with a joyful peace, they surrender to Your Will. Beautiful and sublime is the glory and the understanding of those who focus their consciousness on the Lord.
