my question... who elects this guyz onto the committee? for the committee to even THINK of havin that crud served at a gurdwara event is jes ridiculous... these people need to learn the first thing about sikhi if they're gonna be on the committee.. and there should be amritdhari gursikhs running the show.. and if these guyz ARE amritdhari... there's some serious issues there...

if i personally knew the person and the individual was close to me... i'd make him/her move into my house or stay with one'a their close friends for a lil while... and from there things can be done.. first things first, u gotta take them outta that environment IMMEDIATELY... that mental and physical damage done in a household like that has LONG lasting affects.. and in some cases are permanent... i would gladly take someone in if they were in a situation like that.. like one'a the above posts said, they shouldn't be placed in a non-sikh household, for it WILl damage them more... bhul chuk maaf.. well like another said above.. it depends if they're gursikh or into sikhi... most gursikh families that i know do paath together... i.e. rehras, nitnem etc... recently in our family we started doin some of that stuff together as well.. even though i haven't grown up in a gursikh household, we still try to help eachother out.... also, for families that have maharaj's parkash (Sree Guru Granth Sahib Jee) in their home, even doing hukamnama and sukhaasn dee seva together helps as well... help them help you and vice versa... growing up within a gursikh family, ur parents teach u things about sikhi as well such as sakhi's, meaning of gurbani, reading/writing gurmukhi etc... i'm sure there's much more that others can add in ... i know there's several people on this forum that have grown up in a gursikh household... bhul chuk maaf..... another reason why people might thing i's wrong to kiss the kirpan is because with this same mouth is where falsehood and slander come from.... as well as lustful speaking and all that other junk... i personally have never done it... i wouldn't want to risk disrespecting my kirpan... a touch to the forehead just makes my day.. :doh: Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fatehh..!!

Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fatehh...!! if we want to 'fix' sikhi... it should start at home... with ourselves, and our families... and then expand into our extended families and friends... there's one thing sitting here and saying that somethin should be done, but there's another to actually go out and do something... i agree that something should be done... but what?... i don't really know... there's many 'possible solutions' out there.. and if we can all come to ONE solution or a few solutions that we can all agree on, then that would also make things a lot easier..... but, like i've said b4 several times... we can't wait for things to happen.. we have to make things happen.. and i say WE as a PANTH... this isn't a one person effort.. there's not gonna be ONE person who leads us to victory... if some people don't think they themselves can make a difference.... do it in a group.. start a sikhi group or something.. i know where i live there's A LOT of punjabi families.. and i know it would help if a sikhi group for the youth was set up... somethin for the neighbourhood kids.. and that might get their parents involved... i love dealing with youth and talkin to them about sikhi... they afterall, are the future.... we can even join the SSA's at our local uni's and colleges... i know many SSA's don't even do much parchar of SIKHI itself, rather they do it of PUNJABI culture... which is contradictory to sikhi ... we should all find wayz to do as much parchar of sikhi as possible.. and this goes for myself too... i don't do nearly as much as i should... lets hope we can all unite and become GURSIKHS and ONE QAUM... i know there's many people out there that would LOVE to be invovled wit sikhi.. only if they knew about sikhi and what it stood for... if they only knew how beautiful Guru Jee is, the possibilities are endless.... they too, will become apart of the khalsa panth.... i got a question.... how does ANY of this effect anybody's sikhi?? i don't think it's disprespect if they showing a khanda... most punjabi people are born being told they are SIKH.. thats why they represent that khanda and so on... and who are we to say THEY ARE NOT SIKH???? if one WAS to say something to them... it should be in a respectful manner.. and they should be educated about what the khanda represents... once again.. this does not AFFECT ANYBODYZ sikhi... bhul chuk maaf....

200 a month is pretty good.. and think, thats only with the amrit sanchar ceremonies that are held with them.... there are NUMEROUS other amrit sanchar ceremonies goin on each and every month with probably several thousnd more sikhs taking amrit... that's wekked seva....
