  1. Evangelists in the Punjab. Holding fierce pride in their identity, Sikhs have for decades been seen as “off-limits” by the missionary machine but not anymore. In a alarming trend, evangelism has begun to tread on the Sikh faith as well. Every aspect of Punjabi society is being overwhelmed with this new wave of assertive Christianity. Besides nationwide programs in Hindi, Punjabi television channels have been deluged by Christian programs even though the Christian population of Punjab is less than 1%. Taking aim at Sikh youth, animated films and children’s books on Christianity are freely distributed by missionaries. Because of the strong adherence to tradition by Sikhs, missionaries have attempted to repackage Christianity. Jesus is called “Satguru”, church is referred to as “Satsang” and choir singing is called “Kirtan”. Choir boys in Punjabi churches wear turbans to attempt to minimize the variation between Sikhism and Christianity. However, despite these attempts to disguise Christianity as a version of Sikhism, missionaries still cannot hide their intent: to destroy the Sikh faith. While there have been some cases of genuine conversions, economically disadvantaged and illiterate Sikhs often complain that missionaries are using extortive practices such as bribing them with material possessions to change their religion. A young boy whose friends had converted to Christianity explained, "When I asked the boys as to why they have converted to Christianity, they said they had been given cash and free education. In our village alone, 5 to 6 people have converted and, of course, their generations to come would also be Christians." Gurbachan Singh Bachan, former Secretary of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and a proud Sikh, says "People who are converting from Hinduism and Sikhism to Christianity are those who have lost understanding of their own religion… Khalsa [sikh] institutions and the Government need to educate the people about the values of a religion, and tell them that all religions are equal and no religion teaches us to fight with each other." Such provocative evangelism in Punjab does not always go unnoticed by the local community. The Open Door Church run by Pastor Harbhajan Singh, a landlord who converted to Christianity from Sikhism, has aggressively converted over 2,800 members of the Khojewala village community. In February of 2004, Singh made derogatory remarks against several Sikh gurus including Guru Granth Sahib. This led to several protests by Sikh youths in front Singh’s church in the. The conflict was ultimately resolved by police intervention and an unconditional apology by Harbhajan Singh. Meanwhile, Christian media painted this incident as an example of “Christian persecution.” A recent study showed that at least 800,000 are converted to Christianity every year throughout India. In the coming years, this number can significantly increase with attacks on the Sikh faith. Below is a translation of a book published, by the missionary organization, Operation Mobilization (disguised as a Hindu group with the acronym OM). The passages below are a story of a man who is portrayed as a hero for rejecting his Sikh faith, cutting his hair and ultimately converting to Christianity. Chapter 3: Having long hair on head was the most important sign out of five signs for Sikhs in Punjab. He knotted his hair in a bun on his head. He was nothing without steel bangle, half pant, comb, and a small sword that provided his identity. His holy book ‘Granth’ had an instruction for him to never cut his hair, and like a devoted Sikh he never cut his hair. Though, his beautiful beard was very uncomfortable in summer and dusty environment. Without being cut, his long hair on head dignified him. A Sikh who had cut his hair was then not called a Sikh. He was boycotted from his religion, society, and family. Whatever Sundar did was seen as resistance of shock by his father, Sher Singh, and after that Sundar had seen such anger from him that he had never seen before. His father became very angry and kick him out of the house without hesitation, saying that he was now not a member of this family. He brought bad name to the family. He was removed from his Caste; he had no right to live in the courtyard of the Singh family. He had to go out immediately. Page 30: Sadhu Sundar Singh: …….ended that made his relative clearly angrier. The pressure coming from various sources undoubtedly could not mislead the internal determination of this 15 years old boy. But they could be sufficient to make the boy quite. But as far as Sundar was concerned, it had opposite effect. As he studied the work of good news and Christian converts, and read about that extraordinary messiah whom he had seen from his own eyes. How he endured pain with insult and how his pupils were really happy to be found qualified to bear insult for the sake of his name. Then, a desire also arose in Sundar to endure pain for messiah. One day, by a program that would separate him, he would not only show that he has attained youth but also fulfill the primary requirement of being Sikh. He could not participate in this program and he did not want to. He did not want to do this to deny his Caste or Clan. He wanted to deny Sikh religion. Even after his infatuation was broken when he was studying at a school in Ludhiana, he faced threatening calls, anger, and bad behaviour from his father and elders of the family. He knew that no one could erase the memory of that living God. It was that messiah that vouched for his sincerity and he also needed to do that. To make it clear to his family and to make them understand, he left Sikh religion for good; and that he has seen Jesus Christ and was determined to follow him. Article from AggressiveChristianity. Christians interrupt Sikh Funeral in the US, seek converts Posted March 4, 2004 San Jose, Feb. 29, 2004 The American GI Forum Hall was packed with hundreds of mourners as members of the huge Sikh community of the Bay Area gathered for the funeral service of Hari Singh and Satnam Singh, two of the three people, who were killed by a gunman in a high-profile attack the previous Sunday. Speaker after speaker came up to address the grieved for their lost loved ones and prayed for their families. However, members of Indian Christians United (ICU) took this advantage of the Sikh community in mourning as an opportunity to convert them. Brother Younis Masih and two other Punjabi converts walked on top the stage and announced they would be playing a gospel song. Younis then walked to his harmonium, one sat down with a tabla, and the third held a Bible. In the following minutes, the Christian converts inappropriately began singing to Christian songs, preaching the virtues of Christianity over Sikhism and read two passages from the Bible. Younis spoke in fluent Punjabi in an attempt to convert as many Sikhs as possible.

Sikh student jailed for stabbing of pregnant Muslim love rivalBy JAMES TOZER Last updated at 00:14 30 November 2007 Add to My Stories A student stabbed her secret lover's pregnant wife to death while in the grip of a terrible obsession with her innocent young rival. Mindy Sanghera, a 23-year-old Sikh, was destined for a high-flying dentistry career after a string of top exam grades when she fell in love with playboy businessman Sair Ali, a Muslim. But when she found out he had secretly gone through with an arranged marriage to his teenage cousin, Sana Ali, and that she was pregnant, she became consumed with jealousy and decided to eliminate the woman standing between them. Scroll down for more... Harmohinder Sanghera: Will have to serve at least 14 years of her life sentence After writing hysterical letters in which she questioned whether she was turning into "a psycho", she waited until Mr Ali was out at Friday prayers, went round to confront 17-year-old Sana, and stabbed her more than 40 times. In a horrifyingly brutal climax she then lifted the 11-weeks pregnant teenager's top and plunged the knife deep into her belly. Yesterday Sanghera was found guilty of murder and jailed for life with a minimum term of 14 years. The frenzied stabbing of a shy, innocent teenager while she carried an unborn child horrified millions, but detectives soon discovered she was the unwitting victim of an inter-religious love triangle that would scandalise two communities. Mr Ali, whose family live in a large, detached house on the outskirts of Bury, Greater Manchester, had been betrothed to Sana, his first cousin, since she was nine. Scroll down for more... Doomed marriage: Sair and his cousin Sana on their wedding day But while she received a traditional, Muslim upbringing in Pakistan, back in Britain her future husband, now 25, was enjoying himself, conducting secret affairs and frequenting nightclubs. Among his lovers was Harmohinder Kaur Sanghera, known as Mindy, a pretty Sikh student who had caught his eye after they were introduced by friends in 2005. She is the youngest daughter of a respected Punjabi couple living in a £400,000 house in Solihull in the West Midlands. Her father Gurnek is thought to be a manager for Royal Mail while her mother Satinder works at Marks & Spencer. Mindy was destined for a career in medicine after achieving straight As at King Edward the Sixth Grammar School. At the time of the killing she was approaching the end of a course at Birmingham University's School of Dentistry and had a posting lined up at one of the city's top practices. Scroll down for more... Devastated: Sana's mother Maryam Fatima and family She and Mr Ali, who ran his own mobile phone business, conducted their affair in £135-a-night rooms at a four-star hotel to keep it secret from their families. By last year she was besotted with him, saying she wanted to marry him and have children together. He told her they could never marry because his parents would never accept a Sikh daughter-in-law. Sanghera, however, was convinced her future lay with him, and talked of converting to Islam. Westernised and previously not particularly religious, she started to abstain from alcohol, began wearing a headscarf and eating halal food. With Sana about to turn 17, preparations were in hand for an elaborate wedding ceremony back in Pakistan, after which she joined her husband at the family home in Bury. Slight and shy, Sana rarely ventured outside, and friends said her only interests were cooking and cleaning. According to her mother, Maryam Fatima, she was lonely and disappointed in her new life with her Westernised husband, who stayed out late and had little in common with her. Mr Ali had failed to consummate the marriage on their wedding night, and he admitted he would take Viagra before having sex with her, but by the spring of this year it was announced that she was pregnant. It ought to have been the signal to his mistress that they had no future together, but by now she was beyond reason. Sanghera would light candle after candle when he was away, never letting the flame die out, demanded that he phone her and speak to her until she fell asleep, and wrote to him saying she wanted to be his "golden girl". At other times she would make abusive comments about Sana or demand to know whether they had had sex the night before. In one of her letters to him she wrote: "I think I am going crazy. I thought I could handle it and deal with cutting contact with you but I can't. "Maybe I am a psycho, crazy, or just a fool, or maybe all of thosethings." Rather than cut off contact altogether, Mr Ali agreed to keep seeing her until after her exams that summer, and they secretly entered a temporary Islamic marriage. Then finally, in the words of prosecutor Peter Wright QC, in her "jealousy and desperation" and frustration at her predicament, "she allowed all reason and good sense to desert her". They spoke by phone on the evening of Thursday, May 10, discussing going away together that weekend. The following day, with Mr Ali at mosque and his teenage brother at college, Sanghera drove to Bury. After duping the teenager to let her in, she went with Sana to the couple's bedroom, produced a six-and-a-half inch kitchen knife, and stabbed her 42 times. Before fleeing, she plunged the blade into her belly. The baby, a boy who was to have been named Abdul, would have been due last week. Sanghera then calmly spoke to Mr Ali on the phone before returning home, leaving his sister to discover the horrific scene. Sanghera admitted visiting Sana but claimed she had left her alive and well, and at her trial the defence suggested Mr Ali had killed her. She looked shocked as she was found guilty of murder at Manchester Crown Court, struggling to keep her composure and fighting back tears as the sentence was announced. In a statement to court, Sana's husband ? whose behaviour was branded "weak-willed and reprehensible" at the trial ? said he felt "indescribable" emptiness since her death. Sana's mother said the family had finally secured justice. "Sana will be happy today," said Mrs Fatima.

  9. What ever is mentioned abt Sri Ramchanderji abondoning his divine consort Sita ji and Sri Krishanji at the river ..we dont know how authetic it is ..if we go by Kavi Jaidev's writings ..he was good at erotic illustrious potrayal....the prob is with the Hindustani people ..they unfortunately are awakening now...they should have stood up then and there ..they r standing up against any such piece of art or writings ..i have been in touch with such Samitis coming up... The object of Guru Maharaj's writing is potraying the Bir Ras and the righteous deeds of the Divine beings who had done such goods that they were considered as Avatars and are now worshipped. His Highness Dasve Paadshaah ji still concludes that we are not worshipping any Avatars, we are worshippers of the Akaal Purakh. The Avatars maybe part of the Akaal Purakh's manifestation however since they have come in human form, they have also made some errors knowingly or unknowningly which are made by the common man. We need to bring back our Original Puratan Sikhi of course with some reforms .May Waheguru clear Sikhi of people who have anglicized and islamised Sikhi..
