  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! check this out Terrorists or Freedom Fighters? BKI is listed - i can't believe it has been givem 6 out of 10 for power!! (should have been 10!! ) is the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh also called RSS? if it is then why isn't Sikhs put down as an enemy? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  2. Thats true. A prime example of this would be the royal family where royals only marry royals hence they marry with cousins, etc. You hear a lot about problems with children in the royal family having disorders etc. on the news. If the adam and eve theory was true then i guess that according to the genral trend in the quality of human beings (in terms of physique, health, etc,) through generations where couples are related would suggest that we as humans are in the worst state. but that don't make sense @ hahahahaha
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I've just watced the video - i can't believe how violent some of these protests are these days. Where is the unity? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Sangat Jeeo, I've noticed that a lot of gurdwara especially during akhand paaths use a lamp using ghee. I heard that they use it in case of any power breaks but is it an essential? Nowadays you can get battery powered lights which probably are more efficient in providing light for the paathi singhs. Another thing is that the jot is wrecking the paint job above it on the ceiling at the gurdwara i go to. They always use it but they keep it like 3-6 metres away from Guru Sahib. Whats the point? You can even get emergency lights installed which charge when electricity is working and automatically switch on during power surges. Lets have everyones opinion in this topic. 5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! thats amazing
  6. it changes your life but make sure you have prepared. a lot of people think of it as a 'join the club' thing but you have to be willing to give your head. Shaheed Bhai Fauja Singh Jee was asked to go place his head on a railway line. They were so thirsty for amrit they did, it was only a couple of minutes before the train would have come that one of the singhs came to get bhai sahib. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! 7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I remember that a sevadaar at one of our previous sikh camp gave the prashad to the first 5 amritdhari singhnee's. Although that this sevadaar did this with the right intention (to prove that women are also classed as gursikhs if amritdhari), it kicked up a bit of a fuss in the comittee. The comittee is predominantly made up of 'oldies' and therefore tend to stick to their punjabi frame of mind. In the end we (well i wasn't involved) managed to get them to think straight and in accordance with gurmat. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  8. yeah i remember those lines after school. it did feel quite nice rubbing it afterwards though Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I've been told that everytime you go to the gurdwara you should always wear 2 keskis and not 1. I remember being in a discussion at my local gurdwara where i was told that you should wear 2 keskis or, 1 keski and a dastaar cos to get into the akaal takhat sahib you need to be wearing 2. I don't know if anyone has watched the new film 'dharam di chaadar' produced by hardeep singh (the amar khalsa dude) - i just watched it at the gurdwara today. This film is set around Guru Teghbahadur jee's shaheedi. In this film there's a scene when a moghul messenger goes to a hindu wedding and orders them to take off their dastara because only moghuls have the right to wear such a crown. So i was thinking that as Guru Gobind Singh jee always did the opposite to what the moghuls did maybe thats why we have to also wear keski's/dastaara; not 1 but 2. Correct me if i'm wrong. Gurfateh
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! If you can't get a copy of the sttm software then just search online for the meantime. SikhiToTheMax Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Is this smagam actually run by akj? :T: cos i thought it was guru harkrishan sahib gurdwara who were organising this event. anyway i think it will be good!! : Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  13. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! sangat jeeo, if you attaended the UK north smagam rehansbai on saturday (15th november) you would have had the oppurtunity to listen to bhai jasbir singh jee (khanne wale's) keertan. He is the the president of the newly created supreme comitee of akal takhat sahib (above sgpc ) which has 21 members. what i mean to say is that he is quite an important and priminant figure in the khalsa panth. He did keertan at the rehansbai (last hour of rehansbai) and started off with simran. He then did very nice shabads like raagi style but what shocked me was that he was doing simran in between shabads. Not ordinary ragi simran but akj style B) !!!! The recordings will be up on akj.org.uk so here's ur ultimate backup Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  14. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! In the past 4 years, we have had 5 individuals chainging their personality completely to a gursikh lifestyle due to them attending our sikh camps in Bradford! The camp is very succesfull every year and it is always nice to know that there is at least one individual out of 300 odd people who takes up gursikhi lifestyle. This might not seem a lot but believe me, the amount of asar (effect) this has on their families also brings them closer to the truth. We have experienced of how these prized individuals have problems in starting to tie their dastaar so please sangat jeeo, those who can tie a dastaar, give them as much pyaar and effort possible to teach them in tying a dastaar. ? ? 15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! the rehansbai was amazing - a great start to the north smagam program which will now be an annual event. keertan will be up very shortly. the website will now have regular updates so keep checking back! 16. if you go to the new southall gurdwara there is an area with a plaque on the wall with all the names of people who donated the most in building the new 17 million pound gurdwara. This gurdwara is now the biggest gurdwara outside India and has a dome made out of gold which, apparently cost 3 million pounds itself @ i personally believe that donating (i.e. giving dasvand) is a good seva and should be the part of every gursikhs life (as gursikhs are meant to earn honestly : ), but should also be done discretely. These 'honouring' methods are simply put up so that they may gain credit by people and to have some power in the gurdwara - you know what gurdwara politics are like today it is just for their hankaar to put it simply. 17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I had an interesting discussion at school in the sixth form cafeteria with some of my sikh and muslim friends. We started talking about how the people of each religion cause a segregation within, leading to different caste's (e.g. jatt), and groups (e.g sunny, shia). We also agreed on points as such that there are people who misuse preaching (eg. sants in sikhi and pir's in islam) for their own benefit - i.e. in return for money. I talked about how there have been sants who have come to Bradford (the town i live in) in the past (not now as any self proclaimed sant who dares coming to Bradford especially singh sabha is asking for a beating :v :g ) and offered remedies at a price for curing diseases, condition's, etc. It was later discovered by the panth that they were using cocaine in some of these so called remedies. Anyway (getting to the topic), i started talking to some other muslims adn we talked the soame topics as i discussed before but from talking about how people cause problems, and how some hate each other, we started talking about how the whole world could just be one big family and how we actually came into existence. :T: I mentioned Darwin's theory of evolution but the muslims readily opposed it as they believe that they were created by God with clay according to the qur'an. However I said that although i believe that waheguroo jee created us, i don't really care how as this not my purpose as a sikh to live. My purpose along with everyone else's purpose should be to intune with waheguroo. I mentioned how waheguroo ji's creations have evolved over years eg. the horse's foot and that we may have developed from other animal such as chimps, apes. Although some of us would have liked to have been evolved from the tiger. :e: The muslims talked about Adam and Eve and how they were sent down to earth from heaven for eating an apple or something...basically their story made no sense as they said that they only had 2 boys. maharaj says: ..but even then there is no direct statment towards evolution. i guess that it must be a bs topic. The muslims seemed quite stubborn to their belief and so i left the discussion at that. Although this was quite an interesting discussion to pass over my lunch break i was wondering what the rest of the sangat have to say about evolution. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! 18. here's another thing that might convince what a sikh is. those of you walking around claiming to be sikhs (including myself) should read what the khalsa panth's definition of a sikh is: - therefore a sikh at any stage can wear a kirpan in my opinion. my source - www.sgpc.net :e: Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! i voted for the one abt that a sikh can wear a kirpan at any stage cos u can only call urself a sikh if you are in accordance with guru sahib jee: Guru Raam Daas Ji Raag Gauree 305 Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! The Kirpan is an emblem of courage and adventure. In order to have self-respect, the Khalsa should maintain the means to vindicate his honour. The sword is to be used for the defence of others and not for offence. From the possession of a sword comes the Khalsa Panth to be a brotherhood of arms. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! i think this is gonna be the first ever live broadcast of any uk rehansbai so if you can't make it UP here : don't miss out on the laha. Gurfateh
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! there is quite a harsh discussion on this topic on the following link. a true picture of what is in the minds of our brothers/sisters? :T: why do so many people believe in the caste system? this forum contains some offensive language. you will like this gabroo.
  23. hahahahaha veer jee i like ur macho style. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
