  1. Nothing is stopping a 'sikh' marrying someone from a diifferent religion. However a dedicated sikh, who is amrit shakyaa, would be going against rehat (sikh code of conduct) if marrying someone from another religion or even a sikh who hasnt amrit shak.

  5. I have to say HARPREET SINGH! And of course all other kirtanis aswell.
  6. Dont't think someone soon can do this! because one who understands this understands everything!
  7. the universal gurbani is universal, gurbani is a message for everyone. In SIMPLE TERMS: The first line is telling us about this maya and false it is, the 2nd line tells us that the only thing which is true is the lord, who created this world. The 2nd example has 2 lines: the 1st is obviously for manmukhs whose mind is controlled by the evil of this world, punj chor etc. The 2nd like is for the gurmukh who has control over his mind and only the gurmukh can truly understand this meaning.
  8. one of my friends sent this email, he thought it was funny (maybe not?)
  9. Never say sorry, it shows your weak. Saying sorry in the olden days was an act of great weakness Here is an example of our strong leader tony blair! Just Say Sorry (JSS) is a campaign run by Our World Our Say, a progressive, mainstream, non-partisan group using the Internet to communicate our concerns to politicians, corporate interests, and opinion formers. Formed originally in January 2003 to oppose Britain's involvement in Iraq, we have 50,000 active supporters. Many are calling for Tony Blair’s resignation because parliament and the British people were misled into war. The Iraq Survey group has reported there were no WMD to speak of. Even Kofi Annan has recently voiced his belief that the war was 'illegal'. It is disgusting that he has not yet offered an apology - a most trivial of gestures - in the face of the most appalling human cost in Iraq. Far from helping to reduce terrorism, it has actually increased it. And every day Britain's involvement continues our bill grows by £5 million. He has so many people wanting him to say sorry. even if you know your wrong dont say sorry! Hope you learnt something, sorry for writing so much.
  10. As the sevdaar has said, this is a smagam to bring the khalsa panth together. However this smagam will be done in akhand kirtani jatha style!
  11. the raensbhai is going to be at wolverhampton gurdwara right? (biggest gurdwara in midlands)
  12. Oh yes! is this a neutral smagam like manchester smagam, if it is thats great!! Oh and where abouts of uk will the smagam be? And which kirtani have been invited so far?
  13. kumi, firstly im not calling you a low life. Chaupie sahib is part of the panj baniyaa as instructed to do if following rehat. We can also read Chaupie Sahib for protection. Now chandi di war is only for those who have complete control of anger and are going to acheive there bir ras. As 'All-info' has said we are on the path of becoming a saint soldier. First Saint, dont jump to warior, because that means nothing. It is more important just being a saint, then the final step is to be a saint soldier! Assuming you follow rehat and do the most important basics, nitnem, this means that you have spare time to read more bani as you have time to read chandi di war. in this case why dont you read sukhmani sahib. Peace and love is vital for a singh. Then hopefully one day even i can be worthy of reading chandi di war and develop my bir rass, then use that against evil and protecting others. Dont feel offended kumi, that is the impression i got when you said 'us low lives'. You know i didnt say or mean that. If you don't want to listen then carry on doing whatever you want, it is up to the guru.
  14. kumi if you have naam ras, then its great that you do chandi di war so that you get bir rass. But if you dont do the basics, read guru granth sahib ji and you're not saintly, then chandi di war will only make you a krodhi. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, whose bani is in sri dasam granth, he said Guru Granth Sahib ji is the guru. And dasam granth was compiled afterwards. Reading the dasam granth is for those fortunate souls with high spirtuality and who have become loving to everyone. Chandi di war was read to prepare for battle! And only if you have complete control of krodh should you recite chandi di war.
  15. thats why you shouldnt read chandi di war, until you have become a saintlike person, first read guru granth sahib ji, then progress to dasam granth and beer ras baniyaa. or otherwise this may cause more krodh(anger)
  16. Your lucky kumi to have that feeling at the age of 9 keep your rehat!
  17. Anti panthic implies that group or person is against the khalsa panth, a non amritdhari cannot be anti panthic just because he/she doesn't floow guru ji's rehat If you dont follow rehat it just means you are not part of the khalsa panth (not-anti panthic!)
  18. I would say no, read my earlier post again: " Many many sikhs dont follow rehat, but it doesnt mean they are against the khalsa or dont believe that rehat is the truthful way of living." Therefore, these sikhs who are not amritdhari and dont really follow rehat (code of conduct), how we're supposed to, still may not be anti panthic.
  19. You're right pheena, your only anti panthic if you are against the beliefs and/or don't believe in these guidlines. Many many sikhs dont follow rehat, but it doesnt mean they are against the khalsa or dont believe that rehat is the truthful way of living.
  20. Pathic has a few meanings but as an adjective (sikhi wise) is to act accordingly to the sikh faith and do actions which is positive for the khalsa. The khalsa panth is one, (the group of khalsa) and one day khalsaa shall rule! anti panthic groups are of many, they are delibrately trying to bring down sikhi and they do not follow the rehat marayda (sikh code of conduct) surprisengly there are so called 'sikhs' and 'sikh' groups who are also anti panthic, they go against the guru's wishes. This isnt easy to explain, although this answer may seem unclear, this may help you understand a bit better.
