  1. neither when there is a jung (war) .. thats an exception.. rehat is manditory tho, make sure u take a shower before doing nitnem unless u physically can't ex (rehansabhai or jung etc) .. the reasons for taking a shower at amritvela... 1) wakes u up (most important reason for me lol) 2) gets you clean before touching a gutka sahib or guru granth sahib etc (many people sleep after playing sports, work etc) 3) many people especially teenagers have noctural emissions at night (fluids come out from private parts) .. srry didn't know how else to say it, and in maryada when fluids come out one must take full ishnaan before doin anytin 3) wakes u up 4) did i say wakes u up lol 5) it opens up all the dirty pores in your body that were covered from filth at night or from the previous day, so u feel fresh and when u do simran it will all the more vibrant
  2. so lets say in about 20 -30 years supposingly the panjabi community start to say words a bit differently, does that mean the sgpc will change the gutka sahibs again to suit the way ppl speak? . . . bani shud remain as its written in puratan saroops exactly, they will change it.. thats what im saying, keep it the same way it is written in puratan saroops and gutke sahibs.. sgpc is madd corrupt.. they change maryada n stuff jus so more people will join the panth, but whats the real use of them joining the panth when they don't follow it.. know what i mean.. sgpc is only changing <admin-profanity filter activated> so more people join so in numbers sikhs look good compared to other religions etc . when i went to india i attending one political sgpc meeting and i got most of this from there styll
  3. i jus saw the pics n there are some mone n bibiyaan.. the reason u don't see many is because these conference was for the Representatives of sikhi in each respective nation in europe.. its not jus for average people.. its for the representatives.. i would highly doubt any mone would be representatives of sikhi n iunno why bibiyaan aren't but men usually do it styll, its not that they aren't allowed but they choose not to step up, but there was one bibi with her kid in the pic so dun doubt errytin .. keep an open mind about things man, u kids get too caught up in trying to find something wrong in every little thing
  4. DDT gutka sahibs have bani written like it is written from puratan saroops, except in rehraas sahib they add a couple more paureeyan in Chaupaii Sahib.. SGPC gutke sahibs are modified to how we say it today, you'll probabaly hear most people from sgpc or like people who haven't gotten proper santhiya done say that pauree that ur talking about with z but it should be sed with a j, when u take santhiya you'll realize how big a difference it really makes in the pronounciation cuz the meaning changes i would suggest using Damdami Taksal Gutke sahibs cuz the bani is more shud, but in the end it is up to u
  5. can anyone send me the black/white scarface style pic of sant jarnail singh, i need it for an art project.. i can't find it on ma computer no more, i had it before thanks
  6. ok, imma make the answers easy. i tink the above post did it but if u dunno half the stuff she is talking about since u may be not so inot sikhi urself, (not judging just if u aren't) here are some easy answers Q. Why dont u cut ur hair -->sikhs beleive in being natural to the body god gave us, if we cut it it only grows back so obviously god probabaly wants us to have it Q. Why do u cover your head --> because our hair would be a mess and hard to take care of if it wasn't covered (with a turban) Q. Why do u cut ur nails n not ur hair -->because we beleive in making a truthful living n not stealing so if we did not cut our nails we wouldn't be able to make a truthful living and work. we would have to depend on other people or other forms of making money, which might not always be the righteous way Q. why do u cover ur head hair n not ur eyebrows --> need to find an answer w.o involving dasam dwaar cuz that gonna make people think weird things cuz it would take weeks to explain dasam dwaar, then amrit, bani, guru sahib, anand sahib.. u would need to explain A lot to proerply explain dasam dwaar Q. What is the signifance of the turban --> our religion does not beleive in the caste system. we beleive in the equality of all and back in the day only kings n really rich people used to wear turbans as a sign of wealthiness and royalty like a crown. Well our religion says everyone is prince because everyone has the light of god in them so basically when u get baptised in sikhism u are given the last name singh which means prince and a turban, whether u are of a very low caste or a very high caste, it does not make a difference, everyone gets treated equally. then u could actually go into langar if u want. --> an example of the equality in sikhism and humbleness is that anyone can go into a temple, there are no restrictions. And everyone is allowed to feast in the daily free kitchen which is offered at temples. Volunteers make food for the congregation everyday, and is mostly available 24/7 for anyone to come in at any time and eat, regardless of caste, colour, look, anything. in this free kitchen everyone sits on the floor, as a sign of equality and humility. No one eats on tables, even kings or prime ministers that go to temples must eat on the ground showing that no one is higher than the other. We eat on the same level as the lowest of the low so they dont actually feel that low anyone, they feel equal.. this is a sign of humility in sikhi .. as well anyone can also be baptised regardless of past religion, race, colour, caste.. once u enter sikhi u have no caste, u are just a child of god as every single other person on this world which is a very big blessing in itself which is again why u are called a singh which means a prince Q. Why do u carry a knife on u --> as a sign of fighting against tyranny and upholding justice and truth.. Say somebody comes into the mall with a gun and i start to run away, i'll feel my kirpan and realize that it is my duty to do everything in my power to stop that person from hurting anyone.. I dont necessarily HAVE to use my kirpan and kill the guy, but moreover fight for justice to solve the situation.. When all means of peace have failed, then it is righteous to pick up the sword or the kirpan.. but that is after ALL, EVERY SINGLE means of peace have failed.. the kirpan is basically with us so incase we ever need it to or uphold justice we are always ready, not having to go look for something when someone is sticking a gun at someone else's head Q. what is the significance of the big turban compared to the small one --> there is no significance. small kids just usually wear the small turban because it is easier to tie for them. when they grow up and learn to tie the big one, then they tie that.. if parents teach the kids how to tie the big one when they are small then thats even better. Q. How many gods do u have --> we beleive in one god, the only one. He prevades everywhere and is in everything. god does not have a name, he is beyong that. he does not have a sex, caste, religion, colour, or background. He is the supreme being. u can call him wut u like, sikhs call him Vaheguru because guru means teacher and sikh means learner. Vahe means wonderful... so basically sikhs are leaners of the supreme being or the ultimate teacher, god. p.s. these are just easy ways of answering questions from other people.. i know it is VERY brief but it answers the questions and satisfies the other person.. sikhi is weird in its way that if u want to properly explain onething, u end up explaining ten others while ur at it, in the end u leave the other person confused as to throwing so much info at them. jus keep is simple n striaght forward

  8. um i dun wanna burst ya bubble or nuttn' i mean excellent post.. but ur first paragraph is wrong according to bani.. people weren't liberated easily b/c there was no maya.. according to bani, on a monday it was jus vaheguru himself in his beauty, then on tuesday he created maya, then the world.. he put maya in charge of this world so basically, maya was always here.. according to what little i know, the reason it was easier to do bhagti back then (satyug etc) was b/c it wasn't an independant journey between a man and akaal... if one guy messed up, the entire village had to pay for his bad karams so they'd kick his <admin-profanity filter activated> n shytt.. so people were afraid to mess up otherwise he's gonna get in shytt from everyone... and b/c they had so much nimrata in them they wuldnt wanna ruin it for everyone now, in kalyug every man pays for his own deeds. now the lekha only has ur name on it, nah ur whole village or family or w.e wicked post tho, peace godbless
  9. dun get churr hopes up.. u prally owe em' frum a past life or sumfn.. dese tingz dun 'appen for no reason.. n yea u worked hard, buh only ta pay off ur karams, u made em, u gotta pay em.. dun be mad at anyone, be mad at churr self.. buh i aint no antarjamee so i can't say fo sure is' ur karam.. he's ur dad, he'll pay u back when he gets the money right, how else is he gonna pay u back.. i say give it three-5 years, cuz no one makes ANY profit before that wen startin a business (i aint here ta cause fights, n rarely post, so no point bashin me or sharn ur bad thoughts wit da public bout me, pm me or keep em to urself) peace, godbless
  10. IF its 2.5% iunno, cuz i know gianni thakur singh aint a liar an he sed it was 40% in one of his kathas styll
  11. jus wanna add, sometimes sikhs don't give their daswandh (10% of their earnings).. giani thakur singh said that we shud stop comapling cuz muslims have to give 40%
  12. anyone have a clear version of Bhai Harjinder Singh's Asa Di Vaar ...http://ikirtan.com/index.php?q=s&sm=ff&s=asa+di .. thats the one i have, its too staticky, but its still the best asa di vaar audio i've heard yet, if anyone has any other good raagi asa di vaars, plz post.. but preferably jus a clear version of harjinder singh thx

  15. its called sri guru arjan dev sahib ji niwas (gate of harminder sahib) buh dun go there.. u find anything u want.. they only carry basic needs such as kakkars n small kirpanan (not big variety) for taksalis that come visit harminder sahib.. they dont carry anything like for shopping , only basics.. go to mehte
  16. yea can u pm me the entire email plz ..
  17. forget all that, reach Mehta Chownk straight up.. u can get custom made taksali kirpans.. talk to Bhai Nirmal Singh, pm me on that buh, he'll hook u up nicely.. if u wan bhindran kirpana den reach bhindran pind straight up.. dun buy from that taksali shop dey sayin in da gali of amritsar.. dey dun carry nice shasters.. its more jus basic kakkars for anyone dat lost theirs or for taksalis that visit amritsar.. jus incase dey need sumfn, dey dun have too much dere reach mehte, get anyfin u want.. nirmal singh will hook up taksali chole too.. he'll call the mochi to take ur naap n all, its sick
  18. .. u ddun wanna buy cholas made here.. they suck.. for one, no one knows how ta make em properly n two they gon charge u an arm n a leg its gon be almost 40 dollars for one if u get em from here.. best bet is ta send ur naap down ta a relative in india, get em made dere n tell someone to bring it back wen dey come, theres always someone comin n goin from india.. that way u can buy like 10 for 40 dollars n they'll be made properly if u wan nihungi chole, go to sacha sauda, they have bane banaye
  19. look it aint a joke, buh a figure o' speech.. its hard to understand tingz on da internet cuz its different frum talking.. hes sayn like yo that aint nuffn, chek dis out... dere's nothing wrong wit it.. i dunno da guy buh relax he's typn like we talk.. jus say it to ur self.. hes tryn ta say this simran is good too.. we shud love each other, dont think like others are doin something wrong, dey prolly know wut they sayn, n u do too. jus tink bout it.. its a sikh sangat, i dun tink anyone can really mean "one simran is worse than another".. all simran is good.. look at it dis way, at least he's listen'n to simran, be happy
