There is no point in answering a post such as the one from 'TheVampire'. He/She hasnt come here to look for answers or learn, theyre just here to cause friction and spread the hate. If you have probelms with all these issues, just come right out with it and ask for an explanation, instead of trying to take the mick out of a gursikh who tries to keep the rehit of sarbloh bibek, why not do some research, ask these people why they keep the rehit. No one is forcing you to do things you dont want to do, if you want to go out, wear a hat, eat a burger and have fun, go ahead. Whenever i say fateh to older people who arent amritdhari they never say fateh back, they say 'sat sri akal' so i dunno. Yes if a couple are non amritdhari and are married, if one of the couple wants amrit the other has to take amrit to. Becuase they are married, and live together, its not possible to live as a couple with one being amritdhari and the other not. However in bhai sahibs times, ive read a few cases where the same thing happened, the singh really wanted to take amrit but his wife didnt. He was so desperate for amrit, but his wife wasnt with him, so he was given amrit on the condition that he cut all ties/his relationship with his wife. So he wouldnt eat from her, had no sexual relationships with her etc. Actually i dont think he lived with her anymore. So it depends how desperate one is for amrit, and if their willing to sacrifice stuff for it.
