  1. Looking at the photos above....it doesn't seem like Dhundha would've spoken against Sri Dasam Granth Saheb infront of so many Nihung Singhs.
  2. Googled it :D :bl: search for 'let me google that for you'...click on http://lmgtfy.com/ after you create the search...it gives you a link to copy and so on. It's cool, isn't it?
  3. Hope you didn't mind, it was only a joke... :mellow2:
  4. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=kumbh+mela Love this one! :D
  5. Wow! The pictures are quite interesting. Looking forward to seeing this year's pictures.
  6. I'm 13 years younger to my Singh. We have a beautiful little son, lovely family.... I don't see any problems with our age gap. :happy2: edit: Also, the age gap between my mother-in-law and father-in-law was 10 years. Honestly, the age-gap doesn't matter as much as compatibility does!
  7. If your families know about it...and you do feel a connection...why don't you guys get married? Do remember, the 'connection' you're talking about is your soul connecting. You've said...what if something goes wrong... If it does, before you get married...you might end up 'connecting' to someone else as time goes by. Spiritually, it DOES make a difference. The bonds that the soul makes...just don't simply get erased. Take it all very seriously. I suggest you guys get married and save yourselves the guilt.
  8. I thinks the following attachments might help understand about the importance of Gurbani in relation to (not as opposed to) Gurmantar. These are excerpts from the book "Naam te Naam da data Satguru" written by Bhai Saheb Bhai Randheer Singh Ji. The gist of it all is as quoted: "Gurbani di sahaeta ton bina naam de simran vich navin chardi kala nahin wartdi, jo gurbani paran sunan wale naam abhiyaasi di dasha vich wartdi te pallardi hai, kyonki Gurbani te naam dono ot-pot han. Gurbani di paaras kala di sahaeta ton sakhne nire naam de abhiyaasi aksar khardi kala vich reh jande han." (apologies for lousy transliteration) In English: Without the help of Gurbani, there is no Chardi-kala (uplifting?, uprising?) in the chanting of Naam (Gurmantar/Waheguru)...that happens in the case of a seeker who reads and listens to Gurbani, because Naam and Gurbani are bother interrelated. Without the 'paras-kala' (?don't know correct translation?) of Gurbani, mere chanters of Naam, usually have no progress spiritually. Edit: point being that Mool Mantar and Gurmantar are inter-related. It's not wise to speculate which one is stronger than the other.
  9. Really? What would've been to reason to ask them to take off? Disrespect to Mercedes?
  10. I've heard that it's an another name for the Kalki Avtaar.
  11. I have absolutely no doubt about the corrupt ways of the SGPC. However, if they do make the aforementioned excuse, what should be our response? Should a Gurmatta have been passed? I do understand that this particular saroop of Maharaaj Ji is of historical importance. But the other 'birdh' saroops in and around Harmandar Saheb...Who gets to make decisions about them, usually/normally?
  12. I totally agree with you all about the destruction of heritage and 'evidence'. I just have another question: Would it be wrong to do saskaar of that particular saroop of Maharaaj ji if the saroop is 'birdh'?
  13. What do the doctors say? Is it merely cradle cap or something else?

Waheguruji ka khalsa waheguruji ki fateh bhenji. Glad to hear that you've chosen the path of sikhi that many, who're born into sikh families, find difficult. I'm assuming that you must have been attracted towards some aspects or something peculiar must have happened in your life that drew you towards Sikhi. People often ask, like Gurpreet14 bhenji has asked above, how does that happen? The answer is...it's all Karam. You must've had some really good karams that you got Amrit and have been able to adopt Sikhi. Listen to the Katha linked below, bhenji. Baba Hari Singh Randhawe wale have explained how every time one tries to progress spiritually, a bad-karam comes forwards and we have to endure the result of or as we say in Punjabi: Karam bhogna paina. Now how does one erase those Karams? Nishkaam-sewa, Keertan, Satsang are a few of the easier methods. Also, do not take our Nitnem for granted. Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale say in his katha that one day's nitnem, washes away Sanchit-Karam (collective deeds) of 100 previous births. On another note, is there anything that makes you sad or depressed? A bad mood doesn't allow one to progress spiritually either. It's often necessary to try and see if there is an underlying issue. Hope I have been of a little help, Bhenji. Take care.
  15. Now you've officially turned the thread titled "~~ Re Man Eh Bidh Jog Kamaao ~~~" into a 3HO bashing thread. Bhaji, Why don't you understand? We're not worshipping the 3HO here...nor are we trying to promote them or anything. We just simply shared videos where the titled shabad was being sung. You still haven't explained your first statement of accusing us of hypocrisy.
  16. Bhai Saheb, we were simply sharing videos that we liked. I've never met a single 3HO person in my life. I find Snatam's videos very calming and the one I shared helps me concentrate. I struggle to understand how is it hypocritic at all! I know N30S1NGH bhaji has friends/acquaintances within that group....but why is that so bad? Bhaji, if you wanted, you could've simply ignored the thread and moved onto the next topic you liked! Why did you have to be so rude and hateful!? edited: Although I do agree about the organisation's condemnable practices. But that certainly doesn't restrict us from sharing whatever good we're able to see in them.
  17. And please, don't try to turn it into a hate thread either. Thank you.
  18. Omg! Snatam Kaur's video is the first thing that came to mind when I read the title! The chant is absolutely soothing!
  19. Bhaji, I'm not entirely sure about the history behind colours of Nishan Saheb. But my reply was in regard to the kesri colour being legitimate for Khalsa's representation and not necessarily bahmanvaad.
  20. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Mata_Jito An excerpt from the article linked above: "Mata Jito Ji aka Mata Ajeet Kaur Ji, after a lot of Nam Simran and Abhiaas, she knew what was to happen in the future, she saw the martyrdom of her elder and younger sons, She told Guru Gobind Singh Ji, about the Future, which was to be very hard, for her to live to see her sons becoming Shaheed, So She permission from Guru Gobind Singh Ji, that if she could leave her body, for Sachkhand, as she could not tolerate, the hard times ahead. Mata Ajeet kaur Ji, left this world for Sachkhand, at Anandpur Sahib on 5 December 1700, years before the martyrdom of her sons or the events leading to the battle of Chamkaur. The cremation took place at Agampura, near the Holgarh Fort. A memorial shrine now stands upon the spot. First building was built, by the Sikhs, Prior to 1947. The Present Gurdwara Mata Ajeet kaur Ji, was rebuilt, in between 1966-1972, completed in 1972."
  21. http://www.flickr.com/photos/amarjeet229/5502747140/ In the image linked above Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale have tied a Kesri dastaar. Is it possible that they would've tied a dastar of a colour that's not in accordance to Sikhi bana?
  22. Bhenji, follow this link: http://www.jawadditaksal.org/index.php/General/raag-siri.html There is an index of all 31 Raags on the left hand side. When you click on any notation image...a window/tab opens for the audio of that particular shabad. I personally found it a wonderful compilation!
  23. Sri Raag! :l: My most favourite audio track of Sri Raag is sung by Bibi Geeta Kaur Pental. I believe she's from Jawaddi Taksal. http://www.sikhnet.com/gurbani/audio/rang-ratta-mera-sahib-1
