    Jot Or Diva?

lighting and possibly to give a nice smell, nothing more than that. There is no compulsion to have a jot or diva, only if it actually needed does it need to be used.
  8. Is there anymore anywhere or this it? Vaheguroo
  9. http://www.vidhia.com/Baba_Harnaam_Singh_Ji_-_Rampur_Khera/Se_Kinehiya_-_English.pdf see chapter 12 on Chandi Di Vaar 12 CORRECT TIME FOR THE PRAYER CALLED CHANDI DI VAAR Baba Ji used to recite the prayer called Chandi di Vaar daily, as part of his Nitnem. This is a prayer composed by the tenth Guru, describing a battle between demons and the Goddess called Chandi. It is usually recited by Sikhs during war. Many a time, a question would arise in his mind as to, how many times and at what time one should recite the prayer of Chandi di Vaar? Baba Ji asked many Saints and sadhus regarding this question, but could not get a satisfactory answer. One evening, at his room in the fields, after reciting the evening prayer of Rehras, Baba Ji went on to recite the prayer of Chandi di Vaar. After completing this prayer, he prepared to retire by saying his last prayer of Sohila. It was a moonlit night and the doors of the room in which he was sitting, were open. As he had just lain down, he noticed two men approaching at a short distance. Baba Ji thought to himself, that if these pedestrians were just travellers, he would offer them food and shelter for the night and if they were robbers, then he would challenge them in combat. No sooner had this thought entered his mind, than miraculously one of the Singh’s came beside him and grabbed his feet. The other one seized Baba Ji’s head and pinned him down onto the bed. Baba Ji used to tell us, ‘‘I was unable to move from the bed. A thought entered my mind that these two, who have moved faster than the speed of light in order to grasp me are neither robbers nor travellers. These two must be Shaheed Singhs (the immortal souls of Sikh martyrs). I began to recite the Mool mantar. I had only uttered the Mool mantar twice when the Singh who held my head down, let go, followed by the second Singh who was holding my feet.” Baba Ji got up and the Shaheed Singh explained, ‘‘We did not come here to fight with or seize you, but to answer your question, regarding the correct time to recite the prayer of Chandi di Vaar. As you thought about offering us a fight, we came and immediately seized you, as we did.” The Shaheed Singh continued, ‘‘If you start reciting the prayer of Chandi di Vaar after sunset then, one must keep reciting it continuously through the night until dawn. Two or more Singhs may take turns to recite this prayer through the night, it is all right to do so. One must sit upon a clean mat or bed, bathing before reciting the prayer. An oil lamp lit with clarified butter should be kept alight throughout the night. During the day, one can recite Chandi di Vaar as many times as one wants. There is no specific practice to reciting the prayer except that one reads the prayer with devotion and understanding.” After explaining these instructions, the Singh’s disappeared through the doors towards the direction they came from.
  10. A jathedar + Panj Pyare under the leadership of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj should run Gurdware. Obviously this would entail all of the individuals being amritdhari.
  11. Not only that, but will she be pressured into also doing Hindu rituals and fasting? Most importantly what about the children, what religion will they follow? These are all things people don't seem to think about, or if they do, they don't care because they are more interested in having a cozy life than following Sikhi.
  12. A simply disgraceful video. He clearly has no understanding whatsoever of bibek. Caste discrimination is based on someone's birth, bibek is based on someone's actions. He says following bibek makes people seperate, it does so no more than having a dastar and wearing the kakkars. Does he also think we should stop that? People should refrain from acting as authorities on issues they have no clue about. When talking about Guru Nanak Dev Ji's sakhi of the blood from food, he says Guru Nanak Dev Ji was doing it to teach those particular people, absolute rubbish as Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj says: ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸਾਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਾਝੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੈ ॥ Parthā▫e sākẖī mahā purakẖ bolḏe sājẖī sagal jahānai. Great men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them. That sakhi is proof that bibek is Gurmat, so all he can do is try to disprove that we should strive to follow it. And on top of that hes saying Singhs ate horses when they ran out of food. Someone with such views should not be making videos, atleast on these topics. He is only correct in saying we should not eat meat.

  17. Keep it cool guys, this is an emotional topic for all of us let alone for those who knew him well. In my opinion its best to leave the speculation until more news comes to light. It was only yesterday everyone was pointing the finger at GOI, I think the last 24 hours should teach us all not to jump the gun and to give time for more information to become available before reaching any conclusions.

  19. It's our own fault and nothing but. Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Sikhi has people running towards it, the Sikhi of many 'Sikhs' today has people running away from it. Such an equal philosophy which seats Bhagat Ravidas Sahib Ji's bani at the highest place of all should be filled to the brim with those who suffer caste prejudice elsewhere, as it did when our Guru Sahibs did parchar of Sikhi while in physical bodies. The problem is clearly with us, the Guru Panth.
