  1. is it this one? http://www.sikhee.com/audio/Simran/AMAZING%20SIMRAN%2004%20Track%204.mp3
  2. VahegurooJiKaKhalsaVahegurooJiKiFateh! I love this show! Best show on ANY sikh channel. Please cover the following: BIG BIG CRUCIAL point- Parents need to check out what their kids are doing on the net! No way should anyone under 16 have a facebook or msn! Soo much dodgy stuff on there...its my opinion fb,msn etc encourages this through random adds etc. Or if they do they need to keep tabs on what their kids are doing on the net, who they are talking to etc. I'm not just talkin about predators I mean people of their own ages such as members of certain other faiths *cough* trying it on with our girls. Do parents know that everyday certain muslim boys send out add requests on fb and msn to sikh girls they don't even know? Giving them access to pictures, sensitive information, who their friends are, and most importantly intimate, up close contact. They use this to get into relationships with them. Please cover the need for the teaching of Sikhi to children/teenagers in your show. Alot of parents don't bother teaching anything to their kids, thats why some of the youth we have is just nuts and has no self respect or respect for Sikhi. Or if the parents do teach anything its basically superstition/punjabi culture and its the combination of the way they enforce this so strictly and just the actual stupidity of what they enforce that ends up turning kids away from Sikhi as they believe all the rubbish they are told is Sikhi. Also, please bring up the point of the need to keep kids involved in some sort of sangat from a very early age, Sikh youths need to be the social group for other Sikh youths. Just teaching principles alone to kids won't necessarily defend them from being influenced by people in school (esp in areas where there are less sikhs and more of other particular groups), their life must revolve around Sikhi.
  3. Is there a full jeevani of Baba ji online anywhere? Vaheguroo. Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Pyare.
  4. a friend wants to know if there will be a live broadcast of the rainsabai tonight?
  5. I would have sent a pm but not everyone reads them, so apologies for being off topic. However, as for East London sangat please do come to Friday Simran sessions at Singh Sabha Gurdwara Seven Kings (next to homebase), you can meet gursikhs here as well as get laha! They take place every week from 7:30pm-9:00pm. There is also a simran session at karamsar gurdwara sahib ilford every thursday 8:30pm to 9:15pm. Sangat is smaller in East London than other places but its still good! Last saturday of every month there is a keertan darbar at 7 kings singh sabha aswell. <self edit> Please let me know if you want to know anything more about Sangat in East London. Back to topic! As for Bham most of the sangat I have ever met from there seems to be really chardikala, I am envious of the amount of programmes that take place in Bham. As an outside observer it has seemed to be a live place for Sikhi and sangat. I may be wrong but I'd say look at things in proportion. Percentage wise there is probably the same amount of 'dodgy stuff' that takes place in all sangats in all cities, its just that there is so very much more sangat in bham that obviously in proportion to the good stuff the bad stuff will be quite large compared to in other places so you notice it more, but really its probably the same ratio.

  9. I think you are looking a little too deep into the title. It should by no means be interpreted to mean that I am saying compassion is limited to vegetarians or even that only meat eaters should watch it. Simply that this is certainly of extra importance to those who do eat meat as they may wish to re-evaluate their dietary choices upon watching the video. Neither have I tried to shy away from the important point raised by the exposure of the practices employed by the milk industry i.e also of importance to vegetarians such as myself. Although cruelty to animals may not be the 'intention' of meat eaters, there is no doubt that murder is the basis of the meat industry. The video clearly highlights the horrid cruelty of the entire process from birth to death of the animals and fish, so no matter what is in the minds' of the meat eaters, their enjoyment is in fact dependent on cruelty to animals, per se. There is no escaping that. As for your comments towards me as a moderator, I will bear what you have said in mind however holding the position of a moderator does not strip me of my right to an opinion. Aside from actual moderation duties not everything I do on Sikhsangat is as part of my capacity as a moderator.
  10. milk wise, does anyone know how much better organic cows are kept? I honestly hope for a Sikh to open a dairy farm.
  11. I wonder what it feels like telling Maharaj what to do; "We want your blessings,so you come to us" and then "You can go now, we want to party and drink". You don't tell Guru Ji to come to you, you go to Guru Ji!!
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_G8GjMxkQU EDIT:Gurmat article on the topic http://tapoban.org/akalikaur.html contains justification for accidental death of insects, etc. in vegetarian lifestyle.
  13. A famous book shop giving such a book to people living abroad without them even asking for it? Sounds very suspect to me.
