  1. I do not think it is sikhi that is weak, it is the followers that lack faith and conviction.

  3. I usually find doing kirtan will cheer me up or doing simran..but there are times when that hasn't even worked and I have just gone into the back yard and done practiced gatka whilst doing simran or had an intensive workout at the gym.. just some suggestions
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! The khalsa is known for being sabat soorat. Rehat dictates that we should not alter our bodies in any way. I.e. something as basic as not wearing makeup/jewellary to not removing hair as well as not getting a tattoo. After all, a tatoo WILL alter you body therefore you are not accepting what guru sahib gave you. Let me just also highlight to get a tatoo, they will shave you hair on that part of your body because a clean surface is required. Needless to say this is beadbi of your kesh. Bhul chuk maaf! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  5. I personally go for the kamarkasa if you want to secure your kirpan. However, you can also adjust your gatra so that the kirpan will fit into the waistline of your sports pants and it should be secure. That is what I do. You should not let wearing a shaster deter you from physical activity..after all we are natural sipahi's therefore we should always have shaster and to be a good sipahi we need to be fit so we should work out regularly :umm:
  6. The favoritism of a male is not just a panjabi thing...even the west favored males because inheritance was perferred to go to a male heir as oppose to the family of someone else, i.e the female (since she would get married).
  7. I second that, Giani Gurdev Singh did awesome kirtan that night! He is just too
  8. There is a class in LA and hopefully one will start in SJ...
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Baba Ajit Singh Gatka Akahara. Classes every Tues from 7-9 @ Community Centre Merrick Road, Southall. The Southall train station is a 1 minute walk from the centre. Hope that helps waheguroo ji ka khalsa waheguroo ji ke fateh!
  10. hmm, I have to be honest and say that I have not experienced that much racism, even subtle. Teachers have their own agenda's as to why the do not want you to do a certain class. They usually encourage you to take another class that lacks numbers so they get financial resources. Regarding the promotion of South African's etc..Well the reason the NHS does that is because in most cirmcumstances it is cheaper to promote them. They can pay them less. It's really sad but that is the way it works. That is why there are lots of foreign nurses. The NHS can pay them less, therefore the NHS can save money.. But I do agree that there is some racism, but it is a lot better than it was. I have only seen in institutes such as the army etc.
  11. I just read your email p_singh and then I saw this posted on sikhsangat. I am glad that you and your bibi were not badly hurt. I am still shocked to learn about this since I saw you last weekend and then to hear you were in this unfortunate accident. At the same time guru sahib has demonstrated how our kakkaar's and those that follow guru sahib's path are protected...dhan waheguroo jeo!
  12. Not all girls that wear jeans wear sluttish/tightish jeans that expose parts of their body.. Anyway, if jeans are banned from being worn in the gurdwara then that is fine as long as it is applicable to males as well. I have seen some guys that come to the gurdwara with jeans that are tight as well as tight tops, so if there is such a ban it should be applicable across the board. Anyway, I am not sure banning jeans will be the perfect solution because some girls wear pants that are equally inappropraite. I firmly agree we should dress appropriately to the gurdwara and not in a way that will encourage males or females to lust after you, but like I said this doesn't just apply to females. bhul chuk maaf!
  13. Vadiyaan my little veer. Happy Bday! I hope guru sahib continues to keep you in chardikala Lots of Love from you sister who shall remain gupat on this forum
