As many mistakes as the son commits,

I think Bhagat Kabeer Ji is saying there is no doubt that Waheguru forgives our mistakes, just like a mother forgives her chidren no matter what they do. "Why not destroy my sins?" isn't a real question, it is a statement

Well replied. It's a rhetorical question, and instead of giving an answer the shabad is using a comparison to try and make a point and make us understand about forgiveness.
