sheik brahm was of the lineage from bhagat faird jee, there were various bhagats that took seva of bhagat jee's dera and when guru nanak dev jee came, he met with shaik brahm and got all of bhagat farid jee's bani that is now included in guru granth sahib

what happened was a follower of shaik brahm heard guru nanak dev jee reciting bani, and said this is very similar to bhagat farids jee;s bani so he went back to the dera and got some of of bhagat jees bani and would recite and guru je would recite some bani as well, this went on for a while and half of asa dee vaar was ucharned here too by guru jee. eventually guru jee got all the bani of bhagat farid jee
