'The Lioness of the Punjab'

New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester LE1 7EA

The daughter of a Royal Palace kennel keeper, Jindan Kaur rose to become a Maharani & the most powerful woman in the Sikh Kingdom. This event sees the UK Premiere of short film 'The Rebel Queen' by Michael Singh which reveals the turmoil, murder, mayhem and diplomatic intrigue surrounding this extraordinary woman, wife of one Maharajah and mother of another. Followed by a panel discussion and Q & A with David Jones, Ipswich Museum.

'From Lahore to the Medway'

On display for one night only will be the set of Sikh armour, linked to Duleep Singh and Lord Dalhousie. The evening also offers a talk on the 'Battlefields of the Anglo Sikh Wars' by the military historian Amarpal Singh Sidhu. FREE
