Executive Director

The Dasvandh Network was founded in early 2010 to ignite the level of giving by providing access, transparency, trust, and awareness to Sikh and related charitable projects across North America. Sikhism is the world’s fifth largest religion. More information about the religion can be found here: http://sikhcoalition.org/SikhismGlance.asp. Dasvandh Network has two primary goals:

1. To inspire a new level of giving within the Community

2. To support Sikh and related initiatives through consistent funding

To achieve this goal, the Dasvandh Network team has built a new online giving platform where Sikhs and Sikhi-related projects can actively participate in the spirit of Dasvandh (giving back to the community).

We assist Sikh organizations and community projects find new donors through web-based fundraising: communication/discussion pages, social media tools, and donation processing. In addition to financial support, we offer strategic and operational advisory services.

Position:

The Dasvandh Network is looking for a smart, dedicated and passionate individual to serve as Part-time or Full-time Director of the Dasvandh Network as the site prepares for its launch.

Sample responsibilities:

- General oversight of technology, operations, and organization administration

- Marketing strategy development and execution

- Forging relationships with Sikh organizations, community members and activists

- Direct coordination and communication with Board of Directors, Chairs and Sub-Committee Chairs

- Financial reporting and cash flow management

- Volunteer recruitment and coordination;

- Grant opportunity research, grant writing, management and reporting

- Public outreach, public speaking, public relations;

Qualifications

- A drive for results that reflects a very strong ownership mentality

- Passion and drive to imagine, build, solve and execute ambitious entrepreneurial ventures; you will have to determine where you can add value and “make-it-happen”

- Excellent problem solving skills and "get-it-done" attitude

- Strong presence and relationship building skills

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills

- 2-plus years work experience, preferably in consulting, general management or non-profit management

- College degree required

NOTE: Candidates in the New York City, Connecticut, Chicago, and St. Louis areas are preferred.
