Uch Da Peer

Recommended Posts

I think it goes like this,

After Guruji left the Machiwara jungle, they were met by two brothers (bhai nabi khan?) who were Guru ji's follower. Mughals were looking for Guru ji so they got this thing made and guru ji sat on it and it was lifted by the two brothers on their shoulders. When they were stopped by some soldiers and asked who were they carrying, they replied "Uch da peer".

Sadh Sangat Jee,

Pretty much as Balait_da_Sher said, the two brothers were Nabi Khan and Ghani Khan. The three Sikhs with Guru Gobind Singh Ji were Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Mann Singh and Bhai Daya Singh. Bhai Daya Singh waved the chauri over the Guru and the rest carried Guru Ji.

Uch ka Pir can be translated as Great Guru, Uch(in Bahawalpur) was also a major Sufi Muslim centre at the time.
