[B]An Introduction to Shastar Vidiya Parmjit Singh - Author and Historian[/B] The education of a Sikh Warrior: the history, philosophy and techniques of the Sikh warrior tradition. Parmjit Singh reveals an untold story, preserved in the oral tradition of the Akali Nihungs of the Budha Dal (army of veterans) who in turn identify themselves with the evolution of the ancient North Indian military, spiritual and philosophical traditions. The amazing stories of the almost mythical military prowess of the early Sikh warriors and their struggle against oppression and foreign invasion has been retold many times. Here, for the first time, you can see for yourself fascinating glimpses of the reality of how they lived and trained. You can also begin to understand the spiritual and philosophical underpinnings that ensured that they placed the virtues of dharam (justice), daya (compassion) and daan (charity) before yudh (battle).
