  1. That's sooo true and it's looks sooo gay... And soo stupid.. must be the bolly style.. And about drugs it's true.. things are getting worse.. One of my cuzin is hooked too.. :D
  2. Winston Churchill and most all wealthy Brit Businessguys/traders etc.. all had sikh bodygaurds during the 19th century all around the world (singapore/malaysia/china/hongkong).. Sikhs are the only trustable and loyal friends of many different communities.... Even judges of colonial india used to trust on any Sikhs sooo much that they even gave their decisions/rule just base on their trust on Sikhs on many cases.. As about deep veerjees.. comments on Indira body gaurds.. i think that shows the case of Sikhs trust and loyality toward sikhi and community justice B) ... Even Saddam had very close sikh friends.. (His carepentar) and with his request he lifted the ban on the only sikh gurdwara in iraq.. Thanks for the link
  3. Those who gave away their life for freedom.. They did it for their Community. It's not necessary that they HAVE to be religious quality.. Udham singh.. i don't know what he did.. but i respect him whatever he did jee.. But if he wasn't a propa sikh just like Bhagat singh, then why force to name him as a propa sikh.. .. Yes they fought good and Did brillant that not common person can or have guts to do.. but they don't have to be named as khalsa or good religious person.. It's really rare for a person to have all qualities.. Sorry for going off topic.. but this is what i think.. just 2 cent of my stupid brain.. B)
  4. Nah.. jeee i did nothing.. It's all guru's kirpa.. I don't know where it got published.. reporter sent me the news in email after he published in some newspaper..
  5. WOOOOHOOOO>> IT includes my town toooo Are you "Gurmukh" id.. comeing along with tour too?? cauz i would really love to meet u guys... Thanks
  6. I knew that reporters gonna find this soon.. Some singhs knew it before and they tried their best to keep this new twist as a low profile.. That stupid guy did sooo much damage to sikh community nationwide.. I would request singhs/kaurs not to spread this news anywhere.. cauz it will damage our image more...
  7. As everyone is probably aware the religion figures for the 2001 UK census were released a few months ago. Last week a more detailed report was released which breaks down the figures for religion into ethnicity as well. These figures are available here -; http://www.statistics.gov.uk/downloads/cen...01/S104_E&W.pdf One of the most interesting revelations in these figures for Sikhs in the number of Sikhs amongst the non-Asian ethicities. An important point to remeber with these figures is that the ethicitity question is not related to nationality or country of birth. 1. There were 6,893 Sikhs who were white. This figure is amazing given that there has not been any organised attempt by Sikhs to propagate their religion amongst the British. The figure for Whites who are Muslim is 179,773. On the face of it this figures appears to show the strides made by Muslims in converting the white people, but total given for whites in further broken down into British and Irish categories and other White. There are 63,932 British and Irish whites who were Muslims. The Other white figure includes all the Kosovans, Albanians and Bosnians who are classified as White but are not converts. So it is certainly a amazing fact that whereas Muslims with all their resources have only been able to convert 10 times the number of whites as Sikhs have. The Muslims have virtually unlimited resources but the Sikhs have neither cared for nor actively sought converts from the white population. There has been no organisation as the Sikh Dharma of Yogi Harbhanjan in the UK. This is what makes the figure of 10:1 so a mazing. 2. Whereas the fact that there are white Sikhs in the UK is known to some in the Sikh community, the numbers for other ethinicities is even more revealing. There are 617 Black Sikhs belonging to Black African or Black Caribbean ethnicities. There were 346 Pakistani and 113 Bangladeshi Sikhs and 79 Chinese Sikhs. 8. Khuleee (open) beard looks awesome.. No question asked.. Okey.. now i mite sound really stupid by saying this.. but i really wanna know.. If sikh are not supposed to tie their beard.. then why tie their head hair? Why not just let it the way the nature wants.. rite? I mean we use conditioner, oil, massage etc.. Why? How beard Gel is different than Hair Oil ?
  9. Real sikh warriors are those who gave their skull/head but never agree on cutting their hair..
  10. Even clinton admitted that it was the govt job.. I was in georgia when this incident happened.. And clinton was on Fund raising tour in Georgia after he came from india.. 7 singhs of Georgia sangat went to the Fund-raising dinner of a local congress lady and clinton was chief guest of that event.. While giving the speech.. Clinton saw 7 sardars on the table and he went lil off from his speech and said.. "Im very pleased to see sikhs here.." and Regarding the Incident of 40 (?) sikhs of kashmir.. he said.. "I know that it happened cauz of me being there and i know who are responsible for that.. and he said something more.. NOW my question is that the congress lady is african-american and there were lots of African-American muslims in that room so it would be really stupid of clinton to say that muslims are responsible for that crime.. BUT he really meant was that it was the work of indian govt... And he meant by that.. Effect after his speech : No singhs get denied for tha refuge case in US.. It's still going on...
  11. i think singhs/kaurs like us (YOU) need to go around and try to act as a missionary.. of course during the holidays & of course it will be non-profit.. Why not go around other states like GEORGIA or other countries like Latin America or even rural areas of punjab and give the lesson of the sikhi to the ones who does not have access to the materials of sikhi.. like books, internet etc... Of course it will cost ya ur time and money and maybe ur parents will say.. "U gone wacko".... but just imagine what the post effect it will be on our community.. I said give it a try.. Im into it.. i don't care... even though i know nothing about sikhi but still i can give it a try.. maybe i will give some info on sikhs in world wars and history stuff like that.. Anything is possible.. but just need to drag singh/kaurs like you and put into the missionary work.. (jk about dragging part) what ya think?

"mentioning of Universe/space system in Guru granth sahib ji" before the world came to know about it later on... etc... OR A documentary on Sikh War History.. Covering the period of 100 yrs from the fall of Raja Ranjit singh till the year of 1947... that will be good..
  14. SGPC website hacked for a day Gurpreet Singh Mehak Fatehgarh Sahib, July 10 Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) website sgpc.net was hacked for the whole day on July 5. Rajesh Mehra , owner of ePurab , who has designed and hosted SGPC website informed this correspondent today that the website was hacked around 10.10 AM on July 5 and within minutes the matter had come to the notice of SGPC authorities . He said only within three minutes the website was under the control of SGPC and objectionable words were immediately deleted. Informing about the hacker , Mehra said it was hacked from a online college of Karachi based S. Abhas Noorni. He said the flag of Turk was put on the website and some English words also used, which could understand . He said pro khalisatan slogans were also put on the website. He said now firewall has installed on SGPC website which will tell immediately if any unauthorised person tried to access the website. Vicky Singh, who is associated with website sighsangat.com informed this correspondent that the Discussion forum part of the SGPC website was hacked for a day and he immediately informed it to SGPC authorities , who took action within an hour and pulled the forum along with site off. Vicky Singh took couple of screenshots of the hacked forum site, which could be viewed at his website sikhsangat.com by going to General section (First). He said the image can also be seen on http://web.njit.edu/~ksk7/sgpc_hakd_jul5.jpg . This correspondent tried to acces s the Discuss forum of the SGPC website for the last four days but only today it was accessed otherwise it appeared on the computer that ‘the page can not be found.’ Commenting on hacking of SGPC website Prof. Gurpal Singh, Head Department of Computer Science and Engineering said that it is very unfortunate to see SGPC website being hacked by some unscrupulous crackers. He said SGPC has done really a commendable job by hosting a very good web site and earned public applause but it is also their duty to make it secure to prevent such things in future. He suggested that one way out is to use open source GPL software which are inherently more secure by designed in addition to being cost saving as well. He said web site administrators should also keep continuous vigil on various vulnerabilities and find patch for them as security is not a one time job. When contacted SGPC President Kirpal Singh Badungar he said it is a serious matter and he will look into this matter. Photo: A screenshot of SGPC hacked website.
  15. Sorry if i did offended anyone by my views.. :T: There are two things.. Rules : THere is Sikh Rehat Meryada and rehatnamas from our gurus which says what sikh have to follow to be on the path of being a gursikh. Most of the time people find it difficult to follow the rehit and will excuse "Time changes etc. In this case if you following the rehit but within your mind you does not believe that this is rite thing to do, then it's no use of him/her following the rehit. For ex. if one is keeping his/her hair just to please his/her parents is different than keeping the hair at his/her own will.. Your Choice : Yeah.. If you think bleaching/cutting/waxing or whatever is right then go & do it :D but don't say or think that doing that is all okay with sikhi, cauz it's not.
  16. WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa, WaheGuru Ji Ke Fateh Received a recent telephone call from someone who works in the BBC, about the possibility of making a 1.5 hour long TV programme on Sikhs. The person has requested ideas on the subject matter to be covered - possibly something new, which has not been done before. Please let us have your ideas by Friday, 11 July 2003. 17. wjkk wjkf URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL SIKHS WANTING TO LEAD HEALTHY LIVES With the bid for 2012 Olympics off the ground, Sikhs are encouraged to support the case for London by logging on to Londonolympics2012.com and registering their support. If Sikhs truly want to be accepted as legitimate stakeholders they need to at least show willing - this is not saying Sikhs should assimilate, just integrate. Participation in sports comes from the cornerstone of SIE policy development for Sikhs in the UK - in pursuance of this ideal, an extract from the Sikh Commission document is reproduced below. "Social Policy Development - Framework Agenda While it is possible to come up with a long list of specific areas of interest to discuss, it is felt that by selecting a smaller number of broad policy areas which encompass the specialist subjects a wider participation can be achieved. These broad subject/topic areas could take the form of plenary sessions feeding into the overarching theme of 'Living in Britain'. The recommended subject/topic areas are: 1 Youth Development - promoting Sikhi, learning the language, history, etc. resource/mentor pools (teachers, youth workers, etc.) 2 Faith/Spiritual Issues - key tenets, SGPC maryada, adoption/adaptation the role of the Gurdwara, etc. 3 Gender Equality - representation, professions/careers, marriage, balancing values responsibilities and roles 4 Sikh Culture/Sports - distinction between spiritualism and way of living, promoting maintaining or abandoning? 5 International Dimension - links with th e homeland, USA / Canada / Australia / Far East /Europe, etc. 6 Living in Britain - getting involved in political and social issues, elderly, integration or assimilation ?, multi-faith networks, education, cultural identity, unity, setting up of a broad breadth think tank etc. Three questions could be addressed in each of the above: (a) Where are we now ? (B) Where do we want to go ? © How are we going to get there ?" We have many talented youngsters and even elders (Fauja Singh, Amrik Singh and Ajit singh to name but three), unfortunately, the other 699,997(?) could do more to help themselves overcome the heart, liver and other respiratory health problems. SIE has therefore engaged with the Amatuer Athletics Association of England (AAA-England) through its London Region to progress this issue. The following is copied from their publicity material and shows how individuals/groups can benefit. "The Sikh Community & Athletics - getting involved! England Athletics is very keen to reach out to the London Sikh community and we have formed a partnership with Sikhs in England to help us achieve this. Athletics has a variety of opportunities for all sections of the community to get involved in. Being involved in athletics doesn't only mean being a track and field athlete. Although, this area of the sport does attract many, lots of people are also involved in the sport as a coach, official or administrator. They may take part in many of the other athletic type activities such as cross-country, running for fitness and fun or even tug-of-war. Getting involved can offer numerous benefits to the individual. It can become a crucial aspect of a healthy lifestyle, but equally important it can also offe r great opportunities to socialise. The sport is organised so that everyone from participant to helper can achieve and progress themselves. Whether you are 8 or 80, there is something athletics can offer you. Previous experience is not necessary and there is sure to be some activity going on near you. To find out ways in which you can get involved look at the London athletics website at www.londonathleticsforum.org or telephone the office on 020 7473 2080. Alternatively, we have linked up with Sikhs in England representative, Harmander Singh who would also be delighted to hear from you. What's on offer? For Individuals: * Competition * Fitness and fun * Social * Coaching * Officiating * VIP * Volunteering * Young officials award * Performance pathways * Talent identification For Schools * Sportshall athletics * Equipment * Teaching guidance * Shine Awards/English Schools * Competition * Cross-country * Higher education * Cross-curricular themes For Clubs: * Development plans * Child welfare * Funding * Clubs Future programme * Competition * Girls/Women * Disability * Cross-country * Road running" Please note the reference to Girls and Women, the AAA and SIE consider them equally worthy of participation - whatever any Sikh Authority(?) decides when interpreting Gurbani. Harmander Singh can be contacted on 07958 94 6868, harmanders@yahoo.co.uk or talk2us@sikhs.org.uk. PS - Anyone, organisation or business wanting to sponsor the Sikhs from UK who are going to run in the New York Marathon on 2 November 2003 need to register their support via talk2us@sikhs.org.uk. At least five Sikhi roop Sikhs are taking part to raise awareness of the Sikhi roop in the USA to help reduce hate crimes against Sikhs through mistaken identity. The five Sikhi roop Sikhs are to be joined by four/five others, two of whom are women. The cost to each of the particpants is £591 which includes flights, race fees, insuarance and coach travel to race start. Deposits of £200 each are due by 21 July 2003 and the balance four weeks later.
