  1. sori veerjee Mehtab Singh jee only came across your post this morning if not i would have commented on it earlier.and i agree with you of course about no jaat paat in Sikhism. As to the source of your tuuk ill see if i can locate it. There are however lots tukka on that in SGGS too as u know . My 1st lesson on jaat paat came wen i was about 7 or 8. i had written to the sikh missionary society in singapore to send me some pamplets and tracts on Sikhism but in my letter, after singh i put my family surname. The gursikh who sent me the parcel of books and tracts wrote a covering letter telling me there is no jaat paat in Sikhism and told me never ever to use my family surname after the word singh and i adhered to that ever since . Of course as i became amritdharee later and learnt Gurbani i realised why . I am so excited that you share Sikhi with others . Just ask my help if you need me send you any books ,tapes etc to share with others as i can help you in that .
  2. Whatever the reason may be, conversion to Sikhi should be a matter of truly realising the beauty and power of Sikhism. Sikhism is not a numbers game but a game of love with Gurujee. The power of being a Sikh should be that you are so inspiring and magical as a Sikh that people in your life are magnetically drawn to Sikhism through you. Its not about needing to debate and argue ,its about a Sikhi jeewan(life and lifestyle) and mindset that is tremendously attractive to people who come within your radar.
  3. wow! so very inspiring to know you were pulled out of the well and blessed Gursikhs being sent into your life . how very lucky you have been ! bless . hope you do the same to millions of others no matter their caste or race or colour . may Gurujee use you to spread sikhi even better than Gyani jee who inspired you. .
  4. your answer lies in singapore - ,the main gurudwara there called katong gurudwara . they initiated a systematic recording of kirtan long before much of everybody else. well known fact amongst most kirtan enthusiasts. they have a fone number you can track down .you may need to visit to get into the nitty gritty but should be a nice trip as you have very inspired Sikh Sewaks there.
  5. Since you have met him, know his website, and you also know of SNSM, than, my suggestion is you email all these people to get proper detailed clarifications and how some of these issues are being resolved. That will help you make a better judgement, beyond what i have mentioned. If you do that, please also try get a written statement from him as to which piloting school he went and where. Thats the best way forward. As to you saying that he 'may or may be not an aeronautical engineer'' ,had you read my first post on this topic i even mentioned the university he went to in bristol ,UK ,where he did a degree in aeronautical engineering, who he met there etc as i have been a very close acquaintance of him. Studying piloting is a different ball game. You can get confirmation from MAS(malaysian airline systems) that he was an aeronautical engineer with them from the late 70s till at least the late 90s or perhaps even now .I'm not sure if he has retired. If you are from Malaysia ,it should be common knowledge to you that he was an on-board aeronautical engineer. As for the SNSM ,again if you are Malaysian, you would know that this the main non-jethabandhi based Sikh Youth Organisation covering all of Malaysia, pioneeered in the 50s or 60s by amongst others ,the leading most senior gyani of malaysia and singapore at that time i.e Gyani Isher Singh ,the eminent senior foreign ministry official,Surjit Singh Besia etc. Its easy to sit at your computer ,pick up a couple of things, and just diss off people as fast as you can ,but the commonly known truth about SNSM is that it has done a whole amount of parchar ,welfare and social activities to help sikh youths in a harsh muslim environment. This has been recognised amongst even the senior leadership of Akal Takht. Of course only Gurujee is perfect, hence you can expect a few irregularities, but on the whole, this is a very respected and safe ,accountable ,transparent and respectable Sikh institution even recognised by the goverment of Malaysia. Its activities encompass sikh societies at schools ,colleges and universities, sikh youth camps , sikh youth satsangs throughout the major gurudwaras in Malaysia, lobbying the goverment for Sikh interests, and through the efforts of a Mr Hari Singh, they even were instrumental in setting up another organisation i.e the inter gurudwara consultative council that helps coordinate amongst the various gurudwaras in Malaysia . They also print out kirtan ,nitnem and other gutkas with english translation . They have also ventured out to help Sikhs in other parts of South-east asiasuch asborneo thailand and indonesia . I have mentioned a lot of facts in all my posts in this thread ,and names . Go through them carefully as they help you gain a good understanding of Sikhi in malaysia and ask me for more information if required. As for Sukhdev Singh, do write to him for proper clarifications. When you met him you must have found him to be a very pleasant, humble, educated and loving gursikh ,hence approach him ,remind him of your meeting, and tell him off if need be and you will find him regretful. At the end of the day there is one insider fact you need to know about him that is well known among malaysian sikh youth leaders ,i.e Sukhdev has a tendency to indulge in gimmicks that he soon gets tired off ,but overall he is a safe hand, hence he is best ignored as he not even some popular charismatic bloke . There are far more bigger players and rising stars, on the Malaysian Sikh scene and the problems Malaysian sikhs and gurudwaras face in malaysia are far more bigger. The name to watch, if u you wanna be inspired is a chardikela humble gursikh called Bhagat Singh( from airpanas ,setapak,KL,malaysia). A name not gone unnoticed even by the jathedar of Akal Takht.
  6. In the last few days lots stories are circulating about this channel suffering due to a lack of funds just after been started a few months ago. i just wanna share my opinion if it is of any value. I run a business as most you here alredy know. When i 1st started outin 1996, i was penniless but i knew i needed enuff money to make it run for at least the 1st 6 months, whatever happened so that in the meantime i could earn enough to pay the expenses for the next 6 months and so forth. So i borrowed from different places to the tune of about £10,000 or more ,which i duly paid back in 3 years and my business is still running after 13 years, and has since expanded. My point is, yes i am proud there is a sikh channel and etc etc. I understand its run as a charity too . However you dont just start something without proper financial planning then run into problems after 30 -50 days!!! thats very very bad planning . You know this is a media project thats going to be very costly. So, ahead, as you start planning to have such a channel ,rightaway you appoint an important team looking after finances . You draw into this team a bunch of people who are wealthy to start with. This team needs to have an objective of raising at least the 1st year's expenses . For that you draw up strategies ,you identify and target different sets of contributors. For example a huge conference coould have been held of all gurudwara presidents in UK and the jathedar of akal takht etc could have been invited where a financial committment is made from every gurudwara etc. Different sets of contributors too could have been paced to kick in at different stages, e.g the 1st year could have been set aside to build a large following of individual donors to follow an intial committment from gurudwaras and wealthier individuals. Further projects could have been set off in time to ensure a stable revenue. Thats how you do it ,not just something randomly that run under within 30 days. That sounds amateurish as much as it sounds honourable . One big reason khalsa won the moghuls was because all the main players/power brokers/warlords from every misl sat together in a big diwan and they took collective decisions. You cannot just have a tiny team of people kicking off a mega project of this size on their own initiative . You do need to work out the different sets of players you need to engage and you need to involve sikh leadership at all levels so there is common consensus for its success. it is not difficult but what it requires is strategy, direction ,focus and proper project management so a systematic methodology is adopted ,people organised into different teams and the whole thing becomes one success after another. I'm not even sure whether this channel was available on the different means of watching tv apart from satellite such as cable, internet ,freeview etc . Anyway lets hope lessons have been learned early enough ,the appeal for money is successful and sangat rallies together and Gurujee blesses this project. The wise thing would be do the following rightaway, 1) Have different teams of people looking after different areas .this would include a)finance b)accounting c)marketing and publicity d)technology and broadcasting e)admin f) program organisation . all of these teams would work in coordination and be answearable to 5 piaras overlooking the entire running of the sikh channel project 2) to organise a huge diwan rightaway of every sikh gurudwara/organisation in UK of their top brass ,where the main takht jathedars would pressure them to back this project financially ,get their cheque books out and write out their 1st cheques rightaway . 3) to be identifying , targetting , ringing around, writing to and contacting wealthy sikhs all over the world to quickly contribute to the project asap The support of individual donor families setting up direct debits is of course vital but that happens over time as people get used to switching to channel 840 and a sense of committment and responsibility slowly builds up. You cannot just set up a new channel and then expect everyone to start switching over to it and setting up direct debits immediately. That is a time consuming affair as the owners of punjab radio ,sukhsagar, amrit bani radio have all painfully found out over the past few years, at least thats what i have been told. Likewise, certain arrangements and window dressing can give access to public funds, apart from appointing certain individuals even non -sikhs as patrons, as well as fund raising activities such as dinners etc whilst ensuring these dont compromise with sikhi values. Most of all, such projects to succeed need 2 key ingredients, i.e a)to get all the jethabandhis and sangat behind you in support asap and above all, b)a lot of humble amritvela ardas with a lot,lot ,lot ,lot ,lots of big ,big ,big tears. Ggurbani says the cry of a humble ant in pain is heard better in heaven than the proud trumpeting sound of an elephant. One thing i have learnt is that Gurjee's kirpa is so unpredictable. Just on the day you are short of something and feeling dumped by God ,money can appear from sources you could never have thought of,again a lesson the main sikh radio channel guys have learnt through my observations. Money is a strange thing as i have learned in my business .it can exist in places you could not have imagined with your MBA degree ,it can melt before your very eyes but also manifest from unimaginable sources. Gurbani says an ant can become a king and a king can become dust, and in a split second a king into a pauper and a bankrupt into a king. Its all in the palms of the Master ,he gives as and to who He desires ,in whichever way He chooses. One thing is never to worry as stated in SGGS ,pg 955, ''Nanak chinta mat kero ,chinta tis hi hoe''. There it says God even looks after the creatures in the sea, provides their sustenance without them needing to barter and trade. And when all else fails as Shri Guru Arjan Dev Jee says then its time for total suurender ''meh sabh kich chorhh, prabh tuhi dheayah''. The organisers of sikh channel have to plan finances as if everything depends on their hard work ,but have to depend on Gurujee as if everything depends on Gurujee. Dont just ask people to give you money ,ask people to pray for your success. There are also rumours out there as to who really owns this channel and the wealth of that person. This should be put to rest by a clear transparent account of who owns it, and how its organised etc, the actual expenses incurred every month, what systems of accountability ,responsibility and financial transparency are in place, so there is confidence in financially supporting this channel. This has to be a sangat owned project with the signature approval of the main jethabandhis, sikh, community, socio-political and religous organisations, gurudwaras, and sangat .

  8. how to get rid of ''warn status'' appearing on left hand side everytime i make a post.
  9. They claim that Sikhi is a perfect creation from our Gurus (which of course no one doubts), but yet they feel the need to 're-trace, re-package, re-brand and re-market' Sikhi. To me this shows that they in fact, do not believe that Sikhi is perfect! I guess with all the pakhandi babey floating around, it was inevitable that one would pop up in Malaysia. Hopefully the sangat there starts to realise that what he is peddling by way of his philosophy is dangerous and total bakwaas. its more of a catchy gimmick than some real change in maryada etc, awkward as it seems even to me haha. he is not dressed up as a 'holy man ' but in full bana of which he is fond .i think he even used to wear khalsa bana to work . and he is not known as a baba ,but simply as mr or sardar sukhdev singh . i think you should have read what i wrote more carefully . he is not connected to no dera but ardent proponent of akal takht maryada which is the mainstream popular maryada followed in malaysia as there is very little of akj/damdami taksal/3ho/nanakseria influence in malaysia . i know that he sometimes can say and do things which are awkward but he is part of the youth khalsa network there which always puts him straight. if u were to know him as i did in the past he is just a simple straightforward well loved amritdhari sikh putting in his 2 pence for sikhi parchar. He is an english educated gentleman with no interest to start any new maryada . you would realise that if u flew to malaysia on the next flight . i knew him in the past and all i remember are sweet memories of him hosting and letting our panth's greatest preachers and ragi jathas to stay in his house during their tours of kuala lumpur ,malaysia . He is also a regular speaker and kirtanea at Sikh Nujawan Sabha annual youth samelans/ camps. He works closely with some of the main sikh youth leaders there such as surat singh ,hari singh ,malkit singh ,gyani mohinder singh, avtar singh etc . the source of the article against him as i have said before is a couple of persons who wish for all sikhi parchar to be done in pure punjabi not understood by most of the youths due to bad upbringing and get uncomfortable with sukhdev singh's gimmicky styles . this is a local sikh malaysian issue to do with parchar style rather than pakhandey babas . read more about the history of sikhs in malaysia ,the parchar of sikhi in malaysia , and you will catch what i mean.you can also visit the sikh naujawan sabha malaysia website which is a good source of malaysian sikhi related information . if you understod the politics of malaysia and how the muslim goverment there as well as pentecostal christian missionaries there target sikh youths there apart from drug and alcoholism and a big patit puna problem ,as well as hindu swamis popular with many sikh families there you would be appreciative of all the efforts young professional sikhs there take to pool their resources and do sikhi parchar. Bhai sahib, you have not addressed the key points of: a) why is he doing things in the video that looks like the sathya sai baba would do b) what is he distributing in the chamcha I can understand that perhaps parchaar need be modified to identify with the local sangat, but this does not mean gurmat and rehit should be foresaken. Please provide your justification of the video and explain the chamcha 'ceremony' as shown in the picture. why ask me veerji or be quick to make conclusions and assumptions yourself.im not a forensic expert in analysing tiny details from some blurry shaky video neither was i there and neither the the fuller context of that video or picture . you have visited his website so why not email or message him and let the rest of us know his justification for this gimmicks. while you and me are still debating about him ,he has probably received a good sorting out from either his wife( bibi jaswinder kaur) or the Sikh Naujawan Sabha or senior members of his own kirtan jetha hahaaa . as i have told you sukhdev singh among the local malaysian sikh sangat is well known to land himself into silly trouble over little gimmicks for which he gets told off sternly either by his more head-wise educated wife or other sikh youth leaders and retracts . if you really knew much about the inside story of parchar in malaysia ,what im saying is what you would get to know haha .if you knew sukhdev singh as i did in the past he is definately no head strong baba type but more of a normal gursikh with a soft pussycat personality when confronted hahaha . Another sikh preacher over there who constantly lands himself in trouble is a guy called Khalsajee, a great preacher who has been responsible for a whole load of monas becoming amritdharees etc but on the other hand can never stop from inventing little maryada rules of his own which again gets him drawing swords with everyone else unnecessarily . At the end of the day ,the sikh population in Malaysia during the 2000 census was estimated to be ruffly 125,000. most of this is concentrated in the capital of malaysia ,i.e K.L , and spread out in other towns on the west coast with a little sprinkling on the east coast ,as well a further tinier sprinkling on the northern part of the island of borneo which constitutes East Malaysia . Hence everyone some how 'knows' and is connected to someone especially since jaat paat barriers and majha/malwa barriers started falling apart from the late 70s and 80s onwards. By this im implying its not difficult to sort out any local guy like sukhdev singh if he gets out of hand . Sikhs have been in Malaysia since around the last 100 years ,hence the bulk of sikhs there are not from a relatively newer migration unlike the UK and USA or Canada and Europe . And also because its nearer to India ,hence it has been a favoured hotspot and common stop over on the tour trail map of sikh parcharaks and ragi jethas . aAlso because of very relaxed visa rules in the past most of these parcharaks would stay in malaysia for months on end preaching and preaching and preaching . i remember listening to gyani maan singh chaur (whom i assume you know who he was) for months on end as a kid ,and i remember listenimng to dharam singh zakhmi's keertan jetha continously for 3 months every evening for 2.5 hours in 1977 and professor manjit singh for God knows how many months before he later became Akal Takht jathedar . This is not a brag . The point im trying to make is that the Malaysian Sikh sangat is not relatively unripe and raw ,easy to be prowled upon by babas local or international . the sikhs there are highly organised ,are relatively well educated and hence very less suscepsible to pakandey baba attacks . When the supposed nanakseria baba amar singh (whose is in hayes ,UK now) did his bad stuff in malaysia ,the sikhs there did not wait for the Akal Takt to move . Rather they got together under the leadership of the late Surjeet Singh Besia and Gyani Isher singh jee and managed to get the immigration department to ban him from visiting malaysia and singapore as well as procured a written apology from him . btw he was not a former pilot for your records but an aeronautical engineer as i mentioned in my 1st post on this topic .
  10. has not set their status

  12. gurbani does ask us to chant continously WAHEHURU. '' har aradh na jana re,har har gur gur karta re'' and ''madho har har har mukh kehieh'' . Sugar is a physical thing by saying sugar, sugar wont materialise . But WAHEGURU shabad is God's name. Its means o Enlightener from darkness(guru), you are great(wah). Hence everytime we say Waheguru we are communicating ,talking with ,and praising God who listens and rewards us for clinging on to Him and his Name. WAHEGURU shabad is also Naam ,i.e it denotes/connotes God's power e.g ''naam ke dhareh khand brehmand''.Hence every one time we say WAHEGURU we are coming into contact with God's power which blossoms within us . That is why more you chant with understanding ,more you are getting into communion with God and soon Naam Raas or the heavenly nectar/essence very liquidy/fluid in nature, and in experience begins to flow within. You soon start to fill saturated with this magical raas and it startsto over flow. Suddenly your consciousness starts feeling less physical but more Godly, more cosmic ,more into the true reality. You feel less of you but more of the True Reality i.e God .The heaviness of the physical self leaves you and you feel as light as a feather. Likewise all yur weakness, your pains ,your depression leaves you and you start radiating joy, strength and confidence . Gurbani says as a person chants he/she starts to encompass the characteristics of the sun(splendour, brilliance ,power, shining, passion ,fire) as well as of the moon( calmness ,coolness ,tranquility) (SGGS page 952). As you continue spending some time of the night(amritvela) time chanting every night(habitually) you will find that less of you but more of God/ thecosmic energiser expresses through you everyday even making you super intuitive and more of a magical alchemist kinda person. So when bhai Gurdas says saying sugar does not make sugar happen, he is not saying dont repeat God's name. He is encouraging us to chant with understanding , to use it to communicate with God ,to live a life where your mind begins to appreciate the greatness of God ,which triggers your heart to be filled with God's praise ,that then overflowing into the tongue bursting forth with a loud WAHEGURU repeatedly ,which in turn causes your brain lotus to invert causing you to be released from the trap of maya and experience enlightenment and freedom. More importantly, you need to interpret that verse about sugar in relation to the whole of Bhai Gurdas's philosophy which was that without total dependence on Gurujeeand Gurujee's grace, you get no where with all your efforts. What i mean is saying sugar is a self created physical effort but saying Waheguru is connected to a bigger understanding about God and to a transformation that occurs concurrently in one's life and these three interrelated processes are set into motion and progress forward only through surrender and dependence to Gurujee who showers us with His grace. A good understanding of this point occurs in SGGS,page 947 .''kabir mehndi kar keh galiah.....'' There, kabir throws his hand up in the air in despair and laments that he has been grinding and grinding himself into a paste(making lots of spiritual efforts) but it has led him no where near enlightment . Gurujee in the next verse replies that all this grinding will only bear effort if it arises out of God's grace, not out of ego centric self effort.
  13. gurujee nu sishya dea vedia jaffiya pappiya bohath hi mithia,ao menaieh guru pyaar dea rang relia ateh khushiah ateh naal hi khaieh ral keh methia ateh barfiah .eh gal sun keh sariah bhena hesia ateh pyaar nal vethia. haha now thats me being silly on a sunday evening as my heart gets joyous, listening to illahi ras bhina kirtan rite now on sikh channel in the background .
  14. gr8 idea .all my dearest darling brothers and sisters all in one place at the same time .sounds like heaven .very very kissable idea .we could even visualise having one big group fateh and hug. ''satsangat kesi janieh, jitheh eko naam vekhanieh''. ''har sache takht rechaya, satsangat mela. vich sangat dhoee na lhen ,manmukhi duhela''.
  15. Dreams are not all the same . different dreams have different origins . hence you need to either disregard either all your dreams or if you are curious you need to differentiate them ,understand their origin and then you can work out which to trust . During the day, our mind like a camera is taking in pictures and video shots of people ,places and events . this is being stored in our short or long term brain memory . likewise all our thoughts, words and deeds are being recorded in our mind . when we sleep , we kinda lose conscious control of our minds. thats when all these various images mix and match beyond our control and produce little dramas in our minds that we remember the next morning called dreams . the majority of our dreams especially in the early cycles of our sleep belong to this category and are best ignored no matter how convincing as its just brain memory being replayed in all sorts of arrangements of the images still active in it . as our mind slowly gets into deeper states of sleep (like delta/theta) we spend most of the rest of the night in a dreamless state once the clutter has been cleared . Another origin of dreams is the influence of chemicals that cause the brain to draw on its short and long memory and create dramas i.e dreams( while we are sleeping and the brain is in autopilot state). such chemicals are in drugs like hallicunogens/anti depressents/tranquilisers/ party drugs like hash, acid , ketamin or mdma and even in choleresterol lowering drugs such as statins . again if a person is on such drugs e.g simvastatin for controlling choleresterol or even cocodamol amorphine based painkiller ,you can disregard your dreams and nightmares . The third origin of dreams are certain emotional or physical requirements in your body that are not been met ,hence triggering a signal to the mind that expresses itself as a dream to encourage you to fulfill that need upon awakening . e.g you may not been eating adequately and sleeping on an empty tummy and your dream will involve you being in a supermarket or being fed by your mom or wife etc . its the brains way of compensating your need during your sleep . it may be a need you are or are not aware of . a load of wet dreams can either mean you have been thinking of sex and not God , or that you need to be getting married very soon according to your biological and other needs . sometimes needs needs you repress can manifest in dreams . As a general rule you find that more simran you do ,more kirtan you listen or do ,more paath of gurbani, katha etc begins to reduce the clutter of endless thoughts and imaginative, fantasised and captured imagesin your mind . this then starts reducing your dreams .also gurbani and gurmat and sikhi tend to help you to refashion your outlook ,make you fearless ,calm ,confident ,redirects your focus, helps you be patient ,not clamour for things and hence your dreams tend to get less and less because your mind is getting more ordered and more of God's pure light isshining in your mind . less worries ,less attachment and less fear and less quarrels and jeolousies generally calm down your mind and reduce your dreams and produce more pleasant beautiful dreams . However, as you are more and more into Sikhi , your dreams start becoming based on your new lifestyle so you may dream you are doing kirtan ,matha tekking and crying at Gurujee's feet ,giving akatha ,etc etc etc . This isbecause yourdreams are changing according to your new feed . On the other hand God is great . He can use your dream state to give you visions ,tell you about the future , or warn you of impending dangers etc . He can even allow you see a live video of what is happening to the soul of someone who has died ,in your dreams As a Sikh you will slowly learn to differentiate between all these types of dreams and you will begin to work out which are heavenly . Some kirtaneeas keep a voice recorder near their bed . When they awake right after am dream where they were in heaven listening to kirtan ,they immediately quickly sing that tune and shabad into their recorder and go bak to sleep and wen they do kirtan next they replay that and prepare a shabad to be sung to that tune . A very good tip is to always do kirtan sohela prayers before sleeping . the more prayers and simran you do before sleeping the better . you get fewer nightmares or none and you increase the chances of heavenly dreams ,messages and warnings and going to heaven in your dreams ,meeting gursikhs past ,present and future in your dreams etc .
  16. i checked their website and etc but cannot find 1)anything about the normal full works amrit sanchar being done single handedly 2)that this guy allows himself to be called a baba 3)anything about jyot etc . could you please substantiate these claims because from my sources of information this guy( sukhdev singh) is a person who studied aeronautical engineering at bristol,UK in the 70s ,met an AKJ gurskh there called mukhtiar singh, hence got involved with akj ,laters got further inspiration from 3HO ,damdami taksal ,saint scholar sant baba naranjan singh patiale wale, etc --thus widenining his scope of understanding Sikhi . Back in Malaysia he has been involved the last 30 odd years in the mainstream akal takt maryada based Sikh Naujawan Sabha , sikh societies at university and school level ,set up theworld's 1st Sikh band based on scottish bagpipes doing all that in the midst of hisbusy scheduleas an aircraft engineer. he together with a load of other inspired sikhs were responsible for curbing and arresting the decline of sikhi in the orthodox muslim country of malaysia where many young sikh youths were going wayward and even converting to islam and christianity ,apart from drugs and alcohol.these are solid facts . his wife jaswinder kaur ,is a dastaar tying bibi involved in a gurmat kirtan jatha who sacrificed a promising career as an accountant in order to do parchar apart from her involvement in an orphanage for abandoned sikh children . likewise his younger brother . from what i know ,in the past this guy's unconventional style has trampled on the toes of traditionalists who resist attempts to do innovative parchar suited to the younger generation to attract their attention . Most of the little changes he brings are kinda window dressing or repackaging basic gurmat in ways and means to captivate monas etc towards sikhi . and like any one of us he sometimes as a thinker speaks his mind like the way any of us express our revolutionary opinions but after all every gyani, sant, parchararak i have heard in my life do tend to have their own little quirky opinions about things haha for which we dont 'hang them on the cross'. anyway i do not like taking sides or showing favours but as elsewhere .so in malaysia once you are in the public eye you do tend to get criticised and things you do say or do tend to get exxagerated and taken out of context . in that youtube video for e.g he is seen to be making some sort of physical contact like kinda giving a touch of healing to ppl who otherwise would be headed to a hindu swami(which is a serious problem among sikhs in malaysia) ,as a way of ushering them back to faith in the power of a sikh to heal(through gurujee's kirpa) as well as back to SGGS . In my little life too when people come to me i show Sikhi love ,maybe place my hand on an affected area of pain and make ardas in my heart to Gurujee to bless them ,and give them a simran cd /sukhmani sahib translation to get close to Gurujee . I dont think that means im transgressing but rather helping people of any race to have faith in Gurujee. if indeed this guy has transgressed than much more substantive prove is required rather than some article exposing a person's misdeeds without substantiation. im no uncle or nephew of this guy , and i do not owe him any favours to need to defend him dishonestly , but i do happen to know first hand the personal record of this person ,plus through my many many many chardikela sikh malaysian contacts from various different jethabandhis at a senior level ,hence i ask for restraint and solid concrete prove before we accuse this person. Moving on, from my own personal experience, we in Sikhi do not have no goverments backing us financially to do parchaar of sikhi which indeed can cost . we have to draw from a narrow pool of resources whether it is a radio station ,tv station ,blog ,or website or sikh camps or kirtan gurmat tours . thus we cannot afford to be divided as our own leadership at the very top ,including those in charge of gurudwaras and takhts etc have proved totally ineffective and incapable to bring the panth into chardikela . A lot ofsikh youths wherever you go -canada,malaysia.UK,USA ,new zealand, australia , hong kong ,africa are involved in manmat stuff ,cannot read gurmukhi ,dont understand punjabi ,are weternised and use their surnames not singh or kaur . the traditional parcharr method of gyani maan singh chaur ,maskin, which worked well with punjabi speaking masses of the 60s and 70s ,doesnt work with younger youths . you need to be able to do parchaar in local languages ,you need to use modern forms of media, you need to get into changing socio-cultural mindsets , you need to put the message in new forms of expression ,you need to be creative ,innovative and when you do that you stand to be accused of deviating but we either stick to a traditionist modus operanti or be more intelligent and repackage the message in tune with changing times , in ways that are radical, and revolutionary . even in my own life i have to constantlly readapt and reinvent to make the business i own sucessful . my shop stays where it is but i move things around . i repakage products ,i create websites ,i change my staff and i focus on tapping on a greater number of customers . then in my personal life ,i keep abreast of the news , of the changing slang ,vocab and twang in language so i always appear relevant . my youngest employee is 18 . i always listen to his ideas ,his way of speaking ,because it helps me interact effectively with a bunch of 18yr olds that may suddenly come into my shop . gurmatwill not change because gurmat and sikhi are unchanging but how we present it needs to change if we want to be instruments for the parchaar of Sikhi amongst all races ,unless of course we wanna keep sikhi as an elitist thingy , the hidden secret of a few dedicated favourites of God while everyone is domed for hell . but im reminded of the gurbani verse''raj raj bhojan khao mere bhai ,khavoh kherchoh tot na avei'' which makes me think and be committed otherwise
  17. the difference between buddhism and Sikhism is best spelt out clearly in the book Parasprasna by kapur singh in the opening chapters
  18. its over now .basically this guy does live experimental electro ambient music . a norwegian white guy who is slowly coming into sikhi ,very close friend of mine .wanted me just sing some gurbani verses and simran as he performed live . its a break from my usual style of kirtan with harmonium and tablas . that stream was being heard by a whole load of non sikhs into that kind of music around the world . may Gurujee's bani be a seed planted in their souls .
  19. in 15 minutes time, ill be performing a live broadcast of very very experimental chilled ambient music ,singing very gently simran and gurbani with another friend who will be blending that live with ambient electro music on a website called electro-music.com if u are interested to tune it .london time 10p.m-12p.m -2 hoors (friday ,24july 2009)
  20. Gurujee's order is to regard other women apart from your mother as your 'mothers' and others daughters as your own daughters. Keep your path straight ,focus on Sikhi objectives and dont mess up in dodgy situations and you will be a happy person. Turn not to people when lonely but do simran ,and dont manipulate and use people for your needs but surrender your needs to Gurujee. This man was a businessman. I too run a business. I probably employ lots more young people than him. My policy is simple - Gurujee put me in business to do kirt de kemai and vand ke shakna and treat others(staff members and customers) as my dearest brothers and sisters and children, love them ,pray for them ,guide them ,introduce Sikhi in small bits to them .In short i'm Gurujee's embassador and slave put where im placed to serve and worship Gurujee. This guy is a let down to all those who work so tirelessly to make others realise Sikhs are defenders, saints and the sincerest, most caring ,most humble and most pure hearted of people with no ulterior motives, who live simple clean lives, are not manipulative or conniving, and can be trusted 101%. In UK there are loads more such people who say they are sikhs but run businesses to fuel a materialistic lifestyle. A few years ago a young wayward sikhuniversity student from birmingham accepted/adapted me as his 'elder brother' . He was from a very very wealthy Sikh family in Birmingham. He told me his dad's birthday was in a few weeks times. So, i suggested why not arrange a surprise satsang for his dad . We called the granthis from the Sparkhill Gurudwara and they were very very pleased with the ideas, promised they would be happy to make some degh and bring it to the house and sit with the family and perform Sukhmani Sahib as well as kirtan for free at no cost . However the moment the dad found out his son's plans he got into a rage, put his foot down that no such satsang would take place . Instead a huge party was organised involving food, booze, dancing ,bhangra and djs and a marquee and dance stage!!!!!! A total of £10,000 was spent on this party. I fear to think what dargahi punishment awaits such successful looking people who dont realise all those houses ,cars and money are nothing but highly inflammable super thin straw .
  21. I am absolutely hankari to, thats why i keep gettinmg nightmares of asteroids hitting me too tho there is very little left to deface as im alredi very horribly ugly
  22. we all know jassika's intentions and objectives hahaaa! I hear, she just wants to cause a mere little stir, over here, so we all get into gear! and attend her wedding ,my dear (o that rhymed well! hahaaa) Since we are on the subject of brothels lemme tell u a true but funny story. Many many years ago just as i graduated, i moved out and rented the front ground floor flat of a building. My flat became a little hub of sikhi activities like me and me m8s doing kirtan together loads, loads ,loads. Some chinese girls lived in a big flat upstairs and i would see some nice cars parking outside occasionally, and in my innocence and naiveness i just assumed that these were their boyfriends picking them up for dating etc .Anyway, as a fresh graduate on my 1st job ,and with my flat being busy with us doing kirtan and stuff we didnt have time to bother or worry about this neighbours we had . I did however notice that some sehajdhari sikh guys in that area would be looking up( those girls flat) ,then glance down (my flat), whenever they passed by and give me strange looks and giggle amongst themselves. Never could guess why. Then, very very shortly within a few weeks those girls suddenly all cleared out and left and dissapeared. The landlord came to me angrily and said '' you have caused me a problem, because of you my chinese girls tenants upstairs flat have all suddenly left'' . i said ''why'' . He said its because that was actually a brothel they were operating upstairs and they had realised that the guy downstairs(me) was actually like a priest in his turban ,beard and all his other m8s too in their religous robes(bana). He said these ''priests ''(us) would start praying and singing very loudly from 3 or 4 a.m and all those prayers were ruining their businesss because all those prayers were putting off their clients and making them want to go home hahaaaaa .Those girls had also complained that, the sound of our drums( lots tablas) was very frightening and causing panic while they were trying to ''entertain'' their ''clients'' hahaaa So the landlord said to me 'well since you chased them away you better now rent all of upstairs' . Wow, thats exactly what we needed-a bigger space. When we went up the 1st time, o dear indeed that had been a brothel!!!! there was tons and tons of takeaway boxes and empty lager bottles, etc etc . Strangely enough there was no bad smell at all. I got to learn these girls apparently pay for evil spirits that mask every bad odour as an enticement to seduce clients . Anyway, we cleared up the whole place thoroughly, got it repainted and washed etc and moved up. We started doing simran ,nitnem ,paath, kirtan even more than before. One night, i had a beautiful uplifting reassuring dream/vision in which i saw Shri Guru Nanak Dev jee just floating/walking up the stairs, entering into the flat and blessing it . That area had no gurudwara so some of the older matajis took a set of our keys so they could sit together in the huge prayer room we had sat aside and do Sukhmani Sahib in the afternoons and join us for Raehraas when us guys returned from work . They would even cook for us treating us as their own sons. So, a brothel turned into a local ''Gurudwara'' magically . The local Sikh community would gather for satsangs in this place for sangrand ,puranmashi kirtan plus youth kirtan every friday . This continued till i moved elsewhere . The presence of a gurmukh in a community, work place, or family can be far more meaningful, magical and mesmerising than we normally realise .
  23. hahaha no no i wuldnt run a mile if u look dodgy! i wuld get mi kirpan out n sort n straighten u up hahaaaaaaa chances are tho that ill see Gurujee's noor shine on ur face and want to hug you as my blessed bro.
  24. maybe the guy with''gole blue dastaar'' is just feeling 'cinderella'' shy and playing hard to get hahaaa . he might 'crack up'' if u tried hard enuff hahaaaa . or maybe he was just too sleepy or zombied after a long nitnem and hours of simran haha or maybe ''Bundha'' somehow looks dodgy hahaaaaaa
  25. well said! a good thorough reading of RAMKALI MEHLA 1 ,SIDH GOST (p938-946) helps distinguish between the physical and Naam/Shabad realms, their characteristics and origins
