  1. What operating system are you running it on?
  2. I've never understood why people simply click that + or - rating thingie. If you don't agree with me, at least have the maturity and decency to voice your opinion rather than just hitting the rating button. :rolleyes2: Now go ahead and give this post a negative rating too :rolleyes2:
  3. While I agree that staring is bad, I myself find it very annoying, but I agree 100% with what S1ngh said. People simply don't know cultural norms in another country. For instance, right before my family moved to Canada, we were told to buy lots of Jeans and a couple of leather jackets for the cold. Those days, skin tight jeans were all the craze in India. So here I was in Canada, with no friends, wearing skin tight jeans (which were very uncomfortable btw) with a leather jacket. I looked like a hybrid cowboy+biker gang member! :rolleyes2: Case in point, don't assume anything and go have a chat with them.

    Sanjog

Sanjog is like hukam. As Guru sahib says in JapJi sahib, 'hukam na kahea jaee' (hukam can not be described)
  5. A lot of us were 'smart' in high school and got grades. The thing is, when you get to University, you realize that everyone is 'smart'. It makes sense really because at that level only the 'smart' people get through. So while you were 'smart' in high school, does not mean you will be 'smart' in uni as well. As put 'smart' in quotes as smartness is measured in a relative fashion. So, have you tried forming/joining a study group for help?
  6. ^ oye maheeney ch kush ni hunda. menu 2 saal lag gey si! :laugh2:
  7. One thing no one has mentioned is that if the age gap is rather large, then there is a potential that things can start to fall apart as you get older. Thing about the limitations an aging body imposes upon you. If the age gap is 10years, younger of the two might want to be more active or do things that the older simply can not do. You'd be surprised how much stress that can impose on the relationship.
  8. Careful now, if you keep saying this you might end up with a bad back yourself to see first hand what the BS is really all about sometimes karma has a rather strong way of keeping us in check.

    Amrit Vela

The single best thing you can do to help you wake up at amritvela is to go to bed early. Everyone needs different amounts of sleep, some people can do with 5, some need 8. It's easy to find out what your body needs (at least for now), go to bed early without setting an alarm and see how long you sleep before waking up. Of course this will depend on other factors such as how tired your were, and quality of sleep etc. But I find that to be a good way to determine the typical time your body needs to rest.
  10. Way to make a blanket statement :rolleyes2:
  11. I admit, I spoke too soon! :rolleyes2:
  12. I'm not really sure why you've started a thread when it seems you have already convinced yourself that you can not live without him. I just hope that some events unfold which stop you from taking steps which in all likely hood will ruin not only your life but that of your loved ones as well. PS. I didn't think I was thick either when I was mere 20 years old. Now at 27 years of age, I look back and see how stupid and foolish I really was back then. I'm sure at 35 I will look back and see how stupid I was at 27 and the cycle will continue... PPS. There is absolutely nothing anyone can say you to provide any help. You have dug this hole yourself and only you can figure out a way out of it. They key is not to forget that you can come out of it. Perhaps others can shine a light to make you see a path, but in the end you have to walk toward it yourself.
  13. I admit, I'm back :biggrin2: Thank you my dream fairy :happy2:
  14. ^ Erm you don't want to insult balait. He's the all powerful admin and can do whatever he wants
  15. By that logic, how many so called guru's turn out to be just as human as all :-) Too many so :rolleyes2:
  16. I admit, when my alarm rang this morning, I yelled at it because I thought it was the weekend :rolleyes2: I think most of us need to get our acts together. But very few do. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sodarshan+kriya :tongue2:
  17. Wrestling is one of the best things you can do to develop overall body strength. My dad tells me that in the old times people didn't do any specific exercise. They did hard labour all day so no specific exercises regime was needed. If anything, things like pushups, squats and pullups was all that was done. I used to be a gym rat for a couple of years and I noticed that almost 85% of the people in the gym train incorrectly. They may look strong (have big muscles) but because they do only isolation exercises, they are quite weak. Mind you, they will still be stronger than the average person who does not workout at all. Isolation exercises are quite useless when it comes to building functional strength, things like bicep curls, tricep extensions, crunches, lat pull downs, etc. Basically, for the average person almost all exercises which focus on a specific muscle group are useless. Unless you are working toward a specific goal, for example, improving fitness for a particular sport you play. Now, here is a list of full body exercises everyone should be doing to build real strength - Squats - DeadLifts - Pull ups/chin ups - pushups - standing shoulder presses - balance work - stretching Most of these are quite technical so you would want to get trained on how to do them correctly before jumping into it. Always remember, you are working out to get strong and fit, not to build big bukly muscles which have absolutely no benefit. I leave you with a couple quote from a strength training coach with 30 years of coaching experience. :happy2:
  18. I admit, its amazing how much your surroundings can effect you, especially if they are on the negative side! aww. Well, I was just thinking yesterday that I have 2 options to fix myself. Either I start doing 5+ Anand Sahib Paath per day or I start doing Sodarshan Kriya. I know paath will work but I just can't get myself to start :rolleyes2: Sodarshan kriya has done wonders for me in the past so I might start doing it again. But only if I can get my lazy bum to start on it :rolleyes2:
  19. *sings* dil lai gai kuri gujraat deeeee :tongue2: sorry jio, no offense intended :smile2:
  20. zero :happy2: and no I didn't surprise myself :rolleyes2:
  21. Perhaps your definition of 'sant' needs to be rectified. BweI ry sMq jnw kI ryxu ] bhaaee rae sa(n)th janaa kee raen || O Siblings of Destiny, become the dust of the feet of the humble Saints. sMq sBw guru pweIAY mukiq pdwrQu Dyxu ]1] rhwau ] sa(n)th sabhaa gur paaeeai mukath padhaarathh dhhaen ||1|| rehaao || In the Society of the Saints, the Guru is found. 22. I admit...I need motivation big time, been slacking off in every aspect of my life I have been having chavanprash this entire winter, which is why i never got sick. I have a feeling that it was the food I ate because I was totally fine and woke up with sore throat the next morning. I fixed my throat with gararey, now it's just resha (balgam) in my head which is quite annoying.
  23. I admit, being sick sucks :sad2: Not sure how I managed to not be sick the entire winter but now that it's finally warm outside, I'm sick :dry2:
