  1. What you say is true, but realistically how many organisations have come forward and said “Yes” we acknowledge? So many, what’s been done? Nothing! that has any credible dent….the world keeps rotating we becomes dentists, pharmacists business owners, and the Gurdwara car-parks full of phat Mercs, that’s the only thing that has happened. We continue to pretend consciousness, but we turn in our subconscious mind. We need a reality check, of what we really are every single individual, sangath, community etc should at least be truthful to themselves. People don’t care what happened back in 1984 that’s also a reality as hurtful as that may sound it’s the inevitable truth, to some it was something that happened someplace else. Like you said some even deny it happened how sad is that? We have become comfortable in a sofa mentality we live off the backs of our ancestry their sacrifices, we live for the now surviving daily, but it is just surviving, future? We have a cause some have a separate homeland some this some that but there is no empowerment no real conscious movement. Even those that want change with AK47s how many Jawans are there left? More probably in Southall illegally as the self proclaimed military. And the ones that are left back in Punjab most would sell their family members just to come here…and some do. Punjab is flooded with religious this religious that, soon people are going to see that all this religion all these godly men yet no water, no food, and soon increasing poverty and a vast growing consumer middleclass. The rich are getting richer but its only a short spurt, poverty looms. We can no longer claim to be the bread basket because we aren’t and haven’t been for some time now. Self sufficiency has gone and the Punjab will need to rely on others for morsels of bread. Hardly anyone with two coins to rub together even bothers to toil in their own fields, every things hunky-dory, every ones fat and plump…..the calm before the dry storm.
  2. How many die daily in Iraq? and thats just one example I would suggest that the United States is the worst Human Rights Violator in comparrison to how many people are suffering and dieing daily because of U.S foreign policy and its never ending consumerism thirst. Plenty have come forward and proclaimed this and that in the last twenty odd years, yet I don’t see any pressure by the U.N on India, China, US etc. Its all pretty on paper but that’s it limitations. Money talks and that’s the bottom line it controls everything except the worlds rotation everything else above the crust in some way or another is controlled by wealth, money and greed. I suggest people in Punjab start drilling for oil so the U.S can invade, give us democracy and start the second Raj. Maskeen Ji once said a person greed is like the consuming fire if there where no oceans it would consume the world still it would not be satisfied. How very right he was.
  3. From what I have observed there appears to be an imbalance in the way people are growing mentally and physically. The Human being generally has needs social, educational, recreational etc etc. if we look at the basis of Human needs we understand primarily survival needs come first food, shelter, then social needs such as family, friends then factors like education work, earnings, leisure interests come in to play. I have found from what I have seen within the community that the general basis for stability and balanced growth is not happening for many reasons such as family, poor education, poor esteem needs and so on. Here I have seen how youngsters and more mature people latch on to a belief system because they feel this provides them with security and caters to their needs that are not being addressed in their relevant areas where they should be. Here we find people creating a mentality that they want, faith system that they want, Guru that they want and eventually the God that they want. Now this has become the individuals’ world it’s been customised for his or her needs, I think here we have the problem. I believe unless we start addressing the basics there is no point address spiritual needs. The mental and physical enhancing, social, family, education needs etc etc need addressing. Without physical and mental structure and firm rooting, Bagti itself can be dangerous.
  4. Actually there are only a handful of ELAEOCARPUS GANITRUS ROXB (Rudraksha) trees in the region of Himachel Pardes that are of any significance these are only known to a handful of Yogis. The nature of the tree is such that no birds or animals roost or live in it especially at night. The Rudraksha fruits or beads are only of any use if blessed by a Gurudev the rest sold commercially, handed out willy-nilly etc etc are just normal beads.
  5. There are some very talented and educated people here who are genuinely arguing both sides in an articulate manner, this is good and healthy. However we must be cautious of those who have other intentions and initially roped people in to this topic. If anything it is pretty clear that the legend of Bala is suffering from a Anti-Hindu mentality which seems all the rage amongst some here. Others faiths and beliefs need not be failures in order for Sikh to succeed.
  6. Terrorist or freedom fighter Inderjit Reyat did confess to making the bombs for Parmar, thus his sentence but claimed he did not know what their purpose was………I would think making bombs only had one purpose…..but apparently there are other genuine reasons for making them!…none actually come to my mind right now.
  7. For those that believe in his existence can only gain something, those that don’t have simply lost something.
  8. There is no conflict between freewill and Vahegurus Hukam. Hukam can be seen as divine law for all Sargun creation. Here it is happening and you are part of it, but because it’s happening in the background it not so obvious. Our everyday existence our situations that create emotional ups, downs, highs and lows etc etc everything that comes to us externally is also in a way hukam. We follow Rehit for example this is a different type of Hukam, here the Hukam is direct more personal more obvious this is could be the turning point away from where we may have been destined etc. How we deal with all concepts of Hukam is according to our freewill. Freewill is not controlled by anyone but us, the tendencies, desires that make up a part of our behaviour or what we call I. How “I” is made up is according Karma, fundamentally what you sow is what you reap “apai beej apai he khahoo”. My understanding here is the gift of freewill to be used fruitfully by obtaining consciousness and awareness in physical life by planting the seed we will reap the benefits, the fruits of our spiritual, temporal existence will benefit us towards salvation, mukti, liberation. If the Papi is committing Pap he too is gifted with the same freewill, he chooses his actions as we all do. However he too is subject to indirect and direct Hukam as we all are. hukmai andar sabh ko, bahir hukam na koai. nanak hukmai jai bujhai, ta homai kehai na koai. All are subject to His Will, and no one is exception. Nanak says: When man realizes His Will and adjusts accordingly, then his egoism die of itself changaaeia buraaeia vachai dharam hadoor karmi aapo aapni kai nairhai kai door. Good and bad deeds performed in life are examined by Lord of Justice (Dharam Raj) in the presence of the Lord. It is our actions, which keep us near or far away from the Lord.
  9. We cannot limit the terminology of “Hukam” by translating it to “His command” yes we agree everything in existence his via “His command” the problem is we then start to develop the mentality “We suffer because the LORD wills it” no this is not true, suffering is a Human condition, we create suffering because its our inability to handle the situation. This differs from pain, pain is a natural condition designed to tell you something physical is wrong. One could be in pain but it does not mean one also has to suffer, if one does it is totally of their own making. God as we say does not sit in the heavens picking and choosing who should suffer and who shouldn’t this is something we have developed.
  10. Bhagat Singh being an atheist is frowned upon because we or many of us in our own insecurities proclaim to believe in a Creator God as the correct thing to do, correct way to think and believe non-believers being incapable of any spiritual heroism and sacrifice. Bhagat Singh was a conscious human who sacrificed his life for freedom, for some of us the fact that he was not religious we cannot accept. All sorts of people and organisations try to monopolies on his legend. The term Atheist itself suggests a person who fundamentally cares only for his own right for existence his own survival, was this Bhagat Singhs mentality? He may not have believed in a creator God but he believed in the freedom of humanity the birthright of every human being. As important as God may be to us yet not having the same romance to stand on the gallows as he did, freedom was important to him, in a way that was his God. He truly believed in his cause and gave his life for it. How many of us here proclaiming to believe in God could do the same? There was no guarantee of conditional salvation in his ideology as we Godly religious people have in our religions. His was a selfless act truly worthy as a hero and a champion of freedom and humanity.
  11. As a blanket statement about all Sikh institutes I would have to say its not true, however as with all things, places and ideas there will always be those elements that look out for their own wellbeing before the genuine needs of others, that’s just the way life is unfortunately.
  12. If what you say is true this would imply three Sri Jaap Sahib, Sri Chaupae’ Sahib and Swayae’ of the five Banis recited for Amritvela or indeed During Amrit Sanchar Ceremony etc are not equal to each other?
  13. In Simple terms yes The law of Karma is Vahegurus Hukam, This means the way it works and is calculated. The compilation of Karma is down to you. Hukam, Karma and freewill are happening all the time. You don’t control Hukam, you do have a degree of understanding and control in regards to compilation of Karma and the ability to do something about it, and freewill is all down to you.
  14. The Girl was a Sixth-Form student at the local Greenford High School. She was of Somali descent and it is believed that she committed suicide because she was being bullied at school this has been confirmed my her mother. May Vaheguru give her attma peace that she could not find in life.
  15. They had similar problems in the provinces of Tamil Nadu but they were able to reverse the situation before it spiralled out of control as it has in the Punjab. One of the advantages they have is they are not so obsessed with consumerism as people in the Punjab are, their average income is about a third of an average Punjabi household they have considerably less wealth but they are healthier and generally a lot more satisfied with everyday life. Over the last few years vast areas have been reforested, I think they even made the Guinness Book of records on their reforestation drive. The drive really is back to basics with lifestyles, living off the land for their own needs and self sufficiency, hard work and nature is doing the rest.
  16. According to a friend who lives in the area a 19year old female jumped in front of a train.
  17. All you Lawyer guys if there are any on SikhSangat is there any chance of any legal action being taken like the WSO did in Canada , eg: Slander and so on????????? You have to be careful with that only because if the accused is going to be held liable but is able to produce evidence which backs up his claim although we may think its false propaganda one could argue that the resource was used in good faith and as tangible evidence this is what happened when people complained about the Channel Four documentary that showed Sikhs during partition in a very negative light. Unfortunately there is much baseless evidence; you only have to look at some of the stuff that gets posted here that reflects the mentality of a very small minority. The problem is that they portray themselves to be the voice and mouthpiece of the majority this has tarnished the reputation of the wider community by creating a very comfortable stereotype for an uneducated audience. The core of the problem and fuel for this situation is if you are pro-khalistani you’re a terrorist, fanatic if you’re anti you’re a Indian government sympathiser Hindu lover etc etc this system of thinking is really our own creation we have contributed more to this then any one else externally, if you really sit back and look at it I think you may be able to see what I’m talking about. The problem being egos are so inflated on both sides that very few are willing to find middle ground and very few are willing to work together and even fewer recognise this as a problem that they want to address. There is an argument for and against that can be debated in an educated manner and I’m pretty sure it would be more fruitful then what has happened in recent history with all the animosity the elders had for one another just being handed down to the younger generation. Fundamentally a change in backwater mentality to an educated cutting edge one debunks those like in this situation who are manipulating the scenario to suit their own agendas…the question is who will put their hand out first as a sign of collaboration?
  18. Funny isn’t it how school kids don’t learn about British Empire how it raped the subcontinent of its wealth and prosperity for over 200 years, Britain would be bankrupt twice over if they had to repay it today! yet we, our parents came here to work and not scrounge off the state and yet we face institutional racism because of our identity, the same identity that gave so many of our Braves buried in the graveyards of Europe , go and see it says “SINGH” “SINGH “SINGH” on those gravestones Fathers, Bothers, Husbands, Sons we gave so much and yet we get called “Taliban” “terrorists” these people uneducated and Neanderthal mentality and there are those amongst us here that want upnai to join the Army! Why? Because they say they get to know us, understand us! LoL don’t you think after over a hundred years of ruling the Punjab if they wanted to know and understand us they would have done so by now? jokers People need to stop <admin-profanity filter activated> kissing and get a clear prospective of what the reality is.
  19. The IRA has been responsible for more terrorist attacks on British Soil, More than any other terrorist organisation however you don’t see contempt and hatred towards White Catholics. Deep down this is really to do with prejudices and racism and I would even go as far as to say jealousies towards an emigrant group who has done rather well socially and economically whilst still maintaining their roots. The Brown faced white mans lackey here who obviously buffering his democratic pro western image, needs to understand is thugs in the streets only see brown whether it’s his or another person they don’t care they just want to harm. Also organisations such as the World Muslim Sikh Federation despite claiming to be torch carriers for human rights abuses etc are known by the intelligence agencies to be collaborators with certain elements of Pakistanis secret service the ISI who sympathise with Islamic terrorist groups and support them, a fact that Manmohan Singh Bajaj of Dal Khalsa often brags about! With people like this at the helm who also influence youngsters what do people expect from an uneducated and hostile pro-democracy media and general populous.
  20. The text is metaphorical as an enactment of those who Hide thinking they are hidden from gradual Judgement or allotment of their own Karma. The use of the name of the Archangel Azrael or Azra'il or Azra'eil suggests this versed this way as Azrael is described as the Angle of Death in the new testament which differs from the Archangels position in the old testament.
  21. Hukam is happening all the time, delicately life continues regardless of any interference. Someone dies, someone is born as surly the morning comes so does the night this is all life, all Hukam all indirectly happening. If there is a Birth close to you, say you have child or someone close dies, this is also Hukam but this time it is more obvious more close so you are more aware of it, feel it more, but this is also Hukam it is happening all the time. Karma is different. You are born your physical make up the way you look etc is influenced by the physical encryption by your parents. But those tendencies or flavours that your Mother parent has is generally what attracts the Karmic being to that particular womb. For us and most Humans this is done unconsciously however it is different for Spiritual beings, they have conscious ability to take birth where and when, but even here sometimes things can go wrong. The Karmic makeup is very much the real you, this part of what you consider you, is totally your true nature your true being, we could say “your Attma” your “Pranic Being” this the real you is made up of different types of Karmic encryption influences this fundamentally all you are. The way Karma influences your life is different for every being in regards to spiritual growth, for that is what we are talking about here. The Karmic influence here for example, you get you to certain points in life where you have to make a conscious decision. An example would be in your life you come across the True Guru, the Gurus Hukam here is direct for example in the form of Rehit as one option. Here the person has to make a conscious choice which path? This one or that one? Here you karmic tendencies can be a blessing or a burden. This is a very very simplified and short way to express something that can be complex, however in another debate I recall someone mocking and saying “if you miss the bus this is bad karma!” no, not really, that’s just tough luck but there will be another one along soon, but if you miss the opportunity to meet the true Guru it could be lifetimes before you come across another one, if at all.
  22. Hukam, excepting everything that comes your way, unconditionally. Different to Karma. Fundamentally the path in life which is without obstacles isn’t always the right one.
  23. What a backwater mentality, that’s why people are failing and perhaps you. You really ought to think before you write such things as “Sikhi is Failing” “Sikhi isn’t strong” etc etc We work with quality and not quantity, people forget that.
  24. I would say the purpose of your statement is more to create conflict then actually find any truth or knowledge in the topic, there was no need for you to say “what im geting at is mainly for thise people who follow the sanatan sikhi more” It clearly shows motive and intent. I’ll answer what I can as a realist because realistically I couldn’t even proclaim to be a Sikh let alone one from any specific camp. The point I want to make is that it matters little what people said in whatever calibre of authority or when it was said what we really need to look at is what’s happened since, Fundamentally people are still suffering, in prisons, in widow colonies etc. Its all very rich us sitting in comfort and occasionally have a moral steering calling for independence etc etc. But we don’t really care, not at all, don’t fool yourself by pretending to care because you don’t, not really, not the way you should anyway. Because at the end of the day we can put the emotions on the shelf and carry on with our everyday lives, mundanely, unconsciously. Realistically we create the stirring of emotion when it suits our own insecurities when we need a fix, its just an emotional narcotic. We as a people have many resources, financial, educational and so on but realistically we are existing only for ourselves our mundane lives, safe and secure. The pros say this and the against say that, what does it matter? Because realistically we continue to live of the backs of our ancestors without ever stepping out of our security comfort zones, very few are genuine and even fewer capable of doing anything. We have created this false notion about ourselves trumped up by words and very little actions. The reader may be offended, good, it was my purpose to cause offence because that’s only when sleeping idol minds listen.
