  1. " the nishan sahib stickin out of the car. they moslty muslims claiming to be sikhs" From what i have seen the opposite is true it is so called apne who do this vulgar behaviour. We cannot wash it off us by claiming it is muslims. I have seen apne do this in a few places in England including Birmingham. I have my views on how these anti social idiots should be handled when they block roads so they can dance to the dhol whilst drinking and smoking and at the same time holding the Nishaan Sahib, but I will not mention them here. The traders at the mele also need to be told to stop selling these Nishaan Sahib as there is no reason for them to sell them . Nishaan Sahib are not meant for idiots to stick out there cars whsilt playing bhangra music.
  2. Works fine on media player 9. What version of media player do you have ?
  3. Anyone got a map of Sikhistan which was mooted by a few failed politicians a long time before Khalistan ? :T:
  4. Other roumers I heard was that banta used to take a load of feem (heroin) at the start of the day and that was the reason he wore dark shades all the time as he had a drug users eyes (swollen bloodshot).
  5. I am surprised they have not named a few things after his grandson who molested a french tourist (and got away with it) whilst banta was cm.

  7. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Here is another lame post  ) :D it cost rs3 i just asked one of my friend who stays in india. 7 rs commision lollllllllllll enna vadee commison   man r u a HAWALDAAR. As with everything you can get desi versions made locally and proper goods. Just like you get a 50RS kirpan and a 500RS kirpan. If you can get the fuse for 3 RS then that is all the more reason to use a surge protector. Not a hawaldar but a thanedar
  8. You can charge ur battery there with ur normal charger  I have sony dig. cam and i took it there and my sony adapter (normal one which comes with package) has the voltage mentioned on it's case and it says the voltage types and it was compatible with indian voltage which is really high ... All u have to do is find the outplug without round holes .. (u can buy the outplug adapter real cheap from any electronic store back in punja b.. So if you japaney made camera.. then my friend you are lucky B) i love public transportation in the city.. specially rickshaws.. u don't have to worry about finding parking space and the gas and so on.. they are just like yellow cabies of NY.. nice advice bikramjitsingh gave... after all.. all bikramjits are smart :e: I never been to hemkund sahib  Here is another lame post  ) :D If you plan on taking electrical devices /chargers etc invest in a surge protector. The Indian electric supply is not the most stable at the best of times and a surge protector will protect your equipemnt from spikes/surges. You can buy these in India and they are well worth buying. A surge/spikebuster can be had for around Rs.200 and the replaceable fuse in them will cost around Rs.10.

AHAHAA.. no-war loving hippies.. !!! I bet he would say.. whatever hitler was doing was good and all jews were stupid to raise their voice against hitler.. -------- Event 84 happened, Thousands of Thousands died (INNOCENTS) did media like cbc cover that? except 2 min clips show once or twice.. Indian Airline crashed and many innocent died CBC covered it like hell and BLAMED it all ON TURBAN WEARING SIKHS.. WHY? Judge of BC didn't even said his decision till this day.. and ALL Blame is on singhs.. WAH baye wah.. Soo good media rite?? Shady witness, made up lies, Govt' officals cancelling their airline tickets to the last min, indian govt spies in canada.. Is that all covered by CBC Stop being like an ignorant stupid chita-dhota person and study the whole history before jumping to conclusion ! If i was on that stage i probably said the same things (EVEn i know i probably won't mean it, nor the singh who was on stage did..) SOmetime it's called a moment of heat.. If one person murder one member of your family, it's natural reaction for the family of deceased to make statements against the criminal like "I will kil.l you." so guy or guys stop whinning and don't try to be smart  jk Bhul chak kaeh maaf Ha ha ha someone has an alternative view so they must be a no war loving hippie. :D  Reminds me of all these neo cons calling anyone who was against the Iraq invasion a saddam lover or commie. Stop being like an ignorant stupid chita-dhota person and study the whole history without blinkers on before launching into a meaningless tirade of gibberish No its not a "moment of the heat" it is a plain stupidity and arrogance that leads a person to making such statements. If they are such a hothead liable to making such statements they should keep off stage for the good of the Panth.
  10. Here goes another lame post One tip if you hire a car, check the tyre tread is ok and the driver has a good spare, a working jack etc. from experience I have seen cars with this sort of desi rubber remoulds on tyres (like covering a tyre with a rubber type sellotape) which are unsafe and prone to punctures. I have also seen drivers stuck at the side of a road becasue their jack does not work. Heres another lame tip  . I agree with Karen Kaur about keeping an eye on valuables. It is sad but well known that thieves do operate everywhere including Gurdwara complexes. Most darji (tailors) will sow hidden pockets into kurte pyjame if you ask them.

Has anyone contacted that so called Sikh leader who is shown on stage openly advocating the killing of 50,000 Hindus to correct his views / thinking, in this documentary ? It is people like him who help the likes of CBC label Sikhs as terrorists. As for bias I found the following post on Sikhnet. Are CBC really that bad ? Nihal Singh Ji, if you don't want others to police you, you must police yourself first. The CBC has documented the plight of Sikhs as equally as they have depicted the Sikhs that were using terror as a meothod of exacting revenge. It just so happens that the Air India trial is going on and it was the largest terrorist bombing that Canada's ever fallen victim too. However when the Golden Temple was attacked in 1984 they also did many documentaries on Sikhs living in Canada and their struggles, so no they not being biased by simply reporting what some of these <banned word filter activated> so called Sikhs said. And the Sikh community itself should also feel ashamed since they allowed such people time on microphones, demanding the lives of 50,000 hindus and then yelling "Bole So Nihal" in the same breath, its blasphemous and should not have been allowed to happen. Of course what happened in 1984 is beyond horrific, but what good is it when we fall victim to one of the five evils of Anger? You get people looking just as blood thirsty as the Delhi mobs and bad press since they are in full Sikh regalia, nothing is ever gained like this and never will be and smarter more grounded Sikhs should have stopped it.
  12. Singh Borothers owe me 100RS going back to aorund 1992. Shame I lost the receipt. Make sure you take all the books you pay for with you and dont leave any deposits for books they claim to be able to order in. Who care if someone owe you 1000 bucks or 1 bucks.. go solve it by yourself veerjee without any offense.. ur posts are always >> (lame) Who cares if you think Singh Brothers are trustworthy  . Without any offence, your posts are below lame they are never researched and show your lack of knowledge (just one example no Americans served Maharaja Rhunjeet Singh aha ha ha :D ). So as to whose posts are lame I suggest you look at your own first   The poster wanted know whether the traders were trustworthy. The fact that Singh Brothers owe me 100 RS castes doubt on their status of being trustworthy. . As for solving this issue I have not posted anything in these forums asking anyone like yourself to get me the money back so please try to stick to the topic concerned, which in this case is helping this veerji with his trip to India and stop him getting ripped off  ). If you have a personal issue with me or my posts then resolve it by sending me a PM rather than distracting from the topic concerned  .
  13. Singh Borothers owe me 100RS going back to aorund 1992. Shame I lost the receipt. Make sure you take all the books you pay for with you and dont leave any deposits for books they claim to be able to order in.
  14. Yes I have been to Singh brothers and in fact they owe me 100RS from a few years ago for a book I ordered which they never sent . They have a good stock of books but I found it cheaper to get the same books in Jullundhar. I will try and find out the name of the bookshop in Jullundhar and an email address so you can order the books ready for collection if you know what you want. I think it is called New Book Comapny. For English books try Universal Book Depot also in Mai Hira Gate Jullundhar. If you go to Delhi try Bookwork in Connaught Place. It is very cheap to buy English books in India. Get "Maharaja Ranjit singh, Lord of the Five Rivers" by Jean Marie Lafont published by Oxford university Press. It has some great pictures in it and costs only 1500 RS. The price in the UK was about £50. It is a similar story with many other books. There are some nice books in the Panjab Heritage Series including Sikh Shrines in Delhi, Gurdwaras in India and Pakistan, Forts Palaces and Havelis of Panjab (never been able to get hold of this one), The Sikh Wedding . They have superb pictures and are informative. They are priced around 375 RS. Have a search on www.gobookshoping.com and make a note of title ISBN, author and publisher and take this information with you. Regarding whether Singhs rip you off. They sure do just because someone has Keshdari as most the shopkeepers around the Darbar Sahib complex it does not stop them ripping you off. Few years ago I wanted some swords and was quoted a price of I think 6 or 7 hundred rupees each by the keshdari shopkeeper. I walked out of the shop with the same swords for a total of 300 RS. As for eating outside it is best avoided but I have only ever had a problem once when I eat pizza from Dominos in Jullundhar. I had to sit on the toilet for most the night  . Never had a problem with food from Dhaba but I am sure others have. Might be worth taking a dose of DUKORAL if you are worried about tummy probelms. Ask your pharmacist for details about Dukoral. It is a vaccination against cholera but it is said to prevent 50% of travellers diarrohea cases. Dont worry about the dodgy mineral water . I survived 4 weeks on such bottled water. Just make sure the bottle looks in good condition and the cap does not look as if it has come of a 10 year old bottle. If it does not look right do not buy it even if the shopkeeper assures you it is fresh and just go to another retailer.
  15. The only thing that has changed is you can buy Pepsi, Coca Cola, Cornetto Ice Creams, Sunny deol vests etc  Enjoy your trip. One thing I reccomend if you are going now is mosquito repellant. It is a must. Also dont waste your money buying it over here. You can get large tubes of Odomos in India for around 50RS. As the other brothers have said be careful that you dont get ripped off. For books I usually use shops in Mai Hira Gate in Jullundhar as I found one that will give a 10% discount which means I have even more money to spend on tooth decaying soft drinks . I have found the shops in Amritsar are a rip off unless you haggle. I usually offer a third of the price they ask for.
  16. General knowledge built up after reading countless books, magazines and leaflets over the years. )
  17. Veerji I think you are wrong . The following officers all served Maharaja Rhunjeet Singh. :D General Harlan was American Colonel Canora was American Colonel Alexander Gardner was American. Lieutenant. Stephen Lane was American.
  18. ) You really are touchy. Learn to control your temper. I am TRYING TO find out what methods the Sikh Museum uses to preserve our heritage. >>Singh we hear stuff like this all the time, and it rubbish. Hear stuff like what ?? that we need temperature controlled rooms ?? >>If the Sikh Museum does not have climate controlled rooms. The Sangat will Help with this seva. Well thats the whole point 'http://forums.waheguroo.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif'> . The museum should have these prior to housing these items of great importance to the Sikh Quam. So if they do not have them what methods are they currently using to control humidity etc and preserve the current items they do have ? We do not want these hand written Guru Granth Sahibs to be kept in conditions which could cause them damage. See there is a point to my posts so I shall not be quiet. I am concerned with preserving Sikh heritage and if that means I upset you with my "pointless posts" then so be it ! ) :D   >>Our Main Aim is to take all Granths from BL to the Sikh Museum and if they need climate controlled room that seva will also be done. Very good aim. But should the Sikh museum not have these rooms in place for its current collection ? Thanks very much Kandola paaji for emailing the Sikh museum :TH:
  19. Will the Sikh Museum be prepare to preserve these by installing special temperature controlled rooms etc ? We have already lost many rare manuscripts due to the stupidity of the SGPC etc. We need to preserve these manuscripts. We don't want some so called baba from India turning up to the museum and deciding that it could be better to consign these to the flames. < !--QuoteEEnd--> Veerji, Let's give some credit to our Gurdwara in the UK who have established museums on a small scale. If they don't have the facilities to store the puratan saroops in the correct climatical conditons then I am sure between us we can raise the funds in order to purchase the equipment. As far as I know, Leicester is able to provide the facilities. Do they or don't they have a climate controlled room ? Are the existing hand written Guru Granth Sahibs they have kept in such a room ? Surly some Singh from Leicester must know the answer. :TH:

  21. Its got to be more than that, especially with these special marriages where half the pind ends up moving to Canada and then that half once settled get married to the other half of the pind so all the pind is over. )
  22. Exactly. How can this fat marshmellow type man be called a shaheed. He never exactly did anything for the panth. As for BAdal etc turning up at his remembrance service, well thats not a surprise as Badal also his in his village till Bluestar was over.
  23. Probably was a government chela afterall he managed to dodge all the bullets and come out of the Darbar Sahib complex unscathed during Bluestar (must have been a pre planned escape). He spoke $hit for years and was a coward. He was just like his fat mentor Fateh Singh (some call him sant) who will go down in Sikh history as having gone back on numerous promises to die unless chandigarh was handed over to Punjab.
  24. Is ek niwas the place where Jaz Mann of Babylon Zoo fame was offering Chickens for sacrifice ? I think this was reported in the British press a few years ago. I think they have been slated by various animal rights groups because some say that animal sacrifice is undertaken here. Also for anyone planning to go down beware there is a really massive dog (must be one that the so called baba and mata of ek niwas have developed through advanced desi DNA cloning) they usually have roaming the premises.
  25. I think it is the UK with around 700,000 Sikhs. Unofficially this figure is likely to be a lot higher if we take into account all those staying black.
