  1. regarding the shabads, they are all in gurbani. they are singing/saying various shabads. i can tell you but ill have to post again.. (bit tyrd now! :BL: ) regarding the ghars, see below. Ghar 1 - Dadra Taal (There are 1 Taalis and the Beat has 6 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 2 - Rupak Taal (There are 2 Taalis and the Beat has 7 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 3 - Teen Taal (There 3 Taalis and the Beat has 16 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 4 - Chaar Taal (There are 4 Taalis and the Beat has 12 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 5 - Punj Taal (There are 5 Taalis and the Beat has 15 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 6 - Khut Taal (There are 6 Taalis and the Beat has 18 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 7 - Mut Taal (There are 7 Taalis and the Beat has 21 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 8 - Asht Mangal(There are 8 Taalis and the Beat has 22 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 9 - Munini Taal (There are 9 Taalis and the Beat has 23 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 10 - Brahm Taal (There are 10 Taalis and the Beat has 28 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 11 - Rudra Taal (There are 11 Taalis and the Beat has 32 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 12 - Vishnu Taal (There are 12 Taalis and the Beat has 36 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 13 - Muchkund Taal (There are 13 Taalis and the Beat has 34 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 14 - Mahashani Taal (There are 14 Taalis and the Beat has 42 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 15 - Mishr Baran Taal (There are 15 Taalis and the Beat has 47 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 16 - Kul Taal (There are 16 Taalis and the Beat has 42 Maatraas) <LI>Ghar 17 - Chrchari Taal (There are 17 Taalis and the Beat has 40 Maatraas) the taalis is how you clap. its not reely needed to know for the ghar stuff. all thats needed is that XXXXX ghar goes with XXXXX taal. these are the allocations of the taals. raags are also there. there are some shabads that have to be sung in a special way, like in gurbani it says, dupade/chaupade/punj pade etc... this indicates the number of lines that is to be said to understand the true meaning. now, regards to meaning, some shabads have 1/2/3 and i think 4 (may be wrong here) rahaos. (also there is such thing as a 'rahao dooja') rahao = 'the catchphrase of the shabad' people that know a little say that it just means pause, though, this is also right to an extent. in general, if there is more than 1 rahao, then it will be sung in partaal (multi taal, where the taal changes every verse. its a nit complex, bt it for ask around what partaal is, then people generally no wot it is...) these shabads with more than 1 rahao can also have an extra bit to the title, and it can actually cay 'partaal' in the title. on a side note, the message is importent, and the raag/taal is a tool used to gain extra 'umpf' in getting the ras of naam/god and to get to god. a shabad is such a thing, that if you get high enough,(spiritually),then the ras will come stright from the shabad and you will then dissolve into the shabad/naam and god. that is the true aim of the shabad. so to do raag and taal stuff is good. but it is somtimes easy to get carried away. i did wen i learnt. raag and taal is just another tool to help you get to god. to go all the way, you must let go of everything. gurmukhs even say, that the letters, the akhar of gurbani even they disapear from the page, thats when you dissolve. --> har harjun doe ek hai... saagar mahe boodh, boondh mahe saagar... lots of beautiful bani for this.. anyway, hope its been helpful.. gurfateh jeeo..
  2. ^^ that post is not necessary...its silly. its like saying, y u wana no bout heven when u aint bin there?... its a silly and counter-productive q! this is a diccussion/debate. not sumwhere to start personal vendettas. gurfateh jeeo.

  4. so what exactly is wrong with sex for pleasure? is any pleasureable act a sin? i enjoy cycling, should i only do this for exercise and not enjoy it? to an extent yes! guru says that pleasures of this world are tastless, and (most) are worthless (aside from the need to bring good truthful life into the world i.e. sex). BUT! any pleasure is not a sin really. i say this because, it is like saying, just because you are not remembering god every moment you have, or just because you say you are tired after a duty (roal), then these are sins. its not a sin, it just 'is'. (just to confuse you a bit more, in guru maharaj it says, paap pun doe ek saman! ) but look... sex for pleasure will consume you. sex for pleasure will finish you in hell. sex for pleasure will give you reincarnation (basikly you will keep coming back into the cycle and not get emancipated from this cycle) sex for pleasure will BREAK YOUR CHIT FROM GOD. sex for pleasure will make you lost in the world of maya (the "3 worlds") sex for pleasure will make you fall away from meditation, washing our sins, and virtuous deeds (maybe) sex for pleasure will only give you small pleasure. sex for pleasure will destroy your mind making you uneasy and weak sex for pleasure will make you go up and down inside yourself, fearful and worried (saying oh i shouldnt have slept with him/her) not to mention, sex for pleasure makes you a beast with, just not caring about the other person, and to treat them like a prostitute/ piece of meat. in the end, the one who will dispel the fear is god through saadh sangat and your support should be narayan, I.E. GOD. sex for pleasure may make you worship the fe/male. but then... we are sikhs supposed to worship god. aatam ras je jaaniae... this shabad explains the trueness of pleasure. lots of shabads do. MAY i a say again that ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਵਾਂ move away from ourselves and come under the shelter of god. this is the reason why we are here. the yogis understand this, and the saadhus, cus they have catagorised food even as ras foods and non ras foods. btw, the khalsa colours, what are they? saffron, 'navy' blue, black and white.. i thort, wot bout the other colours? i found out the reason that these colours were chosen was because that they do not 'arouse' the mind. this aside, sex is a ras that people do for having a kid. if caringness is not between the two people and they just wana go at it for no reason aside from geting 'hi', then it is wrong. it will consume the person and SELF CONTROL (which is at the heart of sikhi) will be lost, therefore, closeless to god is seriously jeopardized. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ to taran0 SEX IS NOT SOMTHING THAT IS TO BE ENJOYED AT WILL (for the reasons stated above). its not a toy. NAAM RAAS IS TO BE ENJOYED AT WILL!!!!!!BOYO!! U HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD THE TUK, JUST LIKE THE OTHER TUKS I.E. RAAG SOOHI ETC. english translations are a poor substitute. gurfateh
  5. perhaps some scientists believe that but they are not in the majority. the whole point of the word universe is that it covers everything. so all these other "universes" would be part of the one and only universe. this 2 part vid explains the multiple universe, aka 'the multiverse'. such a beautiful name. the leading science experiments and theories are very very similar in nature of what our bani describes, but our bani goes that extra 'mile' (so to speak). the major theory is M theory. i have spent my time in reasearching this theory and learning this theory. it is a remarkable theory. it can be thought to be the uniting theory of our universe. anyway, those of us that are slightly scientifically illiterate may find it hard to follow the explaination. other such models include the brane worlds. it is really very intriguing. i frequently say that when the chance arose for the question of 'what is that?' science looked outward, and religon looked inwards. i personally feel that science and religon will come around and meet each other and then science will say, 'oh yea! ok ur right!' to religon. anyway. gurfateh
  6. hello jeeoz.. sex is a tool that is supposed to be used when necessary, i.e. when trying for children. we are supposed to live in grist, which means a home life, along with our sharda (spirituality stuff). this beautiful act can be tainted, and then become kaam. when it is kaam, (which IS a sin) then it becomes for fun. below was your post, what if a couple has had 3 or 4 kids before 30 years old, should they refrain from sex forever? surely thats a bit harsh. can i assume from your answer that you believe contraceptives are not allowed? is there anything in the scriptures about this matter? >>couples can have as many or as less kids as they can bring up in truthfulness and in the way of gurmat, theres no "limit" as such that iv come accross in gurbani. there is gurbani that i have come accross that says basicaly, >>in anand a couple trries for a child...<< so, from this, it can be said that, you can only try for a child once you have the true anand (due to, aanand aanand sabh ko kahe, AANAND GURU TE JAANIA..) i tried to find the tuk, couldnt find it. will keep trying and post it. this is the reason for sex. how else can it be that goodness and good people and sant and all people that are good will come into this world? the duty arises to have sex for the purpose of having a kid and then raising him acording to gurmat. homo-humans are just in it for either pleasure, or that they geet attached. this love attachment to people should be directed to god. we are here to -foward goodness, and -emancipate ourselves. and not to get enticed into fake pleasures and get stuck in the rut of false attachment (i.e. any attachment other than god.) i would like to say that this topic is good for informative purposes and personal questions should be left out. exchange views and giaan. gurfateh
  7. i agree with frontline to the majority of the extent that can be agreed. (weird sentance!) to analyse homosexualitywe must break it up into its components. the reasons for homosexuality, or even, the reasons for a relationship can be included in this; these are as follows. i can only think of a few. 1. love of person 2. love of lust 3. want to try it out 4. everyone else is doing it (i.e. you see other people in relationships straight or gay) 5. revenge? maybe??! 6. have no reason to love opposite sex 7. an outlet 8. a disrupted past i cant think of any more..... but i think this covers the reasons for a homosexual or even hetrosexual relationships. from most of these reasons, it can be seen that they are nearly all anti gurmat and none show a reason worthy of saying i do XXXXXXXXXXX because it will get me closer to god. 1. love of another is scraped by gurbani, > tudh bin dooja ko naahi 2. love of lust is scraped by gurbani, > he kaamang, narak bisraamang (in sahaskriti m5) 3. trying it out is scraped by gurbani, > aap tiaag sharani pavaa ( move away from munmat "i want...i want...." 4. cus everyone else is doing it is scraped by gurbani > moorakhe naal na loojiae, or even >kachae gur te mukat na hooa 5. for revenge is scraped by gurbani simpily due to revenge being wrong cus it makes you further from god the last three reasons are a bit more difficult to devolve. 6.doing it for an outlet is wrong as this can be seen as loosing control and, when sikhi is all about the self control of oneself, i dont think a 'wrong' outlet such as that is at all appropriate. 7. having no reason to love the opposite sex is like saying i give up. a sikh never gives up. he learns from each situation. it might just be ones karam that people behave like that to oneself. 8. (this may sound a bit harsh but ) a disrupted past is again regarding karam. that was paid in the past, now, dealing with it is what is left. that is the punishment, a disrupted past, but instead of doing naam to deal with it, and lessen the hardship, they may, just as this reason suggests, react in rash ways. reason 8 for homosexuality may not be all to relevent to the majority of homosexuals. but all in all it can be seen that it is not what sikhi and getting closer to god is about. rMg rUp rs bwid ik krih prwxIAw ] Pleasure, beauty and delicious tastes are useless; what are you doing, O mortal? sggs. hope this has helped gurfateh

  10. AS A SIDE NOTE karam is the end result of bad deeds, even good deeds in our past lives. our job is to wash then before they manifest, and if they have manifested, then doing naam, gurmantar, will make the hardship less. god will slowly cut dawn the bas karam down from 100% to 90 80 60 50 40 30 20 10% sant mahapursh say that one will have to pay for 10% of any karam, but by that time, you would have done so much naam, that that 10% will not even effect you! that is how great our god is. and with good karams, when that good karam manifests, you will definately get 100% of that good deed you did. but OUR GOD IS SO GREAT! he not only gives the 100%, if you do naam, he gives so much more on top! 110% 120% 150% infinate%! this is why bani/naam/god is bayant. endless. without end. dhan dhan to out TIMELESS LORD OF THE UNIVERSE! oh we have no idea. god is so great... gurfateh..
  11. if you do naam, then, that will morch your sankat. but seriously. its true. everything is built on naam. shabads can be thort as a painting that cant be seen in its frame. so, doing naam puts colour and makes it from being invisible to become visible. likewise, if you do naam, with doing any shabad from sggs, then it will be all beautiful for you. u have any idea of the most pouerfull shabad?? no wot, il make it easy for you. dhan mool mantar up to naanak hosi bhi such (or gurprasaad but i pref the ful maha mantar bhai gurdaas ji has a pauri in a vaar and it goes up to naana hosi bhi such it is so beautiful..anyway) jus do mool mantar and naam together, and u will feel somthing amazing. trust me. persevere with it. then you will see. control your mind. then you will see. then thats when you become speechless. it will hapen. just a mata of time. some people it takes long due to lack of comcentration. other people can control their mind better, hence, they get to the destination faster. just to finish, the mool mantar is the most powerful mantar there is. and i have heard that when you get to a stage, even the akhar dissolve. it can be where they dissolve. but anyway, iv said too much, hope you may realise the power of the mool manter. and i hope i do too! gurfateh
  12. http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/darpan2/1412.html from what i remember from a sakhi that i heard quite a while back, was that guru naanak dev ji went to stay in lahore for a while. one morning they woke up to the squeals of animals mainly the animals (i guess) of the 'muslims meat' preped in the halaal fashion. they used to prepare the meat for the day in the morning for all the shops and such things. basically a slaughter house.. laahaor seher - the city of lahore jeher - poison (for the souls of the people doing the gulvad hatia kamai) keher - can be taken to mean zaalam or basically some 'aunsaar' kum. sava peher - in a day there is 8 sets of 3, which makes the 24 hours of the day. --> aat peher aaradhiae puran satgur giaan ...sggs... so sava means 1.25, so mathematically, 3hours plus a quarter of 3hours which i think is calculated to be 45 mins, hence rounding up to 4 hours. i take this to mean the muzis used to take roughly 4 hours in the mornings >daily< to slaughter the animals.. so guru naanak dev ji wrote this that these people that do such a horrible deed to life (animals) are daily for so long (~4 hours) killing and burning their own souls in this fire of hell that they have themselves created (as compassion is the start for being a human else, one is just a beast) and drinking the poision of their own keher ( 'badness' ) in this city of lahore. thats basically it. however, another part is also there. it was said by the previous poster that the whole of the part of the shabad. the concluding part comes after this tuk. 1412} this next bit is where most of the people get confuzzled! (due to them understanding how lahore was bad.) in the next part of the line, it says that lahore is 'good', hence the confusion. so far lahore is a place where people kill their own aatma. then GURU AMAR DAS says, lahore city has become the home of 'sifati da amrit sar'. (iv purposely put it the other way round for understanding purposes.) sifati da amrit sar, basically says.............. .................the amrit of god so all together, lahore city has become the home of the amrit of god. so what does this mean?? DHAN GHAN GURUU RAAM DAAS SAHIB MAHA MAHA MAHARAAJ. they were born there, therefore, the city became pure. the take home message is where ever a mahapurakh is/goes/stays, that town becomes blessed. in other words (specifically the words of dhanguru raam daas), i have no purpose other than serving. so i really thanks you for giving me this seva. u dont understand how much i mean this, and how thankful that i am that i came accross your post. so thaan sohaavana dhan guru naanak nirankaari! gurfateh. hey, i just realised that you have posted an answer to your own q! i think it might be a different person though.. anyhu gurfateh
  13. Why did Guru Gobind Singh have more than one wife? How many marriages did Guru Gobind Singh have? The wrong impression that the Guru had more than one wife was created by those writers who were ignorant of Punjabi culture. Later authors accepted those writings indicating more than one marriage of the Guru and presented it as a royal act. During those days kings, chiefs, and other important people usually had more than one wife as a symbol of their being great and superior to the common man. Guru Gobind Singh, being a true king, was justified in their eyes to have had more than one wife. This is actually incorrect. In Punjab, there are two and sometimes three big functions connected with marriage, i.e., engagement, wedding, and Muklawa. Big gatherings and singings are held at all these three functions. In many cases, the engagement was held as soon as the person had passed the infant stage. Even today engagements at 8 to 12 years of age are not uncommon in some interior parts of India. The wedding is performed a couple of years after the engagement. After the wedding, it takes another couple of years for the bride to move in with her in laws and live there. This is called Muklawa. A dowry and other gifts to the bride are usually given at this time of this ceremony to help her to establish a new home. Now, the wedding and Muklawa are performed on the same day and only when the partners are adults. A big befitting function and other joyful activities were held at Anand Pur, according to custom, at the time of the engagement of the Guru. The bride, Mata Jeeto Ji, resided at Lahore, which was the capital of the Mughal rulers who were not on good terms with the Gurus. When the time for the marriage ceremony came, it was not considered desirable for the Guru to go to Lahore, along with the armed Sikhs in large numbers. Furthermore, it would involve a lot of traveling and huge expenses, in addition to the inconvenience to the Sangat, younger and old, who wished to witness the marriage of the Guru. Therefore, as mentioned in the Sikh chronicles, Lahore was 'brought' to Anand Pur Sahib for the marriage instead of the Guru going to Lahore. A scenic place a couple of miles to the north of Anand Pur was developed into a nice camp for the marriage. This place was named Guru Ka Lahore. Today, people are going to Anand Pur visit this place as well. The bride was brought to this place by her parents and the marriage was celebrated with a very huge gathering attending the ceremony. The two elaborate functions, one at the time of engagement and the other at the time of the marriage of the Guru, gave the outside observers the impression of two marriages. They had reason to assume this because a second name was also there, i.e., Mata Sundari Ji. After the marriage, there is a custom in the Panjab of giving a new affectionate name to the bride by her inlaws. Mata Jeeto Ji, because of her fine features and good looks, was named Sundari (beautiful) by the Guru's mother. The two names and two functions gave a basis for outsiders to believe that the Guru had two wives. In fact, the Guru had one wife with two names as explained above. Some historians even say that Guru Gobind Singh had a third wife, Mata Sahib Kaur. In 1699, the Guru asked her to put patasas (puffed sugar) in the water for preparing Amrit when he founded the Khalsa Panth. Whereas Guru Gobind Singh is recognized as the spiritual father of the Khalsa, Mata Sahib Kaur is recognized as the spiritual mother of the Khalsa. People not conversant with the Amrit ceremony mistakenly assume that Mata Sahib Kaur was the wife of Guru Gobind Singh. As Guru Gobind Singh is the spiritual but not the biological father of the Khalsa, Mata Sahib Devan is the spiritual mother of the Khalsa, Mata Sahib Devan is the spiritual mother of the Khalsa but not the wife of Guru Gobind Singh. From ignorance of Punjabi culture and the Amrit ceremony, some writers mistook these three names of the women in the life of Guru Gobind Singh as the names of his three wives. Another reason for this misunderstanding is that the parents of Mata Sahib Devan, as some Sikh chronicles have mentioned, had decided to marry her to Guru Gobind Singh. When the proposal was brought for discussion to Anandpur, the Guru had already been married. Therefore, the Guru said that he could not have another wife since he was already married. The dilemma before the parents of the girl was that, the proposal having become public, no Sikh would be willing to marry her. The Guru agreed for her to stay at Anand Pur but without accepting her as his wife. The question arose, as most women desire to have children, how could she have one without being married. The Guru told, "She will be the "mother" of a great son who will live forever and be known all over the world." The people understood the hidden meaning of his statement only after the Guru associated Mata Sahib Devan with preparing Amrit by bringing patasas. It is, therefore, out of ignorance that some writers consider Mata Sahib Devan as the worldly wife of Guru Gobind Singh
  14. gur fateh. i am an amritdhari singh and wish to start a topic that allows anyone to post questions or answers about our gurus. i would like this to be a more informative discussion rather than a heated needless discussion. p.s. extentions to the posted questions and answers are also welcome. i would like to start by this. Q: did guru gobind singh had more than 1 wife? --> the second wife was given a child that will never die called the khalsa panth. with the 2nd wife, no physical relationship was there. Q: did guru gobind singh ji eat meat? --> 2 things here. A. guru naanak dev ji said to a wife where is your husband? the wife replied he is not here. the husband was really hiding in the barn/shed and then he got bitten by a snake and died. guru naanak dev ji said that they knew that the husband was in the shed and because he didnt came to see guru ji, he died and went back into the life cycle again. the wife was sad and said to guru ji, save him. guru ji said i will come back in my tenth form and i will give him mukti. so guru gobind singh ji done that.the tenth naanak. (i am open to correction to all what i type. thanks.) B. guru gobind singh ji via uch da pir was offered halaal meat, guru gobind singh ji through the karamaat they hay (ridh sidh/ special powers) turned the hallal meat into prashaad and ate it. C. --> there may be many more that i do not know aBOUT. please post further answers to these 2 questions. feel free to post your own questions.. this is OLNY through an informative basis. gurfateh..
  15. Har simrit mantan sukhi - if you do naam of god, your mun(heart/mind) and body become happy and peaceful. binsya dhutya souch - everything second to god (i.e. all else apart from god) is destroyed in your mind. SO. once the dasam dwaar is opened, its still a fight. just like the best ride is at the end of brighton peer!! this is the way to god. so we must open the door, then still keep reaching for him. dont stop wen you open the door. it also, may shut... naam abhiyaas. we all no wot naam is. (to wotever extent we can no! because, hai beyant.endless..) so what is abhyaas?? abhyaas means in the literal sense, to 'do'. like karo. jog AiBAws krm DRm ikirAw ] jog abhiaas karam dhram kiriaa | the practice of Yoga and righteous conduct in sukhmani sahib. do=practise.same difference.. so naam abhyaas is juping naam. from god, through the void, came naam on which the gurus hoped onto (onto the naad of naam) and then, bani was rachaad. so bani came from naam. bani is there for one reason. for us to do. we have ardaas. y do we have it? if we are to keep our mun from any wants and desires? y do we have ardaas wen we are not allowed to as for personal things??? because each shabad is an ardaas to god/guru. shabad is the ardaas. i.e. >god, have mercy on me< ...meher karo... kar kirpa har naam devaayo... and so on... so in doing the naam juping/ naam abhyaas, we get closer to god and reach higher avasta.z. (spiritual level) slowly, we get our anhad shabad going inside us (<banned word filter activated> ghar anhad vaje-and this whole pauri in the anand sahib.pauri 5 of 40). like the engine of a car starts. then we start to hear keertan from heaven. this sound inside oneself and the sound of keertan from heaven is the same. then (if we are lucky) our 10 door opens. har har-jun doe aek hai.. saagar mahe boondh, boondh mahe saagar..... mohe pita gul laavae..(how beautifull... a hug from god) and we become in anand. this is when baani like the above comes our of ones mouth.. khin pul rehe na sako bin naavae.... and like hum na sakat kar sifit tumaari... hope that explains the naam abhyaas to you. through our karam we have got the life we have. we are not destined to go to heven or hel which is a chakar anyway which is why people say sikhs dont "believe" in heven or hel -which isnt totally true. through dharam and rehet and above all, NAAM juping, is the way how to get into heven and THEN merge into god. we are destined to only be in a situation through karam. how we act in that situation, is through our actions. how are we gona find our way and to know how we are to act????? dhan sri guru granth sahib ji MAHARAAJ.. for the sake of dharam sikhi was born. no rituals, fasts, pointless things, just going to god. stright. which is why guru gobind singh ji dasmesh pita rachaad amrit. it was the will of god for amrit to exist. cus god told guru ji to rachaa it. maya will stop at nothing to steal the naam you kamaa. earn. so a jugti... soon as you do some naam, do ardaas. say, i am moorakh. god you keep my earnings as its all yours anyway.. we cant keep a single thing as we loose everything all the time because we are such moorakhs.. to know more, just download sikhi to the max2. type and learn. so easy! surf it. jus like the web is surfed. gurfateh jeeo
  17. i swear u have been reading the chaupi before the benti chaupi.. tab astuj <banned word filter activated> mantar bichaaro! wiked story, but i like pita jiz better! gurfateh
  18. it makes no difference how loud you say it!!! only if it is resonating in your heart.. do it where ever, whenever, however (with meaning). i do bani on the loo, (i have to admit that its hard to .... um..... 'concentrate' while talking, so maybe this is a natural thing! --> all the 9 doors of the body close and the 10th opens when you do naam, so maybe this is also summin to consider... naam is in your heart and mind and in you. shoes are phisical. so what can silly shoes do to taint that beauty of naam in you that is resonating? (nothing!) another thing regards to the bathroom... silly people say, wen i am on the toilet, does god peak?? << aaisa moorakh panth chalia.. :umm: god is pure, does that mean he is not close to you when you wear your shoes and ar ein the bathroom?? of course not.. >>gur mere sang, SADAA HAI NAALE<<. i pray that i have served you correctly in answering your q.. gurfateh sikho.
  19. >>>>>>>>alternate response guru ji is all knowing. to say that guru naanak dev ji didnt know the bani, is saying a lot of things that are in effect, wrong. the gurus had one light that was passed through them. i think you have not heard of this>>> > the whole of the guru granth sahib is explaining the japjisahib. the whole of the japji sahib explains the mool manter, the mool manter explains 'ik o-ang-kaar'. it is our job, not to find out what god is, as this will finish your life away(!), but rather to jap naam,y? to try and become immersed into him. thats it. thats all we have to do. do not try and overcomplicate things. sikhi is, IS is IS simple. jus get high (on his name), and get to god. so simple, but so hard to DO it. simple formula, hard to work through it. (>>like E=mc^2 was!! in the end, the dude cracked it!) the 5 bania take no more than 1 hour, if you cant doit, just slap the tape on, and you will no it within 6 months. all of it. all!.. to sleep at 10 or 11 and get up at 6 or 5 (then 4, 3,2,1,12.30 adn so on..) is easy. you will get up! im gona stop cus i wont stop cus its so beautiful. if you get up at 7 or 6 it aint gona make any difference ifyou sleep an hour earlier, just sleep an hour eailer to when you normally do! god understands what your specific ru-teen is. and also understands that if you could, and you dont... gurfateh
  20. Veer, most people do Benti Chaupai in their Rehras Sahib... So I didnt count it apart... dahn dhan guru khalsa ji de sikh. the rehet is normaly to the the 5 in the morning, the reheraas in the eve and the sohila. in the past the akaal takhat has said it is ok to d 3 banias (japji sahib, jaap sahib and tav prasaad sawaeyae) and they then say it will suffice to do do the chaupi and little anand sahi in the reheraas sahib. ( i later found that the same >small group of people< stated that meat was allowed. i asked a harmandarsahib ardaasi that said that a small group of people had got together and using their munmut, changed the rehet to allow minimal bania whereas gutmut states somthing other than what was said.) when amrit is made, the full 5 bania, japji sahib, jaap sahib and tav prasaad awaeyae, baenti chaupi sahib (up untill chaupi ko kehe), then the full anand sahib. then ardaas oviously.. so this is what we should do every morning. mahapursh bachan have been stated to say that when you are doing the 5 bania in the morning, you are preparing the amrit inside yourself. it is a must to recite the 5 bania and to not chop and change. i wish you the best with your journey inward to your soul! gurfateh ji
  21. veer sunny bond singh ji, benti chaupi was missed out on your behalf, an onist mistake i take..this aside... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the 5 bania (in my younger days) i got it so fast i donit (in my hed>surti de naal) in 24 mins :D then i slowed everything down. once it takes you 35 40 mins to do the 5 bania, then you can increase the timeto an hour again by adding more bania. you shouldnt doit too fast, but u shouldnt doit too slow. (mahapursh bachan sed that >paat thora teej karna changa hai< !!) then an hour wont be enough! once you clock an hour, you want to do more, then 2 hours will be nothing.. it will go so quick cus surti is in the naad of the paat.. and thats just the morning! then you got reheraas time. theres another hour or 2 there. then in the middle of the day! noone needs lunch for an hour! unwind with naam! (or bani) p.s. thas funny bout the job and familly!! gurfateh!
  22. um ok! so i jus search for... earth story? or fearless planet??
  23. i want to see it but there is no download. isint it on google vid or summin??
  24. regarding the pdf doc that we both have, which bania are not in the pdf doc that is among the list of bania that is not in the mainstream?
