  1. PM Manmohan Singh has only been in the job for one year, tiime is required to build a power base from within India and outside. Give him time and I have no doubt he will deliver justice. You have to remember he has powerful enemies to contend with. What the Sikh nation needs to do his stand by him at his hour of need to bring the guilty to justice.
  2. There has to be someone in this forum or a friend or a relation with enough money and or connections to start legal proceedings from outside India against the following:- Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, MP, late Dharam Dass Shastri and H.K.L. Bhagat. Unfortunately I don't have the money or connections to do this myself but there has to be someone out there who can start International proceedings, after all General Pinochet is now finally facing justice in Chile. Think smart, put your emotions to one side, clear your head and think how we get these perpetrators to face justice. Maybe we need to start a legal fund in the UK and employ one of the Barristers here? What use have the Gurdwaras, SPGC, Akali Dal been to the victims of genocide, all they care about who is going to be President! Maybe it is the time for Sikhism to break away from the above organizations for now and start thinking for us and particularly for the victims on how to secure justice. Let justice prevail! http://www.hrweb.org/legal/genocide.html

  6. To me Sikhs should turn up to Independence Day on mass to remind India how the Sikhs stopped the Mughals and therefore avoiding India becoming an Islamic State. If if weren't for the sacrifices of the Sikhs India would now be facing towards Mecca. India needs to be reminded the importance the Sikhs played in the role for India's liberation from the British Raj and the Sikhs contribution to Britain and its allies to defeat the fascist regimes of Nazi and Imperialistic Japan during World War II. The reason today India is a economic powerhouse is because the Indian PM Manmohan Singhs’ policies whilst he was Finance Minister during the early 1990s. India during the early 1990s was heading for bankruptcy and again it was a Sikh that saved the nation. We need to educate our people of the above, hold up our heads high and say because of our sacrifices you can celebrate Independence Day. The Khalsa Lives On!!! Jeevan
  7. Sikh Supreme, Unfortunately there is something in the psyche of the Indians that condones wanton acts of violence against the vulnerable in India. Look how the caste system which condemns millions of people to a miserable existence from birth? One of the reasons Sikhism came about was to eliminate the caste system. Did you know that at one time India was a Buddhist country but unfortunately acts of genocide (by the so called Aryans) against the Buddhist forced their decline, that’s why Buddhism is found abroad they had to leave India to survive. When Sikhism can reach out to the masses of India, then justice will prevail. Once the righteous is a majority then justice will be done. My prayer is that Sikhism will spread among the millions low caste Indians then see who dares to deny Sikhism its deserved justice. Jeevan
  8. OUCH unsure.gif soz 4 going off topic but i herd this form my history teacher. during cold war, the president at that time said proudly in a conference that with the nukes of america, they can destroy the whole world over 6 times. den sum1 stood up and asked: y?! u only need 2 do it once wacko.gif K_5ingh with such a serious topic you have made me laugh with the above.
  9. WJKK WJKF Now that Britain is suffering from terrorism from within, now the authorities are trying to rush through legislation to silence, jail and deport the extreme Moslem clerics spouting hate and conding acts of murder. Why haven't the British authorities arrested these people on race relations grounds earlier? Look at the disparaging remarks these clerics have said about our girls in our community. To the British authorities who I don't doubt are monitoring various chat forums, do your job, arrest, jail deport these people now! Long Live the Khalsa!!! Jeevan
  10. Before the "Don't Freak...I'm Sikh" t-shirt, I had a T-shirt made stating the Indians particularly the Sikhs contribution to World War II. I had the t-shirt made up, as I was fed up with the rhetoric certain members of political parties in raising the issue again and again and again on illegal asylum seekers. The trouble is when people talk about asylum seekers even those born, educated and now retiring in this country get lumped in with the generic term 'illegal asylum seekers'. You would not believe the positive response I got from people. My loyalty is with Sikhism and Britain which complement each other I don't think the Sikhs have ever been questioned in their loyalty anywhere in the world. I agree with 'Don't freak I am Sikh' T-shirt, how many Moslems expressed sympathy for innocent Sikhs caught up in the backlash. Jeevan
  11. I don't know whether it could be permitted in Sikhism but all related Sikh material should bear the following inscription with the logo "There is no other God but Waheguru". Jeevan
  12. To add the the pint of the Kara, it is part of the 5Ks as prescribed by the Great Guru Gobind Singh Ji. When will Sikhs understand it is not just a round steel bangle. Sikhs also need to buck up their ideas when they communicate with people from outside our culture. I am fed up with English people coming up to me in the street and trying to impress me with Punjabi swear words. To the numbskulls within our community who think it is clever to teach punjabi swear words to outsiders - tell them the sacrifices of the Sikhs to repel foreign invaders, our leaders sacrificing their lives not only for Sikhism but for the right of others to practice their own religion, tell them of the Sikhs contribution to the British Allies during World War II, if you need any other examples read you history!!! Jeevan
  13. WJKK WJKF Thank you to all for your replies. One of the points I was trying to make is personally I do not agree with Sunday being a normal working day. To me Sunday is sacred in terms to devoting time to Sikhism, family, rest etc. If you can avoid working Sunday then you should try to do so. By you going about your everyday business like shopping, getting the car fixed you could be forcing me indirectly to give up my 'Sabbath' to attend to your needs. If one big employer opens on a Sunday the competition follows, we need to stop this happening, how does anyone devote quality time to Sikhism, family, if work is constantly high on the agenda? Jeevan
  14. WJKK WKKF In the West we tend to go to school, college, university, work Monday to Friday and then usually most people have the weekend off from work. What does Sikhism say about work, rest and play and particularly a Sabbath day? In the West family life is unfortunately breaking down and some of the causes it has been suggested is the amount of time people spend in work, working weekends etc. This leaves very little time for a family to be together especially at the weekends, to attend Gurdwara as a family unit and attend to the emotional and spiritual needs of your immediate family. I appreciate some people need to work weekends i.e. doctors, nurses, police, etc. but do the vast majority need to go shopping on a Sunday rather than spend time at home, attend Gurdwara, attend to the needs of the family basically start bonding with one and another Remember in our drive for a 24/7 society we are being selfish in insisting others work unsociable hours just for us for e.g. fill up our cars with fuel in the middle of the night, have shops open for us on Sundays. What does the Sangat believe in ensuring we set Sunday aside for Gurdwara, Family, and Friends? Jeevan
  15. WJKK WJKF I hope the Sikh Sangat will join me in expressing their sympathy for the murder of young black boy by what looks like racist thugs in England. As Sikhs we too have sadly been victims of racism in this country ourselves. With the current backlash against Moslems unfortunately we are meeting hostility in cases of mistaken identity from which I must stress a 'very small, ignorant, minority'. . 17. Stand at East BBC Radio 4 FM Sat 4 Jun, 10:30 - 11:00 30 mins Which army, over two million men strong, had not a single conscript? Which army bore the brunt of the Japanese attack on Burma and Malaya? Which army fought in North Africa and took part in the assault on Monte Cassino in Italy? The answer is the World War Two Indian Army: a remarkable fighting force of men from almost every caste, creed and corner of India, serving under both British and Indian officers. It played a crucial but forgotten role in the allied victory. Sir Mark Tully presents a unique testimony of this force in its glory days. 1/3. This programme looks at the transformation of the Indian Army from using horses to tanks, and small arms to artillery, from an army limited to defending India to a force which expanded twelvefold to become the world's largest ever volunteer army fighting on many different fronts. 19. WJKK WJKF Dear Sikh Sangat, Your views and comments are requested please for the following news article. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2005/20050426/punjab.htm Undertrial says he was branded by officials Tribune News Service Ludhiana, April 25 An accused in the Lalla murder case, Mohan Lal, who appeared in a local court today, claimed that he was branded by Jalandhar jail officials yesterday. While the Jail Superintendent denied the allegation, Mohan Lal alleged that the words “neevi jaat” (low caste) was etched on his back with hot iron rods. He made the allegation in front of mediapersons in the courts complex where he was brought in connection with the murder case. Alleging that he was not allowed to visit the temple as he belonged to a Scheduled Caste, Mohan Lal claimed that the jail officials beat him up and branded him. Mohan Lal is a co-accused in the case along with the prime accused, Raman Rana. Mr Jagjit Singh, Jail Superintendent, claimed that the two were transferred from Ludhiana jail some months ago on administrative grounds. Raman Rana was again transferred to Hoshiarpur jail some days ago. Refuting the charges, he said he had not visited the jail since Wednesday last. He claimed he was on field duty for two days and then he had gone on leave. Yesterday he was at a wedding and had not visited the jail. Mr Jagjit Singh said he had not seen Mohan Lal before. He only knew about Raman Rana who was using his mobile phone to contact gang members. “That was the reason I had transferred them from Ludhiana jail earlier and Jalandhar later. They had formed a gang inside the jail premises and were fighting with other undertrials. They are now trying to get back at me,” he added.
  20. WJKK WJKF We need to ask the low income colonies like Trilokpuri, Mongolpuri, Sultanpuri and Palam Colony who suffered from the direct consequences of the Delhi Riots of 1984. T
  21. I have worked in London do you realise how many white South Africans, New Zealanders, Australians etc there are and how they get to pick the cream of the jobs over better educated visibly ethnic minorities. The Conservative Party has always had an element of racism but if you look at the Labour Party they are just as bad with their deafening silence. Remember what Martin Luther King said, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”.
  22. How did Sonia Deol become a conduit for Sikh views? She is utterly useless, failed to hold up the honour of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on a show last year? Waheguru save us from this Punjabi girl because that is what she is. Being a Sikh is much, much more. I don't listen to Asian Network I am a Sikh not Asian. Jeevan
  23. As a Labour supporter and what I call a Loyalist, the New Labour Project failed to reform the Public Sector full stop. I too have worked in the public sector and it is full of time wasters. Billions are wasted in not securing the best price & quality for goods and services. You need to sack workers and particularly managers and directors who fail manage effectively. You cannot give billions of £ to public sector organisations who have a track record of waste and inefficiency. The Labour government has failed to raise wages and benefits for the lower paid but at the same time give out billions to contract staff where a permanent employee could do the job. During the 2001 period when Indo Pak relations were at a record low and there was a possibility of conflict, the British government was quite happy to sell arms to both countries at the same time asking them to seek diplomacy to resolve differences. Indian Politicians are crooks in Nehru style suits, the Western politicians are crooks in Armani, and Boss suits. PM Blair ordered an illegal war in Iraq if he cannot respect the rule of war why should the common man on the street have respect for authority.
