  1. WJKK WJKF GPS you mention: "We have another dark character Gurbax singh Gulshan who is hard core anti sikh preacher He applied for Jathedar's post twice and was rejected . God knows someone may make him jathedar tommorrow." Where and what has Gulshan mentioned on anti Sikh preaching, I 've heard him over the years and haven;t heard anything anti- sikh, could you enlighten here a little please???
  2. WJK WJKF Shameful,disgusting, heartbreaking: http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/09/23/commonwealth.games.child.labor/index.html?hpt=C2
  3. WJKK WJKF Not surprised at all , Since Independance what has India achieved: 1. corruption. 2.child labour the highest in the world 3. In the top5 for the world's most dangerous roads. 4.Black economy that has no end 5.Rich and poor gap wider than ever before. Then what sickens me is that they pose as deprived developing country in need of western Aid every year, hopefully this recession/depression will end that sooner rather than later.
  4. WJKK WJKF It's amazing how most of the Sikh Kaum doesn't consult Bhai Gurdass Ji's varan for the ultimate clarification and understanding, please read the vaan below and question the bramgiani's on how comes their view is different from Bhai Gurdaas Ji??? Even further info in the Varan of Bhai Gurdas, and those that mention Kalki avtar coming back...well all is revealed here :: ਬਿਸਨ ਲਏ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਦਸ ਵੈਰ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਜੋਧ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ । bisan|aay avataar das vair virodh jodh sanghaaray| Visnu incarnated ten times and decimated his opposing warriors. 5. WJKK WJKF Great reply to a great question, just want to add some goals to the yur great plan. 1.Naam/simran/Gurbani reading should be a target of about 2.5 hours daily- big target but can be split to make it easier when starting out. 2. Physical workout - target should be at least 1 hour daily- and it should be of a cardio nature. 3. Daily seva at a Guru ghar and sangat should also be a daily target of about 1 hour or more. my 2cents- lots to be getting on with, if done there is not doubt at all no doubt you will over time become an effective human being towards all goals in life, no matter what the challanege.

  7. WJKK WJKF It's amazing how Brahamgyani's don't ponder upon Bhai Gurdas Jee's varan which are the key to understanding SGGS messages, hence explanation is clear here: ਸਤਿਜੁਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਾਸਦੇਵ ਵਵਾ ਵਿਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ । satijugi satigur vaasadayv vavaa visanaa naamu japaavai| In Satyug, Visnu in the form of Vasudev is said to have incarnated and ‘V’ Of Vahiguru reminds of Visnu. duaapari satigur haree krisan haahaa hari hari naamu japaavai| The true Guru of dvapar is said to be Harikrsna and ‘H’ of Vahiguru reminds of Hari. taytay satigur raam jee raaraa raam japay sukhu paavai| In the the treta was Ram and ‘R’ of Vahiguru tells that rembering Ram will produce joy and happiness. kalijugi naanak gur gobind gagaa gobind naamu alaavai| In kalijug, Gobind is in the form of Nanak and ‘G’ of Vahiguru gets Govind recited. chaaray jaagay chahu jugee panchaain vichi jaai samaavai| The recitations o f all the four ages subsume in Panchayan i.e. in the soul of the common man. chaaro achhar iku kari vaahaguroo japu mantr japaavai| When joining four letters Vahiguru is remembered, Line jahaa tay upajiaa dhiri tahaa samaavai ॥49॥1॥ The jiv merges again in its origin. All answers are in the varan and can be accessed here for further learning and understanding: http://www.searchgurbani.com/main.php?book=bhai_gurdas_vaaran&action=vaarindex&vaar=1
  8. WJKK WJKF It's always great to see English Parcharks, of which we are very short indeed given the population of Sikhs throughout the west. However, one suggestion , we all know our Guru Sahiban and various mahan Gursikhs later were conversant in many languages as well as SGGS, therefore it's only pertinent for us to learn Punjabi, Gurmukhi to as a high level possible. This is a must for us to emotionally feel our father SGGS talking to us as well as understanding and vichaar. Bhai Sukha Singh is only good due to his understanding of Gurmuki , panjabi having been born and bred in the UK. This learning of Punjabi and Gurmuki isn't a big issue,as we make it, just requires a weekly consistent effort. As mentioned by the likes of Maskeen Jee, the feeling and depth of meaning of Gurbani Gurmuki level cannot ever be expressed in weak or even deep English. Even American Sikhs started of with our English parchark Yogi sahib but still took to Panjabi Language to gain that deeper level understanding of Gurbani.
  9. WJKK WJKF This article made my day...or even the week coming, should be preserved , and I feel reading it once a month will inspire one even deeply. "Ditte sahbee thaav nahee tud jaaheaaa" line from SGGS comes to mind, please excuse spelling mistakes. We in the west should strive to do seva at Harimandar Sahib (for a week, month or whatever) for once in a life time while living, I have yet to do it myself, pray and hope maharaj does kirpa at some point.Or is it that Maharaj always does kirpa and it's my own weakness not to make the effort.
  10. has not set their status

  11. WJKK WJKF Admins jeeo how is this thread serving a great seva...why is it allowed full of nindiya..what purpose does it serve?
  12. WJKWJF What an excellent question-- my 2 cents- continue with chardi kala, incorporate paat whereveve you can but most important of all is "Sikhee sikhaa Gur vichaar"- listen to vichaars from the likes of Maskeen jee, dwell deeply on them apply in life. You will get tested all the way, and most including me do fail, but we must get up and be ready and accept as a test always, progress further. One of the best ways is to start Sehaj paat of SGGS listening or reading yourself and then doing and listening to vichaars, it's the most wonderful experience in the world.
  13. WJKK WJKF You ask "Is it disrespect letting my work stay on a website that promotes people that don’t respect all aspects of Sikhi?" Bhen jeeo you can never please all the people all the time-- imppossible- universal law-- Sikhi is so high indeed , those that disrepect have come and gone and will continue to do so, and so will the people who respect it. However we all know the truth is like a sword and tests everyone and everything on this planet no matter how high or low they are in their belief. My opinion , continue on with your seva with chardi kala and maharajs kirpa. You ask "Or is it disrespect that I am changing the will of Waheguru Ji or withholding seva from some people? I just don’t know what to do." You or anyone have no power to change whaeguru's will, -- reiterate and search for deeper meanings of those pauris in JapJi - "aakhann jooor chupaa naa joor". If still confused do ardass take Hukham from SGGS after at least an hour or so of naam simran- -your heart should give you the route to take. my 2 cents
  14. WJKK WJKF “FEAR is an acronym in the English language for "False Evidence Appearing Real"” We as Sikhs need to respect the fear these agencies are creating and find the change and bring it about as challange to it rather than react and retract from it .At present there is just this "fear" created for the Sikhs worldwide that Sikhism will fold up and finish and even our own are involved in this exercise. But they will fail as history is a lesson for us from our enemies of the past who said "ehh sikh taaa marayaaa vee nehhh mukdeeeee"!!!
  15. WJKK WJKF Excellent suggestion by " into the light" - the higher the profile the better, just imagine if there was a tee shirt from Khalsa aid with picutres of all it's charitable work and running with that on, for a local marathon or even a measly 5 or 10k run in london somewhere, for which many Sikhs including my self would love to partake in--- secondly our up coming teenagers would love it too.
  16. WJKK WJKF Due to so many Sikh groups and jathebandias out there each one wants to hijack the sikh channel for their purpose. Sikh Channel faces a challenge to keep control and will never be able to satisfy all tastes , people here have to realize that is a fact- it's impossible and will remain so. We have something a very first Sikh Channel which has progressed steeply since launch, we should be supporting in a proactive manner not a reactive manner. 99% we are a reactive community and never look for the third proactive , agree to disagree , and move on to a intelligent response. If the Sikh channel finishes up tomorrow and packs it's bags it would prove we are pendoos who haven't learnt anything from anyone including the country we live in and thrive.
  17. WJKK WJKF Please check the Gravesend situation thread need further responses...there has to be a legal way to stop these clowns committing beadbi.
  18. WJKK WJKF Excellent responses so far , let's keep this momentum going, there has to be solution and there will be one. Let's have some more input here, Admins Jeeo , is it possible to keep this topic on the first page for a week or so?
  19. WJKK WJKF Surprising the admins are pretty quick to close that thread - I haven't experienced admin intervention so fast since I've registered on this site. Anyway the thread served it purpose paritally- the biggest issue we have is BEADBI -- which continues as pointed out by West London Singh. Issue is protocol ------ what should be and shoudln't be allowed in a Gurdwara premises and complex. We have no much needed Akal Takht reps in this country to ensure protocol is pursued and formed for Gurdwaras which don't have it such as Gravesend. Is it possible to have some ideas or at least 5 or 10 points which form protocol of a Gurdwara here..??.without turning this debate into a mockery just valid points for protocol only please. I can almost guarntee the culprits are reading these threads too and they do need help as they've lost touch with basic principles and would never openly admit it.
  20. WJKK WJKF Cyber Sangat Jeeo, Gravesham council has taken off the advert from their portal however it seems it is still going ahead according to George Wood who will projecting this film on the Gurdwara wall , http://www.thescreenonthegreen.com/#/gravesend-open-air-cinema/4541311084 Also the local Kent messenger this week is carrying this advert on page 7.
  21. WJKK WJKF West London Singh Jeeo , many thanks for pointing out the cultural differences between UK and Canada which obviously are having the correct effect, However I understand where you’re coming from in bringing the community together by having cultural events in a Gurdwara complex, you seem to miss the point that these cultural programmes organised by our elders being exemplars could easily lead and pave the way, for the next upcoming modern Sikh generation for having gigs and Bhangra parties etc. on the same premises. I could well be wrong of course but common sense which is not common practice has to prevail to say the least. Anything is possible in the name of Vasaaki by the bhangra promoting cahoots. I would love to confirm the event is off and cancelled, however will only do so once I see some kind of resolution for the future. Secondly there seems to be some bashing going on still with o_singh and khivi kaur- there is no need for it at all, you only have to wait another week or so to find out. Moving on with life is the norm, and easy as life moves you anyway as long as one is living. Not making a protocol or some kind of guidelines for future use of the Gurdwara by AKJ or Feds or Gora or anyone else for that matter is a must and those guidelines must exist for a £15m building. Not having this is a failure by all Sikh groups in Gravesend, leaders or bashers or the quite ones or lame ones like me.
  22. WJKK WJKF The focus here has to be higher than the blame game as we are discussing what should be and shouldn't be taken as events that can take place in a Gurdwara complex. Kabbadi is a regular, so is football- any physical activity which encourages fitness and well being is not banned by SGGS...in fact our Guru Sahiban encouraged and started wrestling around their own Gurdwara complex such as Kadoor Sahib in Punjab. However the issue we have is Kabaddi supporters who turn up drunk in the grounds and go through security. This still is a problem, I have seen Kabaddi take place in Gurdwara complex in Canada every week with my own two eyes, but no alcoholics anywhere near to be seen. Something has to learned and adapted. Harbajjan maan concert happenned there when there was no Gurdwara present like it is TODAY which was about 10 odd years ago. Again no bashing please sangat from all over the UK and beyond has contributed to this Gurdwara all the more important that guidelines and protocol needs to be set up.
  23. WJKK WJKF HeatSikhingMissle Jeeo seems you was ready and waiting with your missle pointing in the right direction , however you seem to be out of touch with the subject at hand and how it will violate Gurdwara protcol - if you know what that is..
