  1. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh This is happenning up and down the country in the UK and will probably continue. However I agree with Narinder Singh completely, there should be no issue here ,we allow non amritdhari weddings to happen all the time in our community.Understanding of Gurmat is of extreme importance and I commend Gurdwaras who have projections of translations of SGGS in ther Gurdwaras for everyone to read and see. A gora or a black man marrying a panjabee girl could well be a good thing who are we to know what kind of life they are going to have in future and they may even lean on sikhe as their faith. Highly unlikely but who are we to judge what's already destiny on the forehead, it's hard enough to look after and mange oneself alone and live without going of a tangent within sikhe principles.
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Hi, I've got a set if you want can give it you, with one missing from the whole series, please mail me on nssall@gmail.com.
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Does anyone know if anyone constructs Palkees for SGGS in the UK, if so please mention names & numbers?
  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Many Thanks Guru Pyaraooooooo
  5. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Many thanks to Gursikhs for responding , I understand it's a higher state of naam and mind involved here. Pwalla Jee jeeo could you please post me the panna for the shabad you mention in your post. Please post any other shabads relating to work and naam if possible. Thanks
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Dear sangat jeeo , I hope someone can clarify a query. SGGS mentions clearly we should remember naam while we work daily, there is quote from SGGS which I cannot remember clearly. The question is if one is doing physical, mundane type of work it's possible to remember naam easily. How is one to rememer naam when one is occupied in the present age working in an IT related environment where one's mind is constantly bombarded with emails etc.Could Gursikhs give some examples of how they remember naam in such environments?
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh The tragedy is that most of the Sikh kaum didn't understand Sant Ji either and continue to do so , by utterring Khalistan slogans galore to this day.
  8. Funny thing is what about all the ones walking around major towns and cities Delhi, punjab they are all over the place in India, why aren't they sacred?
  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh B4ND4... Jeeo, you are correct indeed no one should persuade people to go into stocks, share, futures trading of any sort without any research behind them. I'll present some basic guidelines if anyone wants to get involved. The real thing about any business and trading financials is risk control. If someone is on the computer 24 hours a day then either he's got a great system and he is churning the money big time,or either he;s trying all sorts of things and he is actually struggling. As the financial risk taker you have to be a risk technician. For example if you have £5k to invest and your risk per trade is between 1%-2% of the capital then you will last as long as you maintain your discipline. If however you go much higher and go for the double up and get sucked into margins given by brokers these days you will double and throw up without a doubt. I have tested this theory over 4-5 years, the only way to survive if anyone wants to get involved in this game is to find: 1. A system and stick with it. 2. Find out your average gain and loss with your system by paper trading it for at least a year. 3. Stick to the system risking only 1-2% of capital per trade at all times not matter how good a set up looks, even when paper trading. 4. Disicpline without angusih-- hardest of all , here you have to journal your own behaviour in conjunction with your system and find out if you have following it properly. I can tell you one thing no matter how much of a Gursikh you are, trading will sure test you thoroughly. If anyone wanting to get involved in this and can stick to the above 4 points for over a year and then trade the live money starting small then you may get somehwere in this game. And finally you mention you haven't seen any mahapursh trading stocks, Mahapursh's are really hard to come by in any career, being a basic Gursikh is hard enough.
  10. yes you can but you and i know for sure the sharda and concentration would not be the same as doing it offline?! I don't understand how it's more confusing are you saying you want to do it online becasue you cant be asked to go to your local gurdwara somehow and do it or is that you work and have busy lifestyle and don't have time to do seva of mahraj from home and do paat at home?
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh, I 've had this dilemma a couple of times, and the elders you speak to are correct. The thing is how can we equate to having nishan and sitting with SGGS maharaj and doing sehaj paat with cyber paat which will be done on the odd occasion you have free sitting on a chair with shoes on and everything else. But all is not bad as maharaj says " jithe har aradiaa thettha har mith sohai" of course you can do paat via cyber means but no way is it the same in comparion to doing traditionally. So the solution is to do it both ways and off and online....!
  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Mahhraj 's ways are beyond words..........beautiful post
  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Guys, I 'm a trader and trade a whole host of financial instruments such as equities, futures, grains and work for major financial institution , hence my reason for jumping on this debate. I must stress that Japmans and smartsingh24 make excellent comments not just because I agree with them but they adhere to teachings from SGGS. All of of our Guru Sahiban did kirat kamai, Guru Nanak dev Ji did a bit of everything, business as well as working on the farms. The importance here is of the word kirat kamai, when I pick up my trade there is homework of about 3 hours going into it sometime even 3 days or 3 months as I trade in mutiple timeframes. Let me give you another insight this to get where I am at present has taken over 4.5 years and the ride is very tough. The psychology involved is immense as it's very easy to take the gambling mentality and think you can make a quick buck in this game. This game can bury you underground for good if you have this mentality. The biggest factors to control are EGO, FEAR, GREED,ANGER , DISCIPLINE in every trade. Aren't these the same things Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji talks about over and over again. Trading is gambling if YOU want it to be and I can gurantee if that's your take you will not last in this game, and as mentioned before if that's your take in life and what revolves around you in life will also be deadly.
  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh I originally rasied the questions on this thread, for learning further, I allowed it plenty of time hence my lateness in replying. I would like to say Thanks to all the contributors and I apologize in advance to members who got angry here and done the typical bashing. I didn't post the questions for bashing but for learning, because these are real live issues that exist in our kaum of today. My conclusion at present is that we all have role models in our lives from our parents to brothers sisters, prominent sikhs and sants, sant siphais. And various stages of life we change and change our role models too. The utmost lesson for us from Guru Jee is "sarbat da bhalla" respect all even your enemy, very hard to do in exercise, blows your mind away. In this message is also the modern thought process "of respecting others opinion even if we don't agree. Agree to disagree, and move on with tangible objectives should be the motto. I hope this thread in years to come changes so we can learn further and wonder if we have the right answer. If you're wondering of my answers to those questions I asked , at present for me Guru Ji is highest of all after giving khandee dee pauol to the panj, went down on his knees to take it from them too. This is the highest example ever of "appee Gur Chela" I hope the admins post this message.
  15. Last time I went to Bangkok I went to this Gurdwara and the link above doesn't contain the correct information. I got there by asking the taxi driver who said the Gurdwara is on a different address. The above address takes you to a mandar and not this gurdwara. When I got there I advsied poeple to change the address to reflect to the new addres and yet to a year since it still hasn't happenned.I can't remember the road clearly but I think it's called phurat where it is actually located. The Thai sikh organisation doesn't exist as I have tried ringing and mailing then on many occasions.
  16. Waheguru Je Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh I was given a book on Bhagat Jee "Garland around my neck " as a gift and recently had the chance to read it, I recommend it highly, to learn of who he was and his mission in life. As we lead busy lives in this age it's hard for one to find time and patience to read books, and it's because of that I thought I would share something out of the book. I was overwhelmed and never knew of Puran Jees' sacrifices even though my father used to send donations to Pinglwara , I never really questioned and learned about it till now, reading this book bought tears many a time , it’s remarkable and unbelievable how a man who had no one nothing from family apart from the love of his mother and his love for Guru Jee , of what he achieved in life and as we goto Siri Darbar Sahib his message is a content reminder and will stay that way for years to come for the sangat. Puran Singh Jee was a great visionary in his time and at his time more than 50 odd years ago he mentioned seven great dangers which he thought India faces:: 1.Combination of soil erosin, destruction of humus, leaching out of minerals from soil, increasing overpopulation. This combination if not checked, can result in far greater starvation than has yet been experienced. 2. Violence, was and civil strife, physical violence through economic, political, social or religious oppression. 3.Grossly unequal distribution of power as between classes, castes, groups and individuals, between city and the countryside. 4. Overemphasis on size in organisations especially in the realms of politcs, finance, industry and commerce. 5. Failure, especially among leaders to realise that in every realm of activity the means chosen to reach an end must be consistent with the end desired. 6.The prevalent notion amongst the elite that government or corporations o other large organisations need not obey moral laws recognised as applicable to individuals and others. 7. The loss of faith among leaders and university-educated people in the existence and power of spirituality. Bhagat Puran Singh Jee's view on Physical fitness: " It's not good to lead an idle life. A person can remain healthy only if he is physically active. All humans must walk at least 8 miles a day otherwise they will become victims of high blood pressure, diabetes, arthiritis, pain in the knees, joint pain and other ailments" Bhagat Puran Jee's favourite verses from Guru Granth Sahib Jee:: If one lives in a broken tenement, in tatters and has neither caste nor status, and wanders alone in the wilderness Has neither has friends nor a beloved, nor beauty, nor riches, nor relatives to lean on He indeed is the king of the universe if his mind is imbued with the lord's name. One is saved by the dust of the his feet, because the lord is please with him. Guru Grant Sahib JeePanna 707 Says Farid, if you long for the lord you should be like straw on the floor Torn by one and trod by another only then does one arrive at his door. Guru Grant Sahib Jee Panna 1378 He who has enshrined the name in his heart he who see the lord in every part He who remembers the master with every breath says Nanak, such a recluse saves the rest. Guru Granth Sahib P.274 Only by becoming totally detached , and not through mere verbal jargon, can one become a true disciple. One can be such a person only by standing up for truth and by over coming delusions and fears. The true disciple is ever busy in the service of the master. He forgoes hunger, sleep, food and rest. He grinds fresh flour for the free kitchen and fetches water for it as well. He fans the congregation and washes the feet of the guru. He serves with discipline and is neither woebegone no flippant. Only thus can he become devotee at eh door of the lord and get blessed by the shower of love He will be seen as the first moon of id,and will emerge a perfect man Bhai Gurdass // 3 Pauri 18 The above was taken from the book "Garland aorund my neck" The story of Puran Singh of Pingalwara by Patwant Singh and Harinder Kaur Sejhon
  17. Does anyone know the address of this Gurdwara ???
  18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh AKJ of the OLD will never come back due to the way AKJ of the new behaves whether it's AKJI, akj.org. It's unbeilevable but we are all for choudar these days and how much backup and kirtainis we have on our side and nothing else. Hopefully one day this Jatha may shine again God knows when..
  19. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh Disgusting indeed, while we have Monty doing more for the Sikh brand than any of our Gurdwaras put together this guy comes along and screws it up for everyone. There is so many serious issues with Sikh teenagers they are so vunerable and confused but our Gurdwaras with vast funds avaiable do not have collective solution at all apart from putting those funds to build further Gurdwara buildings and court cases.
  20. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh Beautiful seva guys, is it possible to scroll the camera on the sangat as well please??
  21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Wahegur Ji Ke Fateh Monty's the best and at the moment he is bringing about the Sikh kaum more pride than any of our Gurdwaras woh have a combined turnover of around £50million.
  22. [Waheguru Je ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ke Fateh I agree with Khalsa Fauj's comments, I never heard such garbage and am really offended , and can't beleive that the admins on this forum don't do a goood enough job. Akal Takht, do we know what it is?? Yes we've had utter bad people manage it from past to present but Takht of the Akal is not against anyone. My comments were on the Akal Takh marayda which I agree is not perfect but it has the basic points which all sikhs must adhere to and was constructed over many many years. Admins please why are such comments as from manmitchera have been let thru??
  23. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Je ke Fateh 'Japo_Taa_Eko_Naamaa ' could you answer my other questions too before I reply to you completely? Where have our Guru Sahiban introduced this practice, I mean they could've done but never did why? The answer is nowhere and you will not find any reference at all in Sikh History. This is a design of babas and deras sants, similar to what;s been happenning for centuries in the hindu religion where the brahmins practice sampat of geeta etc. the dera vale have taken this practice on to SGGS. I have nothing against it they can carry on doing it but what I don't understand is where does it say from our Sikh history to do this?? P.S. I'm not against reading bani, infact one should read, understand and live by it. Why do we do it the bramhmin way , geeta puja way is what i don't understand, perhaps the people who promote this ideology ask their baabas and respond and explain.
  24. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh Aman Kaur Jeeo, may I ask which of our Guru Sahiban started sampat paath?? Where does the Akal Takht Rehat Maryada state to do sampat paath? The answer is nowhere and you will not find any reference at all in Sikh History. This is a design of babas and deras sants, similar to what;s been happenning for centuries in the hindu religion where the brahmins practice sampat of geeta etc. the dera vale have taken this practice on to SGGS.
